Former Facebook CEO Urges Users to ‘Delete the App’

The former chief executive of Facebook’s Australian business urged users to delete the social network’s app in response to Mark Zuckerberg’s “sad” decision to block news from the platform in the country.

Stephen Scheeler, the ex-boss of Facebook Australia and New Zealand, said in an interview that Facebook’s controversial move “looks and feels ugly” and blasted CEO Zuckerberg’s motivations.

“It shouldn’t have happened. But unfortunately it did,” Scheeler told The Australian. “But there’s no good answers … But at Facebook nobody ever loses their jobs.”

“I’m a proud ex-Facebooker, but over the years I get more and more exasperated. For Facebook and Mark it’s too much about the money, and the power, and not about the good,” Scheeler said. “Imagine if a Chinese company for example had done this, we would be up in arms. All Australians should be quite alarmed by this.”

Christian Actor Says Facebook Deleted His Page With Over 500,000 Followers

Christian actor Kevin Sorbo said that Facebook deleted his page despite his having more than 500,000 followers, and the company didn’t respond to a request for an explanation for the action.

That page has since gained far fewer followers with only about 2,200.

Sorbo is best known for his role in the TV series “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys,” but he is also an outspoken Christian and a critic of liberalism.

Among those posts deleted was a comment by Sorbo in Sept. 2018 where he criticized Nike for their campaign featuring former NFL player and activist Colin Kaepernick.

Report: Facebook Permanently Bans Pro-Gun Group Without Explanation

In another concerning example of Big Tech censorship of conservatives, Facebook reportedly removed a pro-Second Amendment group’s page from its platform this week without providing an explanation. . .

Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, an active gun-rights advocacy group in the commonwealth, told the Washington Free Beacon that the group’s page suddenly disappeared on Tuesday without any note from the tech giant.

In a statement, Facebook acknowledged the removal, calling its decision final, but made no mention as to why the action was taken.

“This was correctly actioned and we will not be republishing,” Facebook spokeswoman Kristen Morea said. According to the Free Beacon, Morea “declined to elaborate on the decision.”

Facebook confirmed the action to TheBlaze, noting that the page was removed and administrators were disabled for violating the company’s Community Standards. A Facebook “group” operated by VCDL remains active on the platform. Facebook added that its removal of the page came after employees re-reviewed their original action to remove violating content found on the page. Report: Facebook Preparing Antitrust Lawsuit Against Apple

A recent report from the Information claims that tech giant Facebook plans to take on rival Apple in an antitrust lawsuit related to its iOS 14 privacy features. A lawsuit would be a dramatic escalation to the war of words between the Masters of the Universe over user privacy.

A recent report from the Information alleges that Facebook is planning to take fellow tech giant Apple to court over allegations of antitrust relating to Apple’s iOS 14 privacy features. Facebook has reportedly been working with outside legal counsel to prepare an antitrust lawsuit against Apple that claims the iPhone manufacturer “abused its power in the smartphone market by forcing app developers to abide by App Store rules that Apple’s own apps don’t have to follow.”

The report explains that Facebook’s lawsuit is likely to focus on the changes Apple introduced in iOS 14 which include the App Tracking Transparency feature, which will launch within the next few months and require users to permit apps to track their data.

Married Police Chief Exposed on City’s Facebook for Having Two Mistresses

. . .A married Texas police chief and father of four has been placed under social media arrest by his girlfriend for allegedly leading a “double/triple life” with at least two mistresses. The scorned woman aired his dirty laundry in a Facebook post with over 37,000 shares.

The scandal came to light after Jason Collier, 41, chief of the Stinnett Police Department, uploaded a since-deleted Facebook post commemorating his anniversary with his wife Opal, the Heavy reported.

Things went south for him after one of Collier’s girlfriends, Cecily Steinmetz — who likely saw the adoring post — exposed his triple-infidelity in the blistering message on the City of Stinnett Facebook page. The post included romantic snaps of Steinmetz and the adulterous cop.

“Chief Jason Collier is living a double/triple life,” wrote the Amarillo native. “I was his girlfriend until yesterday.”

