Trump Pulls Plug On US Delegation’s Trip To Iran Talks

President Donald Trump canceled a planned trip by two of his envoys to Pakistan meant to facilitate peace talks with Iran nearly two months after the war began.

Trump administration Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Special Envoy for Peace Missions Jared Kushner were scheduled to travel Saturday morning to the Pakistani capital of Islamabad and participate in direct talks with an Iranian delegation. Trump, however, announced in a Saturday afternoon Truth Social post that he canceled the trip, stating it would be “[t]oo much time wasted on traveling, too much work!”

“Besides which, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their [the Iranians’] ‘leadership,’” the president added. “Nobody knows who is in charge, including them. Also, we have all the cards, they have none! If they want to talk, all they have to do is call!!!”

The White House referred the Daily Caller News Foundation to Trump’s Truth Social post when asked for comment.

About a half hour before Trump sent the post, Axios Global Affairs Correspondent Barak Ravid reported on X that Trump told him over the phone he had canceled Witkoff and Kushner’s trip “due to the Iranian position in the negotiations.” (Read more from “Trump Pulls Plug On US Delegation’s Trip To Iran Talks” HERE)

Trump DOJ Bringing Back Firing Squads for Federal Executions

On Friday, President Trump’s Department of Justice issued a memo making clear it will renew the use of firing squads in federal death penalty cases.

FOX News posted excerpts from the memo, which said, “Today, the Department of Justice acted to restore its solemn duty to seek, obtain, and implement lawful capital sentences — clearing the way for the Department to carry out executions once death-sentenced inmates have exhausted their appeals.”

It also said, “Among the actions taken are readopting the lethal injection protocol utilized during the first Trump Administration, expanding the protocol to include additional manners of execution such as the firing squad, and streamlining internal processes to expedite death penalty cases.” (Read more from “Trump DOJ Bringing Back Firing Squads for Federal Executions” HERE)

Trump is Sending a Dangerously Wrong Message on Weed

President Trump made a grave mistake in softening the federal stance on marijuana by reclassifying it as a Schedule III drug. The dangers of weed are real, insidious and growing worse.

At Trump’s direction, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on Thursday rescheduled it, removing it from the category of drugs like heroin to one for strong medicines.

Decades of propaganda seem to have convinced tens of millions of Americans that marijuana is benign, a harmless substance less worrisome than booze, cigarettes or even soda.

Increasingly legal and available around the country, pot is marketed to kids — through wacky colors, flavors and names — in a way that would horrify parents if done by gambling or porn companies.

Yet the drug has a profound impact on brain development in children, adolescents and young adults. Study after study has documented its profoundly destructive effects.

The drug disrupts cognitive functioning and brain activation concerning “working memory,” which controls how we follow instructions, solve problems and hold information, and its negative impact among regular users is long-lasting. Trump says Iran Won’t Execute 8 Women after He Demanded Their Release

President Trump announced Wednesday that Iran will no longer execute eight women after he pleaded Tuesday for their freedom — calling it “very good news” in a social media post.

“I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed. Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution.”

The announcement came hours after Trump extended a two-week cease-fire with Iran as US negotiators await Tehran’s reply to the latest American offer to end the nearly two-month conflict.

Iran’s judiciary denied that the eight women were ever set for execution, claiming that “Trump was misled once again by fake news” and that “some of them have been released, while others face charges that, if convictions are upheld, would at most result in imprisonment.” (Read more from “Trump says Iran Won’t Execute 8 Women after He Demanded Their Release” HERE)

Trump Federal Reserve Nominee Interrogated over Undisclosed Finances and Ties to Epstein

Senator Elizabeth Warren interrogated President Donald Trump’s Federal Reserve nominee, Kevin Warsh, during his confirmation hearing Tuesday.

Senator Warren focused on the nominee’s $100 million in undisclosed financial holdings, as reported by CNBC, and potential conflicts of interest.

Warsh holds two individual assets each worth more than $50 million, while his wife Jane Lauder, granddaughter of Estée Lauder cosmetics founder, maintains an estimated $1.9 billion fortune.

Warren questioned whether Warsh’s Juggernaut fund or TSDFS LLC invest in companies affiliated with Trump, entities facilitating money laundering, Chinese-controlled companies, or financing vehicles established by Jeffrey Epstein.

