New Poll: Biden Lead Shrinks on Convention Eve With Double-Digit Shift Trump’s Way

Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden’s lead has evaporated in the past two months, a new poll from CNN shows.

Biden leads President Donald Trump by just four points nationally — 50 percent to 46 percent — and by even less across 15 battleground states that will determine who wins the electoral college. In those 15 states — Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin — the new CNN poll has Biden leading by just one percent, with Biden at 49 and Trump at 48.

The top line national number of a four-point race represents a double-digit shift in Trump’s direction from CNN’s last national poll in early June. That survey, two months ago, had Biden up 14 points — meaning this latest survey represents a ten-point swing Trump’s way as the summer has progressed heading into the conventions.

The Democrats begin their virtual convention, during which Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) will be formally nominated as the presidential and vice presidential candidates, this week. The Republicans hold their convention the following week. . .

“The movement in the poll among voters nationwide since June is concentrated among men (they split about evenly in June, but now 56% back Trump, 40% Biden), those between the ages of 35 and 64 (they tilt toward Trump now, but were Biden-leaning in June) and independents (in June, Biden held a 52% to 41% lead, but now it’s a near even 46% Biden to 45% Trump divide),” Agiesta wrote. “Trump has also solidified his partisans since June. While 8% of Republicans or Republican-leaning independents in June said they would back Biden, that figure now stands at just 4%. And the President has boosted his backing among conservatives from 76% to 85%.” (Read more from “New Poll: Biden Lead Shrinks on Convention Eve With Double-Digit Shift Trump’s Way” HERE)

Trump Campaign Makes The Internet Better With Trolling Messages And Ads (VIDEO)

President Trump has never shied away from low blows and comical jabs while running a campaign. The last election cycle was filled with memorable name-calling like “Little Marco,” “Lyin’ Ted,” and “Crooked Hillary.”

This election cycle, Trump tested out several monikers for Biden, including ‘China Joe” and “Sleepy Creepy Joe” until he finally landed on “Sleepy Joe.” The Trump 404 page on his campaign website is a hilarious photo of Biden looking confused with a caption that reads, “It appears you are as lost as me.” . . .

A new animated Trump campaign ad also turns liberals’ derisive term “the Trump train” for Trump supporters into a positive. In the ad, a big, strong, sleek red train emblazoned with “Trump/Pence” and “KAG (Keep America Great) 2020” speeds across a city landscape to the beat of Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue”.

Then the ad shows the “Biden train,” a handcar with Biden pumping it along. This old-timer machine reflects back to when Biden during a primary debate mused about people gathering around the “radio” and the “record player.”

Beneath the beat of “Electric Avenue” are soundbites of Biden’s oddest moments, such as when he rambled about how “kids used to come up and reach in the pool and rub my leg down so it was straight and then watch the hair come back up again,” and “I love kids jumping on my lap.”

President Trump Accepts Endorsement From New York City Police Union

The New York City Police Benevolent Association endorsed President Donald Trump on Friday – a union representing 24,000 police officers in the city.

Trump welcomed a group of enthusiastic New York City officers to his club in Bedminster, New Jersey, for an event to announce the endorsement.

The police union president, Patrick Lynch, gave a passionate speech thanking the president for standing up for law enforcement at a time when many were afraid to do so. Lynch said:

I cannot remember when we’ve ever endorsed for the president of the United States until now. That’s how important this is. …. Mr. President, we’re fighting for our lives out there we don’t want this to spread to the country, we need your strong voice across the country.

Trump delivered a speech warning of the dangers they were facing if former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris won the presidential election. (Read more from “President Trump Accepts Endorsement From New York City Police Union” HERE)

Durham Investigation: Corrupt FBI Attorney Who Falsified Carter Page FISA Warrant, Expected to Plead Guilty

A top FBI lawyer who fabricated evidence in a federal spy warrant against Trump campaign affiliate Carter Page is expected to plead guilty to federal charges brought by U.S. Attorney John Durham. Kevin Clinesmith, who is expected to admit to deliberately fabricating evidence in a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant application, used to spy on a former campaign affiliate of President Donald Trump, was a top attorney in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) and a key agency attorney under fired former FBI Director James Comey.

Clinesmith is the first individual to be charged as part of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the efforts in 2016 and 2017 to spy on the Trump campaign and Trump administration. Both Durham and Attorney General William Barr stated at the conclusion of the OIG investigation of the Page FISA warrants that they had reason to believe the entire investigation of Trump, which allegedly began in late July of 2016, was not legally predicated. Durham was tapped by Barr in May of 2019 to investigate the Russian collusion hoax and determine whether any criminal charges against those who perpetrated it were warranted.

