Mich. LGBT Advocate Admits Bias Against ‘Women’ With Penises

For pure political chutzpah alone, Dana Nessel’s recent campaign commercial is about as perfect as it gets.

The Democratic candidate for attorney general in Michigan took a page out of Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst’s “Make ’Em Squeal” book and played the genitalia card. But whereas Ernst’s was a tongue-in-cheek attack on flaccid politicians in general, Nessel flat-out went after men as a whole.

Following week after surreal week of American politics, media, and entertainment being dominated by sex scandals, she told voters in her ad that they should vote for her for one simple reason: She doesn’t have manly parts.

“Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting?” Nessel asks. “Is it the candidate who doesn’t have a penis? I’d say so.”

Like I said, that’s some quality theater right there. She clearly woke up one morning and said to herself, “I’m not going to bring a knife to a gun fight.”

But here’s the thing. That’s actually what she did. When you set aside the “shock” factor and break it down philosophically, how can this woman expect us to take her seriously, based on the arguments her very progressive worldview has foisted on the culture in recent years?

Nessel’s legal career includes work on behalf of so-called LGBT rights, including challenges to Michigan’s bans against same-sex adoption and marriage.

So traditional gender roles be damned then, right? Because they said so, bigot. Fine. Why then should I believe the exclusive addition of women to the political mix will right any wrongs?

I mean, if Bruce Jenner can be Woman of the Year, it seems silly, counter-productive, or flat-out offensive to insist that women are the sole answer to anything based on nothing more than anatomy. After all, aren’t we taught that not all women have vaginas, and not all men have penises, according to the likes of Nessel? So which is it? Is gender a predetermined binary exercise, or a fluid social construct? Progressives like Nessel can’t have it both ways, although they often try.

Shouldn’t Nessel be expected and willing to follow her worldview all the way through to its logical conclusions if she expects Michigander votes? Oh, I’m a bigot for asking that question, too? I see how this works.

Two legs good, four legs bigot. But what the heck, I’ll just have to take that risk, because I’m not done yet.

Along with Nessel’s philosophical musings running afoul of the transgendered “principle,” they are also guilty of breaking the egalitarian ethos that has driven feminism for decades.

Women were said to be capable of doing anything a man could do — and, in many but not all cases, that was correct. And so it was that a whole new world of career options and lifestyle opportunities were made available to women.

But what Nessel suggests is to replace misogyny, whether real or imagined, with its female doppelganger. Or to paraphrase President Donald Trump, “Women alone can solve” what ails us.

Um, no. It seems that hardly a week has gone by for decades now without a new story about a female schoolteacher charged with having sexual relations with her underage students. So why doesn’t this string of scandal cause Nessel to say that women should no longer be hired as teachers?

Progressivism is nothing without its hypocrisies.

Women are broken and in need of redemption every bit as much as men are. Which the hypocrisy and self-refuting logic of Nessel’s pagan worldview proves. (For more from the author of “Mich. LGBT Advocate Admits Bias Against ‘Women’ With Penises” please click HERE)

LGBT Wants to Ban Sex-Change Reversal Research

A British university’s decision to abruptly cancel research into trans people who decide to revert to the sex they were born with has ignited a controversy over academic freedom and political correctness in the U.K.

Psychotherapist James Caspian found out about leftist intolerance the hard way when he proposed a research project on the topic of “detransitioning” to Bath Spa University, in southwest England.

Caspian wanted to study the growing number of people who regret their “gender reassignment” procedures. (“Gender reassignment” is the politically correct term for altering the body through surgery and hormones to appear like the opposite sex.) . . .

The British Guardian newspaper reports: “When he went back with his preliminary findings that suggested growing numbers of young people, particularly [transgender] women, were regretting gender reassignment, Bath Spa said his proposal would have to be resubmitted to the ethics committee, which rejected it.” [In this context, trans “women” are biological males who “transitioned” to look like and live as “women.” (Read more from “LGBT Wants to Ban Sex-Change Reversal Research” HERE)

The LGBTrans Deviants Want Your Kids, and Public Schools Are Just the Beginning

If you had argued pre-Obergefell that de-sexing marriage would lead to drag queens leading preschool storytime in public libraries and public schools hounded into hiding their mandatory sex ed curriculum from parents after a settlement requiring trans-friendly “education” starting in kindergarten, you would have been called an unhinged bigot. How could what two consenting adults do privately have any effect on whether five-year-olds are told they should consider cutting off their penises? Preposterous. Fear-mongering. Wild-eyed insanity.

