Alec Baldwin Makes Bombshell Claim as Probe Into Deadly Set Shooting Heats Up

Alec Baldwin alleged that he did not pull the trigger on the gun that fired resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in a preview for his upcoming televised interview on Thursday night.

It was announced on Wednesday that Baldwin will sit down for his first formal interview about the fatal shooting that took place on the set of the indie-western film “Rust.” In a preview for the tell-all, Baldwin addresses the fact that he was holding a gun that was somehow loaded with a live bullet that should not have been on the set at all, let alone in an actor’s hand.

During the preview, which is heavily edited for the purpose of teasing the larger interview that’s set to air Thursday evening, an emotional Baldwin states unequivocally that he did not pull the trigger.

“The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin with George Stephanopoulos. (Read more from “Alec Baldwin Makes Bombshell Claim as Probe Into Deadly Set Shooting Heats Up” HERE)

‘Rust’ Armorer’s Attorney Suggests Sabotage May Have Led to Fatal On-Set Shooting

An attorney for the armorer on the movie set where actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer said Wednesday that he believes someone might have been trying to sabotage the set by putting a live round in a box of dummy ammunition.

“How did a live round get on set, and who put that live round on the set?” Jason Bowles, an attorney for “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, asked on NBC’s “TODAY” show.

Robert Gorence, Gutierrez-Reed’s other attorney, also joined the interview.

“There was a box of dummy rounds labeled ‘dummy,'” Bowles said. “We don’t know whether the live round came from that box. We’re assuming somebody put the live round in that box.” (Read more from “‘Rust’ Armorer’s Attorney Suggests Sabotage May Have Led to Fatal On-Set Shooting” HERE)

Report: ‘Rust’ Producers Were Warned That Assistant Director Would ‘Kill Someone Someday’

According to a new report in Hollywood trade publication, Variety, producers on the set of “Rust” were warned that assistant director Dave Halls didn’t take safety protocols seriously while working on a previous movie.

Variety spoke to five different crew members who worked on the set of “One Way,” another production Halls worked on in February prior to “Rust.” Both films shared the same production companies — Thomasville Pictures, and Short Porch Pictures. All told the outlet that Halls had created an unsafe working environment on the set.

“That man is a liability,” one crew member on that film told Variety. “He’s going to f***ing kill someone someday, and you’re going to be responsible.”

Another anonymous source said Halls allowed people who were not professional stunt drivers to drive cars in an “open field.” The crew member told Variety that he explicitly warned producers that Halls was putting the safety of the crew “in jeopardy.” (Read more from “Report: ‘Rust’ Producers Were Warned That Assistant Director Would ‘Kill Someone Someday’” HERE)

Cops Won’t Rule Out Criminal Charges Against Alec Baldwin; Rookie ‘Rust’ Armorer Once Made Nicolas Cage Storm off Film Set After Firing Gun

By New York Post. Authorities on Wednesday refused to rule whether Alec Baldwin could face criminal charges after he accidentally shot dead his cinematographer on the New Mexico set of his “Rust” film last week.

The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office also revealed at a press conference they suspect there were other live rounds found on the set as they continue to investigate the deadly shooting. . .

Sheriff Adan Mendoza said it was too early in the investigation to comment on charges, but the three people who handled the gun – including Baldwin, armorer Hannah Reed-Gutierrez and assistant director David Halls – were cooperating.

When pressed on whether Baldwin could potentially face charges, District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said “no one has been ruled out at this point.” (Read more from “Cops Won’t Rule Out Criminal Charges Against Alec Baldwin” HERE)

Rookie ‘Rust’ Armorer Once Made Nicolas Cage Storm off Film Set After Firing Gun

By New York Post. A furious Nicolas Cage stormed off the set of a film where Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was in charge of weapons — and ripped the rookie armorer for firing a gun without warning, crew members said in a new report.

The 24-year-old “Rust” armorer — in charge of guns when Alec Baldwin shot dead cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last Thursday — was repeatedly accused by crew members of breaking basic safety protocols on the Montana set of Cage’s “The Old Way” in August, they told the Wrap.

Cage even walked off set screaming at Gutierrez-Reed after she fired a gun without warning for the second time in three days, the movie’s key grip, Stu Brumbaugh, told the outlet.

