Poll: Trump Maintains Towering Lead Over Primary Field

Former President Donald Trump maintains a substantial lead over Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in Morning Consult’s latest Republican presidential primary tracker poll.

The poll published on Tuesday shows that 56 percent of potential Republican primary voters back Trump for the nomination. He sits 34 points ahead of DeSantis, who has not announced a White House bid, at 22 percent. DeSantis has gained slightly compared to last week’s poll, which had him and the 45th president at 24 percent and 58 percent, respectively.

Beyond Trump and DeSantis, no other candidate commands double-digit support. Seven percent of respondents back former Vice President Mike Pence, followed by former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) in fourth place with four percent. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswmy is backed by three percent of the respondents, followed by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) at two percent.

Govs. Greg Abbott (R-TX) and Kristi Noem (R-SD) tie at two percent, while Gov. Glen Youngkin (R-VA), who has declared he will not run, and former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) did not secure one percent of support. (Read more from “Poll: Trump Maintains Towering Lead Over Primary Field” HERE)

Trump Lawyer Grills E. Jean Carroll About Similarity Between Her Rape Claim, ‘SVU’ Episode

Donald Trump’s lawyer appeared to imply E. Jean Carroll got the idea for her rape allegations against the former president from an episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” — but she denied seeing it, calling the coincidence “astonishing” during testimony Monday.

Carroll — who was back on the stand in Manhattan federal court for her civil rape trial against Trump — was asked by his attorney Joe Tacopina if she knew her account of the alleged 1996 attack was very similar to a brief plot line in a 2012 episode of the popular NBC show.

The 79-year-old former journalist testified she was “aware” of the episode but, “I haven’t seen it.”

A brief moment of the episode — titled “Theatre and Tricks” — involves a character talking about role-playing a rape fantasy in Bergdorf Goodman.

“Role-play took place in the dressing room of Bergdorf’s. While she was trying on lingerie I would burst in,” the character says. (Read more from “Trump Lawyer Grills E. Jean Carroll About Similarity Between Her Rape Claim, ‘SVU’ Episode” HERE)

Trump Accuses National Archives of Allowing Him to Leave White House With Classified Documents

The staff at the “overly political” National Archives refused to help President Trump pack up his office in the final days of his administration, according to Mr. Trump, and their absence caused him to unknowingly take classified material to his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

Mr. Trump’s attorneys made the charge in a letter to Congress that seeks a legislative remedy to end the Justice Department’s investigation into the former president’s possession of boxes of documents that the National Archives said belong to the agency and include some classified material.

Mr. Trump’s attorney in the case, Timothy B. Parlatore, wrote to Rep. Michael Turner, Ohio Republican and chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, that the National Archives and Records Administration “unfortunately has become overtly political and declined to provide archival assistance to President Trump’s transition team.”

Had National Archives staff offered to help pack in Mr. Trump’s final days in office, Mr. Parlatore said, “he would have accepted the offer and there would have been no reason to transfer the documents to Mar-a-Lago.”

Mr. Parlatore wrote that the White House lacks standard procedures for handling classified documents and that a law is needed “to prevent the [Justice Department] from continuing to conduct ham-handed criminal investigations of matters that are inherently not criminal.” (Read more from “Trump Accuses National Archives of Allowing Him to Leave White House With Classified Documents” HERE)

Ex-CIA Moscow Station Chief Reveals Why He Refused to Sign Hunter Biden Laptop ‘Disinfo’ Letter

A former Moscow station chief for the CIA revealed on Friday that he was given the chance to sign onto a letter attacking The Post’s bombshell report on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop as possibly Russian disinformation — but he ultimately refused.

Daniel Hoffman told Fox News on Friday that he was presented with the letter, which ended up being signed by 51 top US intelligence officials, on Oct. 18, 2020, but didn’t sign it because there was “no evidence” of Russian involvement.

“[A]t first glance, it seemed natural to lay the blame at the Kremlin’s doorstep,” Hoffman said during an interview on “America Reports.” “Remember, Vladimir Putin is in the Kremlin and he’s well-known for cloak-and-dagger espionage operations. But at the same time, there was no evidence. And the letter noted there was no evidence.”

Hoffman explained that the arguments presented in the speculative letter were “convoluted” and would need to be scrutinized by an investigatory agency such as the FBI before being considered credible.

“It was not up to us to speculate. So I didn’t sign the letter. I typically don’t put my name to other people’s words,” he said. (Read more from “Ex-CIA Moscow Station Chief Reveals Why He Refused to Sign Hunter Biden Laptop ‘Disinfo’ Letter” HERE)

WATCH: Crowd Erupts as Trump Imitates Biden Being Lost on Stage; Body Language Expert: Why DeSantis Was Animated When Asked About Polls

By Daily Caller. Former President Donald Trump drew thunderous applause at a New Hampshire rally Thursday when he mocked President Joe Biden for getting lost on stage.

Trump rallied with supporters in Manchester, New Hampshire, and imitated Biden by pretending to get lost on stage, video shows.