Or not. Rod Dreher’s “Law of Merited Impossibility” strikes again: “It will never happen, and when it does, you bigots will deserve it.” As I’ve written before, Obergefell and related caselaw, which are still developing, are turning out not to be about what consenting adults do privately. They are the spear tip of a wholesale shift in law that is already negatively affecting children, because at its heart is the principle that sexuality is genderless. . .

Of course this is bad for kids, but it’s not about kids. They’re just pawns, as usual. It’s about politics. Pushing transgenderism not only destabilizes a key component of a child’s identity but also contributes to early sexualization that is linked with mental illness and risky behaviors. Early exposure to and lack of clear parental direction about sex is also linked with increased gender confusion, which is precisely what we’re seeing as clinics for cutting and pasting children’s hormones and body parts explode inside a media environment that glamorizes this form of child abuse. . .

Saint Paul’s Nova Classical Academy is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the top Minnesota high school. But it has been transformed into a rainbow Trojan horse after Dave and Hannah Edwards sued Nova for not including pro-transgender materials starting in kindergarten to accommodate their five-year-old son, whom they claim is transgender. Parents began transferring their kindergarteners out of the child’s class when they came home saying things like, “Mom, I think you can choose if you want to be a boy or a girl,” according to interviews with The Daily Signal.

The little boy began wearing a female uniform and accessories, and classes began to include pro-trans picture books endorsing gender fluidity. This month’s settlement after 16 months of litigation requires the school to make all uniforms available to both sexes, pay LGBT organizations to “train staff” in politically correct behavior every three years, and “not adopt any gender policy that allows parents to opt out of requirements in the gender inclusion policy because of objections based on religion or conscience.” This lawyer and Federalist contributor, after reviewing the settlement, said it appears to ban the school from even notifying parents of its sex policies. Surprise! Conservative State Goes ‘LGBT’ on Bathrooms

Amid opposition from hundreds of businesses and moderate Republican lawmakers, a Texas measure that would restrict access to bathrooms in schools and public buildings according to the gender on a person’s government-issued ID appears to be dead, according to lawmakers.

The state Senate passed SB3 in July by a 20-10 vote, but it was never referred to the House. The House version, HB46, never made it to committee, making passage unlikely before the legislature completes its 30-day special session on Wednesday.

“The bathroom bill in this session is dead and buried with dirt over its coffin,” said Mark Jones, a political science professor at Rice University in Houston told Reuters.

Proponents of the measure, who argue open bathrooms expose women and girls to sexual assault, have hoped that passage in Texas would give momentum in other states to legislation that would protect against the movement to open restrooms according to “gender identity.”

The bill would regulate bathroom access and locker rooms for public buildings and schools based on birth certificates and other government-issued identification documents. (Read more from “Surprise! Conservative State Goes ‘LGBT’ on Bathrooms” HERE)

Tech Tycoon Wants to Punish ‘Wicked’ Foes of LGBT Activism

A Colorado high-tech multimillionaire backing LGBT activism warns that his foundation will “punish the wicked”—those who oppose the political agenda advanced in the name of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans.

Tim Gill created the Gill Foundation with a $300 million endowment to promote LGBT legislation. The foundation, based in Denver, has worked against religious freedom measures since 1994.

“It’s the religious right that decided to make marriage an issue. They worked tirelessly on it for decades, and they lost,” Gill said in a recent interview in Rolling Stone magazine.

After the 2015 Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges, which legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states, Gill focused on defeating religious liberty legislation.

Recently, he fought against the proposed Religious Freedom Restoration Act, or RFRA, in Georgia.

The measure would have prevented the government from intervention in religious practice without a compelling governmental interest.

