RNC Withdraws Resolution to Declare Trump Nominee Following Backlash

A Republican National Committee member has withdrawn a draft resolution that would have declared former President Donald Trump the presumptive nominee in 2024 on Thursday following backlash and Trump’s own opposition.

Maryland RNC Committeeman Dave Bossie withdrew his resolution to declare Trump presumptive nominee after his wins in Iowa and New Hampshire and dominance over former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in polls of the remaining states, a source familiar confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

The draft resolution claimed Haley had no mathematical path to the nomination and cited the need to prepare for a general election matchup with President Joe Biden.

When news broke of the proposed resolution, Haley spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas responded, asking, “Who cares what the RNC says?”

“We’ll let millions of Republican voters across the country decide who should be our party’s nominee, not a bunch of Washington insiders,” she added.

Fani Willis and Nathan Wade Facing Subpoenas Over Alleged Affair and Financial Entanglements

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and special prosecutor Nathan Wade are expected to face subpoenas amid allegations of an extramarital affair and questionable financial ties.

The controversy came to light as Wade and a former/current law partner were informed to anticipate subpoenas for a hearing scheduled on February 15. The hearing aims to address claims made by Mike Roman, one of Trump’s co-defendants, alleging an improper romantic relationship between Willis and Wade and accusations of mishandling public funds.

Roman’s attorney emphasized that the real issue revolves around the impropriety of having Wade on the team and presenting the case to the grand jury, citing conflicts of interest and the appearance of impropriety. Roman has pushed for the case’s dismissal due to these alleged conflicts.

Regardless of the hearing’s outcome, the allegations against Willis and Wade are the latest distractions in their high-profile case against Trump and his co-defendants. The list of improprieties dates back to 2021 when Willis hired Wade.

Wade’s divorce filing a day after signing a lucrative contract with Willis raised eyebrows, especially as bank statements revealed he covered at least two plane trips for himself and Willis. Willis paid Wade an hourly rate higher than the state’s best-credentialed prosecutor for a similar case against Trump. Wade allegedly earned over $650,000 on the case.

The tangled web includes Wade being held in contempt of court in an unrelated case and allegations of significant contracts awarded to Wade’s law partner, suggesting deep-rooted conflicts of interest in the prosecution of Trump.

While Willis accuses Wade’s estranged wife of obstructing the election interference case against Trump, she has not directly addressed the allegations of an affair or financial improprieties. In response to the claims, Willis cited racism, portraying the accusations as racially motivated.

The controversy extends beyond the alleged affair, as reports reveal Willis colluded with Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee, seeking tips to aid in prosecuting Trump. Now Another State Launches Bill to Ban Trump From Ballot

Democrats across America apparently have such a fear of President Donald Trump’s presence on the 2024 presidential ballot they are trying in multiple ways to simply have him removed. . .

But now one lawmaker in Hawaii apparently believes his arguments, essentially the same as those used in multiple other states, are somehow better.

There, state Sen. Karl Rhoads, a Democrat who often lashes out angrily at Trump, is pushing for a bill that would ban Trump from the state’s ballot.

His plan aims to “specify that election ballots issued … shall exclude any candidate who is disqualified under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. . .

‘I Feel So Much Better’: Lindsey Graham Reportedly Hugged Fani Willis After Georgia Trump Testimony

A new book claims that Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina embraced Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is prosecuting former President Donald Trump, after he provided testimony in the case, Politico reported on Wednesday.

Willis obtained an indictment against Trump and several other defendants on Aug. 19, on 41 different charges related to an alleged criminal racket to overturn the state’s 2020 presidential election results as well as the filing of false documents. Graham, who was briefly involved in Trump’s efforts before acknowledging Joe Biden’s victory in the election, testified before the grand jury in the case on Nov. 22, 2022, where he allegedly “turned on a dime and threw Trump under the bus” and attempted to hug Willis after his testimony, according to Politico.

“That was so cathartic…I feel so much better,” said Graham to Willis after his testimony to the grand jury during an encounter in the courthouse where he testified, Politico reported. Graham thanked Willis for the “opportunity to tell his story” and, then, attempted to hug Willis.

