No, Gun Violence Isn’t the Leading Cause of Death among Children

I recently wrote about an extraordinarily misleading Kaiser Family study that claimed “1 in 5” Americans have a family member who has been killed by a gun. Kaiser’s inflated findings were based on a small sample size of self-reported answers to questions that offered no useful limiting parameters.

In many ways, another endlessly repeated contention of gun controllers suffers from the same problem: Gun violence is the number one cause of death of children in America. Virtually every media outlet and Democrat repeats this contention — including, recently, the vice president. The claim is meant to conjure up distressing images of frolicking kids in parks and schools being gunned down by assault weapons. . .

We don’t really know which study Harris based her comments on, if any. And different sources come to different conclusions. None of them, however, are grounded in our familiar understanding of “children.” These studies count adults who are 18 and 19, and sometimes up to 25, years of age. Americans under 18 can’t purchase guns legally. That age seems, at the very least, the most obvious divide between adults and children. Because when you take 18- and 19-year-old adults out of the equation, the number of gun-related deaths among kids plummets considerably.

According to the CDC, the number one killer of children between 1-14 are accidents — vehicular, suffocation, and drowning. Twice as many kids under 12 died in cars than from guns. Also, if these studies began at birth rather than starting at one, the leading killer of all children would be diseases and genetic abnormalities. Surely a one-year-old is as much a “kid” as a 19-year-old. (And if you begin at fetal viability, by far the leading killer of young people would be late-term abortions — more than 8,000 viable unborn, and probably more than 50,000 performed after 15 weeks.) Kamala Harris Meeting With Expelled Dem Lawmakers in Tennessee

Vice President Kamala Harris is planning to stop in Nashville, Tennessee, to meet with two Democratic state lawmakers expelled from the Republican-controlled General Assembly after participating in a gun-control protest in the chamber.

The vice president’s trip on Friday follows the chamber’s vote on Thursday to expel Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, a move that drew swift condemnation from President Biden and Democrats nationwide.

The White House said in addition to meeting with state lawmakers, Ms. Harris will also meet with young people and advocates who are demanding action to address gun violence in the wake of the Covenant School shooting, in which a transgender person killed three 9-year-olds and three adults.

“While in Tennessee, the Vice President will make clear what happened in Nashville, continue to call on Congress to renew the assault weapons ban and ensure that in Tennessee and across the nation, the voices of our young people are heard,” a White House official said.

The Tennessee House voted to expel the two Democratic lawmakers Thursday for rule violations, but failed to oust a third. (Read more from “Kamala Harris Meeting With Expelled Dem Lawmakers in Tennessee” HERE)

Kamala Harris Get Booed at Basketball Game, Give Stupid Speech Afterwards

Vice President Kamala Harris was showered with boos while attending an NCAA Tournament game Thursday. Her alma mater Howard University was blown out in a first-round game of March Madness.

When the veep was shown on the video board during the men’s basketball game, the boos were louder than the applause inside Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, the Associated Press reported. . .

Harris, who watched the game in a suite with her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, visited Howard’s locker room after the loss to commend the players on their effort and impressive season.

Kamala Confusion: Veep Has Trouble Defining Own Job! (VIDEO)

Battling persistently low approval ratings across party lines, Vice President Kamala Harris (D) appeared Wednesday on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the latest attempt to burnish her public image. But Harris stumbled badly when she seemed either unable or unwilling to define the vice president’s job.

During the awkward exchange, host Stephen Colbert asked Harris to explain “what is the actual role on a daily basis” of the vice president.

Harris avoided answering the question by praising President Joe Biden (D). “Well, I have the great privilege of serving with Joe Biden, who is president of the United States,” she said to thunderous applause from the studio audience.”Right! Right! Exactly right. Exactly right.”

She added: “And was vice president.” . . .

Despite another round of enthusiastic audience applause, Colbert didn’t let Harris off the hook: “That’s an excellent answer. And the question was, what is the job of the vice president?”

WATCH: ‘The View’ Inadvertently Reveals the Biggest Problem With Kamala Harris in Wild Segment

As I’ve said before, if one wanted to draw up the perfect portrait of what the rabid pits of the Democratic fever swamps actually look like, all they would need to do would be to watch one of any number of mind-numbing episodes of “The View,” where self-loathing wokesters and acceptance-seeking Never Trumpers open their mouths on a daily basis and let the inevitable ignorance, stupidity, and hate-filled intolerance for differing viewpoints spew forth.

Monday was little different from all the rest, but there was one key difference, most notably, how they inadvertently revealed to their left-wing audience what the biggest problem with Vice President Kamala Harris is.

It all started once the co-hosts began discussing Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s eyebrow-raising comments about Harris from January where Warren would not explicitly endorse her as Joe Biden’s running mate in 2024.

“I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team,” Warren said at the time. “But they need — they have to be a team, and my sense is they are — I don’t mean that by suggesting I think there are any problems. I think they are.”