To defeat the legislation, Gill founded Georgia Prospers, which orchestrated protests in the state. Georgia Prospers also drafted an opposition petition for major Georgia businesses, such as Coca-Cola, to protest the RFRA.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, a Republican, ultimately vetoed the bill.

Gill’s involvement started with an amendment to the Colorado Constitution, known commonly as Initiative 2, according to an interview he did at Yale University. Initiative 2, which was passed but later overturned in court, proposed that no state law could assign protected status for sexual orientation.

“My assistant’s assistant at Quark had actually voted in favor of [passing the amendment],” Gill said. “I thought, ‘She says I should be able to be fired for being gay; that sexual orientation shouldn’t protect me.’ I thought, ‘Maybe I should fire her.’”

Instead, he donated $1 million to the effort to overturn the amendment.

“When I look around the country, I see people that are victims of hate crimes,” Gill said in a promotional video for his foundation, explaining his activism.

Gill’s political efforts are funded by his success in the tech industry. Raised in a Republican family, he made his fortune as a programmer.

Gill sold his stake in Quark, his software startup, for $500 million in 1992, Rolling Stone noted. He then moved into LGBT activism full time and has since shifted 60 percent of his assets into an endowment for the Gill Foundation. Betsy DeVos Won’t Promise Extra Privileges to LGBT Activists. And Liberals Are Mad

A U.S. congressional hearing last week provided a stark lesson on how “LGBT anti-discrimination” laws are used to crush freedom of people to live according to their faith-informed conscience.

Trump’s education secretary, Betsy DeVos, was testifying at a House Appropriations Subcommittee hearing on the topic of school choice and vouchers – federal grants provided to the states to be dispersed in a way that allows parents to choose the best school for their children, regardless of whether it is public or private, religious or secular.

Championing school choice, especially for disadvantaged poor children shackled to failing public schools, is DeVos’ calling in life and the reason Donald Trump picked her to run the Education Department. By appointing her, Trump defied the hysterical complaints of “educrat” elites and the radically pro-LGBT teachers’ unions, who view DeVos as an urgent threat to their agenda and their monopoly on education policy. Catholic School Hit for Canceling LGBT Play for 5-Year-Olds

LGBT Canadians are furious after a Catholic school district canceled performances of a play about gender identity — meant for children as young as 5 years old.

“I fear these cancellations may be based on misinformation, grown out of fear, intolerance, transphobia, homophobia and misogyny,” wrote Jessica Carmichael, the artistic director of the Carousel Playhouse.

The playhouse had been scheduled to perform a play called, Boys, Girls and Other Mythological Creatures. The show had already been booked in five elementary schools in the Niagara Catholic School District.

The play features an 8-year-old boy who dresses as a girl and questions his gender, The Globe and Mail reports . . .

It turns out the Canadian government believes it’s appropriate to discuss transgenderism with small children — without their parents being present. I’m surprised the actors didn’t try to give the kids condoms. (Read more from “Catholic School Hit for Canceling LGBT Play for 5-Year-Olds” HERE)

Lesbian Teacher Bans Cross Jewelry, Plasters Class With LGBT Propaganda

The Christian religious liberty defense group Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter to the Hillsborough County Public Schools on Thursday to protest a lesbian activist teacher who allegedly banned some of her students from wearing Christian jewelry and turned her classroom into an intolerant, pro-LGBTQ propaganda zone.

Lora Jane Riedas, a math teacher at Riverview High School in Tampa, placed LGBT “rainbow” stickers on her students’ notebooks and decorated her classroom with décor that “blatantly promotes a pro-LGBT agenda,” according to the letter from Liberty Counsel attorneys Richard Mast and Mary McAlister to Hillsborough County schools Superintendent Jeff Eakins.

“I need you to take your necklace off,” Riedas allegedly said to one student wearing a cross necklace. The student, Liberty Counsel’s client, asked “Why?” Then Riedas refused to explain, stating “That’s disrespectful; you have to take it off,” according to the demand letter.

