Gen. Milley Warns West Point Graduates of ‘Significant International Conflict’

Army General Mark Milley warned West Point Cadet graduates to prepare for the increase use of new global weapons technologies and the risk of global conflict in the future.

While speaking at the 2022 commencement ceremony, Milley cautioned a change that is about to happen in the “character of war,” saying “we are facing right now two global powers, China and Russia, each with significant military capabilities, and both who fully intend to change the current rules based order.”

According to Milley, Ukraine’s conflict with Russia and President Joe Biden’s deployment of troops to Somalia will bring on a spike of international conflicts, adding “Russia’s invasion is only teaching that aggression left unanswered only emboldens the aggressor.”

Trump Says Top US General Should Be ‘Tried for Treason’

Former President Donald Trump put out a statement on Friday saying that Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, should be “tried for treason” — a crime punishable by death — for taking steps to prevent a war with China during the Trump presidency.

In his lengthy statement, Trump skewered the contents of the book “Peril” by The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward and Robert Costa and called Milley “one of the dumber generals in the military.”

“Does anybody really believe that longtime Con Man Bob Woodward, and his lightweight lapdog assistant Robert Costa, are implying in their book of fiction that I was planning to go to war with China, but that one of the dumber generals in the military called the Chinese to tell them that he will inform them if this action proceeds further,” the statement said. “Milley may have called, but if so, he should be tried for treason.”

“I never had even a thought of going to war with China, other than the war I was winning, which was on TRADE,” Trump added.

Woodward and Costa write that Milley made two phone calls to Chinese Gen. Li Zuocheng — one on October 30, 2020, and the other on January 8 in the wake of the Capitol siege. (Read more from “Trump Says Top US General Should Be ‘Tried for Treason'” HERE)

‘Biden Lied’: President Blasted After Top Generals Testify; Senator Grills Milley, Austin on Afghanistan Withdrawal; Reporters Grill Psaki On Contradictions

By Daily Wire. President Joe Biden faced backlash on Tuesday after top U.S. military leaders, testifying in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee, directly contradicted what Biden told the American public during an interview over the summer amidst the U.S.’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, and head of U.S. Central Command Gen. Kenneth McKenzie gave their testimonies under oath in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee over Biden’s chaotic pullout from Afghanistan last month.

Biden faced widespread criticism, comparing his prior remarks, made during an interview back in August with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos, with statements the generals gave today — statements which appeared to directly contradict what Biden said.

Numerous top Republicans online wrote that “Biden lied.” . . .

McKenzie said that the recommendation that he gave to Biden was “shaped” by his honest opinion of the situation in Afghanistan, which was that the U.S. needed to “maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan” and that pulling out those forces would “lead inevitably to the collapse of the Afghan military forces and eventually the Afghan government.” (Read more from “‘Biden Lied’: President Blasted After Top Generals Testify” HERE)

Senator Grills Top Generals on Afghanistan Withdrawal

By Daily Caller. Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton confronted Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley during a Tuesday hearing. . .

Cotton began by asking the generals whether they had advised Biden to keep a small contingent of American troops in Afghanistan — and while they declined to comment on actual conversations they had with the president, they all agreed that their assessment had been in favor of leaving some 2500 troops on the ground.

Cotton then pointed to Biden’s claim that no military leader had advised him to leave a small troop presence in Afghanistan. “Is that true?” he asked Austin.

“Senator Cotton, I believe that – first of all, I know the president to be an honest and forthright man, and secondly –” Austin began.

“It’s a simple question, Secretary Austin,” Cotton interrupted. “He said no senior military leader advised him to leave small troop presence behind. Is that true or not? Did these officers’ and Gen. Milley’s recommendations get to the president personally?” (Read more from “Senator Grills Top Generals on Afghanistan Withdrawal” HERE)

Reporter Grills Psaki After Top Generals Contradict Biden’s Public Claims on Afghanistan Withdrawal

By Daily Caller. Reporters asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki during Tuesday’s press briefing about top generals who testified that they opposed President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw all troops from Afghanistan.

