Christian Vet Who Beheaded Satanic Statue at Iowa Capital Charged With Hate Crime

Michael Cassidy has been charged with a hate crime for beheading a statue of Satan at the Iowa Capitol. Cassidy drove up to Iowa after the Satanic display was erected in the state capitol and took it down. He will be arraigned on February 15.

Polk County prosecutors charged Cassidy with felony third-degree criminal mischief, saying that he acted “in violation of individual rights” under Iowa’s hate crime statue, the Des Moines Register reports.

Cassidy had been charged with a misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief the day after the beheading but had been informed that he may be liable for further charges.

Spokesman for the Polk County Attorney’s Office Lynn Hicks said that “Evidence shows the defendant made statements to law enforcement and the public indicating he destroyed the property because of the victim’s religion.” This is what resulted in the hate crimes charge. State Launches New Snitch Hotline to Report ‘Hate Acts’ and ‘Hate Incidents’ — Including ‘Name Calling’

. . .Last Thursday, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and the California Civil Rights Department announced the launch of CA vs Hate. Through the hotline, Californians will be able to snitch on their neighbors for committing “hate acts,” which the service explicitly states do not always include violence.

“A hate incident is a hostile expression or action that may be motivated by bias against another person’s actual or perceived identity,” the website states. “Perpetrators may be motivated by different discriminatory biases, including, but not limited to; bias based on race, color, disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender, including gender identity.”

Some examples of “hate incidents,” according to the website, are “refusing service,” “derogatory name calling,” and bullying.

The new hotline, Newsom explained, is “an unequivocal message that hate will not be tolerated” in California.

Senator Calls for Federal Hate Crime Investigation Into Shooting at Nashville Christian School

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) called on FBI Director Christopher Wray and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to open a federal hate crime investigation into the Monday shooting at a Christian elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee.

Police say a 28-year-old woman who identified as a transgender man killed three 9-year-old children and three adults at The Covenant School, which is associated with the conservative evangelical Covenant Presbyterian Church. Authorities revealed that the shooter, whom The Daily Wire will not name in accordance with company policy, executed a “targeted attack” and left behind a “manifesto.”

Hawley contended that the nature of the fatal shooting might indicate a specific desire to harm Christians. “Yesterday the nation witnessed the vicious murder of small schoolchildren in Nashville, Tennessee,” he wrote in a letter to the senior Biden administration officials. “It is commonplace to call such horrors ‘senseless violence.’ But properly speaking, that is false. Police report that the attack here was ‘targeted’ — targeted, that is, against Christians.”

The Republican lawmaker added that federal law criminalizes acts of violence based on their actual or perceived “religion.” Police detectives believe the shooter had “some resentment” for having to attend that school.

“I urge you to immediately open an investigation into this shooting as a federal hate crime,” Hawley continued. “The full resources of the federal government must be brought to bear to determine how this crime occurred, and who may have influenced the deranged shooter to carry out these horrific crimes. Hate that leads to violence must be condemned. Hate Crime Hoax: Actor Gets 150 Days in Jail, 30 Months Probation

Hate crime hoaxer and disgraced actor Jussie Smollett has been sentenced on Thursday to 150 days in Cook County jail, 30 months of probation, pay a restitution of $120,106, and a fine of $25,000.

The actor repeatedly shouted, “I am innocent, and I am not suicidal,” as he was hauled off to jail.

Jussie Smollett Indicted on New Charges

Actor Jussie Smollett has been indicted on six new charges of disorderly conduct, accusing him of filing false police reports claiming he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack last year.

A special Cook County grand jury handed down the new indictment on Tuesday, following a six-month investigation by special prosecutor Dan Webb.

In a statement, Webb’s office said Smollett filed four separate false police reports claiming he was the victim of a hate crime.

“The grand jury’s investigation revealed that Jussie Smollett planned and participated in a staged hate crime attack, and thereafter made numerous false statements to Chicago Police Department officers on multiple occasions, reporting a heinous hate crime that he, in fact, knew had not occurred,” Webb said in a statement. . .

Last August, Cook County Judge Michael Toomin appointed Webb, a former federal prosecutor, as a special prosecutor in the Smollett case; tasking him to not only investigate Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s handling of the case, but to decide if Smollett should be further prosecuted for allegedly staging a fake hate crime against himself. Psychotherapist: Using ‘Slurs’ like ‘Nerd,’ ‘Geek,’ ‘Egghead’ — and Even ‘Smarty-Pants’ — Against High-IQ People Should Be Hate Crimes

A United Kingdom psychology lecturer and psychotherapist said using “slurs” against those with high IQs — such as “nerd” or “geek” or “egghead” — should be called hate crimes, the Telegraph reported.