Although Warsh acknowledged ethics scandals have undermined the Federal Reserve’s credibility, he declined to directly answer Warren’s yes-or-no question. Instead stating, he worked with the Office of Government Ethics to lawfully divest holdings. Trump Melts Down at Major U.S. Ally After New Epstein Drama

Donald Trump attacked the British prime minister for appointing a U.S. ambassador who was ultimately fired in a scandal over the envoy’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

“Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom acknowledged that he ‘exercised wrong judgement’ when he chose his Ambassador to Washington,” Trump wrote on Truth Social late Monday night, referring to former ambassador Peter Mandelson.

“I agree, he was a really bad pick,” the president added, before somewhat confusingly signing off: “Plenty of time to recover, however!”

Starmer, whose ruling Labour Party has consistently bled support since its resounding electoral victory in 2024, now faces the most perilous challenge to his leadership to date after it emerged last week his officials had overridden internal concerns about Mandelson’s friendship with Epstein, and business ties with China, in appointing Mandelson as British ambassador to Washington. US Warns it Will Run out of Money to Pay Airport Security Workers in Coming Weeks

US airports could face a new wave of long security lines as early as May after the nation’s homeland security chief said on Tuesday that he will run ‌out of money to pay for 50,000 workers due to a partial government shutdown.

President Donald Trump in late March directed DHS to use emergency funds to pay Transportation Security Administration workers who had gone without paychecks for about six weeks, causing disruptions at US airports.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday that the money would run out by early May.

“That money is dried up if I continue down this path the first week of May, because my payroll at DHS is just over $1.6 billion every two weeks,” Mullin said.

He said after the next paycheck, “There is no more emergency fund, so the president can’t do another executive order for us to use money, because there’s no more money there.” (Read more from “US Warns it Will Run out of Money to Pay Airport Security Workers in Coming Weeks” HERE)

Trump Announces Ceasefire Extension Until Iran Submits ‘Unified Proposal’

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that, considering the Iranian government is “seriously fractured,” he is extending the ceasefire with Iran until such time Iran can submit a “unified proposal.”

A statement from the president was issued via his Truth Social account after 4:00 p.m. ET to announce the development:

Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal. I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other. President DONALD J. TRUMP

The news came after Vice President JD Vance’s trip to Islamabad for a second round of peace talks was put on hold. The New York Times reported Tuesday afternoon:

Vice President JD Vance’s diplomatic trip to Islamabad, where he was expected to press Iranian negotiators for a nuclear deal, has been put on hold after Tehran failed to respond to American negotiating positions, according to a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the situation.

Mr. Vance had been scheduled to depart Tuesday morning for the Pakistani capital, where talks were set to resume on Wednesday — the same day the fragile cease-fire between the United States and Iran is set to expire. Without an Iranian response, the official said, the diplomatic process is in effect paused, though the trip has not been canceled.

Trump’s Labor Secretary Exits Amid Investigation And Staff Exodus, White House Announces

Lori Chavez-DeRemer, President Donald Trump’s secretary for the Department of Labor, is exiting the administration amid a mass staff exodus.

Assistant to the President and White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung broke the news in a post on X, saying that Chavez-DeRemer will exit the administration to take a position in the private sector.

Trump Admin Officials Pull Democrat Inflation Tactic Amid Iran War

President Donald Trump’s administration is being accused of taking a page out of the Democrats’ playbook by blaming inflation on price gouging during the economic instability of a U.S.-Iranian war.

The strategy was employed by members of the House GOP and Trump cabinet officials at hearings on Capitol Hill earlier this week to save face over a war-born hike in the cost of living as the midterms approach.

In March, the U.S. annual inflation rate jumped to 3.3%, marking not only a large increase from the 2.4% inflation rate in both February and January, but also the highest inflation rate since reaching 4.1% in May 2023, Trending Economics shows.

Although the inflation rate is the highest it has been under either of Trump’s terms, it is still dwarfed compared to Joe Biden’s June 2022 peak of 9.1%, which gave Democrats at the time plenty of practice deflecting responsibility and placing it on greedy corporations and fat-cat businessmen.

Ahead of 2022’s midterm elections, Biden blamed the rise in gas prices on the greed of oil companies despite funding a war between Ukraine and Russia, which had resulted in a fall in supply of oil, and thus a rise in oil prices, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
