Georgia’s Elected Republicans on Trump Indictment: We Told You, No Fraud

Georgia’s leading elected state officials, who are Republicans, reacted Tuesday to Monday’s late-night indictment of former President Donald Trump and 18 other lawyers, aides, and supporters by reiterating that there was no voter fraud in 2020.

Gov. Brian Kemp (R) posted a tweet in response to a Truth Social post by the former president. Kemp did not object to the indictment — which critics have said violates constitutional norms and criminalizes free speech — but to Trump’s 2020 claims.

Secretary of State Brad Raffesnperger, whose infamous phone conversation with Trump (in which the former president said “I just want to find” the votes to win, not “Find me the votes”) helped trigger the grand jury investigation, made a statement: “The most basic principles of a strong democracy are accountability and respect for the Constitution and rule of law. You either have it, or you don’t.”

The 98-page indictment revealed that Trump and 18 other co-defendants were indicted.

Among those indicted include former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Shafer, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R).

As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution detailed:

Also indicted Tuesday were Trump co-defendants: state Sen. Veteran Sues Police Officer After Being Arrested for Holding ‘God Bless the Homeless Vets’ Sign

A third lawsuit was filed Monday against the police officer who arrested a veteran for holding a “God Bless the Homeless Vets” sign outside of a city hall building in Georgia, according to the watchdog group that filed the lawsuit.

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), a free speech advocacy group that provides legal defense, filed a lawsuit on behalf of Jeff Gray alleging that Port Wentworth police officer Robert Hemminger knew that Gray was within his constitutional rights to protest when he arrested him in 2021, according to the lawsuit. This marks the third lawsuit that FIRE has filed on behalf of Gray after the organization previously challenged another arrest of his and a citation he received.

“In Port Wentworth, Georgia, my rights were violated upon the whim of government employees,” Gray said, according to FIRE. “Now I am honored to be working with FIRE to ensure that never happens again.”

“Port Wentworth Police Sgt. Robert Hemminger knew that Jeffrey Gray wasn’t doing anything wrong or unlawful when Gray stood outside of Port Wentworth’s City Hall displaying a sign reading ‘God Bless the Homeless Vets,’ the lawsuit states. “Sgt. Hemminger told Gray as much, and he told the employees inside City Hall the same thing: Gray was not doing anything wrong.”

Gray’s activity was within his First Amendment rights as well as a declaration of the space outside the city hall as a public forum, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit is also seeking compensatory and punitive damages for Gray along with attorney’s fees in an amount to be decided at trial. Democrat Rep. Switches Parties: Democrats ‘Crucified Me’ and Abuse the Black Community

A Georgia Democrat state representative announced that she is switching parties after her leftist colleagues “crucified” her when she chose to support school choice, adding that the Democrat Party has “gotten away with using and abusing the black community.”

State Rep. Mesha Mainor, who represents District 56 in the Peach State, announced on Tuesday that she is officially switching her party registration from Democrat to Republican following a tumultuous relationship with her colleagues.

“…today I made the decision to leave the Democrat Party. I represent a blue district in the city of Atlanta so this wasn’t a political decision for me. It was a MORAL one,” she said in a social media post. . .

“When I decided to stand up on behalf of disadvantaged children in support of school choice, my Democrat colleagues didn’t stand by me,” Mainor told Fox News Digital, asserting that her Democrat colleagues “crucified” her for supporting school choice and standing against efforts to defund police. She said she has always stood as the type of politician who will “work across the aisle to deliver results for my community and the people I was elected to represent.” But her leftist colleagues did not support her.

“They abandoned me,” she said, explaining again that her decision to leave the Democrat Party is not a political decision but a moral one. (Read more from “Democrat Rep. Switches Parties: Democrats ‘Crucified Me’ and Abuse the Black Community” HERE)

Lululemon Fires Atlanta Employees for Calling Police During Robbery

Two female employees were fired from a Georgia store branch of the “athleisure” brand Lululemon for confronting store robbers and calling local law enforcement on them.

Jennifer Ferguson, a former assistant manager of the Lululemon store in Peachtree Corners in Atlanta, recorded a thirty-second video of a group of men wearing face coverings entering the store in broad daylight and stealing clothing from the upscale retailer.

“No, no, no, you can march back out,” Ferguson shouts at the thieves during the robbery.

The group, which had reportedly burglarized the store nearly a dozen times previously, were unfazed by her bravery. . .

However, Ferguson and fellow employee Rachel Rogers apparently violated Lululemon’s corporate policy by notifying the Gwinnett Police Department about the incident. (Read more from “Lululemon Fires Atlanta Employees for Calling Police During Robbery” HERE)

Jail Transfers 600 Inmates After Man Was Allegedly Eaten Alive by Insects

The Fulton County Jail in Georgia is transferring more than 600 inmates and releasing an emergency $500,000 expenditure to address overcrowding issues after a man with schizophrenia was allegedly eaten alive by bugs in his cell.