Sonja Falck has studied the impact of bullying on high-IQ children and the “divisive and humiliating” anti-IQ terms should be categorized the same as homophobic, racial, and religious slurs in the U.K. — and are hate crime’s “last taboo,” the outlet added.

. . .Her recent research on the subject can be found in her new book, “Extreme Intelligence” — and at the book’s launch Falck said the next government must take legislative action to force societal change, the outlet said.

“The N-word was common parlance in the U.K. until at least the 1960s. Other insulting slurs about age, disability, religion, and gender identity remained in widespread use until relatively recently. Society at the time turned a blind eye to their impact by passing them off as harmless banter. It is only with the benefit of hindsight and academic research that we realize how wrong we were. Oh, so Is This What Sparked Jussie Smollett to Allegedly Orchestrate His Own Hate Crime?

You’ve got to be kidding me? This is why actor Jussie Smollett reportedly staged his own hate crime. Apparently, Smollett was the recipient of a racist letter containing a white powder, later determined to be aspirin, on January 22 that didn’t get enough attention. So, he reportedly orchestrated his own assault in sub-zero temperatures that was executed on January 29. He allegedly hired two Nigerian brothers to do it. They bought the rope that was tied around his neck (allegedly). They even held rehearsals…allegedly. But seriously, this reportedly was over a letter?

Empire” actor Jussie Smollett reportedly staged an attack against himself in late January after a “racist” letter sent to the TV show’s studio, which contained a white powder, did not get a “bigger reaction,” according to a local Chicago news station.

A source told CBS Chicago the actor allegedly “concocted” the “staged” Jan. 29 attack and paid his “acquaintances”—brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo—over $3,000 to carry it out.

Smollett reportedly opened the letter on Jan. 22 at Chicago’s Cinespace Studios, and the white powder prompted a HAZMAT team to respond. Chicago Police Department told the news station that the substance turned out to be asprin. Cinespace Studios would not comment to The Daily Beast about the incident. Fox, “Empire’s” network, also declined to provide comment or confirmation.

Boy, 9, in Hasidic Jewish Clothing Beaten by Strangers

A 9-year-old boy dressed in Hasidic Jewish clothing was beaten in an apparently unprovoked attack in Brooklyn on Sunday night, and police are now investigating the assault as a hate crime.

NYPD said the boy was walking home in Williamsburg when a man – described as a black teenager – approached him and repeatedly punched him in the face. . .

The suspect was described as a male, between the ages of 14 to 18. He was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with a black patch on the sleeve. . .

In October, a teenager was arrested for viciously attacking a Jewish man in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights less than an hour after he was released from police custody for an unrelated shoplifting incident.

Days earlier, a New York City cab driver was caught on video beating a Jewish man in the middle of an intersection. The victim, Lipa Schwartz, reportedly told local officials the alleged attacker yelled the words “Allah” and “Israel” while pummeling him. On Wednesday, a British court found vlogger Mark Meechan (AKA Count Dankula) guilty of a hate crime for posting a video of a “grossly offensive” prank on YouTube. He’s now facing jail time for the joke.

The 30-year-old, a self-described “s***poster” and free speech advocate, trained his girlfriend’s pug dog to raise his paw, mimicking a Nazi salute. Meechan filmed the trick and posted the footage to YouTube, where it has racked up over three million views. Meechan was reported to authorities, and in April of 2016, was arrested for his alleged hate crime . . .

Meechan hopes something good can come from his sentencing: U.K. residents will wake up to the tyranny of their own hate crime laws.

Even if it takes me going to jail for a year for me to show everyone how ridiculous and overreaching hate speech laws are, where a YouTube comedian — a s***poster like myself — can go to prison for an entire year for everyone in the country to realize, “holy s***, these laws need to be changed, they’re overreaching, they’re authoritative, they’re clearly being used to control public discourse, people are seeing things that we don’t like them seeing and that’s what these laws are being used for.” If it takes me going to prison for a year to actually get people to see that and campaign for these laws to be changed, I’m happy to do that.

According to a post from Meechan, the court ordered that he “meet with a court social worker for an assessment as to whether or not a Restriction Of Liberty Order will be placed” on him. “This would involve a GPS tracking device being attached to me and me being placed under house arrest,” he added.
