Recent Poll Shows Half of Voters Believe Trump Will Win; Trump Supporters Against Mail-In Ballots Over Voter Fraud Concerns

By Washington Examiner. While many in the media feed off polls showing Democratic challenger Joe Biden poised for a blowout election victory, the third survey this week showed the race much closer, with just 4 points dividing the candidates.

The just-released Emerson College poll showed Biden at 50% and President Trump at 46%. The survey of 964 likely voters has a plus or minus 3.1 percentage point rating of accuracy.

And, it added, “A majority of voters, 53%, still think Trump will be reelected in November.”

It was the third poll this week to show a narrow election. (Read more from “Recent Poll Shows Half of Voters Believe Trump Will Win” HERE)

Most Trump Voters Say They Will Not Accept the 2020 Results If Biden Wins Because of Mail-In Ballots

By Yahoo News. Most Americans now believe that President Trump will not accept the results of November’s election if he loses to Joe Biden, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll — and an even larger majority of Trump voters say they too will refuse to accept a narrow loss if mail-in ballots contribute to Biden’s victory. . .

Asked whether Trump would “accept the result” if he “loses in a close election” this November, 52 percent of Americans say no. Only 25 percent say yes.

Voters who support Trump, meanwhile, share their candidate’s unfounded suspicions about postal balloting, with a full 55 percent saying they would not “accept the result” if Biden wins “because of an advantage in mail-in votes.” Only 21 percent say they would accept a Biden victory under those circumstances.

The survey, it’s worth noting, was conducted July 28 to 30, mostly before Trump’s tweet about delaying the election. If anything, these gaps will likely widen in the wake of his incendiary suggestion. Vanessa Guillen: Trump Promises Murdered Soldier’s Mother Investigation Into Her Death, to Personally Pay for Daughter’s Funeral

President Donald Trump met with the family of murdered US Army specialist Vanessa Guillen at the White House on Thursday and promised an investigation into her death. . .

“We’re going to look into it very powerfully. We already have started, as you know, and we’ll get to the bottom of it. Maybe things can come out that will help other people in a situation like Vanessa. We’ll be in touch with you constantly,” [President Trump said].

The Department of Justice, Department of Defence and FBI are investigating, according to Mr Trump. He also offered to help the family with funeral costs. . .

Her family claims she was sexually harassed by another soldier who is suspected of her murder. They are calling for justice and reform of the way that claims of sexual harassment are handled by the military.

The army disputes the claim and says there is no evidence of sexual harassment, but concedes that Ms Guillen may have experience other harassment. Donald Trump: ‘China Must Be Very Happy’ Democrats Using Coronavirus to ‘Screw up’ Election; Mike Pompeo: AG Barr Will Determine Whether to Postpone the Election

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump said Friday that China was likely delighted Democrats were trying to implement mail-in voting in the 2020 election, which he said would lead to a “catastrophic” result.

“They’re using the China virus, China must be very happy about it, because they hit us with a virus and now they screw up an election like you will never see,” Trump said about the Democrats.

The president spoke to reporters at the White House after hosting leaders of the National Association of Police Organizations on Friday to discuss law enforcement.

Trump previewed a disruptive Election Day on November 3, noting that it would take several days or even weeks to count all the ballots.

“It’s going to be a very, very sad day for this country,” Trump said. (Read more from “Donald Trump: ‘China Must Be Very Happy’ Democrats Using Coronavirus to ‘Screw up’ Election” HERE)

Mike Pompeo: AG Barr Will Determine Whether to Postpone the Election

By Law and Crime. President Donald Trump‘s baseless Thursday morning question about postponing the 2020 general election has been given new life. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggested the final decision on any such postponement hinges upon whether Attorney General Bill Barr and others at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) can find a legal justification to change the date. . .

“You are one of the most highly trained and accomplished lawyers who are part of this administration,” Kaine summarized, “Can a president delay a presidential election?”

To which Pompeo replied:

In the end, the Department of Justice, and others, will make that legal determination. We all should want–I know you do, too, Senator Kaine–want to make sure to have an election that everyone is confident in.