Since that time, Warren has reportedly attempted to smooth things over with the veep – but hasn’t had any luck in getting her to return her calls, according to a Sunday story from CNN. Kamala Harris Poses Next to Masked-up Little Girl for Photo-Op

Vice President Kamala Harris posed next to a masked-up little girl in a photo shared to social media in which she offered a message to “Black women and girls everywhere.”

“My message to Black women and girls everywhere: Never ask for permission to lead,” Harris said on Sunday, sharing an image of herself bending down and holding the hand of a little black girl who was wearing a mask covering half her face. Harris is not wearing a mask in the image:

The photo is one reminiscent of the days of Democrat politicians posing with masked-up children for photo ops throughout the pandemic, all while forgoing a mask themselves. Yet, many of these same politicians continued to push universal masking on others, including children.

Perhaps most famous is the image of twice-failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who appeared maskless, smiling gleefully, while surrounded by dozens of masked children at an elementary school in February 2022.

At the time, City Schools of Decatur stated on its website that all students and employees must wear masks in the buildings. Yet, Abrams broke the rule, at least temporarily, during that specific photo:

U.S. Trying to ‘Demonize Moscow’ With Ukraine Accusations: Russia

Vice President Harris’ declaration that Russia is committing crimes against humanity is an “attempt to demonize Moscow,” Russia’s ambassador to the US said Sunday — as he blamed America for “fueling” the nearly yearlong crisis.

“We consider such insinuations as an attempt, unprecedented in terms of its cynicism, to demonize Russia in the course of a hybrid war, unleashed against us,” Anatoly Antonov said in a statement posted on the social messaging platform Telegram.

“There is no doubt that the purpose of such attacks is to justify Washington’s own actions to fuel the Ukrainian crisis,” he continued, blasting the US for providing an array of weapons to Ukraine in its defense against Russian forces.

Harris at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday accused Russia of carrying out “widespread and systematic” attacks on civilians in the year since President Putin launched the invasion into neighboring Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022. This One NY Times Quote on Kamala Harris Will Blow Your Mind

OK, look: We’ve written this story before. But this one quote is just too great to let pass.

Vice President Kamala Harris is embattled, with Democrats openly talking about how they hope President Joe Biden will drop her in 2024 and how she can never win the White House.

So three reporters at The New York Times this week penned a piece headlined “Kamala Harris Is Trying to Define Her Vice Presidency. Even Her Allies Are Tired of Waiting.”

The piece rambles on and on — more than 2,200 words — and of course concludes Harris is pretty darn good, with the last line quoting a supporter saying, “It’s better to let Kamala be Kamala.” . . .

“[T]he painful reality for Ms. Harris is that in private conversations over the last few months, dozens of Democrats in the White House, on Capitol Hill and around the nation — including some who helped put her on the party’s 2020 ticket — said she had not risen to the challenge of proving herself as a future leader of the party, much less the country. Even some Democrats whom her own advisers referred reporters to for supportive quotes confided privately that they had lost hope in her.” (Read more from “This One NY Times Quote on Kamala Harris Will Blow Your Mind” HERE)

Why Is Kamala So Silent Regarding President Biden’s Document Scandal?

Vice President Kamala Harris has been eerily quiet about President Joe Biden’s classified document scandal, causing at least some Republicans to believe Harris could be angling to push Biden out of the way for a shot at the Oval Office.

Though Harris has delivered several public statements since the scandal was leaked to the press on January 9, she has neither supported Biden nor condemned any wrongdoing. Her public comments during this timeframe have largely remained on script, ranging from global warming, Venn diagrams, electricity, school buses, and the southern border invasion.

The communications strategy appears noticeably different from her attacks on former President Donald Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified materials. In August, Harris slammed Trump as “irresponsible” for questioning the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago.

“It’s just highly irresponsible of anyone who calls themselves a leader and certainly anyone who represents the United States of America to engage in rhetoric for the sake of some political objective that can result in harm to law enforcement officers and agents,” Harris said.

Former Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), the onetime chair of the House Intelligence Committee from 2015 to 2019 and now the CEO of Trump’s Truth Social social media platform, told Breitbart News that Harris’ silence suggests her intention to replace Biden as president. Pathetic: Kamala Harris Omits Declaration of Independence’s Right to ‘Life’ in Address on Abortion

Vice President Kamala Harris omitted the right to “life” when quoting from the Declaration of Independence during her pro-abortion remarks on the 50th anniversary of the now-overturned Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case.

Harris spoke in Tallahassee, Florida, on the 50th anniversary of Roe, the landmark abortion case that the U.S. Supreme Court overturned last summer.

“We are here today because we collectively believe and know, America is a promise – it is a promise of freedom and liberty,” Harris said before quoting from the Declaration, which declares that the rights to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” are natural rights.

However, Harris conveniently omitted “life” as she quoted from one of the most important documents in American history.

“Not for some, but for all,” Harris continued. “A promise that we made in the Declaration of Independence that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
