A group of 17 U.S. missionaries, including children, were kidnapped by a gang in Haiti on Saturday, according to a voice message sent to various religious missions by an organization with direct knowledge of the incident.
The missionaries were on their way home from building an orphanage, according to a message from Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries.

Another day, another lie from the Biden administration.
After promising large-scale repatriation of Haitian migrants who poured into the United States in Del Rio, Texas, over the last several weeks, President Joe Biden’s administration is actually releasing the migrants into the U.S. on a “very, very large scale.”
The Associated Press reported last week that Biden planned the “widescale expulsion” of the Haitian migrants encamped under the Del Rio International Bridge.
“Details are yet to be finalized but will likely involve five to eight flights a day, according to the official with direct knowledge of the plans who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. San Antonio, the nearest major city, may be among the departure cities,” the AP reported.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) pushed back against recent criticism of U.S. Border Patrol agents who rode up horseback to force Haitian asylum seekers out of Del Rio, Texas, after the small border town had become flooded with thousands of illegal aliens in recent days.
Cueller, appearing on CNN on Tuesday, disputed false narratives that emerged from an inaccurate news report claiming an agent swung a “whip” while charging his horse toward the illegal aliens. The misinformation was amplified by several of his fellow Democrats and possibly further exaggerated by CNN anchor Victor Blackwell, who said on-air that an agent “appears to use what looks like a rope or a lasso” while referencing a photograph taken during the encounter.
“Well, you know, certainly, we got to make sure we treat all the immigrants with respect and dignity,” Cuellar said. “But I will say this, Border Patrol has had those horse brigades for a while, they’ve had them for a while, number one. Number two, they don’t carry whips. And they do not carry lassos. I think the picture you’re talking about, at least the one I’ve seen is the rein, the rein of the horses.”

Pressed on whether border patrol agents should be fired or allowed to do it again, she said: “Of course they should never be able to do it again,” Psaki said, adding that it was “obviously horrific” footage. By Business Insider. A US Border Patrol agent on horseback yelled “this is why your country’s s**t” at Haitian migrants attempting to get back to a migrant camp in Texas, according to a video reported by Al Jazeera on Monday.
In the video, a group of Haitian migrants — identified by reporter John Holman as a family — huddles together as the unidentified Border Patrol agent points back across the Rio Grande river.
The agent then points at a man carrying bags in the back of the group standing behind a woman and shouts “Hey, you use your women? This is why your country’s shit. Because you use your women for this.”
A different Border Patrol agent on horseback agent swings the horse’s reins at another migrant as the man in the group is forced away into the river.

The Haitian government declared a state of emergency after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck the country Saturday, leaving at least 1,297 people dead and more than 5,700 injured, according to the country’s civil protection agency.
Of the 1,297 fatalities, 1,054 are in the South administrative region, 119 are in Grand’Anse, 122 are in Nippes and two are in the Northwest region, the civil protection service reported on Sunday.
The quake destroyed 13,694 homes and damaged another 13,785, officials from the agency said. The destruction has also pushed hospitals to the brink and blocked roads that would carry vital supplies.
“When it comes to medical needs, this is our biggest urgency. In a stunning development, one American arrested in connection with the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse has been identified as a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency asset who handed authorities the warlord who carried out the last coup in the troubled Caribbean country, reports said Monday.
What’s more, DEA officials have come out and said that while one of their agents was linked to the murder of Moïse, the agency itself was not involved in the plot. In addition, DEA officials claim that the agent called in after the assassination and that he was advised to turn himself in to authorities, the Miami Herald reported.

A prominent Haitian doctor with long-standing ties to South Florida has been implicated in last week’s brazen assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.
Christian Emmanuel Sanon, who has lived in the Sunshine state on and off for more than 20 years, is suspected of being one of the ring leaders of the hit squad that killed Moise, the Miami Herald said.
Sanon is the third person of Haitian descent tied to Florida to be seized, the Herald said.
Two of them — James Solages, 35, and Joseph Vincent, 55 — told authorities during questioning that the assassination was part of a plot to install Sanon as president of the Caribbean nation, sources told the outlet.

Haiti’s police seized on Thursday at least two more suspected members of the gang of assassins that killed President Jovenel Moise, following a fierce battle that left bullets strewn in the streets of the capital.
Hundreds of residents clamored outside the police station where suspects were being held in Port-au-Prince, shouting “burn them” and setting fire to a vehicle they presumed was that of the assassins, according to footage streamed by Haitian media outlets.
Moise, 53, was shot dead early on Wednesday at his home by what officials said was a commando of trained killers, pitching the poorest country in the Americas deeper into chaos amidst political divisions, hunger and widespread gang violence.

The Trump administration is taking the unusual step of hunting for evidence of crimes committed by Haitian immigrants as it decides whether to allow them to continue participating in a humanitarian program that has shielded tens of thousands from deportation since an earthquake destroyed much of their country.
The inquiries into the community’s criminal history were made in internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services emails obtained by The Associated Press. They show the agency’s newly appointed policy chief also wanted to know how many of the roughly 50,000 Haitians enrolled in the Temporary Protected Status program were taking advantage of public benefits, which they are not eligible to receive.
The emails don’t make clear if Haitian misdeeds will be used to determine whether they can remain in the United States. The program is intended to help people from places beset by war or disasters and, normally, the decision to extend it depends on whether conditions in the immigrants’ home country have improved enough for them to return.
