Brazil’s Supreme Court Votes Unanimously to Uphold X Ban

Tech mogul Elon Musk accused one of Brazil’s Supreme Court justices of carrying out “censorship orders” by blocking his social media platform.

Brazil’s Supreme Court voted unanimously on Monday to uphold the decision by one of its justices to ban Elon Musk’s social media platform, X.

Previously called Twitter, the ban on X began on Saturday after Musk refused to name a legal representative in Brazil in August, saying that the order by Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes was trying to enforce censorship.

But Chief Justice Luis Roberto Barroso said in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo over the weekend that “a company that refuses to name a legal representative in Brazil cannot operate in Brazilian territory”.

The collective support of the other Supreme Court justices is seen as undermining the efforts of Musk and his supporters to portray de Moraes as a renegade. (Read more from “Brazil’s Supreme Court Votes Unanimously to Uphold X Ban as Users Switch to Threads and Bluesky” HERE)

Trump Pledges to Create Elon Musk-Led ‘Government Efficiency Commission’ in Major Economic Address

During a major economic speech on Thursday, former President Donald Trump pledged to create a “government efficiency commission” spearheaded by X owner Elon Musk if elected this November.

This commission will be “tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms,” the 2024 GOP presidential nominee said during his address to The Economic Club of New York.

The announcement came days after The Washington Post reported that Trump was considering forming such a group, comprised of leading business leaders, to identify and slash wasteful government programs.

Throughout his address, the former president voiced support for lowering the corporate tax rate to 15 percent for companies “that make their product in America,” which is lower than the current 21 percent established by Republicans’ 2017 Tax Cut and Jobs Act. (The previous rate was 35 percent). He also pledged to slash at least 10 federal regulations for every new one created, expanding upon a policy enacted during his first term.

“I took care of our economy like I would take care of my own company in every decision,” Trump said. “I asked, will I create jobs here, or will I be sending jobs overseas? Will it make America richer and stronger, or will it make our country weaker and poorer? … I always put America first every single time.” (Read more from “Trump Pledges to Create Elon Musk-Led ‘Government Efficiency Commission’ in Major Economic Address” HERE)

Elon Musk’s SpaceX to Rescue Astronauts Stranded in Space

Elon Musk’s SpaceX will rescue two astronauts who have been stranded in space since June after their Boeing Starliner spacecraft encountered problems.

NASA administrator Bill Nelson announced at a press conference on Saturday that astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams will return to Earth in February of next year on the SpaceX Crew-9 mission.

Wilmore and Williams have been stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS) since their Starliner spacecraft experienced five thruster malfunctions and five helium leaks.

“NASA has decided that Butch and Sunni will return with Crew-9 next February, and that Starliner will return uncrewed,” Nelson explained.

The astronauts blasted off from Florida on June 5, and they were initially slated to return to Earth on June 13. However, NASA later announced on June 18 that they were looking to bring the astronauts home on June 26. (Read more from “Elon Musk’s SpaceX to Rescue Astronauts Stranded in Space” HERE)

Elon Musk Says Trump X Space Delayed Due to ‘Massive’ Cyberattack

X owner Elon Musk said that a “massive” cyberattack delayed his Spaces interview with former President Donald Trump on Monday night — while others noted the disruption was eerily reminiscent of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ glitch-filled presidential campaign launch on the platform the year before.

“There appears to be a massive DDOS [Distributed Denial of Service] attack on 𝕏. Working on shutting it down,” Musk posted 18 minutes after the scheduled start time for the interview.

“Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later,” he said, claiming to have tested the Space earlier Monday with “8 million concurrent listeners.”

Reps for X did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but company insiders spilled to the Verge that likely no such cyberattack took place. . .

The conversation kicked off a little after 8:40 p.m., with the X owner saying, “As this massive attack illustrates, there’s a lot of opposition to people just hearing what President Trump has to say.” (Read more from “Elon Musk Says Trump X Space Delayed Due to ‘Massive’ Cyberattack” HERE)

Elon Musk: ‘Kamala is Quite Literally a Communist’

Elon Musk has posted on social media a simple statement regarding his opinion about Kamala Harris. . .