Clinesmith’s deliberate falsification of a federal spy warrant was first revealed last December following a lengthy investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG), headed by Michael Horowitz. Horowitz and his team wrote in a 434-page report that Clinesmith — identified in the report as “OGC Attorney” — altered an email from a separate U.S. federal agency, believed to be the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), to falsely state that Page had never worked with the CIA to investigate suspected Russia agents operating within the U.S. In fact, as Clinesmith was told by the operative, Page had worked with the CIA previously, as well as with the FBI. . .

Clinesmith’s name first made national news after his anti-Trump text messages to another FBI attorney, Sally Moyer, surfaced following a separate OIG investigation of anti-Trump bias from top FBI attorneys and investigators. WATCH: Harris Once Joked About Killing Trump, Pence, Sessions

Presumptive Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris joked in April 2018 about President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions perishing in an imagined elevator emergency.

During an appearance on “Ellen,” host Ellen DeGeneres asked the senator from California which of Trump, Pence or Sessions she would want to be stuck in an elevator with.

“Does one of us have to come out alive?” Harris asked in response, laughing for several seconds and eliciting cheers and chuckles from the studio audience. . .

In 2016, Biden himself was stumping for then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton when he told a crowd that he would “take [Trump] behind the gym” in response to the release of the “Access Hollywood” tape in which Trump made lewd comments about women.

At the time, Biden was asked whether he wished to debate Trump, to which he remarked, “No. I wish we were in high school. I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish.” (Read more from “WATCH: Harris Once Joked About Killing Trump, Pence, Sessions” HERE)

WATCH: Trump Campaign Releases Devastating Biden Ad

The Trump campaign was ready. As soon as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) was his running mate, Team Trump released their first ad about the new ticket. In it, the campaign declares their new nicknames for the Biden-Harris ticket, “Slow Joe” and “Phony Kamala.”

On Wednesday, they released their second ad, which according to the campaign exposes Biden’s “long history of racism.” The ad’s strategy is simple: It directly quotes Biden. . .

These comments were cringey. But some of the biggest blemishes on his record on race were nicely highlighted by his newly minted running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) during the Democratic primary. In one debate, Harris shared her disgust that Biden had praised working with two former senators, Mississippi Sen. James Eastland and Georgia Sen. Herman Talmadge, who supported racial segregation. Biden Accuses President Trump of ‘Coddling Terrorists and Thugs’ Overseas; Trump Calls on Biden to Denounce Antifa

By Breitbart. Joe Biden, the presumptive Democrat nominee, accused President Donald Trump on Wednesday of “coddling terrorists and thugs” around the globe.

“We’re going to get to work fixing the mess that President Trump and Vice President [Mike] Pence have created, both at home and abroad, through four years of mismanagement and coddling of terrorists and thugs around the world,” Biden said during an event in Delaware alongside his newly announced running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).

Biden’s comments took some Republicans, including Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), by surprise given the former vice president’s history of opposing military efforts against terrorist leaders.

Trump Calls on Biden to Denounce Antifa

By New York Post. President Trump on Wednesday called on Joe Biden to denounce radical far-left group Antifa after pranksters appeared to direct “Antifa.com” to Joe Biden’s campaign page.

The president was asked about the snafu — which seemed timed to Biden’s unveiling of his VP Kamala Harris in Delaware — and whether his opponents needed to denounce Antifa as a domestic terror organization.

“They should. I think they’re afraid to,” Trump claimed. “In my book, it’s virtually part of their campaign, Antifa.”

“The Democrats act like, ‘Gee, I don’t know exactly what that is.’ Take a look at Portland, take a look at any place you want to take a look at — they’re everywhere,” he continued. (Read more from “Trump Calls on Biden to Denounce Antifa” HERE)

Joe Biden Announces Running Mate; President Trump Chimes In: ‘She was My Number One Pick’; Flashback: Kamala Harris Said She Believed Biden’s Rape Accusers

Kamala Harris Named by Joe Biden as His VP Pick

By NBC News. Joe Biden has chosen Kamala Harris, the prominent senator from California whose political career has included many barrier-breaking moments, as his running mate, his campaign announced on Tuesday.

The decision comes more than a year after Harris, who was also a 2020 Democratic candidate, clashed with Biden over racial issues during the first primary debate. If elected, she would be the nation’s first female, first Black and first Asian American vice president. . .

