Trump on Romney: ‘Mitt’s a Loser,’ ‘The Right Candidate Will Beat Him’ in Utah Primary

Former President Donald Trump, the leading 2024 GOP presidential candidate, told Breitbart News that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is a “loser.”

Trump made the comments about Romney, who carpet-bagged his way into a U.S. Senate seat from Utah after he lost the 2012 presidential election after his governorship in the northeastern Bay State, Massachusetts, during a nearly hour-long exclusive on-camera interview last week at his golf club here.

“Mitt’s a loser. He’s been a loser for a long time,” Trump said when asked to respond to Romney’s recent op-ed in the Wall Street Journal in which the failed presidential candidate called for the crowded GOP field in 2024 to winnow itself down to try to stop Trump from getting the nomination again.

Trump also bashed Romney for marching with Black Lives Matter protesters in Washington, DC, in 2020, mocking Romney for wearing a mask during it and saying some of the leftists with whom he was marching were really bad folks.

“He has no respect in the Republican Party,” Trump continued about Romney. “He’s a terrible Republican. I think he’s terrible for the nation also. I saw him marching with the Antifa and the groups down in Washington with his mask on—you couldn’t even see his face. They were marching, and these were real terrorists—very bad people he was marching with. He didn’t even know the difference.” (Read more from “Trump on Romney: ‘Mitt’s a Loser,’ ‘The Right Candidate Will Beat Him’ in Utah Primary” HERE)

Pence’s Revenge: VP Turns Star Witness Against Trump in Jan. 6 Case

Former President Donald Trump once called his vice president a “wimp” and the “p-word” for refusing to block Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s presidential victory.

Now Mike Pence has turned against Mr. Trump and become a star witness in a federal criminal case that could land the ex-president in prison for decades.

Special counsel Jack Smith’s four-count indictment of Mr. Trump on charges he undertook a “criminal scheme” to remain in office despite losing the election features a set of contemporaneous notes by Mr. Pence. The former vice president dutifully handed over the notes to federal prosecutors.

The notes detailed private phone calls and other conversations Mr. Pence held with Mr. Trump in late 2020 and early 2021 when Mr. Trump was questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election results and looking for ways to overturn them. Trump Lawyer Says Jack Smith Is Endangering American Legal System With Latest Indictment

A lawyer representing former President Donald Trump told Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro that Justice Department special investigator Jack Smith was putting the American justice system in jeopardy after he brought another indictment against Trump.

In an interview with Trump’s attorney Jesse Binnall on the Wednesday episode of “The Ben Shapiro Show,” Binnall and Shapiro discussed the latest indictment against Trump over his alleged attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

“They’re playing a super dangerous game here, not only because the charges are spurious, but also because the charges are serious. There’s every possibility that because there’s a D.C. jury, President Trump is convicted on these charges, it gets appealed and ends up in the Supreme Court of the United States,” Shapiro said.

The Daily Wire co-founder noted that he believed if the Supreme Court ruled in Trump’s favor, the high court would be completely delegitimized before the Left even though it would be the correct decision.

“We have really a system where Jack Smith is putting the entire credibility of the American justice system, no matter what side wins, at what level, really in jeopardy here. You know, I can tell you, one person that is really sweating right now is John Roberts, you know, the chief justice who puts the credibility of the judiciary very, very high,” Binnall said. DOJ Indictment of Trump Is a Declaration of War Against American Voters

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden’s Justice Department took the unprecedented step of indicting former President Donald Trump — Biden’s chief rival in the upcoming 2024 election — for repeatedly expressing his opinion that the last election was stolen, rigged, and unfair.

It’s an opinion millions of Americans share, and to which they are unquestionably entitled thanks to the First Amendment. That includes Trump, who has said repeatedly (and recently) that the 2020 election was stolen. He’ll probably keep saying it until his dying day, and he has every right to do so.

The idea that our Justice Department can indict someone, especially the sitting president’s main political rival, over speech that’s protected by the First Amendment is simply insane. It puts us firmly into banana republic territory, where tinpot dictators jail their political opponents ahead of election day to ensure their “reelection.”

Simply put, this indictment is nothing more than a declaration of war against American voters and their constitutional right to free speech. As Jonathan Turley noted on Twitter, “If you take a red pen to all of the material presumptively protected by the First Amendment, you can reduce much of the indictment to haiku.”

Consider what’s alleged, and what isn’t, by DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith (who, let’s not forget, was once rebuked by a unanimous Supreme Court after he tried to put a GOP governor in prison during the Obama administration). The charges against Trump do not include incitement to violence on Jan. 6, 2021. You might be surprised to hear that after Smith’s hyperbolic press conference Tuesday, in which he went on and on about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and how horrible it was. Jan. 6 Police Officer Shocks CNN Host When He Compares Trump to Osama Bin Laden: ‘Donald Trump Is a Terrorist’

Former police officer Michael Fanone celebrated the newest indictment against former President Donald Trump by comparing the event to the U.S. military killing Osama bin Laden. . .

Fanone — a former Washington, D.C., police officer who was injured in the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol and who now works as a CNN analyst — expressed joy that Trump was indicted for alleged conspiracies related to the 2020 presidential election.

The comment appeared to catch CNN host Laura Coates off guard.

“These two seem comparable to you?” she pushed back. . .

“I believe they’re comparable,” he said. “Osama bin Laden was a terrorist who committed a horrific act against American people and against our republic. And I believe that Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed horrific acts against the American people.” (Read more from “Jan. 6 Police Officer Shocks CNN Host When He Compares Trump to Osama Bin Laden: ‘Donald Trump Is a Terrorist’ HERE)

Trump Indicted by Special Counsel Jack Smith Over Bid to Overturn 2020 Election; Trump Lands Obama Judge Known for Harshest Jan. 6 Sentences

By New York Post. Former President Donald Trump was indicted Tuesday by special counsel Jack Smith, who charged the president with four counts in connection with his attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

According to Smith, the 77-year-old “pursued unlawful means of discounting legitimate votes and subverting the election results” in a desperate bid to stay in power after his defeat by Joe Biden.

Prosecutors charged that the 45th president’s incessant claims of election fraud costing him re-election “were false and [Trump] knew they were false.

“But the Defendant repeated and widely disseminated them anyway — to make his knowingly false claims appear legitimate, create an intense national atmosphere of mistrust and anger, and erode public faith in the administration of the election.” (Read more from “Trump Indicted by Special Counsel Jack Smith Over Bid to Overturn 2020 Election” HERE)

Donald Trump Indicted: Assigned Judge Tanya Chutkan Known for Longest Jan. 6 Sentences

By Washington Examiner. Former President Donald Trump will face a federal judge in his alleged election subversion case who has a noted history of giving some of the lengthiest sentences to defendants involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The case will be overseen by Judge Tanya Chutkan, an appointee of former President Barack Obama who has presided over several cases involving the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and is known to hand down sentences longer than what was recommended by prosecutors who brought the charges.

Out of a series of 11 riot-related cases Chutkan presided over, she imposed tougher sentences than those sought by federal prosecutors in seven instances and matched Department of Justice requests four times. All defendants wound up behind bars, according to an Associated Press review of sentences handed out to rioters.

For example, during a sentencing hearing in October 2021 for Texas resident Matt Mazzocco, who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for unauthorized entry into the Capitol building, the judge described the recommended sentence as too lenient. Top Law Professor Throws Cold Water on Idea Trump’s Latest Indictment Will Stop Re-Election

Former President Donald Trump’s latest four-count indictment relating to the 2020 election’s aftermath will not come close to fulfilling Democrats’ dreams of prohibiting the Republican front-runner from attaining high office again, a top law professor told Fox News.

George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley’s analysis was essentially seconded by another legal expert, former New York federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy, who noted he had himself successfully prosecuted a “seditious conspiracy” case and said the Trump investigation gets nowhere close to that threshold.

Fox News correspondent David Spunt reported on “The Five” that Trump had been indicted on four counts: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Turley told “The Five” that special counsel Jack Smith might be “yielding to his weakness” with the indictment.

“[Smith] may be stretching the law a bit, so that’s why we’re going to be looking at things like witness tampering to see how much new evidence he has,” Turley said. “You’ll notice that not being discussed in all of this is a conspiracy for incitement [or] seditious conspiracy.” (Read more from “Top Law Professor Throws Cold Water on Idea Trump’s Latest Indictment Will Stop Re-Election” HERE)

Irony: Jack Smith’s Team Admits Incorrectly Telling Court DOJ Turned Over All Materials

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team admitted in a federal court filing in Miami this week that the government had not, in fact, given all of its evidence to the court for President Donald Trump’s defense team to review — the same thing Trump is alleged to have done.

Smith has charged Trump with 40 counts in the so-called “documents” case. Among them is the accusation that Trump caused his lawyers to tell the government that they had handed over all of the documents the government wanted, when in fact they had not.

The indictment against Trump alleges that he conspired with his staff to move boxes of documents, and to attempt to delete some video footage, without telling his attorneys, so that the final delivery of documents and video to the government was incomplete.

But in an ironic twist, Smith’s team had to admit to the court in a July 31 filing that it had not, in fact, uploaded all of the video footage that it had taken from Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, to a platform established by the court for the defense to review it.

Trump Makes Vow About His Presidential Campaign if He Is Sentenced to Prison

Former President Donald Trump has vowed to continue his 2024 White House run even if he is convicted and sentenced on criminal charges.

Trump made the promise during a Friday appearance on “The John Fredricks Show,” a pro-Trump radio program, when asked whether his potential conviction would terminate his second bid for the White House.

“Not at all. There’s nothing in the Constitution to say that it could,” Trump said. “Even the radical left crazies are saying, ‘No, that wouldn’t stop!’ And it wouldn’t stop me either.”

Trump is currently facing multiple state and federal charges, including 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York, and 37 federal charges stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his alleged improper retention of classified records at his Mar-a-Lago home.

He pled “not guilty” to the New York charges in April and the federal charges in June. (Read more from “Trump Makes Vow About His Presidential Campaign if He Is Sentenced to Prison” HERE)

Trump Predicts New Indictment ‘Any Day Now’ to Distract From Hunter Biden’s Legal Saga

Donald Trump is bracing for an imminent fresh indictment and he claims the impending legal action will be a charade to obscure bad news for President Biden.

Trump bemoaned the supposed indictment in a post on Truth Social as Special Counsel Jack Smith mulls potential charges against him for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and coinciding efforts to undermine the 2020 election.

“I assume that an Indictment from Deranged Jack Smith and his highly partisan gang of Thugs, pertaining to my ‘PEACEFULLY & TPATRIOTICALLY Speech [sic], will be coming out any day now, as yet another attempt to cover up all of the bad news about bribes, payoffs, and extortion, coming from the Biden ‘camp,’” Trump bemoaned in a Truth Social post.

Trump’s premonition coincides with closed-door testimony before the House Oversight Committee from Hunter Biden’s business partner Devon Archer who alleged the then-vice president was put on speakerphone for the first son’s business partners on roughly 20 occasions.
