GOP Rep. Reintroduces Resolution to Effectively ‘Cancel’ the Democrat Party Over Ties to Slavery

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is reintroducing a privileged resolution that would have House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) essentially remove “any item that names, symbolizes or mentions any political organization or party that has ever held a public position that supported slavery or the Confederacy, from any area within the House wing of the Capitol or any House,” which, in effect, includes the Democrat Party itself.

“While Democrats continue to denounce our country ad nauseam over ‘systemic racism,’ they somehow always fail to take responsibility for their own party’s abhorrent historical views and policies which promulgated racism in our nation for decades,” Gohmert said in a statement, emphasizing that Democrat Party policies have “caused a great deal of destruction to the nuclear family, significantly impacting minority homes.”

He continued:

Whether it be slavery or segregation and Jim Crow laws, one thing is certain: this disgraceful and inhumane stain on American history is covered in the fingerprints of the Democratic Party. Due to parliamentary issues, I am re-introducing my Privileged Resolution and urging my Democratic colleagues to rid the House wing of the U.S. Capitol of any item that names, symbolizes or mentions their own political party because of its past support for slavery and the Confederacy. Though I personally believe we need to learn from history including the good, the bad and the ugly, the Democratic Party has initiated this purging but needs assistance to avoid unparalleled hypocrisy. So, it is time for Democrats to account for, be washed of, and rid our Capitol of the sins of their party’s past. I hope they join me in voting to ensure that the U.S. Capitol building is a ‘safe space’ for all Americans under the new principles they themselves unveiled.

The battle over canceling America’s history boiled over in the summer during the widespread protests, as progressive lawmakers and thought leaders peddled the leftist narrative of “systemic racism” embedded in America. Black Lives Matter agitators responded and in some cases, quite literally, tore down historic memorials and statues. (Read more from “GOP Rep. GOP Rep. Recovers From COVID, Credits Hydroxychloroquine

Rep. Louie Gohmert has recovered from the coronavirus and plans to donate plasma in the coming days, he told the Washington Examiner. . .

Gohmert tested positive for the coronavirus on July 29 after taking a test at the White House ahead of a planned trip with President Trump.

Gohmert drove to Texas to self-quarantine and suffered several days of mild symptoms, including fatigue, but is now free of the virus, he said. . .

Gohmert, who turns 67 next week, told the Washington Examiner he believes his recovery was aided by the use of vitamin supplements and hydroxychloroquine, the drug touted by Trump and some medical doctors that is not endorsed by the Food and Drug Administration for use in treating the coronavirus.

“I had a couple of bad days, but I started taking hydroxychloroquine, [Zithromax], and zinc, along with vitamins D3 and C,” he said. “And I took a steroid nebulizer for a few days to help coat the alveoli in the lungs and protect them somewhat from the COVID virus attack.” (Read more from “GOP Rep. WATCH: House Hearing Turns Chaotic After Rep. Gohmert Refuses to Stop Knocking on Table to Drown out Witness

A hearing of the House Judiciary Committee turned to chaos after Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) objected to the time given to a witness by continuing to knock on his table and drown out the witness.

The incident occurred Wednesday as former Deputy Attorney General Donald Ayer was giving his opening statement to the committee.

Ayer was excoriating Attorney General William Barr when Gohmert began banging on his table with his ring.

“Here though the wrong is much worse, as Barr is using a criminal investigation to produce fodder for the president’s campaign propaganda mill. Which can have its effect even if it is false!” said Ayer.

Here Gohmert began to knock his ring against the table. After about a minute, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) asked for Gohmert to be stopped by force.

Louie Gohmert Chooses Country’s Security Over Job Security

Rep. Louie GohmertContrast the unprincipled two-faced behavior of Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) with regards to the Iran treaty to the principled stand of a true statesman. Sitting in for Sean Hannity, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), in a heartfelt monologue against the Iran deal, promised to not run for re-election if House leaders bring his resolution to the floor next week, requiring that the Iran deal be treated as a treaty and subjecting it to the 67-vote threshold in the Senate.

Following his recent trip to Egypt and seeing such a beleaguered nation stand up to the Muslim Brotherhood and radical Islam, Gohmert said he was racking his brains as to what he can do to get leadership to listen.

“I know the Republican leaders want me out of Congress; they consider me a pain in the rear – to put it mildly,” said Gohmert to Hannity listeners.

“I give you my word, I will not run for re-election.”

“You want me out this is your best shot, just follow the Constitution.”

This is not a hollow threat. Boehner hates Gohmert so badly, if there’s anything that would prompt him to actually fight the Iran deal in a meaningful way it would be the opportunity to get rid of Gohmert.

The question is if Boehner loves the country as much as he hates Gohmert. (For more from the author of “Louie Gohmert Chooses Country’s Security Over Job Security” please click HERE)

Louie Gohmert: “Appalled that Jade Helm hostile areas have Republican Majority”

By Matt Berman. U.S. Special Operations Command is preparing to launch a five-month, multi-state exercise across private and public land to prepare Army special forces for threats anywhere in the world. Or at least that’s what the Pentagon would want you to believe. Officials and citizens in Texas, one of the states involved, see something potentially more nefarious in the exercise, dubbed Jade Helm 15. And now Rep. Louie Gohmert is joining them.