“‘She was like “whatever, dude,”’ according to one witness of the strange encounter,” recounted Politico. The extracts were quoted from a chapter in a book by Michael Isikoff and Daniel Klaidmanin, titled “Find Me the Votes: A Hard-Charging Georgia Prosecutor, a Rogue President, and the Plot to Steal an American Election,” which is scheduled to be published on Tuesday. Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Wednesday on KTTV-LA “News at 6 PM” that former President Donald Trump had a “cognitive disorder.”

At a campaign rally, Trump said, “Nikki Haley. You know, they- did you know, they destroyed all of the information, all of the evidence, everything deleted and destroyed all of it. All of it. Because of lots of things like Nikki Haley, is in charge of security. We offered her ten thousand people, soldiers, National Guard whatever they want. They turned it down.”

Pelosi said, “First of all, he has a cognitive disorder. It wasn’t that he just had a slip of the tongue of using a name one time for another. Anybody can do that. But he was making a case. But really more dangerous than than getting us mixed up, more dangerous was his charge that we were not accepting his troops. We begged him for hours and hours. Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, to send the National Guard and he wouldn’t do it. Trump Triumphs in New Hampshire Primary: Haley Did ‘Very Poorly’ (VIDEO)

In a resounding victory, former President Donald Trump emerged triumphant in the New Hampshire primary, dealing a decisive blow to his rival, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. The outcome of the race was apparent within minutes of polls closing, with Trump celebrating his win while critiquing Haley’s performance.

Trump, exuding confidence, mocked Haley’s optimistic speech despite her loss, stating, “She did very poorly, actually.” The former president highlighted Haley’s unsuccessful bid and took aim at New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who endorsed her. Trump’s convincing win also saw him secure the backing of former rivals Vivek Ramaswamy, Tim Scott, and Doug Burgam. According to Breitbart News:

Fani Willis Faces Scrutiny Over Past Removal From Election Case for Political Bias

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, currently embroiled in controversy over alleged misuse of public funds and the appointment of her secret lover as outside counsel, has come under renewed scrutiny for her previous removal from a case involving the 2020 election results in Georgia. The presiding Superior Court Judge, Robert McBurney, had barred Willis from building a case against Georgia state Sen. Burt Jones due to her hosting a fundraiser for a Democratic candidate, Charlie Bailey, during his runoff race.

According to NBC News, Judge McBurney found Willis’ involvement in the fundraiser to be “harmful” to the investigation into Sen. Jones, who was accused of collaborating with other state Republicans to influence the 2020 election results. McBurney emphasized that Willis’ participation in the fundraiser raised “entirely reasonable concerns of politically motivated persecution.”

While McBurney acknowledged that Willis’ donation to a Democrat campaign wasn’t disqualifying in itself, he argued that it “added to the weight of the conflict” created by her extensive campaign work on behalf of candidate Bailey. The judge ruled that any decision Willis made about Sen. Jones in connection with the grand jury investigation would be “necessarily infected by it.”

In the wake of these findings, McBurney ruled that another prosecutor would have to bring charges against Jones, and Willis was permitted to continue her involvement in the investigation of the alleged use of “fake electors.”

The recent controversy surrounding Willis involves allegations of misusing county funds in appointing her alleged lover, Nathan Wade, as outside counsel in a case against former President Donald Trump. Questions have arisen about potential conflicts of interest, as bank statements reportedly show Wade purchasing flight tickets in Willis’ name for personal vacations. Wade’s firm has received approximately $654,000 from Willis’ office since 2022.

Former President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude and honor upon receiving the endorsement of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who recently suspended his 2024 presidential campaign. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Trump stated, “Very honored to have his endorsement,” and emphasized the importance of unifying behind the common goal of defeating President Joe Biden.

“I look forward to working together with him to beat Joe Biden, who is the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country,” Trump added, underlining the shared objective of challenging the incumbent president.

DeSantis formally announced his withdrawal from the presidential race through a video statement on X, citing a lack of a clear path to victory.
