JD Vance Attacks Thomas Massie—But It’s Massie Who Truly Represents ‘America First’

Vice President JD Vance took aim at Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie this week, accusing him of being “unwilling to provide” key votes for the Republican Party and claiming that his independent streak has alienated party leadership. But the truth is, Massie’s record shows he’s one of the few remaining members of Congress who actually embodies the America First values many politicians merely campaign on.

Speaking at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, Vance told the crowd that “every time Republicans have needed Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for a vote, he has been completely unwilling to provide it.” He added that Massie “always votes against the party,” suggesting that this is why President Trump has backed a primary challenger against him.

“It’s because we can never count on him for some of the most difficult votes,” Vance said. “I wish that that weren’t the case. I say that as somebody who’s known Thomas well before I got into politics, but politics is politics.”

But that criticism misunderstands what America First was supposed to mean. The slogan wasn’t about blind loyalty to party leadership or corporate donors—it was about defending American sovereignty, fighting corruption, rejecting endless wars, and protecting the rights and livelihoods of ordinary citizens. And on those fronts, Massie has delivered time and again.

In response to Vance’s remarks, Massie fired back with his willingness to stand alone when principles are at stake:

“When leaders of my own party protect sex traffickers, spend our grandkids into oblivion, fund endless wars, lockdown our citizens, bailout corporations, bow to other countries, and hurt small farmers… it’s true that I won’t be their yes man.”

That post, shared on X, was a direct shot at the political establishment—including within his own party—that has too often prioritized power and profit over the people they serve.

Massie has long been one of the few voices in Congress willing to challenge bipartisan corruption and globalist influence. He voted against massive omnibus spending bills that plunged the country deeper into debt, opposed military interventions that had no clear benefit to America, and called for the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files—a move that few in either party have supported.

In another recent X post, Massie pointed out that Congress has been actively avoiding accountability on the Epstein issue:

“This is a victory for victims. However, it appears that rich and powerful men in the United States have immunities and privileges exceeding those of Royalty in Britain. @SpeakerJohnson is avoiding a vote on releasing Epstein files by keeping the House in recess. It’s not a hoax.”

JD Vance’s criticism of Massie reveals a troubling shift in what the so-called America First movement has come to represent. Once rooted in anti-establishment populism, it now risks devolving into the very kind of political machine it was meant to oppose—demanding conformity instead of courage.

Massie, by contrast, has consistently fought to keep government accountable and restrained. He has resisted trillion-dollar spending packages, opposed corporate bailouts, and fought against unconstitutional lockdowns—all while refusing to sell out his convictions for political favor.

His independence isn’t betrayal—it’s integrity. It’s exactly what millions of voters wanted when they rejected the swamp in 2016.

Thomas Massie may not be the GOP’s “yes man.” But that’s precisely why so many Americans trust him more than the ones who are.

JD Vance Slams Zohran Mamdani for Making ‘His Auntie’ the ‘Real Victim of 9/11’

Vice President JD Vance criticized New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on Saturday, writing on X that according to the Democrat, “the real victim of 9/11” was his aunt.

Vance made the remark as early voting began Saturday in New York City, where Mamdani, the frontrunner in the race, is trying to fend off challengers Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa.

“I want to speak to the memory of my aunt. Who stopped taking the subway after September 11th because she did not feel safe in her hijab,” Mamdani said in a clip of a Friday campaign event that Vance shared.

“According to Zohran, the real victim of 9/11 was his auntie who got some (allegedly) bad looks,” Vance said.

Mamdani also said Friday that, “I want to speak to the Muslim who works for our city, whether they teach in our schools or walk the beat for the NYPD, New Yorkers who all make daily sacrifices for the city they call home, only to see their leaders spit in their face.” (Read more from “JD Vance Slams Zohran Mamdani for Making ‘His Auntie’ the ‘Real Victim of 9/11’” HERE)

GOP Senator Blasts JD Vance’s ‘Despicable and Thoughtless Sentiment’ Following U.S. Strike on ‘Drug Boat’ That Killed 11

Rand Paul slammed JD Vance for his comments celebrating the U.S.’s lethal strike on a vessel involved in the drug trade that was coming out of Venezuela.

The vice president has been praising the military’s attack that allegedly killed 11 Tren de Aragua narco terrorists – despite the strike’s murky legal justification.

‘Killing cartel members who poison our fellow citizens is the highest and best use of our military,’ Vance wrote on X.

The classic Harper Lee novel To Kill a Mockingbird portrays a case of a man wrongfully accused of rape.

Paul capped off his post with: ‘What a despicable and thoughtless sentiment it is to glorify killing someone without a trial.’

The Senator was referencing Vance’s response to a liberal journalist who said ‘killing the citizens of another nation who are civilians without any due process is called a war crime.’ (Read more from “GOP Senator Blasts JD Vance’s ‘Despicable and Thoughtless Sentiment’ Following U.S. Strike on ‘Drug Boat’ That Killed 11” HERE)

JD Vance Predicts Indictments Over Russia Hoax Allegations

Vice President JD Vance says criminal charges are likely for individuals involved in what he called the “Russiagate” scandal, claiming that senior officials from the Obama administration misled the public and abused intelligence processes to damage Donald Trump’s presidency.