. . .

“It should happen lawfully,” Pompeo said–the end of his thoughts on the matter. (Read more from “Mike Pompeo: AG Barr Will Determine Whether to Postpone the Election” HERE)

Trump Doubles Down, Warns November Will Bring ‘Greatest Election Disaster in History’

By Fox News. President Trump doubled down Friday on his warnings surrounding expanded mail-in ballots, declaring November will bring the “greatest election disaster in history” a day after he controversially suggested delaying the vote.

“They think they’re going to send hundreds of millions of ballots all over the United States and it’s gonna come out,” he told reporters at the White House following a meeting with members from the National Association of Police Organizations. “You won’t know the election result for week months, maybe years after. Maybe you’ll never know the election result. That’s what I’m concerned with – it’ll be fixed. It’ll be rigged. People oughta get smart.”

He suggested people vote in person or submit absentee ballots.

“This is going to be the greatest election disaster in history,” he continued on Friday. “And by the way, you guys like to talk to about Russia and China and other places? They’ll be able to forge ballots, they’ll forge them. They’ll do whatever they have to do.” (Read more from “Trump Doubles Down, Warns November Will Bring ‘Greatest Election Disaster in History'” HERE)

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Hammers Trump for Suggesting Presidential Election May Need to be Delayed, Insists Congress Keeps Elections “Safe and Secure”

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump on Thursday predicted the 2020 election would be the “most inaccurate and fraudulent” in history, and even suggested delaying it as Democrats continue promoting vote by mail during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???” he asked on Twitter.

The president repeated mail-in voting was proving to be a “catastrophic disaster.”

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It will be a great embarrassment to the USA.”

The president also suggested mail-in voting would open up the 2020 election to foreign influence.

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Derides Trump, Says Congress Has Been Ensuring “Safe and Secure Elections”

By Newsweek. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other top Republicans flatly rejected President Donald Trump’s suggestion Thursday that the November elections should be delayed[.] . . .

Trump cannot simply “delay the election,” as he implied, because it would require congressional action. The date is set by an 1845 law and would require a constitutional amendment to postpone past December. And the president’s assertions about vote-by-mail fraud are unfounded, given the little evidence in the past few decades.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Trump confidant, said that while he feels the president’s concerns about mail-in voting are “valid,” he believes “delaying is not the right answer.”

Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) also derided Trump’s claim. “There is absolutely no reason to delay this election, and it is not going to happen,” she wrote on Twitter. “It’s incumbent on us to ensure safe and secure elections, and that’s exactly what the Congress has been doing.” (Read more from “McConnell, Republicans Split with Trump, Say the Election Can’t Be Delayed” HERE)

WATCH: Black Democratic Lawmaker Rips MSNBC Host for Asking If He’s Being Paid by the Trump Campaign

. . .In April, Rep. Jones told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he was backing Trump because of his “handling of the economy, his support for historically black colleges and his criminal justice initiatives.”

He not only voiced support for the president, he also took shots at presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, saying the former vice president has “betrayed black Americans throughout his career in Washington.” He also blasted Democrats like Biden for showing support for the black community only when the party needs their votes. . .

During a heated interview Wednesday, MSNBC’s Craig Melvin responded to Jones’ litany of reasons for supporting Trump by asking the lawmaker if he was being paid to back the president — apparently rather than being able to form his own opinions.

After accusing Jones of saying things that were “patently false” about the president’s record, Melvin asked, “Are you a paid campaign surrogate? Are you being compensated?” . . .

“Let me be clear,” he began. “You get paid to shape a liberal narrative. You get paid to attack this president. I don’t get a dime from this president. I don’t get a dime from the campaign. Everything I’ve done has been me and based on my principles.”

It Is Resistance, Not Trump, That Needs to Learn to Accept Election Results; President Trump Comments on Possible Biden VP Pick

By The Federalist. The media and Democrats have returned to their pre-2016 election talking point that Donald Trump won’t accept election results. But after nearly four years of refusing to accept their defeat in the last presidential election, it is they and other members of the Resistance who must commit to accepting election results that don’t go their way. . .

