White House Tells Travelers to Continue Masking but Defends Ending Title 42 (VIDEO)

While it’s nothing new for the Biden White House, Monday’s briefing by Jen Psaki put a somewhat-chaotic exclamation point on how disjointed the administration’s guidance and mandates have been regarding COVID-19.

Happening just hours after a federal judge in Florida struck down the CDC’s mask mandate for travelers, Psaki was unable or unwilling to answer multiple questions about whether travelers must still wear masks.

Calling the ruling a “disappointing decision,” Psaki quickly made clear that the White House was caught off-guard in the midst of its Easter festivities by the court decision.

Pelosi-Biden Smooch Doesn’t Constitute COVID-19 ‘Close Contact,’ Psaki Maintains

White House press secretary Jen Psaki fielded numerous questions Thursday about President Joe Biden’s possible exposure to coronavirus and maintained that despite being roughly seven feet away from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for 15 minutes and receiving a kiss on the cheek, he has not been a “close contact” to any of the lawmakers or members of his Cabinet to contract the virus this week.

Psaki repeatedly referred back to exposure guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is “15 minutes of contact within a set period of time, and within six feet.”

“It did not meet that bar,” she responded when asked specifically about Pelosi’s kiss. “It does not mean that no one will get COVID around the world who does not have a close contact. It just means we are defining for all of you whether the president and their interaction met the definition of the CDC of having a close contact.” (Read more from “Pelosi-Biden Smooch Doesn’t Constitute COVID-19 ‘Close Contact,’ Psaki Maintains” HERE)

Psaki Gives Nearly Identical Answer 5 Times When Talking Russian Invasion

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki provided nearly identical answers in recent months when fielding questions from reporters on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Democrats’ push to federalize voting laws.

In at least five separate instances, Psaki asserted that Russia and its economic allies should be thinking about how they want to be remembered in history books and what side of history they would like to fall on when pressed on the world response to the war in Ukraine.

Psaki was asked Friday why President Biden had not made specific requests to Chinese President Xi Jinping that morning during their conversation about Vladimir Putin’s recent attacks against Ukrainian cities. She suggested China could be cowed by how it will be judged in history.

“Because China has to make a decision for themselves about where they want to stand and how they want the history books to look at them and view their actions,” Psaki said.

Just one day earlier Psaki fielded another question about China’s relationship with Russia, arguing that it was a question for any country of “where you want to be as the history books are written.” (Read more from “Psaki Gives Nearly Identical Answer 5 Times When Talking Russian Invasion” HERE)

Jen Psaki’s Pivot on ‘Temporary’ Inflation Backfired (VIDEO)

. . .Last week, Jen Psaki tried to pivot on inflation, saying to watch the Fed regarding the forecasts (via Fox Business):

Psaki told reporters that gas prices are expected to continue surging in the coming months due in large part to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Psaki communicated that White House experts expect the markets to eventually stabilize and inflation to slow, saying the energy crisis is only “temporary.”

No. First, this isn’t a Putin problem. Is it helping? Hell no. But inflation and gas prices were already rising well before Russian troops stormed into Ukraine. Voters know this. It’s another sign that Biden and his crew are surrounded by the facts and realities of their own incompetence. Second, there’s no need for the Fed assessment as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the pain of inflation will last another year.

Talk about a backfire. I understand trying to shift and juke to escape a tackle, but to get pancaked by your own team? Biden’s crew is chucking all sorts of boomerangs to pass the buck on their stunning record of failure.

Reporter Asks Psaki if Intel Community Working to Protect Trump After Assassination Video

During a briefing on Thursday, CBS News’ Weijia Jiang asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki about the video from Iran showing a mock drone assassination of former President Donald Trump.

After bringing up the video, Jiang asked: “Is the intelligence community assessing this threat and working with former President Trump to offer protection of any kind?”

Psaki responded, saying that she wouldn’t “speak to the work of our intelligence community.” However, she added that this kind of “offensive rhetoric and behavior” from Iran’s leader has been seen before.

Jiang pressed again, but Psaki said she didn’t have “more details.”

The reporter did later receive a response from the White House, which condemned the video, noted that intelligence matters aren’t discussed publicly, and added: “The United States will protect and defend its citizens. This includes those serving the United States now and those who formerly served.” (Read more from “Reporter Asks Psaki if Intel Community Working to Protect Trump After Assassination Video” HERE)

Give Us a Break: Psaki Says Biden Has No ‘Time to Think’ Despite Frequent Trips Home

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday that President Biden thinks he needs more downtime — despite the fact that he’s spent more than a quarter of his days in office at one of his Delaware homes.