Speaking with Sunday Morning Futures host Maria Bartiromo in an interview, Vance pointed to documents released last month by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard described the material — which includes memos and intelligence assessments — as evidence of a “years-long coup” to undermine Trump after his 2016 election victory over Hillary Clinton.

“Absolutely, Maria,” Vance said when asked if he wanted to see indictments. “You indict people because they broke the law. If you look at what Tulsi and [FBI Director] Kash Patel have revealed in the last couple of weeks, I don’t know how anyone can look at that and say there weren’t aggressive violations of the law.”

Vance alleged that officials “laundered” Clinton campaign talking points through the intelligence community, exaggerating information that fit a predetermined narrative while suppressing contradictory evidence.

The controversy stems from the now-discredited Steele Dossier, compiled by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, which alleged ties between Trump’s campaign and Russia. Special Counsel John Durham’s 2023 report concluded the FBI “did not and could not corroborate” the dossier’s claims. FBI analyst Brian Auten testified in 2022 that the bureau offered Steele $1 million to substantiate his allegations — something Steele never did.

The dossier was nevertheless cited by multiple media outlets and used to obtain warrants to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. In 2022, the Federal Election Commission fined Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee for their role in funding the dossier.

“I absolutely think they broke the law,” Vance said. “It is sick and it’s disgusting. It hurt the intelligence community, it hurt the American people, and it hurt the first Trump Administration. We’ve got to have consequences for it.”

Vance argued that the intelligence community should be focused on protecting Americans from real threats, not engaging in political manipulation. “I want them catching bad guys, not laundering campaign talking points into the media and giving them an air of legitimacy,” he said.

Vance to Meet With FBI, DOJ Officials Over Epstein Strategy, Possible Maxwell Interview Release

Vice President JD Vance is expected to meet with senior officials from the Department of Justice and the FBI to determine the administration’s next steps in handling the ongoing fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal — including whether to release the administration’s July interview with Ghislaine Maxwell, multiple sources confirm.

The high-stakes meeting will take place at the vice president’s residence and is expected to include Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, according to CNN and a source familiar with the planning who spoke to the Daily Caller.

The central topic of discussion will be how to craft a unified and credible response to mounting public and political pressure surrounding the Epstein case. During a two-day interview in July, Blanche reportedly questioned Maxwell about nearly 100 individuals allegedly tied to Epstein’s operations — a move many believed would lead to long-awaited transparency. However, expectations were dampened after a leaked memo, published by Axios, claimed that the investigation had concluded and no formal “client list” would be released.

Vice President Vance’s scheduled meeting comes amid growing frustration among the president’s base, many of whom feel misled after years of speculation surrounding Epstein’s network and the individuals allegedly involved. Former President Trump has recently attempted to downplay the investigation, calling the public narrative a “hoax.”

Following her interview with federal officials, Maxwell — who is currently serving a 20-year sentence — was quietly transferred from a federal prison in Florida to a minimum-security facility in Texas. Meanwhile, her legal team continues to push for privacy, filing a motion earlier this week to keep grand jury transcripts sealed in the Southern District of New York.

Public pressure has continued to mount for transparency, with one official telling the Caller, “You can arrest all the drug leaders and cartel leaders, but people want closure on this case, and the attorney general must find a better way to reconcile that.”

As the administration weighs whether to release the Maxwell interview — or potentially other sealed materials — the outcome of Vance’s meeting could signal a turning point in one of the most secretive and politically charged investigations in recent history.

VP Vance’s Tiebreaker Vote Helps Senate Pass Bill Defunding Planned Parenthood for One Year

The Senate, with the help of Vice President J.D. Vance’s tiebreaking vote, voted on Tuesday to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, effectively defunding abortion giant Planned Parenthood for one year.

The House version of President Donald Trump’s legislative package promised that no Medicaid dollars “shall be used to make payments to a prohibited entity for items and services furnished during [a] 10-year period.” The Senate version, however, cut that provision down to prohibit only twelve months of taxpayer-funded abortion.

In a last-ditch effort to protect Planned Parenthood’s flow of federal funding, Democrats tried to add a pro-abortion amendment to the BBB. The motion failed in a 49-51 vote on Monday evening.

During the same 2023-2024 period Planned Parenthood performed a record number of abortions — more than 402,000 — the abortion business collected nearly $800 million in taxpayer funds.

Planned Parenthood’s steady stream of taxpayer funding has no doubt contributed to its history of ending unborn lives (or botching its attempts to do so), allegedly flouting federal law and wasting tax dollars, dispensing castrating drugs to confused minors, reportedly trafficking baby body parts, enabling abusers, allegedly performing unlicensed procedures and violating health and safety standards, opposing free speech, and allegedly conducting procedures that have resulted in mothers’ deaths. How JD Vance Emerged Unscathed From Elon Musk’s West Wing Frenzy

Taking shots at President Donald Trump usually results in fire and fury from his second-in-command, Vice President JD Vance. Yet Vance, widely regarded as the president’s pit bull, was notably measured when responding to Elon Musk’s scathing attacks on his boss — a posture informed by his own relationship with Musk as well as direction from Trump, sources tell the Daily Caller.

