Video: One Day Before Election, Biden Forgets Obama’s Name

By Toby Harnden. Vice President Joe Biden, who has previously misremembered what state and what century he was in, now seems to have forgotten that Barack Obama is the president.

Speaking to a crowd of 1,200 people at a high school in Lakewood, Ohio, Biden was slamming a ‘pernicious’ Mitt Romney ad claiming that Jeep will move jobs out of Ohio to China.

The vice-president said that the ad claimed that ‘President Clinton bankrupted Chrysler so that Italians could buy it to ship jobs overseas to China.’

Bill Clinton was the 42nd president of the U.S. and left office in January 2001. Barack Obama became the 44th president in January 2009 and for the past nearly four years Biden has served as his vice-president.

In Biden’s defense, there was perhaps a Freudian element to the slip. Clinton, who previously enjoyed testy relations with Obama, has been mobilised by the current president to be his most prominent campaigner and the two men made joint appearances in Virginia on Saturday and New Hampshire on Sunday. Biden at it Again: Asks Man if He’s Indian, Man Says “No, American” (+videos)

Vice President Joe Biden seems to have a problem with Indian immigrants. From using a fake Indian accent – mimicking a foreign call center – to saying you couldn’t go to “a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent,” he’s constantly putting his foot in his mouth.

It happened again yesterday. The Deccan Herald reported that, during a campaign stop at a restaurant in Florida,

Biden, out of the blue, asked a man at the restaurant, “Are you Indian?”.

The conversation happened when a woman at the restaurant was telling what her brother– a Republican, told her last night after she posed for a picture with the Vice President.

The woman told the Vice President, “You know what he said to me? He said you’ve got to watch ‘2016’ and we watched it last night. He said if you watch that, he said you’re going to vote Republican.”

The woman was referring to the anti-Obama movie “2016 Obama’s America” which has been made by Dinesh D’Souza, an Indian-American, and has become very popular among the Republicans.

At that point a man angling for Biden’s attention shouted, “You’ve got to get a picture with some guys!” Biden did turn to a group of guys then. To one of the men, he asked: “Are you Indian?”

“American!” the man responded, according to a White House pool report.

Although you’ve probably already seen these, here’s a quick video reminder on Biden’s past Indian-gaffes. The first video is of Biden’s statement that you can’t go to “a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent”:

The second is of Biden employing an Indian accent in mimicking a foreign call center:

For the third time, Obama made a major gaffe regarding sending US jobs overseas.

Earlier this month, Obama stated that to fix the economy, we must “export more jobs.”

He said the same thing just two weeks before that.

Although the press unsurprisingly hasn’t made an issue of it, Obama’s gaffes are arguably as significant, and increasingly as frequent, as Biden’s.

Here’s the clip from Obama’s Colorado campaign event yesterday. Note the cheering immediately after his China comment:

Some think these “gaffes” are subliminal reflections of Obama’s true opinion. As we reported a few weeks ago, Obama has actually forced the export of some US jobs already.

Video: Obama Says It Again – Wants to “Export More Jobs”

In an apparent game of catch-up with gaffe-prone Biden, Obama says that to fix the economy, we must “export more jobs.”

Keep in mind, this is the second time in two weeks that Obama has done this. The first time was at Kent State where Obama tried to recover by saying that he was “channeling Mitt Romney.

Of course, Obama’s tendency to slip up and say that he wants to export U.S. jobs has a connection with reality. As we noted a few days ago, he forced the export of US jobs with respect to Gibson guitars.

Here’s the video of yesterday’s gaffe:

Undoubtedly, Al Gore is probably blaming this one on Denver’s altitude, too.

Newt Gingrich, in exceptional form, absolutely owns this Meet the Press panel.

He cites the media double-standard with Biden gaffes, Obama’s infanticide position, and other issues.

Rep. Paul Ryan received a rousing welcome at this Ohio campaign stop and then poked some fun at Vice President Biden’s expense.

The same day, Vice President Biden attempts to slam Rep. Ryan but then commits yet another gaffe:
