House Democrats Kill Amendment That Would Have Protected Religious Americans From Persecution Under LGBT Bill

Democrats in the House of Representatives blocked an amendment that would have protected religious Americans from retaliation based on their opposition to same-sex marriage, in order to jam legislation furthering the LGBT lobby’s agenda through Congress’s lame-duck session.

House Rules Committee Chairman Rep. James McGovern shot down Republicans’ last chance of defending religious liberty in the ill-named Respect for Marriage Act on Monday when he refused to even let Rep. Chip Roy’s amendment solidifying First Amendment protections be brought to the House floor for a vote.

McGovern’s reasoning for bypassing procedural debate was rooted in the fact that Roy’s amendment would give the process of passing the RFMA a shelf life that could last well into the newly-elected Republican House.

Seeing as most of the Republicans in the current House oppose the RFMA on the grounds that it stomps on religious Americans’ right to act on their convictions about traditional marriage, McGovern and his Democrat allies weren’t keen on waiting around to see if the legislation would survive the new GOP-led House.

“If we were to amend this and it goes back to the Senate, for all intents and purposes, it’s dead for the year. And many of us believe that we have a court right now that is hell-bent on trying to reverse the rights for the LGBTQ community and we do not trust them to respect marriage equality in this country,” McGovern said to the rules committee on Monday. “When January comes along, the gentleman’s party will be in charge and you can bring one amendment after another to reverse the last 70 years of social progress, if the gentleman prefers. We will oppose you on that.”

Hillary Says People Should Be ‘Saying Gay All the Time’

Hillary Clinton, over the course of running for the office of president twice, and losing twice, has been an open advocate for homosexuality.

She’s called “gay rights” “human rights” and promoted gay marriage. She’s slammed others who disagree with her sexual lifestyle choice agenda. She’s made fun of those who disagree with her. . .

[On a recent podcast with comedian Kate McKinnon] a listener reportedly asked, “What are your thoughts on the state of attack we find on the LGBTQ+ community with Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill passing 22-to-17 and Texas anti-trans agenda.” . . .

Clinton said, “Oh my gosh, well, first off, it is profoundly outrageous and deeply sad that people in positions of power in our country who are more interested in undermining and opposing the rights of individuals than they are in bringing people together,” she said, “I think people have to stand up to it.

“The idea ‘don’t say gay,’ I think people should go around saying gay all the time.” (Read more from “Hillary Says People Should Be ‘Saying Gay All the Time’” HERE)

Irate Liberals Are Freaking Out Because Sam Elliott Doesn’t Like Their Gay Western

Superstar Western actor Sam Elliott went viral Wednesday as irate liberals lost their minds over his personal opinion of the multi-award-losing movie “The Power of The Dog.”

“Can someone explain to Sam Elliott what The Power of the Dog is about — and what movies are?” one journalist from The Guardian wrote in an op-ed, where the opening line describes how Elliott has more than 100 screen credits (so probably knows at least a little bit about films).

Shelby County Commissioner Tami Sawyer, who lives in the South, posted to her Twitter feed, “I mean most movies about the American West don’t know anything about the American West including the ones Sam Elliott has been a part of. They erase the presence of anyone who isn’t white or male when the west was mostly built by Indigenous, Black, Mexican & Chinese people.”

“They’re running around in chaps and no shirts. There’s all these allusions of homosexuality throughout the f**king movie,” Elliott continued.

[Warning: tweet contains explicit language.]

Marc Maron: Did you see Power of the Dog, did you see that movie?
Sam Elliott: Yeah do you wanna talk about that piece of shit?
Marc: [ohh noo] You didn’t like that one?
Sam: Fuck no. pic.twitter.com/BGdOd6scwe

DISGUSTING: Mom Reports School to Police for Promoting Gay Porn Book to Children

A concerned mom says she’s filed a police report against North Kingstown High School in North Kingstown, Rhode Island for promoting a book with gay pornography to minors in the school library.

The pornographic book was published by Lion Forge Comics and is titled “Gender Queer: A Memoir.” It was authored and illustrated by Maia Kobabe, who uses the made-up pronouns of e/em/eir and whose work focuses on “anti-fascism,” according to a description on Amazon.

Nicole Solas, a resident of South Kingstown and mom of a kindergartener, posted a picture of the book in a display case on Twitter and highlighted the pornographic images contained between the covers. Solas also posted an image of the typed-out report that she says she sent to police, writing that she is submitting “evidence of distribution of pornography at North Kingstown High School” and that the book was made “available to minor children.”