“I know the president doesn’t have public events today,” Psaki told reporters during her regular briefing. “He does have a number of meetings with policy teams and that’s often what he’s doing behind the scenes.”

“If he were standing here today — which I know he’s always invited, is what you guys will say, but he would say we never give him any free time or any time to think,” the press secretary added. “And that is probably true.”

Biden, 79, is the oldest person to be president and returned Monday to the White House from his home in Wilmington, Del., where he routinely spends weekends. He took no reporter questions on Monday or Tuesday amid record-high COVID-19 cases caused by the more contagious Omicron variant.

The president has spent part of at least 95 days in Delaware, about 27 percent of his term so far, according to former CBS News reporter Mark Knoller, who is respected for his record-keeping on presidential statistics.

Actress Kirstie Alley Slams Jen Psaki’s Attitude: ‘Build Your Manners Back Better’

On Thursday, award-winning actress Kirstie Alley slammed White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, saying she perpetuates “mean girl s***” and is condescending.

“Omg Jen Saki [sic].. can you answer ANY question FULLY and without that condescending smirk? We are an audience of Americans who are listening in earnest for answers, not mean girl [s***]. Build your manners back better,” Alley wrote on Twitter. . .

In an interview with Fox News in October 2020, Alley doubled-down on her support for Trump, saying that she doesn’t take anything personally when she is attacked for her political views. (Read more from “Actress Kirstie Alley Slams Jen Psaki’s Attitude: ‘Build Your Manners Back Better’” HERE)

Psaki Blames Republicans for Bidenflation

White House press secretary Jen Psaki blamed Republicans’ opposition to Biden’s Build Back Better plan when a reporter asked Friday about high inflation.

A reporter asked Psaki about President Joe Biden’s plan to pass the $1.75 trillion Build Back Better plan as Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin continues to push back on its passage due to high inflation rates and its cost.

The press secretary criticized House Republicans for voting against the legislation by arguing that the provisions within Build Back Better will help lower the rising costs of products.

“You saw every single Republican in the House vote against Build Back Better. What were they voting against? Yes, they were voting against the president’s agenda, they were also voting against lowering costs,” Psaki said. “They were voting against lowering costs for childcare, lowering costs for eldercare, lowering costs for healthcare.”

She said the president will make the case to Manchin that the Senate needs to pass the bill in order to “lower costs for the American people.” Manchin has raised several concerns about the large spending bill, citing inflation as a reason to delay the passing of the bill. Reporter Hijacks Press Conference to Grill Psaki on ‘Racist’ Travel Restrictions

A reporter interrupted Thursday’s press conference and confronted White House press secretary Jen Psaki over President Joe Biden’s “racist” travel restrictions against African countries over the Omicron variant.

The Biden administration, along with other nations, imposed travel restrictions on South Africa and its neighboring countries on Nov. 29, with the advice of White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci. South Africa had the first confirmed case of the variant, which has quickly spread to other parts of the globe.

Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba said that South Africa only accounts for 6% of the Omicron variant cases, but that nearly 70 countries have solely imposed restrictions on African countries. He challenged Psaki on the U.S. imposing restrictions on only eight African countries, rather than on all 57 countries that have confirmed cases of the variant.

“What would you say to those who believe that this is a racist ban, that it is only on African and black African nations?” Ateba pressed.

“Simon, I would convey to you that that is absolutely not the intention, that is not our policy,” Psaki said. “This was a recommendation of the health and medical experts because there was a large number of cases in South Africa, and they made a decision early on out of an abundance of caution to protect the American people to slow the spread of the variant.” (Read more from “Reporter Hijacks Press Conference to Grill Psaki on ‘Racist’ Travel Restrictions” HERE)

African Reporter Shouts at Psaki, Accuses Her of Lying About Omicron Travel Restrictions

A White House correspondent accused press secretary Jen Psaki Thursday of lying about the justification for travel restrictions targeting eight countries in southern Africa due to the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

Simon Ateba of Today News Africa began shouting over Psaki as she tried to call on Voice of America’s Patsy Widakuswara, at one point telling the press secretary: “You are saying something that is false.”

“I just answered — Simon, I answered a question on this,” Psaki said as Ateba attempted to get his question in. . .

Ateba was not called on during the briefing and continued to make himself heard as Psaki exited the briefing room. He did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment. . .

“There are zero cases of COVID — of Omicron in Zimbabwe, in Namibia, in Lesotho, in Mozambique,” Ateba asked. “What justifies imposing a travel ban on countries that have zero cases of the Omicron variant?” (Read more from “African Reporter Shouts at Psaki, Accuses Her of Lying About Omicron Travel Restrictions” HERE)
