President Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly worried that the conflict in the Middle East may escalate and result in American troops being killed by Iranian proxies, according to The New York Times (NYT).

As the Iranian-backed Houthis continue to attack U.S. interests and commercial ships within the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, the Biden administration continues to weigh how it should respond, according to the NYT. The administration has reportedly struggled to strike a balance in its response, not wanting to cause the conflict to escalate into a war but privately, officials think “they may have no choice” if American troops die, the outlet reported.

“The administration confronts a problem without a risk-free solution,” Aaron David Miller, a former Middle East peace negotiator, told the outlet. “They don’t want to strike Iran directly for fear of escalation, which only widens the margin for pro-Iranian groups, including the Houthis, to strike at U.S. forces. At some point, if U.S. forces are killed, they’ll have no alternative but to respond directly against Iranian assets.”

The Biden administration has launched a series of retaliatory strikes on the Houthis in response to their continued attacks on U.S. interests in the Red Sea. Despite the Biden administration’s strikes, the Houthis have continued to retaliate.

Shortly after the Biden administration ordered strikes on the Houthis for the first time, the administration moved to put the group back on the foreign terrorist list. Former President Donald Trump’s administration marked the Houthis as terrorists in Jan. 2021, but after coming into office, Biden reversed the decision in Feb. 2021. Report: Biden Robocall Urges Voters to Skip New Hampshire Primary

A robocall, allegedly featuring President Joe Biden’s voice, has surfaced, instructing recipients not to participate in the upcoming New Hampshire presidential primary, according to NBC News. With the primary just around the corner on Tuesday, a prominent New Hampshire Democrat is reportedly preparing to file a complaint with the state attorney general in response to the misleading calls.

The robocall delivers a message that begins with the phrase, “What a bunch of malarkey,” before advising the listener to withhold their vote until November. The call asserts that voting in the upcoming primary would only serve the Republicans in their effort to reelect Donald Trump.

The phone number shared in the call directs individuals to contact Kathy Sullivan, the leader of a super PAC advocating for New Hampshire residents to write in Biden’s name during the primary. Several people reportedly alerted Sullivan to the robocalls on Sunday, but it remains unclear which demographic received the misleading messages.

While the responsible party for the calls is yet to be identified, Sullivan has asserted, “It’s obviously somebody who wants to hurt Joe Biden.”

President Biden himself has acknowledged the risks associated with such manipulations, signing an executive order on Artificial Intelligence in October. He has also expressed concerns about deepfakes, emphasizing the potential for fabricated content to misrepresent individuals. In this context, Biden remarked, “I’ve watched one of me. I said, ‘When the hell did I say that?'”

As the New Hampshire primary approaches, political figures weigh in on the significance of the race. Governor Doug Burgum, a former 2024 presidential candidate and supporter of former President Donald Trump, suggested that the Republican nomination should be decided after New Hampshire.

‘Catholic’ Biden Marks Roe Anniversary by Pledging to Fight for ’Right’ to Kill Unborn

Self-professed Catholic President Joe Biden marked the fifty-first anniversary of the Supreme Court’s now-defunct 1973 Roe v. Wade decision by pledging to fight for the supposed “right” to kill unborn babies via abortion.

In a statement released on Monday, Biden took the opportunity to mourn the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe’s invention of the constitutional “right” to abortion and sent the issue back to individual states. He also painted Republicans as “dangerous” and “extreme” for passing laws banning or restricting abortions and accused them of putting “lives…at risk”:

Fifty-one years ago today, the Supreme Court recognized a woman’s constitutional right to make deeply personal decisions with her doctor—free from the interference of politicians. Then, a year and a half ago, the Court made the extreme decision to overturn Roe and take away a constitutional right.

“As a result, tens of millions of women now live in states with extreme and dangerous abortion bans. Because of Republican elected officials, women’s health and lives are at risk,” Biden claimed, not acknowledging the tens of millions of unborn lives lost to abortion. “In states across the country, women are being turned away from emergency rooms, forced to go to court to seek permission for the medical attention they need, and made to travel hundreds of miles for health care.”

Biden continued, pointing to pro-life losses since Dobbs via abortion-related ballot measures in states like Ohio and Michigan as evidence that Americans overwhelmingly demand the “right” to kill the unborn. Activists in several other states are notably working to put abortion amendments on the ballot in 2024 after a string of state-level pro-abortion victories. Biden’s U.S. Border Crisis Is Now Deadly Enough to Kill Every American

Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans between 18 and 45.

The 12 months ending in April 2023 saw more than 111,355 overdose deaths among Americans — even higher than the already record-breaking 110,394 the year before.

At an average of 22 deaths per week, the death rate for teen drug ODs in 2022 more than doubled the rate in 2018, another grim figure driven by the synthetic opioid.

Man Stabbed in Neck During Randall’s Island Migrant Shelter Melee; 18 in Custody but Suspect on the Loose

By New York Post. A wild melee at the troubled Randall’s Island migrant shelter Thursday left an [illegal alien] stabbed in the neck and 18 people in custody — with cops still hunting for the knife-wielding suspect, law-enforcement sources say.

