Kristi Noem Says DHS Found ‘Leakers,’ Details How Agency Caught ‘Sell-Out’ Bureaucrats

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Monday evening on Fox News that her agency has identified some of the “leakers” responsible for releasing internal information.

On Feb. 10, Noem suggested that “corrupt” FBI agents were behind a leaked memo about an upcoming “large-scale” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in the Los Angeles area, which was obtained by the Los Angeles Times. With border czar Tom Homan echoing the secretary’s suspicions a day later, Noem said on “Hannity” that “some” of the internal leakers had been caught, but she did not specify which agency they belonged to or how many there were.

“I have found some leakers. We are continuing to get more. They will be fired. There will be consequences. And, remember, when they leak information to the press in order to blow an op, they are putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy,” Noem said. “They are risking their lives and putting their families in the position where they have to live without those individuals any further.”

“We have used every tactic that we have. If you remember, we talked just last week about how I’m using polygraphs to go after and to really interview these folks because we are a national security agency. I have that tool I can use. Also looking at their emails, looking at their communications,” Noem added. “It’s amazing how these bureaucrats who have an agenda to stop the work that we’re doing to bring safety to America, how they will sell each other down the river if it’s just to protect themselves. So don’t worry. I am doing everything to find these leakers and to get rid of them so that we can do our work and our law enforcement officers and agents can do it safely.” (Read more from “Kristi Noem Says DHS Found ‘Leakers,’ Details How Agency Caught ‘Sell-Out’ Bureaucrats” HERE)

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem Gets in Fiery Exchange With CNN Host Over Elon Musk, DOGE: ‘Can’t Trust Our Government’

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem clashed with a CNN host over trust in government despite being a federal official while defending tech mogul Elon Musk’s access to sensitive data.

CNN moderator Dana Bash goaded Noem Sunday by noting how Republicans were once wary about “government, particularly unelected people, having access to personal data.”

“Well, we can’t trust our government anymore,” Noem replied.

That prompted the CNN host to remind her that “you are the government now.”

“Yes, that’s what I’m saying, is that the American people now are saying that we have had our personal information shared and out there in the public,” Noem shot back. ‘Coward Who Back-Stabs Her Own Party’: Conservative Outlet Turns on Trump’s DHS Pick

The conservative news publication The Federalist slammed South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem with a blistering takedown Tuesday that referred to her as a “coward” who was underserving to lead the Department of Homeland Security.

“While Noem is certainly skilled at promoting herself, she doesn’t have the courage required for this role,” Joy Pullmann, an executive editor at The Federalist, wrote in an editorial after news spread that President-elect Donald Trump selected Noem, who famously shot her pet dog to death, for the cabinet position.

In her brutal rebuke, Pullman took issue with several actions Noem took as governor and concluded her “track record is not the behavior of a leader serious enough” to head the agency. The publication referenced Noem’s decisions in favor of state lobbyists involving a “corrupt health-industrial complex,” which Pullman criticized the Trump loyalist for supporting.

“And when she was called out on this by the likes of Tucker Carlson, Noem’s defense was that she’s scared to engage in lawsuits on behalf of Americans’ obvious best interests,” Pullman wrote. “It should go without saying that anyone who is scared of lawsuits should not be part of the Trump administration, especially anyone involved in combatting illegal immigration.”

She continued: “Noem has an undeserved reputation for courage because she was the only governor not to shut down her state in the name of Covid. But that reputation is completely undeserved. The truth is, she attempted to get the power to shut down South Dakota, but the state Legislature refused to give it to her.” (Read more from “‘Coward Who Back-Stabs Her Own Party’: Conservative Outlet Turns on Trump’s DHS Pick” HERE)

Trump Selects Kristi Noem to Head Department of Homeland Security

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to select South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to fill the role of Homeland Security secretary, multiple sources confirm to Fox News Digital.

Noem, who was thought to be a potential running mate on the Trump ticket earlier in the year, has served as governor of the Mount Rushmore State since 2019.

The Department of Homeland Security oversees U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Secret Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

If selected, Noem would work with Tom Homan, who was announced as Trump’s “border czar” on Sunday, and Stephen Miller, who was announced as the White House deputy of staff for policy on Monday.

Noem, along with Homan and Miller, has long been a supporter of Trump’s hardline stance on immigration and border security. (Read more from “Trump Selects Kristi Noem to Head Department of Homeland Security” HERE)

Noem Defends Decision to Kill Dog, Saying She ‘Was Being a Responsible Parent, Dog Owner, and Neighbor’

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has defended her decision to kill a young dog many years ago.

The Guardian reported that in her forthcoming book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” Noem recounted the story about the dog, Cricket, that had been around 14 months old.

According to the outlet, Noem recalled that she had taken the dog on a pheasant hunt with older canines, desiring to calm Cricket down and start to teach her how to act. But she was “out of her mind with excitement, chasing all those birds and having the time of her life.”

When Noem stopped to speak to a family after that hunt, the dog escaped from her truck and killed the family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another,” Noem recounted, according to the outlet. When she grabbed the canine, Cricket “whipped around to bite me,” she noted. Noem cut a check “for the price they asked, and helped them dispose of the carcasses littering the scene of the crime,” she reportedly indicated.

