Trump Considers Pardon for Men Caught in FBI-Backed Governor Kidnapping Scheme

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he is considering pardoning the men who were caught up in an FBI-backed plot to kidnap Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Fourteen men were originally charged over the plot to kidnap Whitmer from her Antrim County vacation home in 2020. Most were acquitted in the trial while two were convicted. The FBI was heavily criticized over its role in the plot and several defendants argued that FBI agents actively encouraged alleged participants to engage in illegal activity.

Two men were acquitted by a jury after they were alleged to have been involved in the plot after the defense argued that the FBI’s encouragement of the plan constituted entrapment.

“I will take a look at it. It’s been brought to my attention,” Trump said in the Oval Office after Jeanine Pirro was sworn in as U.S. Attorney in D.C.

“I did watch the trial. It looked to me like somewhat of a railroad job, I’ll be honest with you. It looked to me like some people said some stupid things,” he added. (Read more from “Trump Considers Pardon for Men Caught in FBI-Backed Governor Kidnapping Scheme” HERE)

‘You’ll Bleep My F Words’: Gretchen Whitmer, Kamala Harris Go To A Bar For Post-Rally Beer

Vice President Kamala Harris and Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan went to a bar Saturday after a campaign event and appeared to begin talking about the presidential race when the pair realized press microphones could pick up their conversation.

Whitmer and Harris greeted locals at the bar before they sat to drink a beer and talk while patrons began watching and filming them on smartphones. The video, captured by C-SPAN, shows Whitmer offering to buy the vice president a beer, and Harris telling the bartender she’d have what Whitmer was having, after which the two began cackling.

“Oh, we have microphones in here just listening to everything, I didn’t realize that,” Harris told Whitmer.

“You’ll bleep my F words, I hope,” Whitmer told the reporters. (Read more from “‘You’ll Bleep My F Words’: Gretchen Whitmer, Kamala Harris Go To A Bar For Post-Rally Beer” HERE)

Governor Poised to Sign Bill Taking Money Away From Family Caretakers To Pay off Union Bosses

Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is poised to sign a bill that will allow union bosses in her state to take a cut of family caretakers’ pay.

Michigan’s Home Help program reimburses the in-home caretakers of some seniors and disabled people using Medicaid dollars — with many of these caretakers being family members or close friends. A bill recently passed by Michigan’s Democratic-led Legislature, which Whitmer has stated she will sign, would reclassify these caretakers as public employees and push them to join the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

“What this bill is going to end up doing is taking money away from hard-working, caring, loving family members who, out of the goodness of their own hearts, are making sure that their loved ones are receiving the at-home treatment that they need in a bid to build more revenue for union bosses,” Republican Michigan state Rep. Bill Schuette told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It was rushed through in a single session day.”

The legislation would require that all personal caretakers attend an orientation program and mandate that a union representative be allowed to speak at that orientation. If passed, the law would require that union reps be allowed to distribute and collect materials and grant them the right to give a 30-minute-long presentation on unionization to the caretakers. Judge Wants to Know Why Men Tied to Gov. Whitmer Kidnap Plot Were Moved to Federal Prisons

A judge wants to know why two men convicted of secondary roles in a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have been transferred to federal prisons out of state.

Paul Bellar and Joe Morrison are entitled to appeal their convictions following a trial on state charges in Jackson County in 2022. But their lawyers said it’s extremely hard to work with them hundreds of miles away. . .

The transfer is “mind-boggling” and “appalling,” said Michael Faraone, who represents Morrison.

“Whatever we may say about this case, however we may feel about it, I think we can agree we’re not dealing with al-Qaida,” Faraone told a judge Friday, referring to the Middle East terrorist group. Gov. Whitmer-Appointed Board Approves $715 Million Contract for CCP-Affiliated Company

The Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) board, appointed by Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, approved $715 million in grants and tax exemptions on Wednesday for a battery manufacturer with deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The SMF board, chaired by Quentin Messer and comprised of 11 members appointed by Whitmer, reportedly approved the Renaissance Zone tax exemption request and handed $175 million in state grants to a China-based company named Gotion Inc, and its billionaire chairman, who has deep ties to the CCP, in order to build a $2.4 billion electric vehicle battery parts facility in the outer part of Big Rapids.

