Iron Alliance: U.S. To Purchase Israel’s Iron Dome Weapons Defense System

By Daily Wire. On Wednesday, the United States Army confirmed that plans have been finalized to buy two of Israel’s Iron Dome weapons system batteries for $373 million.

The two batteries will include 12 launchers, two radars, two battlement management centers, and 240 interceptors, the Times of Israel reports.

In a statement, U.S. Army Col. Patrick Seiber said that the Army will determine if the system can be used to protect U.S. military service members.

“The Iron Dome will be assessed and experimented as a system that is currently available to protect deployed U.S. military service members against a wide variety of indirect fire threats and aerial threats,” Seiber said, according to CNN. “While Iron Dome has been in operational use by the Israeli Air Force since 2011 and proven effective in combat, it should be noted that the U.S. Army will assess a variety of options for its long-term IFPC solution.”

Netanyahu Hails U.S. Purchase of Israeli Iron Dome Batteries

By The Times of Israel. The Israeli Defense Ministry and US Department of Defense on Wednesday confirmed that the US Army will buy Israeli-developed Iron Dome batteries to defend deployed American troops.

Announcing the purchase, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also serves as defense minister, said the deal was proof of the strength of the relationship between the two countries, before warning Israel’s enemies not to test the strength of the country’s “iron fist.”

“This is a great achievement for Israel and yet another expression of the strengthening of our powerful alliance with the US and an expression of Israel’s rising status in the world,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “Israel has an Iron Dome and an iron fist. Our systems know how to deal with any threat, both in defense and in attack. Israeli Officials Announce Start of Construction on New Steel Barrier Along Gaza Border

Israel is working on its own version of a border wall. The Defense Ministry announced Sunday that it began building the above-ground portion of the Gaza border barrier, Haaretz.com, an Israeli news outlet reported. . .

The galvanized steel fence will span 40 miles and stand 20 feet high. Additionally, the western portion of the barrier will connect to the new sea barrier being built by the Israel Defense Forces.

The fence is designed to “prevent terrorists from Gaza from penetrating into our territory on the ground,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told media before the weekly cabinet meeting, the website France24 reported.

In addition, the structure is designed to prevent the construction of underground tunnels from Gaza. The project is estimated to cost the equivalent of about $833 million U.S. dollars. Its concrete wall will have sensors, according to Haaretz. . .

Palestinians have gathered along the Gaza border in numerous violent protests because they want to return to the land their families left during the war in 1948. They also want to end the blockade of Gaza by the Jewish state. At least 246 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since March 30. The majority happened during border protests but others were the result of “tank fire and airstrikes,” France 24 reported. Still Want to Boycott Israel? Israeli Scientists Find Cure for Cancer

For all the Israel-haters out there, they’d better hope that that Israelis are forgiving if they are stricken with cancer, because if a new report out of Israel turns out to be true, scientists in the Jewish state have discovered a cure. And not just a cure for certain forms of cancer, but a complete cure for the deadly disease.

According to Dan Aridor, chairman of the board of Accelerated Evolution Biotechnologies Ltd. (AEBi) and CEO Dr. Ilan Morad, their treatment will not need time for the body to acculturate to it before it works. Aridor stated, “We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer. … Our cancer cure will be effective from day one … and will have no or minimal side-effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market. Our solution will be both generic and personal.”

As the Jerusalem Post reports, “An estimated 18.1 million new cancer cases are diagnosed worldwide each year, according to reports by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Further, every sixth death in the world is due to cancer, making it the second leading cause of death (second only to cardiovascular disease).”

The treatment is called MuTaTo (multi-target toxin), and works much like antibiotics do in targeting bacteria. MuTaTo is based on SoAP technology, which works by finding, binding and removing bacteria by utilizing bacteriophage-derived proteins. Bacteriophages are viruses that infect bacteria.

MuTaTo inserts DNA coding for a protein into a bacteriophage. Once inside, the protein shows up on the phage’s surface, making it apparent to researchers who can use the phages to find interactions with other proteins, DNA sequences and small molecules. Unlike 2018 Nobel Prize-winning scientists George Smith and Gregory Winter, who used phage display to evolve new proteins or antibodies, the Israelis are producing peptides, which Morad says are better equipped for the job because they are smaller, less expensive and less difficult to manage. Rashida Tlaib’s Ties to Anti-Semitism Run Deeper Than Previously Known

Michigan Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s ties to anti-Semitism run deeper than previously known, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

Tlaib, part of a heralded freshman class of House Democrats, has already come under scrutiny over her positions on Israel and ties to fringe figures. But TheDCNF’s investigation uncovered additional ties to anti-Semitism.