Following the inauguration, the Resistance continued to ruthlessly fight Trump’s administration of government and to perpetuate the false and damaging Russia collusion conspiracy theory, leading to a sprawling special counsel investigation. When that ended in humiliating fashion for the Resistance with no evidence of collusion, they attempted to argue that Trump complaining about falsely being accused of being a traitor meant he had obstructed justice. . .

This is all happening while prominent leftist voices are claiming that Trump is rigging the 2020 election. New York Times columnist Paul Krugman tweeted out an elaborate conspiracy theory that Trump could not win legitimately but might try to, well, steal the election. MSNBC’s John Heilemann said Trump is engaged in “a genuine attempt potentially through force to try to steal this election.”

It would be funny if it weren’t so infuriating. Actually, it’s still funny, as the satirical news site The Babylon Bee showed with their article, “‘Trump Might Not Accept The Results Of The 2020 Election,’ Says Movement That Still Hasn’t Accepted Results Of 2016 Election.”

Given what they’ve put the country through since November 2016, the groups that need to be asked if they will accept an election loss in November 2020 are the media, Democrat politicians, and other Resistance activists. Trump Says Harris Would Be ‘Fine Choice’ as Biden Running Mate

By Fox News. President Trump is weighing in on one of the likely top contenders Democratic challenger Joe Biden’s considering as his running mate

As he was departing the White House for a trip to Texas on Wednesday, the president was asked about Sen. Kamala Harris. Trump answered that the senator from California would “be a fine choice” as Biden’s vice presidential nominee.

Harris – a former Democratic presidential candidate who took aim at Biden last year on the debate stage – is considered to be one of the top contenders that the presumptive Democratic nominee is considering as his running mate.

The former vice president told reporters Tuesday in Delaware that he would choose his running mate by “the first week in August.” Saturday is the first day of the new month.

Biden has said for a couple of months that his running mate announcement would come in early August, ahead of the Democratic National Convention, which starts on Aug. 17. The former vice president told reporters, “I promise, I’ll let you know when I do.”

Seattle Police Leader Hits Back After Mayor Claims Trump Is Attempting Martial Law

Denying federal law enforcement assistance to combat violence is “unconscionable,” Seattle Police Officers Guild President Michael Solan told “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday, reacting to comments made by Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan earlier this week.

Speaking on “Erin Burnett Outfront” on CNN on Monday, Durkan said President Trump, “clearly targeted cities run by Democratic mayors. He’s said so himself.”

“He’s using law enforcement as a political tool,” Durkan continued. “I hate to say it, but I really believe that we are seeing the dry run for martial law. This is a president that is using law enforcement and federal forces for political purposes and that should be chilling to every American.”

Solan said: “Clearly what the dry run for Seattle was, the CHAZ/CHOP experience where multiple people were shot and killed.” . . .

“Now I ask for support from any local, state or federal law enforcement entity to help us in Seattle because we almost lost the ability to have less lethal tools that are effective in holding a riotous mob back,” Solan said. The Real Danger With Mail-In Voting Is Presenting Itself Clearly; Soros, Wealthy Donors Pouring Millions Into Fraud-Laced Effort

By Townhall. Say what you will about President Trump on this issue. He may not frame it right or whatever, but he is right that mail-in voting is a disaster. There is a possibility of fraud. Sorry, even The New York Times admitted that, and on top of those concerns, it’s the viability of this system. We’ve lost close to 30 million ballots in the last four elections. They’re gone. Lost forever. Still, the so-called fact-checkers say mail-in voting is pretty much fine.

In New Jersey, municipal elections in Paterson have been a disaster. One-in-five ballots were discovered to be fraudulent. Four people are being charged. In New York, their primaries from a month ago have yet to be called. As Fox News’s Brit Hume noted, it’s a “train wreck” (via NYT):

More than three weeks after the New York primaries, election officials have not yet counted an untold number of mail-in absentee ballots, leaving numerous closely watched races unresolved, including two key Democratic congressional contests.

The absentee ballot count — greatly inflated this year after the state expanded the vote-by-mail option because of the coronavirus pandemic — has been painstakingly slow, and hard to track, with no running account of the vote totals available.