“You would think at least one time he’d get up and say, ‘I’m running for president — where, where am I going, where the hell am I going,’” Trump said while pretending to look around frantically, drawing laughter from the crowd.

“I want to get out, oh, no over there, over there,” Trump said in an affected voice before walking away from the podium and acting befuddled. The crowd erupted at Trump’s gesture and he walked back to the podium to hear the applause. The former president carried on with his speech after a few moments. Body Language Expert: Why DeSantis Was Animated When Asked About Polls

By Daily Mail. Ron DeSantis’ awkward response to falling poll numbers has critics speculating that he is ‘extremely shaken’ by the prospect of the drop-off in standing against former President Donald Trump.

The Florida governor has not yet announced a run for president, but his recent travels and continued national and international presence has only fueled speculation that he does plan to run in 2024.

Trump’s increasing lead seems to have shaken DeSantis.

Asked about an NBC News poll released Sunday that showed DeSantis trailing Trump by 15, the Florida governor appeared visibly caught off guard.

The exchange with reporters in Tokyo, Japan on Monday has been viewed 7.7 million times in just one clip posted to Twitter shortly after they happened.

Trump Retires Infamous Nickname for Hillary Clinton — And Reveals New One for Biden

Former President Donald Trump said “Crooked Joe Biden” poses a “threat to democracy,” vowing to “crush” him at the ballot box in November 2024 and to “settle our unfinished business.”

Trump on Thursday hosted a campaign rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, welcoming the crowd of nearly 2,000 people and touting more than 50 endorsements from Granite State officials, while reacting to Biden’s pre-taped re-election campaign announcement.

“Joe Biden officially announced that he will seek four more disastrous years in the White House,” Trump said, vowing to “rescue America” from another four years of “disastrous” Democratic policies.

Trump, who currently is leading the Republican 2024 presidential primary field by more than 30 points in a number of new polls this week, including the latest Fox News poll, shifted to make a “major announcement.”

“I will be retiring the name ‘Crooked’ from Hillary Clinton,” Trump said. “And I’m going to give her a new name — I don’t know, like maybe ‘Lovely Hillary’ or ‘Beautiful Hillary’ — but I’m going to retire the name ‘Crooked’ so that we can use the name for Joe Biden, because he’ll be known from now on as ‘Crooked Joe Biden.'” (Read more from “Trump Retires Infamous Nickname for Hillary Clinton — And Reveals New One for Biden” HERE)

Report: Donald Trump Is Considering Naming Ron DeSantis His VP on 2024 Ticket

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly considering whether to name Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as his running mate in 2024, RadarOnline.com has learned.

In a shocking development to come after months of attacks waged against DeSantis by Trump, the former president’s campaign team is reportedly urging Trump to consider naming the Florida governor as his vice president in an effort to secure the Republican nomination in next year’s presidential election. . .

“Some of his supporters are suggesting he make a deal with DeSantis to make him VP, and he’s listening, but hasn’t agreed,” one source familiar with the matter told Page Six on Tuesday.

“Supporters say the VP offer would stop DeSantis from opposing [Trump] and offer a ‘youthful conservative vigor’ to the slot, which Biden doesn’t have,” the insider continued. “DeSantis would also bring in big money to the campaign.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, DeSantis has yet to officially announce his own 2024 White House bid – although he is allegedly preparing to do so at the end of May. (Read more from “Report: Donald Trump Is Considering Naming Ron DeSantis His VP on 2024 Ticket” HERE)

Trump Hints He May Skip GOP Debates: ‘Nobody Got My Approval’

Former President Donald Trump appeared to cast doubt about whether he will participate in the GOP debates.

“I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval, or the approval of the Trump Campaign, before announcing them. When you’re leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile Networks with angry, TRUMP & MAGA-hating anchors asking the ‘questions,’ why subject yourself to being libeled and abused?” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The Republican National Committee announced the first primary debate will take place in Milwaukee in August and will be hosted by Fox News. The RNC also announced the second debate will take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, but the exact date and moderator have not been specified.

“Also, the Second Debate is being held at the Reagan Library, the Chairman of which is, amazingly, Fred Ryan, Publisher of The Washington Post. NO!” Trump added. (Read more from “Trump Hints He May Skip GOP Debates: ‘Nobody Got My Approval’” HERE)

Donald Trump Is Crushing Ron DeSantis in the Polls

Former President Donald Trump appears to be crushing his potential Republican rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, in a number of recent polls before DeSantis has even entered the presidential race.

A new Harris/Harvard poll conducted from April 18 to 19 showed Trump leading the Florida governor by 35 points among Republican voters in a hypothetical GOP presidential primary.

Trump announced his re-election bid shortly after the 2022 midterm elections but DeSantis has not yet formally launched a presidential campaign despite speculation that he will jump into the race.

The Harris/Harvard poll found Trump with 55 percent support among GOP voters—far ahead of DeSantis on 20 percent and former Vice President Mike Pence on just 7 percent and other potential candidates recording less than 5 percent each.