“Our client did not want to be disrespectful, so she took it off, but she felt bad because she felt she was being forced to deny her faith,” said the letter. “All of our clients are afraid to openly wear their cross necklaces in [Riedas’] class anymore.”

Riedas has prohibited at least three students from wearing Christian cross necklaces in her classroom, claiming they are “gang symbols,” according to the Liberty Counsel press release. One of the crosses, a tiny crucifix worn by Liberty Counsel’s ninth grade client, is less than an inch long. Vandals Spray-Paint LGBT Slogans on Marriage Groups’ Tour Bus Near UN

Two men spray-painted and smashed the windshield of a tour bus used by the National Organization for Marriage in “broad daylight” Thursday in New York City, the pro-marriage group says.

The two men “approached the bus with a can of spray paint and a hammer and they began spray-painting on the side of the bus,” National Organization for Marriage spokesman Joe Grabowski told The Daily Signal in a phone interview.

The bus driver tried to stop the men during the incident, which occurred near the United Nations, Grabowski said.

“There was a bit of an altercation and then they smashed the windshield with the hammer and put a couple of holes inside of the bus as well as spray-painting it,” Grabowski said.

The men spray-painted what appeared to be slogans in favor of “LGBT rights” for lesbian, bisexual, gay, and transgender individuals. One said: “Trans liberation.”

“They were able to get away,” he said. “The driver was not injured except for a scrape on his hand.”

National Organization for Marriage, which defends marriage as the union of one man and one woman, calls the bus its Free Speech Bus.

The bus tour is a joint initiative with CitizenGo, which seeks to “defend and promote life, family, and liberty,” and the International Organization for the Family, which works to protect marriage globally.

The purpose of the bus, Grabowski said, is to “convey the message [that] biology is the basis of sex, that we are made male and female, and that’s rooted in biology and can’t be changed.”

The New York Police Department is investigating the incident. Grabowski said his organization doesn’t know the identities of the vandals.

This incident, he said, illustrates the lack of tolerance some have on the issues of same-sex marriage and gender identity:

We would also point out that if the shoe were on the other foot, if this was a transgender rights bus, that had a bus driver [been] pushed around and the vehicle vandalized, that would be all over the major news outlets, and it would also probably spur a civil rights investigation from the Justice Department. There’s a great amount of hypocrisy we feel.

Gregory Mertz, U.S. director of CitizenGO, told The Daily Signal in an email that the bus was in New York City until Friday to participate in the 61st session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations.

The session, which began March 13 and ended Friday, sought “how to mandate comprehensive sexuality education to children as young as 4 years of age, which includes the teaching of gender ideology,” Mertz said.

According to its website, the Commission on the Status of Women at the U.N. says its purpose is to advance women’s rights, “documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women.”

Ryan T. Anderson, a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal in an email that civility must surround the debate on both sides of the issue:

For most Americans, debates surrounding the concept of gender identity are new. Rather than rush to impose a politically correct orthodoxy on the entire country, we need to foster civil and thoughtful conversations.

The bus will continue its tour along the East Coast, despite “some major costs to get the bus back on the road this weekend,” Grabowski said.

The Free Speech Bus is scheduled to travel to Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., in the coming week. (For more from the author of “Vandals Spray-Paint LGBT Slogans on Marriage Groups’ Tour Bus Near UN” please click HERE)

An Appeal to the President and Vice-President to Reconsider Their LGBT Strategy

Dear Mr. President and Mr. Vice-President,

I write this letter as a supporter and advocate, not a critic or adversary. As someone who voted for you and who regularly calls on millions of Americans to pray for you. I also write this with the understanding that you have been elected to serve the American people as a whole and not just one particular faction of Americans.

The great challenge, however, is one that you must deal with on a daily basis: When you stand up for what you believe is right — be it securing our borders or nominating a solid pro-life justice to the Supreme Court — you will alienate a certain number of Americans who oppose your policies and choices. That is inevitable, although regrettable, but if there is any political leader on the planet who is more concerned with acting on convictions than with pleasing people, it is you.

And this brings me to the heart of this appeal.