In some cases, the tiny number of ballots counted has bordered on the absurd: In the 12th Congressional District, where Representative Carolyn B. Maloney is fighting for her political life against her challenger, Suraj Patel, only 800 of some 65,000 absentee ballots had been tabulated as of Wednesday, according to Mr. Patel, though thousands had been disqualified.

Wealthy Americans Pouring Millions into Mail-In Voting Effort

By AP. Deep-pocketed and often anonymous donors are pouring over $100 million into an intensifying dispute about whether it should be easier to vote by mail, a fight that could determine President Donald Trump’s fate in the November election.

In the battleground of Wisconsin, cash-strapped cities have received $6.3 million from an organization with ties to left-wing philanthropy to help expand vote by mail. . . “The pandemic has created a state of emergency,” said Laleh Ispahani, the U.S. managing director for Open Society, a network of nonprofits founded by billionaire progressive donor George Soros. “Donors who haven’t typically taken on these issues now have an interest.”

How much will be spent is unclear because many of the organizations are nonprofits that won’t disclose those details to the IRS until well after the election. Even then, many sources of money will remain unknown because such groups don’t have to disclose their donors, commonly referred to as “dark money.”

Bernie Supporter Joe Rogan Now Says He’ll Vote Trump this November, Moving to Texas

By Benjamin Fearnow. Podcast host and comedian Joe Rogan said he would rather vote for President Donald Trump than Democratic candidate Joe Biden, arguing that Trump has held up well to the pressure of the office versus Biden.

The Joe Rogan Experience host spoke at his studio Friday with Eric Weinstein, managing director of the Thiel Capital investment firm, where the two compared Trump’s behavior and “fake alpha” persona to that of a professional wrestler. The conversation veered into 2020 politics after Weinstein complained people “express themselves moronically” when they are given no choices in life. The podcast host, who last week described the former Vice President as “very old” and “stumbling,” claimed the Democratic Party “made us all morons” by promoting Biden’s campaign and potential nomination. Rogan has previously stated he would “probably vote for” Bernie Sanders.

He appeared to compliment Trump’s vitality for seemingly “not aging at all” during his time in office.

Trump Rips Joe Biden for Calling Arizona ‘an Important City’; Trump vs. Biden Polls – Here’s What You Need to Keep in Mind

By New York Post. President Trump on Sunday mocked Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden for recently calling Arizona “an important city.”

“This week you had Joe Biden call Arizona a CITY. Nothing matters with him, however, because the Opposition Party (Lamestream Media) covers everything up – especially the corruption,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

He added: “The Obama/Biden Administration is the most corrupt in history. They even spied on my campaign!” . . .

Biden mixed up Arizona’s status in a local TV interview this month. . .

Biden replied: “Oh, you’re an important city. You guys are going through hell right now, are ya?” (Read more from “Trump Rips Joe Biden for Calling Arizona ‘an Important City’” HERE)

David Bossie: Trump vs. Biden Polls – Here’s What You Need to Keep in Mind

By Fox News. President Hillary Clinton would be wrapping up her first term right now, following the earlier presidencies of Thomas Dewey, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, John Kerry and Mitt Romney if public opinion polls on presidential elections were always accurate.

All these losing presidential candidates were ahead of their opponents at some point when they campaigned for our nation’s highest office. But in the end, all lost and none made it to the Oval Office.

Keep this in mind when you read and watch all the news stories now predicting that President Trump is headed for defeat when he faces former Vice President Joe Biden in the November presidential election.

Polls are snapshots in time and far from infallible. They can vary wildly depending on who is polled, how questions are phrased and many other variables. All this is not a matter of opinion. It’s an indisputable fact.

As just one of many examples of how wrong polls often can be, 32 years ago this week The New York Times published a story with the headline  “Dukakis Lead Widens, According to New Poll.” The Times reported that Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, then the Democratic presidential nominee, was ahead of then-Vice President George H.W. Bush by an eye-popping margin of 55 percent to 38 percent in the 1988 race for president.
