GoFundMe Reverses Ban on Kyle Rittenhouse Fundraisers After Acquittal

GoFundMe is once again allowing fundraising for Kyle Rittenhouse’s legal fees after the platform removed his campaigns for violating its policy against aiding people accused of violent crimes.

The fundraising platform released a statement explaining that Rittenhouse’s acquittal of murder charges Friday permits him to use the platform to fundraise again as his situation no longer violates its terms and conditions against “raising money for the legal defense of an alleged violent crime.”

“Once charges for a violent crime were brought against Kyle Rittenhouse in 2020, GoFundMe removed fundraisers that were started for the defendant’s legal defense,” the company said in a statement. “We did this as part of our regular monitoring efforts; in addition to those fundraisers, our Trust & Safety team removed hundreds of other fundraisers between August and December 2020 — unrelated to Rittenhouse — that we determined were in violation of this long-standing policy.”

Powerful Democrat Demands Federal Intervention Over Kyle Rittenhouse Acquittal: ‘A Dangerous Precedent’

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) is demanding a “federal review” of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, claiming Friday the acquittal of the 18-year-old amounted to a “miscarriage of justice.” . . .

Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, called on the Department of Justice to intervene over the “heartbreaking verdict.”

Unfortunately, Nadler also repeated the media’s misleading narrative about Rittenhouse being armed and having crossed state lines.

Although interstate travel is completely legal, Rittenhouse did not cross from Illinois to Wisconsin while armed. In fact, Rittenhouse’s dad lives in Kenosha, and the AR-15 rifle that Rittenhouse was armed with never left Wisconsin. And, at any rate, Rittenhouse lives in Antioch, a town on the Illinois-Wisconsin border just 20 minutes south of Kenosha.

Joe Biden ‘Angry and Concerned’ About Rittenhouse Verdict, Calls for Protests; Verdict Breaks Hollywood: ‘I Weep for This Country’

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden reacted to the “not guilty” verdicts from the jury in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial on Friday.

“While the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge that the jury has spoken,” Biden said in a statement released by the White House.

The president said he would continue working to “heal our country’s wounds” until “every American is treated equally, with fairness and dignity.” He called for protests of the verdict to remain peaceful.

Kyle Rittenhouse Not Guilty Verdict Breaks Hollywood: ‘I Weep for This Country’

Left-wing Hollywood celebrities experienced a collective meltdown after a jury in Kenosha, Wisconsin, acquitted 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse of all charges on Friday. “I weep for this country,” one star lamented, while another claimed the verdict represented a victory for “white supremacy.”

Celebrities including Sophia Bush, Patton Oswalt, and Josh Gad took their cues from the establishment media by insisting on a racial angle to the verdict, even though all the parties in the case were white. Other celebrities simply vented their rage, like Alyssa Milano, who hurled expletives at her TV as the verdict was read.

“This is white supremacy in action,” Sophia Bush tweeted.

“So…the white guy goes free. Is that the message?” author Stephen King wrote. . .

In one bizarre instance, ABC’s Scandal star Kerry Washington paid tribute to the two men Rittenhouse shot and killed out of self-defense — Joseph Rosenbaum, a pedophile sex offender, and Anthony Huber, a habitual woman beater.

Black Rifle Coffee — Who Disavowed Rittenhouse — Silent After Not Guilty Verdict

Black Rifle Coffee was silent on all the company’s social media accounts after the bombshell verdict in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse came back “Not Guilty” on all five counts.

The veteran-founded coffee company had distanced itself from Rittenhouse after the teenager took a post-bail photo wearing a Black Rifle Coffee T-shirt and BlazeTV host Elijah Schaffer posted the photo along with the caption, “Kyle Rittenhouse drinks the best coffee in America.”

Schaffer, whose podcast was sponsored by Black Rifle Coffee, deleted his tweet, and a company spokeswoman said to the Salt Lake Tribune, “We did have a conversation with Schaffer, and he understands that the post was a mistake.”

The company’s CEO Evan Hafer also issued a statement disavowing any relationship with Rittenhouse that said, “We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI.”

Defense Attorney Reveals Kyle Rittenhouse’s Next Moves, Career Goal

Defense attorney Mark Richards revealed Friday that his client Kyle Rittenhouse, now acquitted of all charges, will likely have to leave his hometown due to the overwhelming number of threats he’s received.

“He has to get on with his life, the best he can,” Richards told reporters outside the courthouse. “I don’t think he’ll continue to live in this area, I think it’s too dangerous. He’s had 24-hour security since this happened. We’re thankful that the judge protected his address.”

“Everybody in this case — and when I say that, I mean prosecution and defense — to me, it’s scary how many death threats we’ve gotten,” the attorney added. Richards said he had to stop answering his phone after receiving numerous death threats in a row.