It was the latest example of Vance deftly navigating the precarious Musk-Trump relationship. While other administration officials saw their names peppered in news reports about massive West Wing blow-ups with Musk, Vance emerged from the rubble mostly unscathed.

Vance’s careful positioning in the Trump-Musk feud was by design, one source familiar indicated, noting that Vance had a sense that the partnership wouldn’t last and thus was careful not to get too involved in the day-to-day shifting sands.

Days before his damaging public blow-up, Musk was in the Oval Office for a press conference celebrating his final days in the administration. Trump awarded Musk with a giant gold key to the White House as a thank you.

The press conference was celebratory in nature. But Musk’s graceful exit quickly devolved with a series of attacks on Trump. (Read more from “How JD Vance Emerged Unscathed From Elon Musk’s West Wing Frenzy” HERE)

Vice President JD Vance, Pope Francis Brush Off ‘Public Tiff,’ ‘Rift’ Media Claims At Easter Sunday Vatican Meeting

Vice President JD Vance met with Pope Francis on Easter Sunday, a diplomatic high water mark amid his ongoing April 18-24 trip to Italy, Vatican City and India.

The meeting lasted “some minutes and they exchanged Easter greetings,” according to a Vatican statement. The visit occurred at 11:30 a.m. local time in the pope’s residence in the Casa Santa Marta as Easter Sunday Mass was celebrated nearby in Saint Peter’s Square. Since Pope Francis, 88, is convalescing from double pneumonia after a 38-day hospitalization, the role of celebrant of the liturgy commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ was delegated to Cardinal Angelo Comastri, the retired archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica.

The second family attended a separate, private Mass at the Papal Basilica of Saint Paul Outside-The-Walls, according to a Sunday press release from the Office of the Vice President.

“It’s good to see you in better health,” Vance told the Holy Father. The pope gifted him with a Vatican tie, blessed rosaries and three Easter eggs for his children. Before departing the brief encounter, Vance revealed to the bishop of Rome, “I pray for you every day.” (Read more from “Vice President JD Vance, Pope Francis Brush Off ‘Public Tiff,’ ‘Rift’ Media Claims At Easter Sunday Vatican Meeting” HERE)

JD Vance Calls on Americans to Have ‘Courage to Live the Truth’

There is only one way to reclaim Western civilization, Vice President JD Vance said Tuesday night: exhibiting the courage to speak the truth.

“We’re not going to rebuild prosperity and opportunity,” Vance said. “We’re not going to rebuild the kind of society where we teach children the important virtues and skills to thrive, as opposed to trying to tear our kids down, which is what I think our education system does all too often. We’re not going to rebuild a foreign policy that’s rooted in our shared interest, rather than in liberal values that were invented 20 or 30 years ago, but have become the innovating concept of the foreign policy of too many Western leaders and too many Western nations. We’re not going to solve any of these problems unless we have the courage to speak the truth, unless we have the courage to live the truth.”

President Donald Trump has this courage, Vance said.

“One of the things that makes me most proud of our administration, not that we’ve won every battle, or win every battle. Some of these battles are going to take 20, 30, 40, years for us to see, I think, through to ultimate victory,” Vance said. “But the president, I’m very proud to say, is not a person who is afraid of criticism from those in power.”

“And I think there’s anything that sort of ties the first Trump administration to the second Trump administration and the president’s entire political career, is that this is a guy with incredible courage,” the vice president continued. “He just doesn’t care what other people say about him. He doesn’t care what the media writes about him. He’s going to do what he thinks is right.” (Read more from “JD Vance Calls on Americans to Have ‘Courage to Live the Truth’” HERE)

JD Vance Makes Historic Greenland Visit as Trump Pushes for U.S. Control of the Island

Vice President JD Vance is in Greenland this week, making the case for a U.S. takeover of the region, arguing that bringing the strategically located island under American control would strengthen national security and economic interests. This is the furthest North any senior White House leader has ever traveled on an official trip. Vance’s proposal highlights Greenland’s vital position in the Arctic, saying that with Greenland’s sovereignty, the territory would soon see the benefit of partnering with the U.S.

On Friday, Vance, along with Second Lady Usha Vance, delivered a historic speech in Greenland, stressing the critical need to strengthen Arctic security, particularly around key sites like Pituffik Space Base. During his address, Vance highlighted the long-standing mistreatment of the Greenlandic people by Danish leaders, pointing out how they’ve been treated as second-class citizens while the island’s infrastructure has deteriorated. Expect the Vice President to echo these concerns moving forward.

Vance pointed to Greenland’s vital position in the Arctic, where increasing geopolitical tensions with countries like China and Russia make its resources and military importance more crucial than ever.

“We can’t just bury our head in the sand — or, in Greenland, bury our head in the snow — and pretend that the Chinese are not interested in this very large landmass. We know that they are,” he said.