Steinmetz continued, “He lied to me and presented me with fake annulment documents when I found out he was married. I also found out about a 2nd girlfriend, Kristi, last night. Donald Trump’s Facebook Gets Almost 200,000 Likes Despite Being Blocked

Donald Trump’s Facebook page attracted almost 200,000 likes over the past two weeks despite being “indefinitely” blocked from posting.

The president—who will exit the White House on Wednesday following the inauguration of Joe Biden—was effectively exiled from mainstream social media platforms this month after a mob of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6.

Unlike Twitter, which removed Trump’s account from view amid a suspension, Facebook kept his profiles visible but ruled they would no longer be able to post status updates. Both platforms said allowing Trump to post risked inciting further violence.

While the president’s frequent outbursts on social media have been silenced, the moves have not stopped his Facebook profile from gaining new likes in the days since, according to statistics compiled by U.S. analytics company Social Blade. Former Facebook Executive: ‘Conservative’ News Outlets Need To Be Deplatformed (VIDEO)

The assault on freedom of speech in America is accelerating, with a former Facebook executive calling for news outlets on the political right to be deplatformed by telecom giants including Comcast, AT&T and Verizon.

The stunning remarks Sunday came from Alex Stamos, the former chief security officer at Facebook, during an appearance on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”

“We have to turn down the capability of these conservative influencers to reach these huge audiences,” Stamos declared.

“There are people on YouTube for example that have a larger audience than daytime CNN, and they are extremely radical and pushing extremely radical views. So it’s up to the Facebooks and YouTubes in particular to think about whether or not they want to be effectively cable networks for disinformation.”

Facebook Banning All Mentions of ‘Stop the Steal’ Ahead of Biden Inauguration

Facebook said Monday it is removing all content containing the phrase “stop the steal[.]”

The phrase refers to President Trump’s false claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. Trump supporters also organized a rally in November after the election called “Stop the Steal” that drew thousands of Trump supporters to the nation’s capital.

“We’re removing content containing the phrase ‘stop the steal’ under our Coordinating Harm policy from Facebook & Instagram,” Facebook announced in a press release on Monday afternoon.

LeeAnn Miller would like an explanation from Facebook after the ad account for her business was disabled by the tech giant seemingly for no other reason than being patriotic. . .

The trouble with Facebook began the day after the election.

Miller, in partnership with Quantify, a business development firm, had advertised her products on Facebook. PatrioticMe’s advertisement was simple. It was made to look like a Facebook post with text before pictures featuring models wearing items for sale. . .

On Nov. 4, 2020, she received an email from the Facebook Ads Team informing her that her advertisements did not comply with Facebook’s advertising policies or other standards. . .

Instead of providing her with guidance as to which policies PatrioticMe’s ad violated, the email provided Miller with a link to the page outlining the entirety of Facebook’s advertising policies. She was also given two options: To take an “e-learning Blueprint course” called “Ad Policies for Content, Creative, and Targeting” to learn about the entirety of Facebook’s advertising policies, or to request a review of her ad account if she believed it shouldn’t be disabled. U.S. Internet Provider To Block Twitter, Facebook; Facebook Removing All Content That Mentions ‘Stop the Steal’ Ahead of Inauguration Day

In the wake of Twitter and Facebook banning President Donald Trump following the U.S. Capitol siege that leftists — and some conservatives — say Trump incited, an internet provider in Idaho says it’s blocking Twitter and Facebook for customers who request it, KREM-TV reported.

The station said Your T1 WIFI provides internet services to North Idaho and the Spokane, Washington, area — and that it got calls from customers about both social media sites. . .

At first the internet provider said it would block Facebook and Twitter outright unless customers specifically asked Your T1 WIFI to allow Twitter and Facebook to be viewed — but KREM said the internet provider changed its approach Monday and said Twitter and Facebook would be blocked only for those who request such an action. Facebook Removing All Content That Mentions ‘Stop the Steal’ Ahead of Inauguration Day

By The Epoch Times. Facebook announced on Monday it is removing all content that contains the phrase “stop the steal” ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day on Jan. 20.

The company issued a statement saying it was removing content containing the phrase that was used by supporters of President Donald Trump to question the integrity of the 2020 general election. Trump supporters held multiple rallies across the country called “Stop the Steal” following the Nov. 3 election.

The social media company said that the move is an attempt to remove content that “could incite further violence during these next few weeks.” Content will be removed under the company’s Coordinating Harm policy.