“Gender Queer” is also highlighted in the library of East Greenwich High School, another school in Rhode Island, prompting Solas to call for the prosecution of the school employees who are responsible for its distribution.

The book, which is currently ranked no. 11 in Amazon’s “LGBTQ+ Graphic Novels” section, features discussion of gay sexual fantasies and is incredibly graphic, including scenes of gay men having sex and a scene of one man performing oral sex on another. Appeals Court Rules Ban on ‘Conversion Therapy’ Unconstitutional

A federal appeals court on Friday ruled that ordinances in Florida banning the licensed counseling of people with unwanted same-sex attractions are unconstitutional violations of the freedom of speech.

“We hold that the challenged ordinances violate the First Amendment because they are content-based regulations of speech that cannot survive strict scrutiny,” the ruling from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said.

The decision was the first from a federal appeals court laws against so-called “conversion therapy” – a term rejected by proponents – since a 2018 U.S. Supreme Court ruling. In NIFLA v. Becerra, the high court ruled the government cannot force an individual or organization to express a message chosen by the government.

The current case, Otto, et al v. City of Boca Raton, found that bans by Boca Raton and Palm Beach County violate the Constitution.

The case was fought by Liberty Counsel, which represents Robert Otto and Julie Hamilton and their minor clients. (Read more from “Appeals Court Rules Ban on ‘Conversion Therapy’ Unconstitutional” HERE)

Mayor Calls LGBTQ Rights Movement ‘an Affront to Almighty God’

A New Jersey mayor called the LGBTQ rights movement “an affront to almighty God” at a town council meeting and warned that people who support “unrighteous laws” will be held accountable.

Barnegat Township Mayor Alfonso Cirulli, a former assistant principal, began Tuesday by condemning a state law that requires LGBTQ-inclusive material be taught in public school. He said the law “crossed over the line into absurdity” and politicians “have no right to promote the LGBT agenda.”

He said, “There is no hate or bigotry intended here,” and that his comments did not represent the Barnegat Township Committee. Barnegat Township’s legislative body is called a committee. The town of about 20,000 is on New Jersey’s south shore. . .

In January, New Jersey followed California to become the second state in the country to require that public schools teach LGBTQ- and disability-inclusive curricula. (Read more from “New Jersey Mayor Calls LGBTQ Rights Movement ‘an Affront to Almighty God'” HERE)

Christian Views Kept Star Player off U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, According to Complaints

By Fox News. As the U.S. Women’s World Cup champions continue to celebrate their recent triumph, some observers are wondering whether a top-tier American player was left off the team because of her religious views.

Jaelene Hinkle, 26, a native of Colorado who played college soccer at Texas Tech, is a defender for the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League. . .

But in 2015, Hinkle had objected publicly to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that legalized same-sex marriage.

Jesus didn't come to save those who already believed in Him. He came so that the lost, rejected, and abandoned men and women would find Him and believe. I believe with every fiber in my body that what was written 2,000 years ago in the Bible is undoubtedly true. It's not a fictional book. It's not a pick and choose what you want to believe. You either believe it, or you don't. This world may change, but Christ and His Word NEVER will. My heart is that as Christians we don't begin to throw a tantrum over what has been brought into law today, but we become that much more loving. That through our love, the lost, rejected, and abandoned find Christ. The rainbow was a convent made between God and all his creation that never again would the world be flooded as it was when He destroyed the world during Noah's time. It's a constant reminder that no matter how corrupt this world becomes, He will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you Lord for your amazing grace, even during times of trial and confusion. Love won over 2,000 years ago when the greatest sacrifice of all time was made for ALL mankind. ❤️💜💛💚💙

Then, in 2017 Hinkle drew criticism when she declined to play in two matches for the U.S. women’s national team, reportedly because she didn’t want to wear special team jerseys recognizing Gay Pride Month. . .

Later, Hinkle was dropped from the U.S. national team for reasons solely related to soccer, team officials claimed, according to the newspaper. But the report noted that Hinkle’s public persona contrasts sharply with that of Team USA captain Megan Rapinoe, who also plays in the NWSL. U.S. Women’s Team Snub of Christian Player Roils Soccer

By The Washington Times. The celebration continued Wednesday for the U.S. women’s soccer team after its historic Women’s World Cup title, even as questions resurfaced about why one of the best players in the nation wasn’t there. . .

Conservative pundit Erick Erickson said Monday that she was “shoved aside” in a sport known for “feminist virtue signaling,” while The Irish Times ran the June 12 headline “Religious clash leaves USA’s best left back an observer of World Cup bid.”

“You do have a very activist team. It’s very much a part of the program,” said John Stonestreet, president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview in Colorado Springs, Colorado. “And if we were talking about just any player, it wouldn’t be really clear, but just because of her abilities — Jaelene Hinkle is a heck of a player — it makes it that much more suspect.”

He said the episode offered a warning to Christians seeking to live out their faith while pursuing their professional dreams: Chances are that they, too, will face a choice. It could be whether to wear the jersey. It could be whether to bake the cake.

“We know that increasingly there is going to have to be conformity on your viewpoint to be able to participate,” Stonestreet said. “I think that’s inevitable. We use the phrase ‘the theology of being fired’ — in this case, it’s the theology of being cut.” (Read more from “U.S. Women’s Team Snub of Christian Player Roils Soccer” HERE)

Opinion: If a Straight Pride Parade Is Stupid, so Is a Gay Pride Parade

Personally, I agree with the people who say that the upcoming “straight pride parade” in Boston is a silly stunt. It’s not something that I would have any interest in attending, though I do appreciate the intentional irony of Milo Yiannopolous being named the parade’s grand marshal.

I believe I am on stable intellectual ground in calling the parade silly, as I have also said the same about gay pride parades. In fact, I think parades, in general — festive traffic jams, as I call them — are kind of stupid. But there are at least some justifiable reasons to throw one. Winning a war would be one good reason. Winning a Super Bowl would be another. If we are going to have a parade to announce our pride in something, it ought to be a real achievement. Or else it should at least be some occasion for actual celebration, such as a holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas. But your sexual orientation is neither an achievement nor a holiday. You have not accomplished anything simply by being attracted to one sex or another.

It is argued that the real purpose of a gay pride parade is to resist and protest the persecution of homosexuals. Heterosexuals are not persecuted for being heterosexuals, so the argument goes, and therefore a heterosexual pride parade is pointless. But if that’s the point of a pride parade, then why do they call it a pride parade? If it’s really a protest, then call it a protest, or a rally, or a demonstration. And in that case, why do they hold these “protests” in places like San Francisco and Los Angeles, rather than Tehran or Riyadh? It seems that these pride parades are held in precisely the places where gays are not persecuted.

All the evidence indicates that gay pride parades are indeed gay pride parades. That is, they are parades that give gay people the opportunity to announce their pride in being gay. Indeed, the New York City Pride Parade website calls its event a “pride celebration.” Another LGBT website puts it plainly: Gay people should “feel pride in being gay.” If you agree that gays should feel pride in their gayness, and that parades ought to be held across the country to celebrate that pride, and to “create inclusive places for self-expression” for homosexuals, then it would obviously be a ludicrous double standard to insist that heterosexuals are not entitled to a similar celebration for themselves. Battle Over Censoring Homosexual Therapy Intensifies

A significant free-speech case in which liberal activists are pressing states to censor viewpoints with which they disagree is only a step away from the U.S. Supreme Court.

That’s after Liberty Counsel filed a brief asking the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to overrule a district court’s ruling against therapy involving “sexual orientation change efforts,” or SOCE. . .

Liberty Counsel sued on behalf of counselors Robert Otto and Julie Hamilton and their minor clients. U.S. District Court Judge Robin Rosenberg, despite acknowledging First Amendment protections, refused to grant a preliminary order blocking the ordinances while the case proceeds. . .

“These ordinances are unconstitutional speech restrictions that violate the First Amendment,” said Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. “We have a number of similar challenges pending in other federal courts. It is just a matter of time before one of them gets to the Supreme Court and may put an end to these draconian speech restrictions.” . . .

“In National Institute for Family & Life Advocates v. Becerra (NIFLA), involving crisis pregnancy centers, the U.S. Supreme Court made it clear that the government must satisfy the highest constitutional scrutiny when it enacts laws infringing on the speech of licensed professionals. Although Judge Rosenberg acknowledged that the city and county failed to show that their ordinances satisfy this high scrutiny, she still denied the preliminary injunction,” the organization said.