In total, as the Detroit News reported, the $715 million in grants and tax exemptions include:

The property tax exemption granted by the board for the Michigan Economic Development Corp. will save the company $540 million over a 30-year period, according to estimates. The approval comes after three local government boards last week unanimously approved the Renaissance Zone request for the project that’s expected to create 2,350 jobs over the next decade [Emphasis added].

The $175 million in grant funding is made possible through new programs the state Legislature created at the end of 2021 to spur economic development in the state.

Judge Reduces Sentence of Man Involved in Whitmer Kidnapping Plot

A federal judge reduced the sentence of a man who pleaded guilty to participating in a foiled plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, after his testimony assisted in the conviction of the ringleaders last month.

Ty Garbin, 26, was resentenced Friday to 30 months in prison, down from the 75 months he received last year.

His testimony helped the U.S. government secure the convictions of two men who led the plot to abduct the governor from her vacation home in northern Michigan in 2020 in response to her COVID-19 restrictions.

U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker cut the sentence following the “substantial assistance” that Garbin gave federal attorneys, the judge’s written order said. (Read more from “Judge Reduces Sentence of Man Involved in Whitmer Kidnapping Plot” HERE)

Man Acquitted in Gretchen Whitmer Kidnapping Plot Speaks Out

A man acquitted in April regarding a plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) spoke out Friday after both sides rested their case in the retrial of two men charged in the conspiracy.

Brandon Caserta, a former member of the Wolverine Watchmen, said if it wasn’t for the fact that the government was involved in the alleged conspiracy, no one would be charged.

“People say things that are offensive and, you know, may sound violent but there’s a difference between actually physically doing violence or just being around a group of people and talking crap,” Caserta said, according to Local 4. “If the government wasn’t involved in this situation it would have never gotten to where it is now.”

Caserta, who has posted videos with anti-government rhetoric that he claims is “all talk,” invoked the Fifth Amendment in the retrial of Barry Croft Jr. and Adam Fox. A federal judge ordered a retrial for the men after a jury failed to reach a verdict during their first trial in April. Caserta and another member of the watchmen were found “not guilty” on all charges last spring. (Read more from “Man Acquitted in Gretchen Whitmer Kidnapping Plot Speaks Out” HERE)

FBI Informant in Gov Whitmer Kidnapping Case Drops Damning Accusation Against the Bureau

Just when you thought things could not look any worse for the FBI, an informant in the Whitmer kidnapping case dropped a bombshell claiming the agency asked the Michigan State Police to let protesters into the Capitol.

Pile that on top of Jan. 6 suspicions and the unprecedented raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and you get a stew of distrust that is beginning to boil over concerning the federal government. The DOJ is now flatly refusing to release the affidavit in the raid on Trump’s home which is ratcheting up tensions beyond tolerable levels.

Many have wondered about the sketchy plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Monday, a jury heard from an informant in the case. A retrial is taking place for two suspects who were accused of involvement in the plot after a previous jury was unable to reach a verdict. Two others were acquitted.

The FBI informant named Dan Chappel, 35, a former U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq, is testifying concerning his involvement with the Wolverine Watchmen, the group at the center of the case. He was at a protest at the Michigan Capitol on April 30, 2020, against the COVID lockdowns where he claims the FBI openly called for police to let protesters into the building, according to Red State. Bizarrely, the two defendants are not members of the Watchmen.

Chappel said he initially feared going undercover due to safety concerns for his young daughter but he did it because he feared for the lives of police officers, asserting the militia members were looking for the addresses of cops, according to the Associated Press. Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer Does Not Condemn Leftist Violence When Asked About Threats

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) did not condemn violence toward pro-life groups and individuals during an interview on Sunday when she was asked about “active threats” in her state.

Whitmer made the remarks during an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” with host Margaret Brennan as the topic of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade dominated the segment.

“I want to ask you about this homeland security warning that domestic violent extremists may intensify violence,” Brennan said. “In the bulletin that CBS obtained, it specifically mentioned an incident in Michigan, related to a pro-abortion rights group.”

One of the incidents mentioned in the memo “involved vandalism claimed by ‘Jane’s Revenge,’” a far-Left group, “on a building that houses a U.S. Representative’s campaign office and a pro-life advocacy group.”

“How concerned are you about violence?” Brennan asked. “What are you seeing on the ground?” (Read more from “Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer Does Not Condemn Leftist Violence When Asked About Threats” HERE)
