Newly Released Clinton Email Reveals Top Aide Huma Abedin Warning That Hillary Is “Often Confused”

Judicial Watch today released more than 35 pages of emails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin revealing that Abedin advised Clinton aide and frequent companion Monica Hanley that it was “very important” to go over phone calls with Clinton because the former Secretary of State was “often confused.” The emails, from Abedin’s “[email protected]” address, also reveal repeated security breaches, with the Secretary’s schedule and movements being sent and received through Abedin’s non-governmental and unsecured Clinton server account. The emails document requests for special State Department treatment for a Clinton Foundation associate and Abedin’s mother, a controversial Islamist leader.

The Abedin email material contains a January 26, 2013, email exchange with Clinton aide Monica Hanley regarding Clinton’s schedule in which Abedin says Clinton is “often confused:”

Abedin: Have you been going over her calls with her? So she knows singh is at 8? [India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh]

Hanley: She was in bed for a nap by the time I heard that she had an 8am call. Will go over with her

Abedin: Very imp to do that. She’s often confused.

The newly released Abedin emails included a lengthy exchange giving precise details of the Clinton schedule on the Secretary’s final full day in office, Wednesday, January 31, 2013. The email from Lona J. Valmoro, former Special Assistant to Secretary of State Clinton, to Abedin, other top State Department staff, and Clinton associates, reveals exact times (including driving times) and locations of all appointments throughout the day:

8:25 am DEPART Private Residence

En route to State Department

[drive time: 10 minutes]

***

1:40 pm DEPART State Department

En route to Council on Foreign Relations

[drive time: 15 minutes]

***

3:05 pm DEPART Council on Foreign Relations

En route to State Department

[drive time: 15 minutes]

***

6:00 pm DEPART State Department

En route to Private Residence

[drive time: 5 minutes]

The detailed schedule provided in the Abedin email contains an annotation reading: “The information contained in this email is not to be shared, forwarded or duplicated.”

Another Abedin email provides details about a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s leadership.

The Abedin correspondence includes several instances in which the Clinton top aide attempted to obtain special treatment from the State Department for business associates and relatives. In the first instance, Abedin apparently worked with Teneo co-founder and Clinton Global Initiative official Doug Band to intercede on behalf of an individual seeking a visa. In the second instance, Huma Abedin received an email from her mother, Saleha Abedin (a controversial Islamist activist) who founded and serves as dean at Dar al-Hekma University in Saudi Arabia. In the December 11, 2011, email, Saleha Abedin seeks the assistance of her daughter to help the president of her college, Dr. Suhair al Qurashi, attend a State Department “Women in Public Service” ceremony, which included remarks by Hillary Clinton. (Mrs. Clinton spoke at Dar al-Hekma University in 2010. Dr. Qurashi and Saleha Abedin introduced Mrs. Clinton’s speech and moderated the subsequent discussion.)

“Huma Abedin’s description of Hillary Clinton as ‘easily confused’ tells you all you need to know why it took a federal lawsuit to get these government emails from Clinton’s illegal email server ,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These emails also show that Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s decision to use the Clinton email server to conduct government business was dangerous and risky.”

The documents were obtained by Judicial Watch on October 30, 2015, in response to a June 5 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department, after it failed to respond to a March 18 FOIA request seeking:

Emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-“state.gov” email address.

Watch: DNC Chairwoman Avoids Confirming This Ridiculous Clinton Story

DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz would not confirm Hillary Clinton’s claim that she tried to join the Marines, dodging host Andrea Mitchell’s questions and attacking her for asking about the story.

Mitchell asked Schultz “why on earth” Hillary Clinton would “go to a Marine recruiter” even though she was “actively against the war in Vietnam,” and settled down in Arkansas with Bill Clinton at the time.

“With all due respect, Andrea, why on earth are we talking about this?” Schultz asked.

“Well, because she brought it up in New Hampshire the other day,” Mitchell said. “If she hadn’t brought it up, it would not be an issue in this campaign.”

Schultz went on to extoll the significance of the story, which “illustrated […] that we have made a lot of progress in America.” She said that the story is “an important way” to spark a conservation about making “progress for women in this country.” (Read more from “DNC Chairwoman Avoids Confirming This Ridiculous Clinton Story” HERE)

Watch: Clinton’s Reaction to Audience Member Suggesting He’d Like to Strangle Carly Fiorina Is Frightening

Hillary Clinton failed to admonish an audience member on Tuesday who said he wanted to “strangle” Republican primary candidate Carly Fiorina.