A brawl broke out at the troubled shelter around 3:30 p.m. between two groups, who started fighting inside the shelter but then took it outside — armed with knives and throwing rocks at each other, sources said.

A 24-year-old man was stabbed during violent chaos, sources said.

He was taken by EMTs to Harlem Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

A 911 caller initially indicated to cops that a security guard stabbed the victim, but police sources later said it appeared that was not the case and that the assailant was still at large. Hunter Biden to Sit for Closed-Door Deposition, Along with 5 Associates

Hunter Biden will sit for a closed-door interview on February 28, along with five Biden family associates at various dates, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced Thursday.

The announcement came as a surprise to some Republicans. Last week, the chairmen went through procedural hurdles to prepare for a House vote to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress for failing to sit for the deposition.

Hunter proposed last week to sit for the deposition if Congress reissued a subpoena, arguing the prior subpoenas “are legally invalid” because the impeachment inquiry “did not yet exist when the subpoenas were issued.”

The Republican chairmen initially accepted the offer but warned the House would move forward with contempt proceedings for this week.

The chairmen deemed Hunter’s offer to be another delay tactic. Hunter’s offer also appeared to be a public relations ploy to provide Attorney General Merrick Garland with a reason not to prosecute him upon a successful contempt vote. In a recent interview with Fox News, Charlamagne Tha God, host of The Breakfast Club, raised doubts about the viability of the Biden/Harris ticket for the upcoming presidential election. This comes in response to First Lady Jill Biden’s assertion that President Joe Biden has the “energy” and “vigor” to serve another term in office.

Charlamagne expressed skepticism, laughing at the idea and stating, “That’s really the conversation — is Joe Biden and Kamala Harris still a winnable ticket? I think Republicans should be asking themselves that, too. Is Donald Trump still a winnable ticket?”

While acknowledging current polls indicating Trump’s lead over Biden in a general election, Charlamagne remained uncertain, saying, “I don’t know. I really, truly don’t know. So to answer your question, uh, no. He doesn’t look full of vigor like his wife says. Not to me, anyway.”

The radio host, who previously endorsed Biden in 2020 but now expresses regret for the endorsement, emphasized that he won’t be endorsing any candidate in the 2024 election. Poll: Donald Trump Dominates Joe Biden in Georgia

Former President Donald Trump has taken the lead over President Joe Biden in Georgia, the latest AJC poll found.

The survey showed Trump, the runaway frontrunner in the Republican primary race, leading the incumbent in the Peach State by eight percentage points — 45 percent to Biden’s 37 percent support.

Another seven percent said they supported an “other candidate,” six percent said they “will not vote,” and six percent said they “don’t know.”

What is more is Trump’s dominance among independent voters in Georgia, leading Biden by double digits — 54 percent to 37 percent.

Further, the AJC poll found that black voters, “the party’s most loyal constituency, are split” over Biden’s job performance. Overall, 62 percent of registered voters disapproved of Biden’s job performance:

Fact-Check: Did White House Lie on MLK Day Tweet Claiming Biden ‘Handpicked’ Bust?

President Joe Biden’s administration found itself under scrutiny on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a White House tweet claimed that Biden had “handpicked” a bust of the civil rights leader for the Oval Office. However, a closer look reveals a factual misstep in the attempt to connect Biden to the symbolic gesture.

The social media post from the White House declared, “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s bust sits inside the Oval Office — handpicked by President Biden — as a reflection of President Biden’s promise to America: to restore the soul of America, to rebuild this country from the bottom up and the middle out, and to unite it.”

The assertion, however, faces a significant flaw. Contrary to the claim, Biden did not handpick the MLK bust for the Oval Office. As reported at the beginning of Biden’s term by the Washington Post, busts of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy flanked a fireplace in the Oval Office. The MLK bust first arrived during President Barack Obama’s tenure, and President Donald Trump retained it, albeit in a different area of the room.

Therefore, the claim that Biden personally selected the MLK bust is inaccurate. The only credit Biden can truthfully receive is deciding to relocate the bust after removing a Winston Churchill bust that had been displayed by the George W. Bush and Trump administrations.

This isn’t the first time the MLK bust has been at the center of misinformation. In 2017, a false narrative emerged, suggesting that Trump had removed the MLK bust after his inauguration, leading to a fact-checking debacle that discredited the claim.

The recent misstep adds to Biden’s history of factual inaccuracies and embellishments.

Biden and his allies are touting that the president’s campaign raised $97 million in the last three months of 2023, and that it had $117 million on hand at the end of that period. The Trump campaign, meanwhile, raised $154 million and had $195 million in the bank at the same point in the 2020 election cycle, The New York Times reported.

The disparity between Trump’s and Biden’s campaigns is heightened when considering inflation. A dollar is worth 20% less now than it was in January 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Price Index calculator.

Polling has suggested that Americans are not satisfied with the president’s handling of inflation.

A December 2023 Monmouth University poll found that only 28% of Americans approved of Biden’s handling of inflation, and just 34% of those surveyed approved of the president’s overall job performance, an all-time low.