“Make an announcement, you just blew my f—ing eardrums out!” Cage yelled before walking off in a rage, Brumbaugh recalled. (Read more from “Rookie ‘Rust’ Armorer Once Made Nicolas Cage Storm off Film Set After Firing Gun” HERE)

Alec Baldwin Was Practicing Pointing Revolver at Camera During Fatal Prop Gun Mishap

Alec Baldwin was practicing a “cross draw” in a church pew that required pointing his weapon at the camera during the prop gun mishap that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead, newly released documents reveal.

Two new witness accounts made public by the Sante Fe Sheriff’s Office on Sunday night describe the harrowing moment the 42-year-old director of photography was shot inside the church building on the New Mexico set of the film “Rust.”

Baldwin was rehearsing the gun retrieval method from a pew of the mock church at Bonanza Creek Ranch when he aimed at the camera, while both Hutchins and 48-year-old director Joel Souza stood behind it.

Souza then says he heard a “loud pop” and realized both he and Hutchins were bleeding, according to a police interview.

The director told investigators that he remembered hearing the phrase “cold gun” while preparing for the scene, indicating the firearm wasn’t loaded and was safe for use, but he couldn’t remember if the gun, described as a “revolver” in the records, had been checked after the crew returned from a lunch break before the incident happened. Alec Baldwin Ignored the No. 1 Rule of Gun Safety: Hollywood Weapons Expert

Alec Baldwin, who accidentally killed his cinematographer on the set of his film “Rust,” should have never pointed a gun at another human, even if he believed it was safe, Hollywood safety experts told The Post.

And the actor is now likely to face a gantlet of legal challenges — including possible criminal charges — as both the man who pulled the trigger and as the executive producer responsible for set safety, legal experts said.

“Loaded or unloaded, a weapon never gets pointed at another human being,” Hollywood firearms consultant Bryan Carpenter of Dark Thirty Film Services told The Post. . .

For safety, all live firearms used in TV and film productions are typically aimed at a dummy point, not at equipment, cast or crew, Carpenter noted. Guns, he said, are never aimed at a person.

“You never let the muzzle of a weapon cover something you don’t intend to destroy,” said Carpenter, whose New Orleans-based firm has worked on the sets of scores of TV and film productions. “All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.” (Read more from “Alec Baldwin Ignored the No. 1 Rule of Gun Safety: Hollywood Weapons Expert” HERE)

Mega Actor Kills Woman With Prop Gun on Movie Set

Alec Baldwin reportedly discharged a prop gun at a movie set outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Thursday, killing a woman and injuring a man.

The incident resulted in the death of the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, 42, and an injury of director Joel Souza, 48, the sheriff’s office said in a statement released Thursday evening, NBC News reported.

“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of Rust involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” a spokesperson for Baldwin said in a statement, according to NBC News. “Production has been halted for the time being. The safety of our cast and crew remains our top priority.”

The sheriff’s office said that investigators were looking into “how and what type of projectile was discharged,” Variety reported.

Baldwin was reportedly questioned by the investigators Thursday evening and was seen and photographed in tears while in the parking lot outside the sheriff’s office, according to Santa Fe New Mexican. (Read more from “Mega Actor Kills Woman With Prop Gun on Movie Set” HERE)

‘Gender Is a Fact’: Liberals Are Not Going To Be Happy With Dave Chappelle’s Latest Bit on Trans Culture

[Warning: content contains explicit language.]

Comedian Dave Chappelle is pushing back against the left’s stance on gender, saying “gender is a fact” during his Netflix standup comedy special “The Closer” released early Tuesday, according to the Daily Beast.

Chappelle told the crowd he is “team TERF!” which stands for “trans-exclusionary radical feminist,” which are feminists who do not believe trans women are women, according to the report.

“Gender is a fact,” Chappelle said, according to the report. “Every human being in this room, every human being on earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on earth. That is a fact. Now, I am not saying that to say trans women aren’t women, I am just saying that those pussies that they got … you know what I mean? I’m not saying it’s not pussy, but it’s Beyond Pussy or Impossible Pussy.”

Chappelle said the transgender community “want me dead” for his jokes, according to the Daily Beast. (Read more from “‘Gender Is a Fact’: Liberals Are Not Going To Be Happy With Dave Chappelle’s Latest Bit on Trans Culture” HERE)