“Over the past few weeks, my office has been inundated with calls referring to the Jade Helm 15 military exercise scheduled to take place between July 15 and September 15, 2015,” Gohmert said in a Tuesday statement. “This military practice has some concerned that the U.S. Army is preparing for modern-day martial law. Certainly, I can understand these concerns.”

“When leaders within the current administration believe that major threats to the country include those who support the Constitution, are military veterans, or even ‘cling to guns or religion,’ patriotic Americans have reason to be concerned,” Gohmert wrote.

The congressman took particular issue with the layout and labels of the Pentagon map for the exercise. “Once I observed the map depicting ‘hostile,’ ‘permissive,’ and ‘uncertain’ states and locations, I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, ‘cling to their guns and religion,’ and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution.” Gohmert called on the Pentagon to change the map, the names on the map, and said “the tone of the exercise needs to be completely revamped so the federal government is not intentionally practicing war against its own states.” (Read more from “Louie Gohmert: Appalled that Jade Helm Hostile Areas Have GOP Majority” HERE)

Pentagon: Texas Has Nothing to Fear From Upcoming Military Exercise

By James Rosen. The Pentagon has a message for Texas: chill.

Defense officials Monday dismissed as “wild speculation” an Internet-fueled claim that a massive summertime exercise called Jade Helm 15 for special operations commandos is a covert operation by President Barack Obama to take over Texas.

That claim was given legitimacy by Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott’s order last week for the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercises.

“Operation Jade Helm poses no threat to any American’s civil liberties,” Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman, said Monday. “Operation Jade Helm is being conducted by Americans – by, specifically, American special forces personnel.”

Jade Helm 15 will be one of the biggest peacetime military exercises in six decades. Starting July 15 and lasting two months, thousands of Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALS and other special operations forces will simulate war missions in mainly remote areas of Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas and Utah. Louie Gohmert’s Run For Speaker Against Ethically-Challenged Boehner Facing “Real Intimidation”

Photo Credit: The Blaze By Erica Ritz. Texas Republican Louie Gohmert said there is “real intimidation” happening in the fight to determine who will be the next speaker of the House of Representatives.

Gohmert announced Sunday that he is running for speaker to unseat John Boehner (R-Ohio). Glenn Beck warned him Monday that if he doesn’t win, his political future is over.

“If you don’t win, you’re toast,” Beck said. “And that’s exactly what they’re going to be saying [to those who don’t vote for Boehner]. That’s what Boehner is saying to everybody right now. ‘Listen, you don’t vote for me, you don’t play ball with me now, you’re not getting on any committee. You’re not going to be heard from again.’”

“Yes,” Gohmert said. “I tell you what, Glenn, there is some real intimidation going on. Apparently this morning there was a statement released by Boehner’s people saying David Brat was going to vote for him.” (Read more about “Ethically-Challenged Boehner” HERE)

Boehner Profits from Obamacare Stocks

By WND. Since the passage of Obamacare, House Speaker John Boehner has been dogged by critics pointing out his investment portfolio has benefited from owning insurance and medical company stocks that have profited from the legislation.

An analysis of Boehner’s current investment holdings includes a number of stocks benefiting from Obamacare in a total portfolio estimated at between $3.5 and $5 million in current market value. . .

Peter Schweizer, in his 2011 book on Washington corruption, “Throw Them All Out: How Politicians and Their Friends Get Rich Off Insider Stock Tips, Land Deals, and Cronyism that Would Send the Rest of Us to Prison,” noted on Page 20: “Congressman John Boehner, who was leading the opposition to Obamacare in the House of Representatives, may have been fighting John Kerry on policy matters, but he was entirely allied with him when it came to investment decisions.”

Schweizer continued:

On December 10, 2008, Boehner bought numerous health insurance company stocks, including tens of thousands of dollars in Cardinal Health, Cigna, and Wellpoint. On the same day, Boehner purchased shares in the Big Pharm companies Amgen, Johnson & Johnson, Forest Labs, Covidien, and Pfizer. He also bought shares in CareFusion, which provides systems for countering infections. Just days later, on December 15, the Washington Post declared that the ‘public option’ was officially dead.

