It’s Not Enough She’s Marvel’s First Leading Female Superhero, Now SJWs Want Captain Marvel to Be Gay

Captain Marvel may be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest female star, but simply commanding her own movie and having no faults or weaknesses to speak of isn’t enough for the social justice warriors; Captain Marvel must also openly embrace the LGBT lifestyle.

Comic book and nerd culture site, CBR.com, has published an extensive dive into the subject on its website, suggesting that “revealing Captain Marvel as gay would be a winning move for Disney, and an important step forward for the MCU.”

The piece argues that the MCU should embrace “progressive storytelling” more fully after “Avengers: Endgame,” the conclusion to the “Infinity War” saga, and the end of the first generation of Marvel superhero films — and by “progressive storytelling,” it’s apparent they mean targeting specific quotas rather than genuine inclusiveness. Since Marvel already has successful minority superhero franchises (“Black Panther”) and a moderately successful female-led franchise (“Captain Marvel”), it’s simply time to check the next box.

“The Brie Larson-helmed film has opened the door for the studio to make an even bigger statement by presenting the new face of the MCU as a straight-up LGBT character,” CBR opines. “Why can’t the strongest Avenger out there, the one who’s leading the new era of Marvel movies, be gay?”

“The general audience has embraced the hero’s progressive style and what she stands for, inspiring girls and women globally,” they continue. “By making her queer, the studio would jump to the forefront of gay rights everywhere. Radical LGBT Equality Act to Be Introduced in U.S. House Next Week

As promised during the midterm congressional elections last fall, Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi has announced the impending introduction of sweeping pro-LGBT legislation long awaited by left-wing activists.

“Next week, [we] will be launching our Equality Act to end discrimination for the LGBTQ community and we will be launching our initiative to protect the DREAMers and temporary-protected status persons in our country,” the California Democrat announced Thursday, the pro-homosexual Washington Blade reports. “We said these things during the campaign, and we’re getting it done and we are telling the public about the paths that we are on to get them turned into law to make a difference in the lives of the American people.”

The so-called Equality Act would amend the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include “sex,” “sexual orientation,” and “gender identity” among expressly recognized “non-discrimination” categories in “public accommodations,” which would also be expanded to include many additional types of establishments including recreation, shopping, online retailers, healthcare services, and more.

It would also force anyone employing 15 or more people to recognize their claimed “gender identity,” forbid employers from “discriminating” based on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity,” and mandate transgender “access” to opposite-sex restrooms, locker rooms, and dressing rooms.

Conservatives have long warned that the legislation’s true purpose is not to protect homosexual or gender-confused Americans from tangible harm, but to force other Americans such as photographers, florists, and bakers to participate in same-sex “weddings”; and to force employers and businesses to accommodate cross-dressing, same-sex cohabitation, and sex-change treatments regardless of their own values or policies. United Methodist Church Reaffirms Teaching on Homosexuality

Despite internal pressure, the United Methodist Church (UMC) has resisted calls to reform its teachings on homosexuality.

According to Catholic News Agency (CNA), the UMC gathered over 800 ministers and lay leader delegates in St. Louis earlier this month at the Special Session of the General Conference of the UMC, where debates ensued over how the church will address pressing issues like homosexuality, same-sex unions, and active homosexuals serving in the clergy.

“The debate drew out different approaches to the authority of Scripture, marriage, and sexuality, but ultimately left the ecclesial community’s official teaching unchanged,” reports CNA.

The UMC’s decision to keep its tradition intact may cause a splinter, with more progressive groups splitting off to form their own denomination, similar to what has happened with the Lutheran and Presbyterian churches. The UMC is the largest mainline Protestant ecclesial community in the United States, comprising six million members. . .

“We will continue to welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and queer persons to our churches and affirm their sacred worth,” said Jones. “I pray we, as a denomination, can now move forward, working with each other in the spirit of Christian love and joining together as one. Gay Couple Demands New Law Forcing Christian Service to Prepare Their Taxes

. . .Bailey Brazzel has filed her taxes with Nancy Fivecoate, owner of Carter Tax Service, for the past four years. But to her dismay, Brazzel says was turned away this year after she told Fivecoate she would be filing jointly with her new wife, whom she married last summer, according to WRTV-TV.

