Is Axios Serious With This Story About Trump?

There is no pandemic from which to take cover this election season. Only Joe Biden and his remarkable short list of accomplishments have brought economic torpor at home and total chaos abroad. Biden decided to leave Afghanistan, only to become ensnared by another ‘endless war’ after the gaze of a Ukrainian dictator took him in. Now, Biden is speaking out of both sides of his mouth on Israel, claiming ironclad US support for their war in Gaza but also cutting off arms shipments to appease the antisemitic segments of the Democratic Party base. So, what can the liberal media do to prop up this senile old man? Warn voters that—get this—inflation will spike if Trump is elected president again (via Axios):

Sixteen Nobel prize-winning economists are jumping into the presidential campaign with a stark warning: Former President Trump’s plans would reignite inflation and cause lasting harm to the global economy if he wins in November.

Why it matters: The Nobel laureates are lending their academic prestige to a political argument the Biden administration has been making for weeks: Inflation would be worse under Trump.

“While each of us has different views on the particulars of various economic policies, we all agree that Joe Biden’s economic agenda is vastly superior to Donald Trump,” the 16 economists write in a letter, first obtained by Axios.

I’m rolling at this piece since most of it confirms that inflation right now is too high, which in turn kills American working families. The inflation spike has already arrived, thanks to Biden’s domestic agenda. Even if we accept the Chinese math on the job figures, which are always revised down, it doesn’t matter if everyone’s wallet is getting torched. We’re a part-time economy since that’s where most of Joe Biden’s job creation comes from—foreign workers are very much replacing American citizens in the workforce. Abortion Giant Planned Parenthood Will Dump $40 Million to Boost Biden, Democrats

Abortion giant Planned Parenthood announced it is spending $40 million to prop up 81-year-old President Joe Biden and Democrats in key congressional races ahead of November, The Hill reported.

The organization, which was founded by an infamous racist with ties to the eugenics movement, made the announcement on Monday to coincide with the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. The Dobbs decision overturned the court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision — which had invented a constitutional right to abortion for 50 years — and returned the issue of abortion to individual states.

The funding blitz comes as Biden and Democrats around the country continue to make abortion the centerpiece of their campaigns, rather than addressing other pressing issue like the flailing economy and the porous southern border. For his part, Biden has promised to restore Roe v. Wade if he is reelected, and has repeatedly framed former President Donald Trump and Republicans as dangerous to women. Democrats are hoping to use the issue of abortion, along with abortion ballot measures in several states, to stir outrage and boost voter turnout. Biden’s Problem-Laden Parole System Has Drawn Over A Million Migrants To U.S., Data Reveals

President Joe Biden’s expanded parole system has drawn over a million migrants alone to the U.S. since January 2023, federal data shows. Yet a major flaw has already been found within the administration’s parole pathway — an inability to track parolees’ status once they enter the U.S.

Roughly 460,000 migrants arrived in the U.S. on commercial flights after the Biden administration granted them parole, while another 630,000 sought parolee status at ports of entry through the CBP One mobile app, according to new Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data. Since 2021, Biden’s administration has granted parole for tens of thousands of Afghans despite there not being any system in place to actually track the migrants once they make it to America, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found in May.

The OIG report raises significant questions, including whether the administration keeps track of all those who have recently been granted parole into the U.S.

On Jan. 5 2023, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a new parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans who have a “supporter” in the United States, also known as the CHNV Parole Process. Under this parole process, migrants are vetted and authorized to purchase airline tickets where they can enter the country and be granted parole. Trump and Biden Face Off in First U.S. Presidential Debate of 2024

This week, the political arena heats up as President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump engage in their first presidential debate for the 2024 election. This highly anticipated event could prove to be a pivotal moment in the race, with millions of potential voters tuning in.

The debate marks the beginning of what promises to be a contentious and intense campaign season. The United States remains deeply polarized, still reeling from the chaos and violence surrounding the 2020 election. With only two debates scheduled this cycle, Thursday’s clash takes on added significance. National polls indicate a tight race, and both candidates have escalated their personal attacks in preparation.

“The debate is important because it’s an opportunity for two well-known candidates to ‘reintroduce’ themselves to a public that knows them well but hasn’t been paying attention,” said Donald Nieman, a political analyst and history professor at Binghamton University in New York state. The key question remains how many voters, beyond the politically engaged, will tune in this early in the campaign.

For Trump, the 90-minute debate is a chance to emphasize concerns about Biden’s mental alertness, given the president’s age of 81. However, Trump himself, at 78, has faced similar age-related scrutiny. For Biden, the debate offers an opportunity to highlight Trump’s legal troubles and portray him as unfit for office. Biden must also avoid any major gaffes, which could be detrimental as November approaches.

