GOP Senator Mocks Kamala Harris, Saying Her ‘GPS Got Confused’

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz joined New Hampshire Republicans in slamming Vice President Kamala Harris for visiting the Granite State before traveling to the southern border.

“GPS got confused….” the Texas Republican wrote on Twitter of news that Harris was traveling to the northern border state.

“Montreal is going to invade,” Cruz added in a separate tweet.

Both Cruz and Harris have some history in Canada. Cruz, 50, was born in Calgary, where his parents lived before moving to Texas when he was a young child. Recently, the Biden administration decided to waive the fines lobbed at noncitizens who have refused to leave. Yet, there seems to be another eye-opening move at the border. Vice President Kamala Harris might not be there, but her children’s book is there (via NY Post):

Vice President Kamala Harris hasn’t been to the border to address a crisis she was tasked to help fix — but a children’s book she wrote is waiting there for young migrants who are being welcomed into the country.

Unaccompanied migrant kids brought from the U.S.-Mexico border to a new shelter in Long Beach, Calif., will be given a copy of her 2019 children’s book, “Superheroes are Everywhere,” in their welcome kits.

It’s just the latest open-arms gesture by the Biden administration, whose mixed messaging regarding the border and immigration has been credited with the surge from Central America to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Border czar Roberta Jacobson last month conceded that the Biden administration’s messaging to migrants has been inconsistent, contributing to the unprecedented surge.

Kamala Calls for an Assault Weapons Ban

On Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris on CNN’s “State of the Union” called on lawmakers to pass an “assault weapons ban.”

Anchor Dana Bash said, “More broadly, there have been at least 50 mass shootings in America in a little over a month. Your administration has made clear that infrastructure is the next big legislative priority. Why not guns? Anthony Fauci told me over the weekend that gun violence is a public health emergency.” . . .

She added, “We should have background checks. That’s just reasonable gun safety laws. We should have an assault weapons ban. Assault weapons have been designed to kill a lot of people quickly. They are weapons of war, and Congress has to account, Dana. I mean, you know, I was recently in Connecticut. Senators Murphy and Blumenthal and the governor there, so many people, the families of Sandy Hook. You know, I honestly thought that when those babies, 26 seven-year-old children, were slaughtered, I thought Congress would act. Kamala Harris: Americans Are Sleeping Better Due to Joe Biden’s ‘Help’

Vice President Kamala Harris said Americans are “able to breath easier and sleep better” due to President Joe Biden’s “help,” during a speech in North Carolina on Monday.

Harris, speaking to advance President Joe Biden’s $2.25 trillion infrastructure proposal at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, promoted the Biden administration’s “help” that she believes is “delivering real, real relief.”

“Help is here. Help is here,” she reiterated.

“And hope is here and things are looking up. Schools are reopening. Businesses are reopening. Grandparents are seeing their grandchildren in person,” she praised.

“We are delivering real, real relief and the American people are now able to breathe easier and sleep better. And we are not done. The president and I are ready to keep going and we are not going to take it slow. And we are not going to take it one step at a time,” Harris said with a caveat. This week the White House officially announced Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Mexico and Guatemala, three weeks after President Joe Biden put her in charge of “diplomatic efforts” to get the border crisis under control. . .

Hilarious: Republicans Report Harris ‘Missing At The Border,’ Put Face On Milk Carton

House Republicans slammed Vice President Kamala Harris’ failure to visit the southern border since being tapped to play a key role in the migrant crisis, putting her face on a milk carton to demonstrate that she has been missing.

House Minority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., stressed the need for Harris to go to the border to observe for herself the consequences of the Biden administration’s policies, such as the overcrowding of unaccompanied migrant children in federal facilities.

Pelosi, Kamala Sued for Banning Annual Prayer Event at Capitol

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Kamala Harris have been named defendants in a lawsuit that accuses them of unconstitutionally banning a prayer vigil held annually at the Capitol.

The action in U.S. District Court in Washington was filed Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney.

He wants to hold a Good Friday prayer vigil, as he has in previous years, on the Lower Western Terrace of the Capitol.

However, he is being prevented by a “no-speech zone” that the defendants have established.

According to the complaint: “Plaintiff’s application for a permit to hold a Good Friday prayer vigil is in the exact same location where he held his Good Friday prayer vigil in 2020. In 2020, plaintiff worked with Capitol Police to ensure that he was able to safely hold a prayer vigil on Capitol grounds even though COVID-19 was constraining the nation. The sidewalks and other public grounds appurtenant to and surrounding the United States Capitol, traditional public forums, are currently fenced off to the public and have been since January 6, 2021. VP Harris Has No Immigration Meetings Scheduled Despite Leading Crisis Response; Illegal Alien Children to Be Housed on Military Bases

By New York Post. Vice President Kamala Harris avoided media over the weekend and has no immigration-related meetings on her public schedule Monday, as the situation at the border continues to deteriorate.