The audience member said he was a systems engineer who was laid off from Hewlett-Packard while Fiorina was CEO of the company.

He critiqued decisions made by Fiorina to fire workers and said he becomes infuriated whenever he sees her trumpeting her business record on television.

“And to see this woman say she grew the company three times — she merged the company with Digital Equipment and Compaq Computing. That’s not growing a company when you absorb two other companies,” he said.

“And then she laid off over 40,000 people, and she says she’s a great CEO. Every time I see her on TV, I want to reach through and strangle her,” he said, drawing laughs from the audience. “I know that doesn’t sound very nice.” (Read more from “Clinton’s Reaction to Audience Member Suggesting He’d Like to Strangle Carly Fiorina Is Frightening” HERE)

Is the FBI Closing in on Hillary? If so, Will There Be Jail Time?

In an administration known for its disdain for accountability and appalling disregard for justice, FBI Director James Comey sets himself apart as a straight shooter and strong adherent of the equal application of the law. To those who know and/or have worked with him, Comey’s character is unimpeachable, his integrity unique, and his pursuit of justice determined, focused, and incorruptible in a capital where such traits are routinely eschewed.

According to Dr. Monica Crowley, quoted below, Comey is closely overseeing his crack cyber-forensic team, which has masterfully managed to do what many claimed couldn’t be done: they accessed the files on Hillary Clinton’s “wiped” email server. If they find ample evidence to indict her, as Crowley intimates below, and the Justice Department decides not to pursue charges, many political pundits foresee Comey resigning, or looking the other way when whatever illegal activity they found starts to leak.

Most observers agree that going after General David Petraeus, a true national treasure, for having some “Confidential” — not “Top Secret” — documents stored in a desk drawer, but not pressing charges on Clinton if she sent and received “Top Secret” documents would be seen as, at best, a blatant double standard, and at worst the same kind of collusive corruption we’ve seen for far too long in Washington.

But has the FBI found criminal offenses in their quest for justice? Apparently so. During an appearance on the “O’Reilly Factor”, Dr. Monica Crowley was granted an extremely rare waiver: she was allowed to cite “anonymous sources” on the progress of the investigation. She had managed to find two unnamed investigation insiders, who gave her solid information that should result in an indictment of Mrs. Clinton for violations stemming from the use of her private email server . . .

It should be remembered that on March 10, 2015, when Hillary Clinton gave her first explanation about her server during a presser at the U.N., she clearly stated, “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material, so, I am certainly well aware of the classification requirements and did not send any classified material.” (Read more from “Is the FBI Closing in on Hillary? Paul: Rubio and Hillary ‘the Same Person’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says that when it comes to foreign policy, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a fellow GOP presidential candidate, and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton are “the same person.”

“I see her and Rubio as being the same person,” Paul said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “They both want a no-fly zone. They both have supported activity in Libya, the war in Libya that toppled [Libyan prime minister] Gaddafi, an intervention that made us less safe.”

“They both have supported the Iraq War, so, I mean, what’s the difference?” he asked . . .

The Kentucky senator also took a shot at former vice president Dick Cheney, who has been critical of Paul’s foreign policy.

“Yeah, well you know, Dick Cheney has been wrong about most of the foreign policy over the last several decades,” Paul said. “The last time he was right was when he warned the first George Bush that it would be a mistake to topple Hussein because you’d have chaos and instability and you’d destabilize the region, which is exactly what happened after the Iraq War.” (Read more from “Paul: Rubio and Hillary ‘the Same Person'” HERE)

GOP Reportedly Asks IRS to Audit Clinton Charity’s Finances

The Republican National Committee reportedly has asked the IRS to audit the finances of one of the Clinton family’s charities following its refusal to re-file tax forms even after acknowledging errors in reporting donations from foreign governments.

Reuters reported the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) said this week that it had decided against re-filing so-called Form 990s because the errors “had no impact” on the total amount of income it reported to the IRS. The charity claimed that the total amount of income was correct, but the breakdown of government and private funding was not. As a result, CHAI spokeswoman Maura Daley said the organization “does not believe a re-filing is necessary.”

In April, Reuters reported that the CHAI had failed to note grants from foreign governments separately from total revenue on its Form 990s in 2012 and 2013. At the time, the organization said it would re-file the documents for both years. It had previously re-filed returns from 2010 and 2011 for over-reporting the amount received in government grants by over $100 million.