The announcement from Biden — which a campaign aide told NBC News came about 90 minutes after he called Harris to tell her — caps weeks of speculation and is Biden’s biggest decision to date as the presumptive Democratic nominee, a detail Biden himself noted in his announcement.

“You make a lot of important decisions as president. But the first one is who you select to be your Vice President. I’ve decided that Kamala Harris is the best person to help me take this fight to Donald Trump and Mike Pence and then to lead this nation starting in January 2021,” Biden wrote in an email from his campaign to supporters. Trump Slams Kamala Harris After VP Pick, Claims ‘She Was My Number One Pick’

By Fox News. President Trump, in his first on-camera remarks about the new Biden-Harris ticket, said he was “a little surprised” that Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris to be his running mate given her “very poor” primary performance — but said she was his “number one pick” to face off against.

During a White House briefing Tuesday afternoon — shortly after Biden announced Harris as his VP nominee — Trump lashed out against the Democratic senator.

The president, referring to her failed 2020 presidential run, claimed he was most surprised by the pick because “she did very very poorly in primaries, she ended up right around two percent.” And he drew attention to her campaign attacks on Biden at the time.

“She was very disrespectful to Joe Biden. It’s hard to pick someone that was that disrespectful,” Trump said referring to a debate moment to Harris’ blitz against Biden in last summer’s primary debates. Flashback: Kamala Harris Said She Believed Biden’s Rape Accusers

By The Federalist. Kamala Harris, whom expected Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced Tuesday as his running mate, said last year that she believes the women who accused Biden of sexual assault.

“I believe them and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” Harris said in 2019. . .

After Reade’s accusations were publicized, Harris was criticized as a hypocrite for supporting Biden over Reade, especially after being quick to defend Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. When Harris chose to support Biden instead of Reade, she was already considered on the shortlist as a potential running mate for the Biden campaign.

President Trump on Mail-In Ballots: It’s Going to Be a Rigged Election’

By Washington Examiner. President Trump once again made his opposition to mass mail-in voting clear, saying involuntary absentee ballots will lead to a “rigged election.” . . .

Trump, who has previously incorrectly stated mail-in voting will lead to fraud, also said it will make it easier for foreign interference after U.S. intelligence assessed China, Russia, and Iran are targeting the upcoming election.

“This whole thing with this mail-in ballot, that’s a rigged election waiting to happen,” Trump said Tuesday on Fox News’s Hannity. “It’s rigged, and everyone knows it. Because you can’t send out 16 million mail-in ballots to everybody, who knows who’s getting them. The mailmen are going to get them, and people are going to just grab batches of them, and you talk about China and Russia, they’ll be grabbing plenty of them. It’s a disaster.” (Read more from “President Trump on Mail-In Ballots: It’s Going to Be a Rigged Election'” HERE)

Cal Thomas: Trump on Voting by Mail — President Is Right for These Reasons

By Fox News. . .Two weeks ago, I mailed an 8-by-10-inch envelope from a Miami post office to an address in New York State. The postage was correct, as was the address and ZIP code.

One week passed and the recipient emailed to say the envelope had not arrived, so I mailed another one. Last week, he wrote to say that the second one had arrived. A few days after that he wrote again to say the one mailed earlier had finally been delivered after a 10-day delay. Normally, a first-class mailing would not have taken more than three business days.

Multiply my experience by the 100 million that could be expected from an all-mail-in election and the problem should be obvious.

President Trump has said the potential for fraud with all mail-in voting is enormous. While he has said absentee ballots are safer, The New York Daily News reported “Systematic failures at the state Board of Elections and U.S. Postal Service resulted in nearly one in 10 absentee ballots cast in the June 23 primary being invalidated.” That comes out to 84,000 out of nearly 319,000 ballots cast.

Many Democrats claim the fear over mail-in ballots is misplaced, but the evidence proves otherwise and in close elections, especially presidential elections, a few votes either way in key states can decide the winner. Trump Says He Would ‘Absolutely’ Fill a Supreme Court Vacancy Before November

President Trump indicated that he would fill a potential vacancy on the Supreme Court ahead of the election in November, as rumors of a potential retirement loom. In an interview with Hugh Hewitt, Trump said he would nominate a jurist to fill the seat quickly:

The prospect of filling a Supreme Court seat ahead of November sparks controversy on Capitol Hill, as Democrats warn Republicans of adhering to their own standard set in 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) famously declined to hold hearings for President Obama’s final nominee, Judge Merrick Garland. Hedging his bets on a GOP sweep in November of 2016, Leader McConnell argued that a justice should not be confirmed to the high court amidst divided government.