Tlaib is a member of the Facebook group “Palestinian American Congress,” where members often demonize Jews. The group’s founder, Palestinian activist Maher Abdel-qader, was a key fundraiser for Tlaib and organized campaign events for her around the country.

In January 2018, Abdel-qader shared an anti-Semitic video that claimed Jews aren’t actually Jewish, and invented their historical claim to Israel and secretly control the media. . .

Israel, in Rare Move, Announces Attacks on Iranian Targets

Israel confirmed early Monday that its military attacked Iranian targets in Syria, in a rare statement on such an operation.

“We have started striking Iranian Quds targets in Syrian territory,” the military statement said. “We warn the Syrian Armed Forces against attempting to harm Israeli forces or territory.” . . .

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently confirmed that Israel had struck hundreds of targets in Syria linked to Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah militant group, including a weapons facility two weeks ago. Iran and Hezbollah are allied with the Syrian government in the civil war.

Two hours after the reports that Israel’s Iron Dome intercepted a rocket fired toward the Golan Heights, Netanyahu, who currently is on a visit to Chad, said in a statement: “We have a defined policy: to harm Iranian entrenchment in Syria and to harm anyone who tries to harm us.”

Earlier Sunday, a roadside bomb went off south of Damascus; the extent of the damage and any possible injuries was unclear. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which closely monitors Syria’s war, said the bomb targeted the vehicle of a “security personality” that it did not identify. The Observatory’s chief, Rami Abdurrahman, said it was unclear whether the individual was killed or wounded. “It was not a random act,” he added. Embattled Women’s March Co-Leader Refuses to Acknowledge Israel’s Right to Exist

Tamika Mallory, controversial co-president of the Women’s March and associate of Louis Farrakhan — leader of the Nation of Islam — refused during a recent PBS interview to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. . .

Hoover went on to ask Mallory if she believed Israel has a right to exist as a nation — and Mallory responded in a rather vague manner.

“I feel everyone has a right to exist. … I just don’t feel that everyone has a right to exist at the disposal of another group,” Mallory answered. “I believe that all people have the right to exist, and that Palestinians are also suffering with a great crisis. And that there are other Jewish scholars who will still sit here and say the same.”

“I’m done talking about this,” she concluded. “You can move on.”

WATCH: Democrat Rep Defends Past Anti-Semitic Statement on Exposing ‘Evil Doings’ of Israel

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) defended a past anti-Semitic remark she made on Twitter in an interview with PBS on Tuesday, saying those were “the only words I could think about expressing at that moment.”

“Can I just move on to something that’s generally a rite of passage for politicians in the United States, and that is to sort of profess a sort of fealty or at least pay homage to AIPAC, the pro-Israel PAC that is very, very prominent,” PBS’s Christiane Amanpour said. “Should Jewish Americans be worried about congresswoman Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib because of the BDS movement, because of one of the tweets you made a long time ago, you were part of a new wave of Democrats not afraid to be critical of the government of Israel.”

“During the 2012 military offensive in Gaza, you tweeted, ‘Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,” Amanpour continued. “How do you put that into context now and what do you say to American Jews?”

“I remember when that was happening, watching tv and really feeling as if no other life was being impacted in this war and that really, those unfortunate words were the only words I could think about expressing at that moment,” Omar replied. “What is really important to me is that people recognize that there is a difference between criticizing a military action by a government that has exercised really oppressive policies and being offensive or attacky [sic] to particular people of faith.”

Omar then tried to justify her criticism of Israel by attacking another U.S. ally, Saudi Arabia, saying that she also calls for action against them.

Only Two Democrat Senators Will Publicly Oppose the Anti-Israel BDS Movement

Sen. Marco Rubio threw a rock at a political hornet’s nest on Monday when he tweeted, “The shutdown is not the reason Senate Democrats don’t want to move to Middle East Security Bill. A huge argument broke out at Senate Dem meeting last week over BDS. A significant # of Senate Democrats now support #BDS & Dem leaders want to avoid a floor vote that reveals that.”