Still, they remain upset over what happened, explaining to WRTV they believe they are victims of discrimination. They told the news station it is now their goal to ensure new laws are passed preventing discrimination against same-sex marriage couples in the future. . .

In a statement to WRTV, Fivecoate explained her Christian beliefs prevented her from seemingly endorsing the same-sex marriage by preparing the taxes jointly — but that does not mean she in, any way, disrespected the Brazzels. . .

“I am a Christian and I believe marriage is between one man and one woman. I was very respectful to them. I told them where I thought she might be able to get her taxes prepared,” Fivecoate explained. “I am not trying to destroy them by dragging them through social media. Why are they trying to destroy my business? I have made no comment on social media. Where is their respect for me and my beliefs?”

Trump Admin Announces Global Push to Decriminalize Homosexuality

The Trump administration revealed Tuesday that it will be spearheading a global effort to get countries to end their criminalization of homosexuality, according to a report by NBC News. While the move is likely to distress many of Trump’s Christian-base supporters, it has interestingly been met with a cold shoulder by U.S. pro-LGBT voices.

The effort is being led by U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, a homosexual conservative rumored to be in consideration as President Donald Trump’s next ambassador to the United Nations.

“It is concerning that, in the 21st century, some 70 countries continue to have laws that criminalize LGBTI status or conduct,” a US official told NBC News of the effort, which begins this week with an American-hosted strategy meeting in Berlin of LGBT advocates from across Europe.

The report notes that the effort is “narrowly focused on criminalization” instead of pressuring countries to adopt policies such as same-sex “marriage,” and is motivated in part by Iran hanging a man last month for violating the Islamic nation’s ban on sodomy, a capital offense (the man was also accused of kidnapping two teenagers, though it’s unclear how both offenses factored into his sentence. Grenell believes the kidnapping charges are false).

“This is not the first time the Iranian regime has put a gay man to death with the usual outrageous claims of prostitution, kidnapping, or even pedophilia. And it sadly won’t be the last time,” Grenell said. “Barbaric public executions are all too common in a country where consensual homosexual relationships are criminalized and punishable by flogging and death […] politicians, the U.N., democratic governments, diplomats and good people everywhere should speak up — and loudly.”

Florida Family Is Raising a Gender-Neutral ‘Theyby’

By The Blaze. A Florida family is opting to raise their child, Sparrow, as “gender-neutral,” and calling the child a “theyby.”

According to WTSP-TV, Ari Dennis — Sparrow’s mom — believes that her child’s genitals don’t determine her child’s gender.

“We did not assign a sex at birth, which means when they were born, they had genitals, we know what they are, we just chose to acknowledge that those genitals don’t indicate anything about gender,” Dennis explained.

Dennis said that Sparrow, who is 11 months old, will be able to decide his or her gender when he or she is older, and even noted that her child’s birth certificate says “unknown” under “sex.”

Raising Sparrow: Not a Boy or a Girl. This Florida Family Is Raising a Gender-Neutral ‘Theyby’

By 10 News. Instead of “boy” or “girl”, gender neutral babies are known as “theybies”. “Theybies” refer to babies without a known sex.

This parenting philosophy means only the parents and trusted caregivers know the baby’s anatomy. They believe the gender part comes later and is left up to the child. Ari Dennis is one of those parents. . .

Disney Is Holding a Pride Parade at One of Its Theme Parks

The Walt Disney Company is embracing LGBT pride month for the first time ever and hosting a gay pride parade in its Disneyland Paris park in France.

The massive corporation has been moving toward a more liberal approach to sexual identity over the last decade, but the “Magical Pride” parade, set to take place on June 1, 2019, is the first time the Disney Parks have openly embraced and endorsed the shift.

The event will take place right at the beginning of global pride month — June — and will feature a “Magical March of Diversity Parade,” reportedly involving DJs, live music performances, and themed photo opportunities for visitors to the Disneyland Paris park, according to Queerty.