This debate follows a criminal trial that has dominated Trump’s focus for months, with sentencing for 34 convictions of falsifying business records set for July 11. Both candidates bypassed the bipartisan commission that has managed debates since 1988, opting instead for CNN to host the early-year debate, with a second debate on ABC scheduled for September 10.

Key issues expected to dominate the debate include abortion, the state of U.S. democracy, foreign conflicts, inflation, and border security. The previous debates between Biden and Trump in 2020 were notably contentious, with memorable moments such as Biden’s exasperated “will you shut up, man?” directed at Trump. This time, moderators will have more control, with microphones muted except for the candidate speaking.

As the candidates prepare for this high-stakes encounter, the nation watches, aware that this debate could significantly influence the trajectory of the 2024 presidential election.

Trump Leads Biden by Double Digits in Latest National Poll

Former President Donald Trump has surged ahead of President Joe Biden by double digits in a national matchup, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey released on Friday. This development marks a significant lead for Trump as the 2024 presidential race heats up.

The Rasmussen Reports survey shows Trump commanding 46 percent support in a matchup that includes third-party candidates, while Biden trails with 36 percent. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. garners nine percent, followed by independent candidate Cornel West with two percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein with one percent.

In a direct head-to-head comparison, Trump extends his lead over Biden to nine points, with 49 percent of likely voters favoring Trump against 40 percent for Biden.

Conducted on June 20 among 1,000 likely voters, the survey has a margin of error of ± three percent. The results indicate a growing discontent with the current administration, as reflected in several concurrent surveys.

Notably, a May Rasmussen Reports survey revealed that a majority of Democrats, 54 percent, would prefer to see Biden replaced by another candidate for their party. Additionally, another Rasmussen survey found that 57 percent of voters believe Biden is experiencing real mental decline. This perception has been exacerbated by viral videos purportedly showcasing Biden’s cognitive challenges, which the White House has dismissed as misleading.

In response to these allegations, Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung told Breitbart News, “The truth hurts. When the Biden campaign is confronted with that cold, hard reality, they offer ridiculous claims that anyone who clearly sees Biden acting like a brain-dead dope is part of some media-wide conspiracy.” He further criticized the Biden campaign’s strategy, attributing it to “junior staffers and interns” managing the campaign for a candidate who “can barely walk and talk at the same time.”

Report: DHS Group Called Being ‘Religious’ An ‘Indicator’ Of Domestic Terrorism

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) brainstormed about infiltrating local communities to spy on Americans, and suggested being “religious” or “in the military” was an “indicator of extremists and terrorism,” excerpts of documents obtained by America First Legal (AFL) purportedly show.

These excerpts, released Thursday by AFL, purport to show how in 2023, the DHS’s newly created “Homeland Intelligence Experts Group” looked for ways to expand their spying on American citizens, including by trying to “get into local communities in a non-threatening way” to get fellow Americans to tattle tale on their neighbors.

The committee, on which John Brennan and James Clapper — both notorious for their participation in the Russia-collusion hoax as well as for falsely claiming Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation — sat, also suggested religious Americans, members of the military, and Trump supporters were possible security threats, according to segments of the documents released by AFL.

“If you ask researchers to dive into indicators of extremists and terrorism, they might indicate being in the military or religious,” one segment states. “This being identified as an indicator suggests we should be more worried about these. We need the space to talk about it honestly.”

According to the released excerpts, the group appeared to acknowledge a “political advantage” to having the “political backdrop” be tied to Trump. (Read more from “Report: DHS Group Called Being ‘Religious’ An ‘Indicator’ Of Domestic Terrorism” HERE)

CBS Teases ‘Surprises’ From Joe Biden for the Debate

We’re about a week from the first presidential debate on June 27. My colleague Bob Hoge wrote about the variations in how the candidates were preparing, with Joe Biden going into hiding at Camp David to do deep preparation with his advisors, while former President Donald Trump is continuing to campaign while doing some consultation with advisors.

The problem is there’s only so much they’re going to be able to do with Biden. But however badly he does, we need to understand that he’s going to be at the best they can get him, and even if that’s bad, the media is still going to act like he’s the Second Coming. At this point, the expectations are so low for Joe and the mainstream media is ready to hype him, if he just shows up, they will praise him to the skies.

But CBS had a report that got a lot of attention because of what they said at the end of it.

First, you know what to think of the report when Weijia Jiang says that Biden answers questions from reporters all the time, although the media would like him to answer more. If she means he ducks them most of the time, then yeah, she’s right.