The move comes days after deceased inmate Lashawn Thompson’s family filed a lawsuit against the jail after the 35-year-old, who had schizophrenia, was apparently eaten alive by bedbugs and other insects.

“It’s no secret that the dilapidated and rapidly eroding conditions of the current facility make it incredibly difficult to meet the goal of providing a safe, clean, well-maintained and healthy environment for all inmates and staff,” Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said in a Sunday statement. “Without making explicit statements about Mr. Thompson’s health, it’s fair to say that this is one of many cases that illustrate the desperate need for expanded and better mental health services.”

On Monday, Labat “asked for, received, and accepted the resignations of the Chief Jailer, Assistant Chief Jailer and Assistant Chief Jailer, Criminal Investigative Division,” according to a press release. Trump Attorneys Warn Of Improper Relationship In ‘Compromised’ Georgia Election Probe (VIDEO)

Former President Donald Trump‘s lawyers say the 2020 election inquiry in Georgia has become jeopardized, raising the question of whether the investigating district attorney’s team should be removed from the case.

Attorneys Drew Findling and Jennifer Little appeared for an interview with CBS News after the leader of an Atlanta-based special grand jury stirred controversy with a media tour. But the outspoken special grand jury forewoman, Emily Kohrs, isn’t the problem so much as the entire inquiry, they argued to reporter Robert Costa.

“This 30-year-old foreperson to us has actually provided us a lens and made us aware that every suspicion we had as to this questionable process was, in fact, a reality,” Little said in the interview that aired Sunday on “Face the Nation.”

Little declared they have “lost 100% confidence” in the investigation into whether Trump and his allies illegally interfered in the last presidential contest. “We feel this process has been compromised,” Little added.

Alleged Pedophiles in Homosexual Lovers’ Quarrel Could Turn on Each Other

As the groundwork is being laid for the Georgia child-prostitution-and-pornography trial of Zachary and William Zulock, an activist LGBTQ couple facing multiple life sentences for allegedly raping, filming, and pimping out their adopted 9- and 11-year-old sons to other gay men in a suburban pedophile ring, one of the co-defendants is considering a plea deal, Townhall has learned.

From behind bars, Zachary divulged in a secret handwritten letter to an “old co-worker” and a former roommate that he is willing to arrange a plea agreement for reduced prison time, as Tuesday’s update on the stomach-churning Zulock case revealed. “Let’s…contact the DA directly maybe and try to set a deal,” Zachary, who has pled not guilty, wrote in the confidential note.

After his “numerous” failed attempts to personally negotiate with the Walton County district attorney, Zachary was advised to “proceed cautiously,” “speak little,” and take heed that any communications—written or spoken—”can be used against you” in a court of law. “i was trying so hard to get the […] DA involved and hear my side and work with me, its just so hard to do it from inside here,” Zachary pleaded in messages to a relative, whose whistleblowing has since sparked a firestorm in the courtroom.

A gag order was proposed by the prosecution at a pair of back-to-back motion hearings on Feb. 1 where Judge Jeffrey Foster sternly warned the Zulock co-defendants to be “much more guarded” with third-party conversations “in light of the circumstances,” referring to their taped jail calls and text exchanges with the family member that have been leaked to Townhall. Grand Jury Forewoman in Trump Case Goes on Bizarre Media Tour, Panicking Left

The forewoman of the Georgia grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump has appeared repeatedly on television, laughing about the investigation and apparently hinting at what the jury has decided before any indictments have been handed down, a move progressives fear could derail any possible criminal case against Trump.

Emily Kohrs revealed her identity on Tuesday and has done interviews with The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, MSNBC and CNN about her experience on the jury, which met between May and January to discuss Trump’s alleged interference in the 2020 election.

Kohrs — the only juror to come forward — told the Journal-Constitution that she felt “amazement at the media attention she had received over the last several hours.”

Kohrs laughed when CNN asked her how many people the jury recommended for indictment.

“I’m hesitant to speak to something that the judge made a decision not to share … The sections [of the grand jury report] that were removed were consciously chosen to be removed, and I don’t want to say ‘I have better judgment than the judge,’” Kohrs said while smiling and rolling her eyes. Georgia Police Officer Who Wrote ‘God Designed Marriage’ Was Forced Out Over Christian Beliefs, Attorneys Say

Attorneys representing a former Georgia police officer who expressed his Christian beliefs on social media say he was forced out of his job because of religious discrimination.

Port Wentworth Police Officer Jacob Kersey resigned in January after being told by his supervisors he could be terminated for sharing his religious views on marriage.

Kersey, 19, was placed on paid administrative leave following his refusal to take down a Facebook post from two days earlier in which he paraphrased the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus.

“God designed marriage. Marriage refers to Christ and the church. That’s why there is no such thing as homosexual marriage,” he wrote.

According to attorneys with First Liberty Institute in Plano, Texas, Kersey was given a letter of notification that warned him he could be fired if he posted any more “offensive” content on social media.
