French Senators Call For Ban On Child Transgender Medical Services

A group of senators in France is calling for a ban on transgender medical services for children.

Led by Senator Jacqueline Eustache-Brinio of the French political party, The Republicans, the group released a report Tuesday sounding the alarm about children receiving puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender surgeries which can mean double mastectomies and genital surgery.

The lengthy 340-page report calls medically transitioning minors “one of the greatest ethical scandals in the history of medicine” and accuses transgender activists of pushing medical gender transition on children through aggressive social media campaigns.

France’s High Authority of Health is expected to make a recommendation on transgender medical services for minors soon, the European Conservative reported.

However, the French senators see the issue as urgent and said they plan to propose a bill before the summer to ban puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender surgeries for minors being treated for “gender dysphoria.”

Pro-Life Tragedy: France Embeds Abortion in Constitution, Other Nations Will Follow

In an overwhelming 780-72 vote, the French parliament has just enshrined a “right” to abortion in the nation’s constitution. It is the first country in the world to do so.

Why? Was there a push to outlaw abortion, which has been legal in France since the 1970s? Was there an effort to lower France’s gestational restriction, which had recently expanded abortion from 12 weeks to 16 weeks of pregnancy? No and no. The push to make abortion a constitutional right was a direct response to the United States Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022.

It could be tempting to write off this development. Abortion wasn’t “threatened” in any way in France. Speaking to Reuters, Association of Catholic Families President Pascale Moriniere put it bluntly: “We imported a debate that is not French,” casting the entire exercise as “an effect of panic from feminist movements.”

The BBC noted that some jurists in France actually believed that abortion was already a constitutional right. If the change to the constitution isn’t actually, well, changing much, is this simply another example of liberal “virtue-signaling”?

It would be a mistake to shrug our shoulders or chuckle that Justice Samuel Alito (who wrote the Dobbs v. Jackson decision overturning Roe) lives rent-free in the heads of liberals across the pond just like he does here at home. Farmer Revolution: Blockade of Paris Announced as Farmers Reject Government’s ‘Concessions’ (VIDEO)

Calls for revolution are in the air of France once again as farmers have vowed to continue their tractor protests against the globalist green agenda with a planned blockade of Paris after rejecting “concessions” from the government.

After a week of shutting down motorways across the country, forcing politicians of all stripes to come to meet them on their turf, the farmer uprising is set to descend upon the French capital as they were unimpressed by the compromises proposed by newly-installed Prime Minister Gabriel Attall.

With their demands not being met, farmers have decided to ramp up the pressure on the metropolitan liberal elites who vote for green agenda policies without feeling the consequences and allowing the rural population to suffer.

What is being dubbed as the “siege of Paris”, farmers are planning on shutting down at least seven critical entry points to the city and have hinted at enacting a blockade of the Rungis Market, the second largest wholesale food market in the world which serves as the main hub for food deliveries into Paris.

“The idea is that there are no trucks that can serve the capital, to ensure that no product enters Paris, to make Parisians understand that they need farmers to live. I say to our friends in the capital region: it’s going to be a long week,” the head of the Young Farmers Union Maxime Buizard said per Le Figaro.

France Bans Pro-Palestinian Rallies – Will Arrest and Deport ‘Trouble Makers’

The French government announced it was banning pro-Palestinian protests on Thursday, explaining they cause a disturbance to public order and give rise to racial hatred. Paris announced it would arrest organisers and deport “trouble makers.”

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin wrote to the nation’s departments and regions on Thursday, informing them he had banned “pro-Palestinian demonstrations” because they are “likely to generate disturbances to public order,” the Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported on Thursday, claiming to have had sight of his communication to regional leaders.

A Parisian court had already ruled that police blocking a specific pro-Palestinian rally in the city this week was lawful and proportionate because the judges found a high likelihood of it giving rise to “attitudes, words, and gestures of an anti-Jeiwsh nature, [including] inciting racial hatred and advocating for terrorist attacks,” reports broadcaster RTL.

In Darmanin’s reportedly instructions were specific instructions to dole out harsh repercussions for those who flouted the ban and staged rallies. Police should arrest organisers and what he called “troublemakers.” He advised that “foreign perpetrators” of antisemitism causing trouble at pro-Palestinian protests should have their residence permits revoked and be deported “without delay.” (Read more from “France Bans Pro-Palestinian Rallies – Will Arrest and Deport ‘Trouble Makers’” HERE)

China Touts ‘Partnership’ With France as Macron Charts Path Separate From U.S.

French President Emmanuel Macron renewed his call for “strategic autonomy” from the United States in the Indo-Pacific, forcing U.S. officials to downplay an apparent rift while China touts a “comprehensive strategic partner” with the oldest American ally.

“NATO has recognized the PRC’s stated ambitions and policies,” State Department deputy spokesman Vedanta Patel told reporters Monday. “They challenge our interests, they challenge our security, and they challenge our values. And allies, including France, have committed to work together to address these systemic challenges.”

Macron went to Beijing last week with the stated purpose of urging Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping to undercut Russia’s war in Ukraine, a trip that European Union leaders hoped would show that the EU “stands united, and our trans-Atlantic community remains also united,” as EU High Representative Josep Borrell put it. Yet Macron punctuated his visit with a renewal of his call for “strategic autonomy” from the U.S. — particularly concerning China and the tensions around Taiwan.

“The question Europeans need to answer … is it in our interest to accelerate [a crisis] on Taiwan? No. The worse thing would be to think that we Europeans must become followers on this topic and take our cue from the U.S. agenda and a Chinese overreaction,” Macron told reporters in his traveling party. Court Orders Removal of Virgin Mary Statue

A French court ordered on Friday the removal of a statue of the Virgin Mary from a small town on the grounds that its display violates the separation of church and state.

The court’s order ended four decades of the statue’s display at a crossroads in La Flotte, France, a town of about 2,800 people, according to Agence France Presse (AFP). A local family originally erected the statue after World War II in gratitude for a father and son’s safe return from the war, the outlet reported. A private garden first housed the statue, until the family gifted it to the town and saw its placement at the crossroads in 1983.

The statue sustained damage after it was struck by a passing car in 2020, the outlet noted. Its restoration included the addition of a platform, a move which drew the attention of of an organization that advocates for the defense of secularity. La Libre Pensee 17 filed a complaint, citing a 1905 French law that forbids the display of religious monuments in public places. (Read more from “Court Orders Removal of Virgin Mary Statue” HERE)

Biden Says French President Macron Didn’t Take His Call, Spoke With Staff

President Biden said Monday that French President Emmanuel Macron didn’t take his call to congratulate the French leader on his election night victory.

Mr. Biden said he spoke with Mr. Macron’s staff when he tried to reach the French president Sunday night and he’ll try again Monday.

“I feel good about the French election,” Mr. Biden told reporters after returning to Washington from a weekend trip in Delaware. “I tried to talk to him last night. I spoke to his staff and he was at the Eiffel Tower having a good time. And I’m going to be talking to him today.” (Read more from “Biden Says French President Macron Didn’t Take His Call, Spoke With Staff” HERE)

President of Major European Nation Wins Re-Election

French President Emmanuel Macron was re-elected for a second term Sunday, defeating right-wing challenger Marine Le Pen.

Macron’s re-election designates him as the only French president in 20 years to win a second term. Voter turnout was also the lowest in decades, at around 72%, and only two percent lower than the 2017 election, when Macron beat Le Pen 66% to 34%, Axios reported.

Le Pen has since conceded defeat, but said the results indicated that “winds of change afoot,” and that she would continue to “stand up for the French people,” and against Macron, whose policies she said would “destroy France,” Axios noted.

Le Pen has attempted to rebrand herself and her party in recent years, Axios noted, but Macron insisted that her policies would divide France and make it a more hostile country toward minorities. He cited Le Pen’s plan to ban headscarves for Muslim women, stating that it could “create a civil war” during a Wednesday presidential debate. Macron also hammered Le Pen over her supposed ties to Russia.

Macron’s re-election comes amid grim approval ratings. Morning Consult recorded Macron’s approval rating at just 36%, while 59% disapproved of his performance and five percent remained undecided. (Read more from “President of Major European Nation Wins Re-Election” HERE)

‘We Should Not Escalate’: French President Complains After Biden Calls Putin a ‘Butcher’ (VIDEO)

French President Emmanuel Macron lamented President Joe Biden’s choice of words during an interview, arguing that it could be escalatory to call Russian President Vladimir Putin out directly over multiple reports of war crimes in Ukraine.

Reporting site Visegrad 24 tweeted video of Macron along with the caption, “Macron is criticizing Biden for calling Putin ‘a butcher.’ The French president says it’s not constructive. ‘I would not use that kind of language. If a ceasefire is to be brokered, we must not escalate — neither through words nor actions.’”

Macron appeared to be suggesting that it was more important to keep an open dialogue with Putin than to be forthright about the actions he has either permitted or expressly ordered as his occupation forces continue their invasion of Ukraine.

“Macron warned against calling Putin a ‘butcher.’ ‘I wouldn’t use terms like that because I’m still in talks with President Putin,’ the French President said during an interview. Prior, U.S. President Joe Biden called Putin a ‘butcher,’ a ‘murderous dictator’ & ‘a pure thug,’” the Kyiv Independent reported. Major Western Nation to Build Up to 14 New Nuclear Reactors

French President Emmanuel Macron announced Thursday that his government would add at least six nuclear power plants to its arsenal in the coming decades.

“We are fortunate in France to be able to count on a strong nuclear industry, rich in know-how and with hundreds of thousands of jobs,” Macron said during remarks in the city of Belfort earlier in the day, France 24 reported.

“What we have to build today is the renaissance of the French nuclear industry because it’s the right moment, because it’s the right thing for our nation, because everything is in place,” Macron said.

Nuclear power, which France has relied on more than most Western nations, is at the center of the country’s net zero ambitions, according to France 24.

Macron said the government would study plans for another eight reactors, potentially increasing the number of new plants to 14 within the coming decades, France 24 reported. The first new-generation plant would reportedly begin generating power by 2035. (Read more from “Major Western Nation to Build Up to 14 New Nuclear Reactors” HERE)