Schweitzer drew a causal link, noting that Boehner’s heavy investment in Obamacare stocks meant his political opposition to the legislation was undermined by his personal interest. (Read more from this story HERE)

Gohmert Details Ethically-Challenged Boehner’s Broken Promises

By Sarah Rumpf. [A] major driving force behind [Gohmert’s] efforts to oust Boehner are the “broken promises” from the Speaker, and he elaborated more on these issues with Breitbart Texas. According to Gohmert, these broken promises include:

*Promising to “fight tooth and nail” against Obama’s executive amnesty orders, but then allowing the CRomnibus bill to proceed forward with it still being funded;
*Promising every debt ceiling increase would be paired with a spending cut, but that has not happened;
*Promising Members would have time to properly read bills, then allowing only a three day period, which in reality was actually only two days;
*Promising a regular order of bills through committees, but bills keep coming to the floor without having followed that process;
*Promising that sequestrations would not happen, but then later declaring that they were necessary;
*Promising he would only serve one term as Speaker when he first ran; and
*Promising to have more transparent and open Speakership than Pelosi, who would not allow amendments, but instead running what Gohmert dubbed “the most closed Speakership in the history of the country.”

Firebrand Louie Gohmert Takes on Establishment Darling John Boehner, Makes Run for Speaker

Photo Credit: Getty ImagesBy Zach Noble. It’s official: House Speaker John Boehner has multiple challengers gunning for his job.

Texas Republican Louie Gohmert announced Sunday morning on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” that he would throw his hat into the ring, saying he’s officially a candidate for the speaker gig.

Gohmert’s announcement comes as Boehner’s approval from conservative voters sags.

Gohmert’s office also sent a statement to TheBlaze on the announcement, in which Gohmert said that his bid — or other Republicans’ bids — for the speaker position don’t create a serious risk that Democrats could slip in a victorious candidate. Why I will Not Vote for John Boehner to be House Speaker

By Rep. Jim Bridenstine. The day after Republicans won the largest majority in the House of Representatives in almost 100 years and won a significant majority in the Senate, our liberal activist president claimed to hear the voices of all the people who didn’t vote. It was another example of stunning obstinacy from this president.

It seemed Democrats were melting down, Republicans were unified, and all we had to do was buy enough time to get our Republican reinforcements to Washington in January.

Like President Obama, Speaker John Boehner must have heard voices that didn’t vote.

The CR/omnibus legislation sufficiently undermines the checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution that it warrants my pending vote against the speaker. John Boehner went too far when he teamed with Obama to advance this legislation. He relinquished the power of the purse, and with it he lost my vote. (Read more from this story HERE)

Rep. Louie Gohmert: Holder’s ‘Childish and Lame’ Performance at Hearing Undermines His Credibility On the IRS Scandal

Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert said that his recent heated exchange with Attorney General Eric Holder exposed Holder as a “partisan and extremely petty” individual and undermined Holder’s ability to defend the Obama administration on the IRS scandal in coming weeks.

“I know what it’s like to be in the heat of a very nasty conversation. I perhaps have been in those kinds of conversations more than our attorney general. And that’s why his comments were so childish and lame,” Gohmert told The Daily Caller in a conference call Tuesday night.

“You don’t want to go there, buddy! You don’t want to go there okay,” Holder snapped at Gohmert at a Judiciary Committee oversight hearing last week after Gohmert mentioned Holder’s 2012 contempt of Congress charge over the Fast and Furious scandal. Holder then spoke last week at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network conference, telling a black audience, “it had nothing to do with me. Forget that. What attorney general has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment?”

“John Mitchell got treated much much worse than Eric Holder and he deserved it. He was even sent to prison and he still didn’t whine as much as this attorney general did and he didn’t go around calling people ‘buddy,’” said Gohmert.

Gohmert: Holder Chooses Which Americans He ‘Persecutes’ (+video)

In an interview this morning, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R., Tex.) said Attorney General Eric Holder “persecutes” some Americans.

Yesterday, Gohmert and Holder had a spirited exchange in a hearing when Gohmert pressed Holder for information regarding the documents the Justice Department has about an Islamic charity based in Texas, and the Fast and Furious scandal. At one point during the hearing Holder pointed his finger at Gohmert and said, “You don’t want to go there.”

Gohmert told Fox and Friends this morning that it’s “nothing personal.”

“He seems like a likable guy,” Gohmert said of Holder. But “he is the highest law enforcement officer in the country, and he is obviously choosing — making personal choices rather than objective choices on who he prosecutes and persecutes and who he doesn’t.”

Holder on Gohmert Exchange: ‘What Attorney General Has Ever Had to Deal With That Kind of Treatment?’

Eric Holder ventured off script in a speech Wednesday to the National Action Network, the organization led by MSNBC host and recently-exposed FBI informant Al Sharpton.

“I’m pleased to note that the last five years have been defined by significant strides and by lasting reforms,” said Holder at the conference of black activists, before improvising “even in the face, even in the face, of unprecedented, unwarranted, ugly, and divisive adversity.”

“If you don’t believe that, if you look at the way, forget about me, forget about me, if you look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated yesterday by a House Committee, it had nothing to do with me, forget that, what attorney general has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment?”

Holder’s remarks — not contained in the text of the speech published at the website for the Department of Justice — were in reference to a terse exchange he had Tuesday with Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert in a House Judiciary Committee hearing about documents related to a terror trial. (RELATED: Eric Holder explodes at GOP rep: ‘You don’t want to go there buddy!’)
