Former Star Alleges Disturbing Moments Behind Scenes of Popular Teen Sitcom

Jennette McCurdy is opening up about her childhood trauma.

McCurdy revealed she was “exploited” when she was a child actor on Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” and “Sam & Cat.”

She says her overbearing mother and the television industry were both to blame, as they “failed to protect her,” according to the New York Times.

“My whole childhood and adolescence were very exploited,” McCurdy said. “…There were cases where people had the best intentions and maybe didn’t know what they were doing. And also cases where they did — they knew exactly what they were doing.” . . .

California Governor Urges Hollywood Pals to Punish Conservative States

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Wednesday in an ad that Hollywood needs to “walk the walk” by pulling production out of Republican states.

Newsom released the ad Wednesday while also endorsing a proposal to provide $1.65 billion and a five-year extension of the state’s film and television production tax credit program, The New York Times reported.

“For 100 years, we’ve been the home for storytelling and storytellers,” the ad reads. “Together, we built a creative community that includes unrivaled casts, crews, craftspeople, infrastructure and technology. Robust tax credits and other incentives. The best culture. Most importantly, we share your values. So now, it’s time to choose.”

The ad then attacks Republican-led states like Georgia and Oklahoma, which Newsom alleges have “waged a cruel assault on essential rights.” Newsom claims the states have attacked “reproductive freedom.”

“Today more than ever, you have a responsibility to take stock of your values – and those of your employees – when doing business in those states,” the ad continues. “California is a freedom state: Freedom to tell your stories. Freedom to access the health services you need, including abortion care. Freedom to love who you love and to ensure that your LGBTQ friends, family and colleagues can proudly be who they are. UPDATE: Gay Singer Could Face 50 Years in Prison for Incest

By Daily Caller. Ricky Martin’s 21-year-old nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, accused the singer of domestic violence and incest in Puerto Rico, who could face up to 50 years behind bars, TMZ reported Friday.

It was previously reported that an unidentified victim made domestic violence and sexual assault allegations against Martin in early July, and Friday’s publication of Spanish news website Marca identified the accuser as being Martin’s nephew, according to TMZ. Sanchez has already obtained a temporary restraining order against Martin, who faces harsher penalties if convicted of incest and sex crimes under Puerto Rican law, according to TMZ.

UPDATE on Gay Singer Ricky Martin’s Incest Case

“All I want is for you to forget all your issues tonight,” he [told concert-goers in Los Angeles]. “Just focus on love and light and let’s just have a good time.”

On Thursday, during a hearing in Puerto Rico, a judge ruled against extending a temporary order of protection against the singer after the case was withdrawn. Martin appeared remotely, as he resides in Los Angeles.

NBC News confirmed that the person who filed for the restraining order was the son of Martin’s half sister. The nephew also alleged that he and Martin had had a sexual and romantic relationship that lasted for seven months, according to a court document obtained by Telemundo and shared with NBC News. Predator R. Kelly Sentenced to 30 Years in Sex Trafficking Case

. . .R. Kelly, the Grammy-winning singer and pinnacle of ’90s pop stardom, was slapped with 30 years in prison Wednesday for sexually abusing women and underage girls and boys over the course of decades.

The fallen “I Believe I Can Fly” singer did not react as US District Judge Ann Donnelly issued the stiff sentence after listening to statements from seven victims during an hours-long hearing in Brooklyn federal court.

“With every addition of a new victim, you grew in wickedness,” said one woman, Angela. “You used your fame and power to groom and coach underage boys and girls for your own sexual gratification.”

Kelly, 55, whose full name is Robert Kelly, was convicted on nine charges, including racketeering and violating the Mann Act, which bars interstate transportation of women and girls for “immoral purposes.”

Oscar-Winning Hollywood Producer Accused of Raping Foreign Woman for Days, Flying, and Abandoning Her at a Small Airport

Police in the southern Italian city of Brindisi say the British woman who has accused Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis of brutal rape has injuries consistent with her allegations. “I was raped for days,” the woman told investigating prosecutor Antonio Negro, according to a summary of the arrest document relayed to The Daily Beast. “We were supposed to work together, but instead he raped me from Sunday evening to Wednesday.”

The woman, who Negro’s office says holds a British passport, was left last Wednesday before dawn by the director outside the Brindisi airport in the province of Puglia, which sits at the heel of Italy’s boot, according to her testimony to police. She says she did not have an airline ticket, but that he gave her money to buy one when the airport opened, according to the prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor’s office says the woman was discovered cowering in a corner of the small airport by a flight attendant who immediately alerted authorities. “She was destroyed,” the attendant told police, according to the initial investigative document. “She spoke with difficulty.”