Gay pride events in Disney Parks are not new. The “Magical Pride” celebration has been an “unofficial” event at Disneyland Paris since 2014. Disney parks located in the United States — Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California — have both hosted unofficial LGBT events including “Gay Days,” an unofficial weekend celebration for gay couples and same sex parents. The first Gay Days celebration took place in the mid-to-late 2000s. . .

Disney has been inching closer to a cultural shift over the last decade, slowly incorporating openly LGBT characters into its television shows and animated features (including an LGBT background character in Frozen). The upcoming Disney live action film, Jungle Cruise, based on the Disney parks attraction of the same name, will feature the first openly gay character in a Disney live action feature — though the character in question will be played by a straight actor will embrace some unsavory stereotypes of gay culture. Prominent Democratic Donor Charged in Teen Sex Abuse Case

Prominent LGBT activist, Democratic donor, and strong supporter of Barack Obama, Terry Bean, was indicted earlier this month on two counts of sodomy and one count of sex abuse against a teenage boy. . .

Fox News details the long and difficult task that prosecutors faced after Bean was first charged with sexual abuse in 2014:

Bean, a gay rights activist who donated almost $70,000 of his own money to former President Barack Obama’s campaign, was charged with sexual abuse in 2014 but the case was dismissed after the alleged victim did not testify. Prosecutors refiled the charges after this, court records stated, according to The Oregonian. The ‘alleged victim is not named in the new indictment’ but the dates are similar to the previous charges, KGW8 noted.

Bean, a real estate developer, and his former boyfriend, Kiah Lawson, allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old boy in a Eugene, Oregon, hotel in September 2013. They allegedly used the app Grindr to arrange the sexual encounter. Lawson was also charged but his case was dismissed.

According to KGW8, Bean continually donated to Democratic politicians after the 2014 charges were dropped, including Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty and head of the Portland Parks and Recreation Department and Bureau of Environmental Services Nick Fish. While Hardesty declined to comment, Nick Fish said that as long as Bean is presumed innocent, he will not return the donation. Another Man Found Dead at Home of Democratic Donor

In less than two years, two men have been found dead at prominent Democratic donor and LGBT community member Ed Buck’s West Hollywood home, a development that has West Hollywood council members and local LGBT leaders urging authorities to launch a full investigation.

At 1:05 a.m. Monday morning, West Hollywood sheriff’s deputies responded to a report that a person was not breathing at Buck’s Laurel Avenue apartment. Authorities say the person who called attempted to perform CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the cause of death yet unknown.

“The dead man’s name has not been released, but Nicole Nishida, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department, said he was black,” the Los Angeles Times reports. “Buck previously was investigated for the death of another black man, the 2017 overdose of Gemmel Moore, 26.”

Authorities stated Monday that Buck was present for both deaths and announced that they are conducting a “thorough investigation” into the second death and that they will now reopen a “followup” investigation into Moore’s death, which occurred in July 2017.

“Investigators are conducting a thorough investigation, which includes follow up interviews and a secondary review of the July 27, 2017 incident,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement Monday. “As with the previous incident, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office was intimately involved in reviewing the facts of the case, and will be so in this case as well.” (Read more from “Another Man Found Dead at Home of Democratic Donor” HERE)

Apple Removes Christian Ministry App Following Complaints by LGBT Group

Apple removed a Christian ministry’s app from its store after an LGBT group claimed it implied being gay was a sickness, according to published reports.

A gay rights group, Truth Wins Out, got the so-called ex-gay app removed after it convinced the tech giant that the app was “dangerous,” “bigoted” and “hateful.” . . .

Living Hope Ministries of Arlington, Texas, told The Christian Post in an email that it was disappointed, but will continue its work.

“We are saddened by Apple’s and Microsoft’s removal of our app because of a single person’s false accusations. Regardless of their decision we will continue to make the app and our services available to those who seek them,” said Ricky Chalette, executive director of the ministry.

“We are a ministry that for nearly thirty years has helped individuals resolve their feelings they deem incongruent with their faith,” he continued. “We help people deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible study and accountability. We walk with them to align their lives with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Through support groups they realize they are not alone and are able to share honestly and openly in a non-condemning atmosphere about their struggles, passions, and victories. From chaos and confusion they often find peace, hope, and a deeper sense of personal wholeness. Our ministry is free and strictly voluntary.”