“I hated that dog,” Noem noted, according to the Guardian, which reported that she described the dog as “untrainable,” “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with,” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog.”

Kristi Noem Banished From 10% of State She Governs After Latest Expulsion

Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) has been banned from some 10% of South Dakota, the state she governs.

On Tuesday, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Council voted to ban Noem from areas under its control. Combined with bans from the Oglala Sioux Tribe in February and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe last week, the Republican governor is now banned from about one-tenth of the state, according to the Daily Beast.

The banishment came in response to remarks Noem made about the Native Americans of the state, accusing tribal leaders of not doing enough to expunge the influence of drug cartels.

“Governor Kristi Noem’s wild and irresponsible attempt to connect tribal leaders and parents with Mexican drug cartels is a sad reflection of her fear-based politics that do nothing to bring people together to solve problems,” SRST Chairwoman Janet Alkire said in a press release. “Rather than make uninformed and unsubstantiated claims, Noem should work with tribal leaders to increase funding and resources for tribal law enforcement and education.”

The director of the Lakota People’s Law Project, which says on its website that it “works closely with tribal nations and nonprofit compatriots to amplify Indigenous voices” and “provides on-the-ground support when and where it is needed most,” said Noem is “prohibited from entering sovereign territory of Sioux bands.” (Read more from “Kristi Noem Banished From 10% of State She Governs After Latest Expulsion” HERE)

Governor Won’t Let ‘Tragedy’ of Child Rape Dictate Abortion Access (VIDEO)

Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) held firm when pressed to consider a recent “tragedy” involving child rape while conversing about the hot-button issue of abortion access.

South Dakota is one of 13 states with a “trigger” law designed to go into effect once the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which came to fruition last month. The state’s ban, which was signed into law in 2005, prohibits all abortions except to save the life of the mother.

Focusing on there not being an exception for rape, CNN’s Dana Bash asked Noem on Sunday to “be clear” as to whether South Dakota would “force” the same 10-year-old girl who was recently denied an abortion in Ohio to have a baby.

After some back-and-forth, Noem stood by her state’s position. “I don’t believe a tragic situation should be perpetuated by another tragedy, and so there’s more that we’ve got to do to make sure that we really are living a life that says, ‘Every life is precious.’ Especially innocent lives that have been shattered like that 10-year-old girl,” she said.

Governor: Joe Biden ‘Rationing’ Life-Saving Coronavirus Medicine for ‘Political Reasons’

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) told Breitbart News exclusively that she believes President Joe Biden’s decision to withhold life-saving monoclonal antibody medicine from sick Americans with coronavirus nationwide including in her state constitutes “rationing” of the treatment. Noem said she believes Biden is doing this for “political reasons,” too, and that at least one major hospital system in South Dakota is struggling to get the medicine it needs to treat all its patients as a result of Biden’s administration withholding distribution of it.

“I’ve talked with all my health systems because I have several in the state about what their supply is,” Noem told Breitbart News here last week. “Some of them are doing okay, they feel like they have adequate supply as far as what their requests are and they haven’t felt a pinch. I do have one that is really struggling getting the supply that they want — they believe they’re being rationed. I think somewhere in the federal government, they’re stockpiling it — and they are delivering it out to states based on what their cases are, and based on what they think their scientific data is telling them that South Dakota should have. We’re going to continue to pressure to have the kind of medical treatments that we believe our people deserve. So, we’re not at a shortfall right now but we have noticed a difference in how the federal government is responding to us.”

Noem’s comments came during an interview for the latest On The Hill Breitbart News exclusive video series at Mount Rushmore National Memorial here in Keystone, South Dakota, just outside Rapid City. Noem spent two days with Breitbart News in South Dakota — one here at Mount Rushmore for this interview on Thursday last week, and then again Friday at Custer State Park at its annual Governor’s Buffalo Roundup for a second interview — where she focused on several pressing issues facing the state of South Dakota, the nation, and her standing in the conservative movement. How Kristi Noem’s Transgender Sports Veto Tapped Into the Spirit of Traitor Mike Pence

When South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem backpedaled on her support for a state bill banning transgender participation in women’s sports leagues, social conservatives denounced the rising Republican star as a traitor.

Noem on Friday partially vetoed the popular bill, warning state legislators that she feared retribution from the NCAA, which in the past has fought states on transgender issues. Noem previously had supported the bill enthusiastically, leading many of its proponents to excoriate her sudden hesitation as a bow to the state’s left-leaning Chamber of Commerce. . .

The transgender fiasco is Noem’s first since her leadership during the coronavirus pandemic catapulted her into the national spotlight. And it recalls the stumblings of another Republican star confronted with a crisis over social issues: Mike Pence. “It’s a familiar playbook,” said Ryan Anderson, president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, noting that both Noem and Pence backed off their principles when faced with hard choices related to sexual orientation and identity. . .

While governor of Indiana in 2015, Pence became embroiled in a fight that had both gay marriage proponents and social conservatives at his throat. The issue was the state’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which Pence signed with broad approval from Republicans. [Then later, while] considering a presidential run, [Pence] sign[ed] further legislation intended expressly to protect gay and transgender people from discrimination. But this move only angered religious conservatives, Pence’s base, who complained that the new legislation gutted the protections given to them in the original bill.