The Clinton Foundation also said it would re-file its Form 990s after wrongly reporting that it had received no money from foreign governments on its tax returns for 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Reuters reported, citing tax experts, that it was unusual for a charity to make such large mistakes several years in a row. An IRS spokesman told the news agency that charities should re-file a Form 990 if it becomes aware of an error. (Read more from “GOP Reportedly Asks IRS to Audit Clinton Charity’s Finances” HERE)

According to Email, Hillary Was Warned About Blaming Benghazi Attack on Video

Hillary Clinton and other State Department officials were apparently warned by overseas U.S. diplomats about blaming the 2012 Benghazi terror strikes on an “inflammatory” Internet video, according to an email released Saturday by House Republicans probing the fatal attacks.

The email was sent three days after the fatal Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, and two days before then-National Security Adviser Susan Rice went on TV to say the attacks were inspired by the anti-Islamic video.

The email — released by the GOP-led House Select Committee on Benghazi — was sent from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, Libya, to the State Department, which Clinton led from 2009 to 2013. But the names of the exact sender and receiver have been redacted.

“The film’s not as explosive of an issue here as it appears to be in other countries in the region,” the unknown sender wrote. “And it is becoming increasingly clear that the series of events in Benghazi was much more terrorist attack than a protest, which escalated into violence.

“It is our opinion that in our messaging, we want to distinguish, not conflate, the events in other countries with this well planned attack by militant extremists.” (Read more from “According to Email, Hillary Was Warned About Blaming Benghazi Attack on Video” HERE)

Poll: Clinton Hits 50 Percent Support

Hillary Clinton has hit 50 percent support for the Democratic presidential nomination for the first time since April, around the time she launched her campaign, according to a new national poll.

Clinton’s support among Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters has ticked up 9 points since mid-September, based on the latest NBC News/Survey Monkey online poll.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Clinton’s primary rival in the Democratic race, now stands at 30 percent support in the poll, relatively unchanged over the past six weeks.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and Harvard Professor Lawrence Lessig took 1 percent apiece in the online poll released Friday.

The survey, conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, comes on the heels of Vice President Biden’s decision last week to not run for the White House in 2016. (Read more from “Poll: Clinton Hits 50 Percent Support” HERE)

White House Aims to Stop Release of Obama-Clinton Emails

The White House will try to block the release of a handful of emails between President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, citing longstanding precedent invoked by presidents of both parties to keep presidential communications confidential, officials said Friday.

The State Department discovered the emails between Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton as part of its effort to release the former secretary’s emails, several thousand more of which were made public on Friday. A review of those emails showed Mrs. Clinton engaged in conversations with various aides about security in Libya, discussing talking points after the 2012 attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya, and — on a lighter note — complaining about the lack of emoticons on her phone.

Mr. Obama’s direct correspondence with Mrs. Clinton was forwarded by the State Department to the White House, which has decided against release, a move likely to intensify the struggle between Mrs. Clinton and congressional Republicans, who have pressed for disclosure of her emails as part of an investigation into the administration’s handling of the Benghazi events.

The contents of the emails between Mrs. Clinton, who is running for president, and Mr. Obama have not been disclosed, but their presumed existence has not been a secret. The White House press secretary, Josh Earnest, acknowledged in March that the two “did have the occasion to email one another” when Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state.

Mr. Obama told CBS News in March that he learned about Mrs. Clinton’s use of a private email server “the same time everybody else learned it — through news reports.” Mr. Earnest later clarified that the president was aware that she sometimes used a private email address but did not know the details about how the server was set up. Hillary: I’ll Go Further Than Obama in Granting Amnesty to Illegals [+video]

This isn’t the first time she’s said this. Back in May, in fact, she specified how much further than O she’d go. His mega-amnesty last year would legalize parents of children who are U.S. citizens; Hillary’s proposing to extend that to parents of children who are DREAMers, who are illegals themselves but were brought here as young children and spent most of their childhoods growing up in the United States. Obama’s amnesty, as bad as it is, requires some sort of anchor of American citizenship to trigger special status for mom and dad. Hillary, desperate to maximize turnout among Latino voters, will attempt to lower the bar further. And I do mean “attempt”: The reason Obama didn’t extend his own policy to DREAMers is because his lawyers told him his legal authority was too shaky. Then again, he’s been known to warm to legally dubious policies after the Clintons pronounce them a good idea so maybe he’ll reconsider. And if he does, Hillary will promise to go a step further than that, all in the name of countering high white turnout for Republicans with high Obama-esque turnout by minorities.