Twitter erupted — as it is wont to do — with users arguing whether this reflected insider knowledge or was a convenient lie. Personally, I’m inclined to believe there’s something to what Rubio wrote. Anyone who’s followed American foreign policy in recent years knows that the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement is an explosive and barely contained hot-button issue for Democrats.

Consider that one year ago, Pew Research polled Americans’ attitudes toward Israel and the Palestinians. They reported that “the partisan divide in Middle East sympathies, for Israel or the Palestinians, is now wider than at any point since 1978. Currently, 79% of Republicans say they sympathize more with Israel than the Palestinians, compared with just 27% of Democrats.”

Drilling down, Pew quantified the change within the Democratic Party’s progressive wing that’s been apparent to Middle East watchers for some time: “The share of liberal Democrats who sympathize more with Israel than the Palestinians has declined from 33% to 19% since 2016. Currently, nearly twice as many liberal Democrats say they sympathize more with the Palestinians than with Israel (35% vs. 19%).”

Lest these numbers be dismissed as theoretical concerns, Midwestern voters just elected the nation’s first two pro-BDS members of Congress. Of course, neither Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan nor Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota were particularly forthright about their views during election season. It wasn’t until after winning her Democratic primary that Tlaib “explicitly endors[ed] a one-state solution and oppos[ed] aid [to Israel], a change celebrated by far-left Palestinian activists, who sharply criticized her for seeking out and receiving the J Street endorsement.” Omar didn’t publicly acknowledge that she supported BDS until after November’s election. WATCH: Women’s March Leader Took Part in Anti-Israel Demonstration in Nazareth

Years before Carmen Perez became a nationally-known co-chair of the Women’s March on Washington, she was part of a delegation of black liberation activists who promoted a Palestinian-led drive targeting the State of Israel. . .

While in Nazareth, commonly known as “the Arab capital of Israel,” Perez participated in a solidarity demonstration calling for the boycott, divestment and sanctions against that country. A video documenting the flash mob-style spectacle shows her performing the dabke – a traditional Palestinian folk dance – along with Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors and other allies which Perez described as “my revolutionary freedom fighters.”

The ceremony began with participants being smudged with sage to rid the space of negative energy followed by a monologue from Marc Lamont Hill – a former CNN pundit who was let go by the network in November after making controversial comments about Israel.

“We came here to Palestine to stand in love and revolutionary struggle with our brothers and sisters,” Hill said in the video. “We come to a land that has been stolen by greed and destroyed by hate. We come here, and we learn laws that have been co-signed in ink but written in the blood of the innocent, and we stand next to people who continue to courageously struggle and resist the occupation.” . . .

Perez represented a task force she co-founded in 2013 called Justice League NYC. It is part of The Gathering of Justice network, where Perez serves as executive director. Fellow Women’s March co-chairs Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour were also part of that organization.

New Dem Congresswoman Literally Wipes Israel off Her Office Map

The anti-Israel wing of the Democrat party is already making a stir on day one of its congressional tenure.

The office of incoming Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who claims Palestinian heritage, has placed a so-called correction on the map in her office, replacing the sovereign state of Israel with a post-it note that says “Palestine” on it.

So Tlaib has literally wiped Israel off the map on her first day in office. Islamic supremacist and anti-Semitic activist Linda Sarsour was on hand this morning for Tlaib’s swearing-in ceremony. Sarsour arrived in Washington days after keynoting an end-of-the-year Islamist conference in Chicago.

Tlaib has often raised awareness about her so-called Palestinian heritage while promoting false information about Palestinian claims to the land governed by Israel.

Bolstering her anti-Israel bona fides, Rep. Tlaib openly supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which is committed to the isolation and future elimination of the state of Israel.

Upon winning her Democratic primary race in Michigan, Tlaib was seen dancing with a Palestinian flag.

Rep. Tlaib is also a person of concern to U.S. partners in the Middle East. A lengthy expose published in November in Al Arabiya voiced concern about her pro-Muslim Brotherhood, pro-Islamist policy positions.

According to her brother, Tlaib will be sworn in today on Thomas Jefferson’s Quran (which the American Founding Father studied to better understand the jihadi Barbary Pirates), and she will be wearing a Palestinian flag.