His statement wasn’t complicated: “Kamala is quite literally a communist. She wants not merely equal opportunity, but equal outcomes.”

Musk then cites the social media page of a group called AsTheWorldBurnz, which has documented the Harris agenda.

It includes: abolishing ICE. decriminalizing illegal crossings, defunding the police, mandatory gun buy backs (confiscations), nationalizing energy, banning fracking, banning off shore drilling, abolishing the filibuster.

Of course, in recent days as Harris tries to create an image as a legitimate presidential candidate, she’s been reversing course on some of her longheld positions. But the Twitter posting included the receipts for Harris’s extremism.

Neuralink Implanted Second Trial Patient With Brain Chip, Musk Says

Neuralink has successfully implanted in a second patient its device designed to give paralyzed patients the ability to use digital devices by thinking alone, according to the startup’s owner Elon Musk.

Neuralink is in the process of testing its device, which is intended to help people with spinal cord injuries.

The device has allowed the first patient to play video games, browse the internet, post on social media and move a cursor on his laptop.

Musk, in comments made during a podcast released late on Friday that ran more than eight hours, gave few details about the second participant beyond saying the person had a spinal cord injury similar to the first patient, who was paralyzed in a diving accident. Musk said 400 of the implant’s electrodes on the second patient’s brain are working. Neuralink on its website states that its implant uses 1,024 electrodes.

“I don’t want to jinx it but it seems to have gone extremely well with the second implant,” Musk told podcast host Lex Fridman. “There’s a lot of signal, a lot of electrodes. It’s working very well.” (Read more from “Neuralink Implanted Second Trial Patient With Brain Chip, Musk Says” HERE)

‘Killed by the Woke Mind Virus’: Elon Musk Opens Up About Eldest Son Coming Out as Trans

Billionaire Elon Musk opened up Monday about his biological son coming out as transgender, telling prominent Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson that his son was “killed by the woke mind virus.”

During the discussion hosted by Peterson, the psychologist brought up Musk’s recent move to pull his company’s headquarters, SpaceX, from California after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the new Assembly Bill 1955, which allows schools to refrain from notifying parents of their child’s sexuality or gender identity. Musk explained his decision on the move, leading to Peterson questioning him on why he was willing to make “gender affirming care” an “issue.”

“It happened to one of my older boys, where I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier. This was before I really had any understanding of what was going on. We had COVID going on,” Musk said. “I was told Xavier might commit suicide.”

“That was a lie right from the outset,” Peterson responded. “No reliable clinician ever believed that. There was never any evidence for that, and also if there’s a higher suicide rate, the reason is because the underlying depression and anxiety, not because of the gender dysphoria. And every g******n clinician knows that.” . . .

“So I was tricked into doing this. It wasn’t explained to me that puberty blockers are actually just sterilization drugs,” Musk continued. “So I lost my son essentially. They call it dead naming for a reason. The reason it’s called dead naming is because your son is dead. So my son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.” (Read more from “‘Killed by the Woke Mind Virus’: Elon Musk Opens Up About Eldest Son Coming Out as Trans” HERE)

Elon Musk Takes Several Shots at Crowdstrike After Global Outage — Including Taking Aim at Company’s DEI Policy

Billionaire X owner Elon Musk took several shots at CrowdStrike after a software update gone wrong caused what is believed to the biggest IT outage ever — including one that took aim at the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion policy.

A fix for the glitch caused by cybsersecurity provider CrowdStrike’s falty update was deployed and most services at hospitals, banks and other businesses that use Microsoft products were restored, though airlines worldwide continued to struggle to recover Saturday.

Musk apparently dug through old CrowdStrike posts on X after the crash, and came up with one from March 2022, announcing its participation in a panel discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Musk also let everyone on X know that “we just deleted CrowdStrike from all our systems, so no rollouts at all.”

Musk went all in for President Trump after the assassination attempt last week, fully endorsing him. (Read more from “Elon Musk Takes Several Shots at Crowdstrike After Global Outage — Including Taking Aim at Company’s DEI Policy” HERE)