Protestors can be heard chanting “every city, every town, burn the precinct to the ground” in videos posted on Twitter. Rittenhouse was acquitted Friday on all five charges related to the death of Joseph Rosenbaum, Anthony Huber, and injuring Gaige Grosskreutz.

Major News Outlet Falsely Reports Rittenhouse Shot 3 Black Men

By Daily Caller. The Independent falsely claimed that Kyle Rittenhouse shot three black men after he was acquitted of all charges Friday for shooting three white men in self-defense during the August 2020 Kenosha, Wisconsin, riots.

“Full story: Teenager who shot three black men with rifle found not guilty on all charges,” the Independent wrote in a bullet point on the main page of its website Friday. The error was quickly corrected, although the outlet did not publicly acknowledge or apologize for the mistake.

The Independent then altered the page to correct the error, although the article linked to in the bullet did not include a correction note from the editor to acknowledge the mistake. The article’s SEO description still incorrectly stated that the three men who were shot were black as of Friday afternoon, but has since been updated. Experts Weigh In on Prosecution’s Failed Strategies in Kyle Rittenhouse Trial

Prosecutors in the Kyle Rittenhouse homicide trial presented an overly complex case, and might have had better success if they sought a lesser charge, legal experts told The Post Friday, in the aftermath of the teen’s acquittal. . .

Lou Shapiro, a state and federal criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles, said the prosecution “overshot” their case when they presented the argument that Rittenhouse “brought a gun to a fistfight.”

“They oversold the case because the prosecution was stuck on this theory that Rittenhouse was this guy out to kill,” Shapiro said. “If you can’t get that out of your mind as a prosecutor, you’re not gonna be able to offer lesser charges because that does not fit that narrative. They oversold and it backfired.” . . .

John Gross, an associate professor of law at the University of Wisconsin and the director of the Public Defender Project, said the decision not to slap Rittenhouse with the lesser charge of second-degree intentional homicide made this case an uphill battle from the start.

“Under Wisconsin law, when a defendant raises the issue of self-defense, the prosecution is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant did not act in self-defense,” Gross said. “Wisconsin has a mitigating circumstance called unnecessary defensive force, and that reduces first-degree intentional homicide to second-degree intentional homicide. PolitiFact Slammed for ‘Fact-Check’ on Rittenhouse Legally Owning Gun

PolitiFact has been slammed for a “fact-check” that claimed to readers that Kyle Rittenhouse’s possession of a firearm was illegal — after the judge presiding over his murder trial in Kenosha, Wisconsin, threw out the weapons charge against him.

Rittenhouse, 18, was initially charged with possession of a dangerous weapon as a minor, but the judge tossed it after the charge — and the site’s claim — didn’t hold up in court.

Judge Bruce Schroeder agreed with Rittenhouse’s lawyers that the ban on minors with dangerous weapons only applies to those weapons that are short-barreled, unlike the one that the teen used to fatally shoot two men and injure a third.

In the aftermath of the shooting, PolitiFact had challenged a claim made by a Facebook user who wrote, “Carrying a rifle across state lines is perfectly legal.”

Rittenhouse Defense Asks for Mistrial

Defense attorneys for Kyle Rittenhouse reportedly filed a seven-page motion for a mistrial Monday, alleging the prosecution provided poor quality drone footage of one of the key moments of the incident to the jury despite a higher-resolution video being available.

“The problem is, the prosecution gave the defense a compressed version of the video,” the motion reads, regarding footage. “What that means is the video provided to the defense was not as clear as the video kept by the state.”

“The video footage has been at the center of this case,” the motion reads, according to the Chicago Tribune. “The failure to provide the same quality footage in this particular case is intentional and clearly prejudices the defendant.”

By Breitbart. No verdict has been reached as of yet in the murder trial of 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, with Judge Bruce Schroeder retiring the jury on Tuesday night after 8.5 hours of deliberation.

Exactly why the jury has not yet settled on a unanimous decision remains unknown at this point. After the judge retired them for the night, they were ordered to avoid discussing the case with anyone and to return at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning to continue deliberations.

Protesters Clash Outside of Courthouse as Rittenhouse Trial Nears Close

By Daily Caller. Tensions are rising outside the Kenosha, Wisconsin, courthouse where jurors deliberate final verdicts in the case against Kyle Rittenhouse, with several protesters clashing with counter-protesters.

One man who brought his dog and a megaphone was caught on video appearing to chant “Black Lives Matter for pedophiles,” according to a video posted to Twitter by Rebecca Brannon. Joseph Rosenbaum, with whose death Kyle Rittenhouse is charged with, was a convicted pedophile.

As the unidentified individual chants, a pro-Black Lives Matter protester appears to smack the megaphone out of the man’s hand before retreating. The same counter-protest was seen in earlier videos chanting that Black Lives Matter is a terrorist organization.

Meanwhile, several “patriots counter protesters” showed up decked out in American-flag gear and have also clashed with Black Lives Matter protesters, according to Brannon’s video.