Harris, who was tapped by President Biden to handle the migrant crisis last Wednesday, made no media appearances on any of the highly watched weekend news talk shows — even as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle made the rounds following their respective visits to the border.

The vice president also has no immigration meetings or public events scheduled Monday, according to her diary released by the Office of the Vice President.

The lack of response comes as the Biden administration’s undoing of former President Donald Trump’s border policies has prompted a flood of Central American and Mexican illegal migrants at the US border, including thousands of unescorted children. DOD and HHS Mum on How Many Migrant Children They Will House on Military Bases

By Washington Examiner. The Pentagon and Department of Health and Human Services continue to conceal just how many unaccompanied migrant children will be housed at military bases across the United States.

As migrants have surged across the border in the opening months of the Biden administration, Customs and Border Protection temporary facilities have become overwhelmed, and migrant children are being transferred to alternate facilities. In past border surges during the Obama and Trump administrations, tens of thousands of migrant children were housed at military bases. Today, the DOD and HHS refuse to disclose the number of accommodations they are preparing for unaccompanied migrant children.

“I’m not going to speak to the numbers,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told the Washington Examiner at a Monday press briefing. . .

HHS again declined Monday to respond to an inquiry by the Washington Examiner for the total number of migrants it is planning to house at military bases. . .

Facilities include the two military installations announced by the DOD last week, soft-sided buildings being constructed at Fort Bliss, and 350 beds in a vacant dormitory at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. President Kamala? Veep Bucks Biden Order To Enforce Border Control

Vice President Kamala Harris is dodging a Wednesday request by President Joe Biden to bolster the enforcement of migration laws in Mexico and Latin American countries.

On March 24, in a televised statement, Biden directed Harris to get the Mexican and Central American governments to forcibly block poor migrants moving towards the United States. Biden said: “The Vice President … agreed to lead our diplomatic effort and work with those nations to accept returnees and enhance migration enforcement at their borders — at their borders.” [emphasis added] . . .

On Friday, Symone Sanders, Harris’s press secretary, redefined the request.

“The president asked the vice president to take on the diplomatic effort, with Mexico and countries in the northern triangle to address the root causes of migration,” she said. “There are many reasons that move these folks to make this dangerous journey.”

“This is an amazing dismissal by a vice president of her president in a very public fashion,” said Ken Cuccinelli, who served as deputy homeland security chief under President Donald Trump. “I cannot ever remember seeing this happen before.” (Read more from “President Kamala? LIAR, LIAR: Harris Claims No One Is Taking Away Guns While Dems Gear Up To Do Just That; 9th Circuit Rules: No Constitutional Right to Open Carry

By The Federalist. Vice President Kamala Harris said no one is “trying to come after your guns” as President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats prepare to do exactly that. . .

Harris’s comments come as Biden and his allies in Congress are calling for a federal ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, restricting gun access for even law-abiding citizens after multiple deadly shootings in the last two weeks.

“We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again,” Biden said shortly after the shooting in Boulder, Colorado. “I got that done when I was a senator. It passed. It was the law for the longest time. And it brought down these mass killings. We should do it again.”

Biden also urged legislators to pass bills expanding a background check system for firearm sales, a change that some senators on the left side of the aisle think could garner enough Republican support to bypass the filibuster, which multiple members are trying to abolish. Carrying Guns in Public Is Not a Constitutional Right, Ninth Circuit Rules

By Court House News. Americans have no right to carry guns in public, a divided en banc Ninth Circuit panel ruled Wednesday, reversing a prior Ninth Circuit decision that struck down a Hawaii firearm restriction as unconstitutional.

“There is no right to carry arms openly in public; nor is any such right within the scope of the Second Amendment,” U.S. Circuit Judge Jay Bybee, a George W. Bush appointee, wrote for the majority of an 11-judge panel in a 127-page opinion. . .

Plaintiff George Young sued Hawaii in 2012 for denying his applications for permits to carry a concealed or openly visible handgun. A Hawaii state law requires a license to carry a gun in public.

Under a Hawaii County regulation, the police chief may only grant such licenses to those who need a gun for their job or who show “reason to fear injury” to their “person or property.” No one other than a security guard has ever obtained an open-carry license in Hawaii, lawyers for the county acknowledged during a Ninth Circuit hearing in 2018.