While you have consistently positioned yourself as a friend of the LGBT community during your campaigning, having Peter Thiel speak at the Republican National Convention and holding up a “LGBT’s for Trump” flag at one of your rallies, you have never positioned yourself as a champion of the gay and transgender agenda.

Conversely, you have most certainly positioned yourself as a champion of religious freedom, and you know that without the vote of conservative Christians (with whom I identify), you could not have gained the presidency. In that respect, we are a unique and important part of your constituency and some of your strongest supporters.

In your first weeks in office, we have been tremendously heartened by some key choices you have made, and we were encouraged by the forcefulness of your speech at the National Prayer Breakfast. It is clear that our religious liberties are very important to you, and they should be, since they are at the very foundation of our nation.

We were also encouraged to hear that you were considering legislation that would have protected religious groups from the negative effects of one of President Obama’s executive orders, namely, the order that put sexual orientation and gender identity on a par with skin color and ethnicity, as if gay was the new black or as if a man identifying as a woman was the same as him being Asian or Hispanic.

As it turns out, you decided to uphold Mr. Obama’s pro-LGBT activism, meaning, that while standing strongly for religious liberty you are unintentionally undercutting that very same liberty.

Mr. President, I truly believe that you desire to stand with LGBT Americans and you do not want to see them hurt or attacked by others, and I second your sentiments wholeheartedly. At the same time, your actions will potentially punish conservative Christians and others for simply living out their faith. Not only so, but I believe you will soon learn that there is no appeasing LGBT activists and that as long as you demonstrate loyalty to your conservative Christian base, you will be considered their enemy.

To make matters worse — and here I turn my appeal to Mr. Pence — when the vice president recently appeared on ABC News with George Stephanopoulos, discussing this very issue, Mr. Pence responded to a pointed question about this action by stating that “throughout the campaign, President Trump made it clear that discrimination would have no place in our administration.” He added, “I think the generosity of his spirit, recognizing that in the patriot’s heart, there’s no room for prejudice, is part of who this president is.”

Mr. Vice President, I know you are a committed Christian yourself, but may I ask if you are saying that it is prejudiced and discriminatory for someone to believe that it’s best for a child to have a mother and father (rather than two fathers or two mothers)? That it is prejudiced and discriminatory to believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman (and therefore not the union of two men or two women)? That it is prejudiced and discriminatory to believe that a 15-year-old boy who believes he is a girl should not be allowed to play on the girls’ sports teams or share their locker rooms and shower stalls?

Last year in England, a 42-year-old Christian evangelist was handing out gospel pamphlets on the street when a 19-year-old gay teen asked him what his God said about homosexuality. The preacher quoted Genesis to him, explaining that God made Adam and Eve to reproduce and have children.

Subsequently, the preacher was arrested and held in custody overnight and “accused of threatening or abusive behaviour ‘aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation’ — despite not swearing or using any form of offensive language.”

Vice President Pence, with all due honor, I ask you: Do you see how your choice of words reinforces the same mentality that led to the arrest of this Christian evangelist, specifically, that his actions were allegedly “aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation”?

And President Trump, with the utmost respect, I ask you: Do you see how the executive order you upheld is a step in the wrong direction, a direction that ultimately leads to discrimination against Christians?

I’m quite aware, Mr. President, that the case in England is different than the federal legislation that you signed, but having monitored the trajectory of LGBT activism for more than a decade, I can assure you that you will not win the widespread support of the LGBT community until you distance yourself from the evangelical Christians who helped elect you and who gave you wise counsel throughout your campaign. In other words, you will not be viewed as a real friend of the LGBT community until you side with gay activism at the cost of Christian liberties.

May I ask you to give these matters your prayerful consideration, inviting some of your most trusted spiritual advisors for input as well? And may I ask you, at the least, to go ahead and write the executive order we were expecting, namely the one enshrining our religious liberties?

If you put religious liberties first, it will be for the good of the nation as a whole.

If you side against these precious liberties, it will hurt the nation as a whole.

May God Himself give you wisdom. You have my prayerful support. (For more from the author of “An Appeal to the President and Vice-President to Reconsider Their LGBT Strategy” please click HERE)