After an initial medical examination at the airport health clinic, she was taken to the hospital for treatment in line with Italy’s “pink protocol” for rape victims, which includes psychological counseling. The prosecutor’s office says she “suffered repeated non-consenting sexual assaults” including one so violent she was “forced to seek medical attention.”

That horrific event is apparently what led to the end of her ordeal, when she says Haggis drove her to the airport in the early hours of Wednesday. The medical examiner’s report says that she was left incapable of having sex from the violence. Pixar’s New Buzz Lightyear Movie, Banned in 14 Countries, Features Lesbian Scene

The [movie’s lesbian] controversy stems from a character named Hawthorne (played by Uzo Aduba), who kisses her wife in a brief scene that depicts milestones in the character’s life. . .

“Lightyear” star Chris Evans has slammed critics of a same-sex kiss in his new movie, calling them “idiots” . . .

Pixar came under fire for removing the kiss after staff members sent an open letter stating that Disney has censored same-sex affection in the past and in reaction to Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

The studio later restored the kiss after pressure from its employees continued to mount.

Here’s the Fatal Flaw in Matthew McConaughey’s ‘Common Sense’ Gun Plan

Actor Matthew McConaughey visited Washington, D.C., this week to push for what he termed “reasonable, practical, tactical regulations” on gun rights, such as background checks, red-flag laws, and higher age limits.

“We’ve got a chance right now to reach for and to grasp a higher ground above our political affiliations,” he said, and “a chance to make a choice that does more than protect your party, a chance to make a choice that protects our country now and for the next generation.”

Corporate media and other activists praised his call for what they described as “common sense” restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. But even if people think the solution to the moral rot plaguing the country is to restrict gun rights, there is one very big reason why this plan is not “common sense” at all and why Republicans in Congress would not be able to support it.

Many Americans have a principled objection to restricting gun rights because they are the guard against tyranny that preserves American freedoms. But even for those who don’t hold principled objections to gun-right restrictions, to voluntarily hand over the right and the security it provides American families would require a profound trust in their government that has been obliterated in recent years through widespread corruption. WATCH: Actor Congratulates His Son and All the Young People Committing Their Lives to God

Academy Award-nominated actor and devout Catholic Mark Wahlberg recently took to social media to congratulate his son and all the young people who have committed their lives to God.

In a video post on Instagram, Wahlberg, who is currently in Europe filming the Netflix movie “Our Man From Jersey,” shared how proud he is of his son for making his Catholic confirmation.

“Just got down on my hands and knees to express my gratitude,” the actor said as he knelt by his bed.

“Congratulations to my son Michael on making his confirmation [and] all the young people out there who were confirmed and taking their relationship with the Lord into their adulthood, what a commitment you guys have made,” he continued.

Kevin Spacey Charged With Four Counts of Sexual Assault in UK

Kevin Spacey’s house of cards continues to fall apart.

The actor, 62, is being charged with four counts of sexual assault against three men after a review of evidence by the United Kingdom’s Metropolitan Police. In addition to the four counts, over actions that allegedly took place from 2005 to 2013, Spacey has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, the Crown Prosecution Service announced Thursday.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr Spacey are active and that he has the right to a fair trial,” said Rosemary Ainslie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division.

The first man, who is now in his 40s, claimed to have been assaulted by Spacey twice in March 2005, and incidents with the second and third men, both now in their 30s, allegedly occurred in August 2008 and April 2013. All four of the alleged incidents occurred while Spacey was serving as artistic director of the Old Vic Theatre, one of London’s most historic theaters, a position he held from 2004 to 2015, according to the Daily Mail. Comedian Under Fire for Anti-Tranny Jokes in His Brand New Netflix Special

Ricky Gervais is facing backlash for anti-trans jokes in his latest Netflix special, Supernature. Although the title just dropped on the streamer earlier today, it has already garnered widespread criticism from the LGBTQ community and allies, who have slammed Gervais’ material as insensitive and harmful, Variety reports.

The comedian’s latest Netflix title includes multiple jokes about trans people, specifically trans women. Gervais rails against cancel culture, pronouns and gender identity, making jokes about “old-fashioned women” and “new women.”

He begins one joke by saying, “Oh, women! Not all women, I mean the old-fashioned ones. The old-fashioned women, the ones with wombs. Those f***ing dinosaurs. I love the new women. They’re great, aren’t they?,” per Variety. “The new ones we’ve been seeing lately. The ones with beards and c***s. They’re as good as gold, I love them.”

Gervais continues, “And now the old-fashioned ones say, ‘Oh, they want to use our toilets.’ ‘Why shouldn’t they use your toilets?’ ‘For ladies!’ ‘They are ladies — look at their pronouns!