She mentioned how he was prepping with his closest advisors. But these are the same guys who have advised him forever. Translation: These are the same guys who have been producing the mess that is Joe Biden that we’ve already seen every day. Will they be able to get him in any kind of shape for the debate? Biden’s ‘Amnesty’ Plan Could Turn 500,000 Illegal Aliens Into Future Voters

President Joe Biden announced an executive order (EO) Tuesday that awards amnesty to illegal immigrants married to U.S. citizens. And while he dubbed his overreach as keeping “families together,” it is nothing more than another step in Democrats’ plan to expand their future electorate.

The EO makes it easier for illegal immigrants who married U.S. citizens — and their children — to apply for lawful permanent residence status without leaving the country, and after that, U.S. citizenship. An approximate 500,000 illegal immigrants who married a U.S. citizen will benefit from this order along with 50,000 children, according to the White House.

Without providing any explanation as to how, Biden claims this will “strengthen” the U.S. economy. Notably, recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows foreign-born workers gained 637,000 jobs year-over-year while native-born workers lost roughly 299,000. The BLS acknowledges foreign-born workers likely include illegal immigrants. As economist E.J. Antoni recently explained to The Federalist, the drain illegal migrants place on the economy offsets their production value. . .

By federal law, “Non-citizens, including permanent legal residents,” are not allowed to “vote in federal, state, and most local elections,” according to USA.gov. But lawful permanent residents are “eligible to become a U.S. citizen after five years of becoming a lawful permanent resident, or three years if you are married to a U.S. citizen,” according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Unless there are specific carveouts in Biden’s executive order prohibiting individuals who came into this country illegally before receiving amnesty from registering to vote, then Biden just gifted Democrats with hundreds of thousands of potential future voters. Biden’s Public Decline Tests Limits Of White House Spin Operation

White House communications officials have been forced to spend more and more time doing damage control as election season heats up due to President Biden’s increasing frequency of senior moments.

In the month of June, several clips, interviews and stories about the president have garnered attention for highlighting the 81-year-old’s fitness and gaffes. The White House has rushed to spin each of the incidents, most recently calling the clipped videos of the president freezing and wandering off “cheap-fakes” and a product of right-wing hucksters. . .

While the videos are the most recent example of the White House’s attempt to spin concerns about Biden’s fitness, other attempts came in the weeks prior over a Wall Street Journal article and an interview with Time Magazine.

The recent videos were clipped by various twitter accounts and media outlets as they streamed live, but the White House claimed the clips were distorted, cropped or taken out of context to misrepresent the president’s actions.

“It was a cheap — you know, a cheap fake. That was definitely a cheap fake. It was. This was widely fact-checked. That video was widely fact-checked, including by conservative media, on — on what had — what happened that — what occurred,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said about the clip of the president at the G7, which the New York Post twitter account cropped, as it appears they usually do. Title: Trump Leads Biden by Double Digits Among New York Independents, Poll Finds

In a surprising twist for the traditionally blue state of New York, former President Donald Trump has surged ahead of President Joe Biden among independent voters by double digits, according to the latest Siena College survey. This development underscores a shifting political landscape as the 2024 election approaches.

The Siena College survey, conducted from June 12-17, 2024, among 805 registered voters, reveals Biden struggling with a net negative approval rating. Only 42 percent of New Yorkers favor Biden, while a majority of 53 percent view him unfavorably, yielding a net negative rating of -11 percent. This marks a notable decline from May, when Biden’s net unfavorable rating was -5 percent, with 45 percent viewing him favorably against 50 percent unfavorably.

“His job approval rating fell to 45-53%, down slightly from 46-51% last month,” the Siena College report stated. Former President Trump’s favorability rating also took a hit, dropping to 37-59% from 39-56% in May.

Despite Biden leading Trump overall in New York by eight percentage points (47 percent to Trump’s 39 percent), this margin has been shrinking steadily over recent months. In May, Biden led by nine points, and in April, by ten points.

However, the most striking revelation from the survey is Trump’s substantial lead among independents. Trump holds a 17-point advantage over Biden among this crucial voter group, with 45 percent of independents supporting Trump compared to 28 percent backing Biden.

Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg noted the significance of these findings: “While Biden maintains the support of three-quarters of Democrats, Trump has support from 85% of Republicans and leads Biden 45-28 percent with independents.”

The poll also highlights a pronounced gender gap, with men favoring Trump 46-42 percent and women supporting Biden 51-33 percent. White voters are evenly split, while Biden holds a commanding lead among non-white voters. Despite this, Trump has made notable inroads, garnering support from 29 percent of Black voters and 26 percent of Latino voters.

This poll follows Trump’s recent high-profile rallies, including one in neighboring New Jersey that drew over 100,000 attendees, and another historic event in the Bronx. At the Bronx rally, enthusiastic chants of “We love Trump!” and “Four more years!” resonated, signaling potential trouble for Democrats in the upcoming election.