ABC News Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran asked Psaki who had advised the president to withdraw from Afghanistan. During Tuesday’s testimony, both Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley stated that they had been in favor of leaving 2,500 troops on the ground.

Biden previously claimed that no senior military leader advised him to leave some troops behind.

“Who in his military advisers told him it would be fine to pull everybody out?” Moran asked during the briefing.

“I’m not going to get into specific details of who recommended what,” the press secretary said. She added that “there were recommendations made by a range of his advisers” and Biden had “welcomed” the input. Milley Details Nancy Pelosi’s Attempt To Take Over the Chain-of-Command (VIDEO)

During his opening statement in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee Tuesday morning, General Mark Milley denied inappropriate phone calls with the Chinese military and tried to reassure Americans he is dedicated to civilian control of the military. . .

In his remarks, Milley also addressed a phone call from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on January 8, 2021, in which she pressed him about the process to launch a nuclear weapon. Milley says he informed her that while launching such a weapon requires multiple people in the chain of command, the president is the sole authority to launch an attack.

“Speaker of the House Pelosi called me to inquire about the president’s ability to launch nuclear weapons. I sought to assure her that nuclear launch is governed by a very specific and deliberate process. She was concerned and made various personal references characterizing the president [President Trump]. I explained to her the president is the sole nuclear launch authority and he doesn’t launch them alone and that I am not qualified to determine the mental health of the President of the United States,” Milley said. “There are processes, protocols and procedures in place and I repeatedly assured her there was no chance of an illegal, unauthorized or accidental launch. By presidential directive, and Secretary of Defense directive, the chairman is part of the process to ensure the president is fully informed when determining the use of the world’s deadliest weapons. By law, I’m not in the chain of command and I know that. However, by presidential directive and DOD instruction, I am in the chain of communication to fulfill my legal, statutory role as the president’s primary military advisor.”

Trump: ‘Nutjob’ Milley Never Told Me of Calls To Chinese General

Former President Donald Trump claimed Wednesday that he was completely in the dark about Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, speaking to his Chinese counterpart in the final months of the Trump administration.

“Milley never told me about calls being made to China,” Trump said in an emailed statement from his Save America PAC. “From what I understand, he didn’t tell too many other people either. He put our Country in a very dangerous position but [Chinese] President Xi [Jinping] knows better, and would’ve called me.”

Gen. Milley’s contacts with a top Chinese military official were detailed in a forthcoming book co-authored by Watergate reporter Bob Woodward.

Woodward, a longtime Washington Post associate editor, and reporter Robert Costa reveal in their book “Peril” that Milley made two calls to People’s Liberation Army Gen. Li Zuocheng, one on Oct. 30, 2020 and the other on Jan. 8, 2021. (Read more from “Trump: ‘Nutjob’ Milley Never Told Me of Calls To Chinese General” HERE)

Dinesh D’Souza: Gen. Milley’s Actions Demonstrate the United States Was Essentially Under a Military Dictatorship

The Associated Press reports, “The top U.S. military officer on Wednesday defended the phone calls he made to his Chinese counterpart in the final months of Donald Trump’s presidency, saying the conversations were in keeping with his duties as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”

“Absolutely breathtaking, unbelievable,” says Dinesh D’Souza, author, filmmaker, and host of the Dinesh D’Souza Podcast.

If the allegations against General Mark Milley are true, a top military official usurped the U.S. government and colluded with a foreign government.

“If what Bob Woodward says is true, the United States was essentially under a military dictatorship,” D’Souza continues. (Read more from “Dinesh D’Souza: Gen. Milley’s Actions Demonstrate the United States Was Essentially Under a Military Dictatorship” HERE)

WATCH: Pentagon Defends General Milley; Milley Should Spend More Time Studying Treason and Less Time Studying Critical Race Theory; Milley’s Team Defends Alleged ‘Secret’ Calls With China, Concern for Nuke Codes

By Townhall. Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby took the podium Wednesday amid a flurry of accusations about what Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley did under the administration of President Donald Trump and whether his actions constitute treason.

“I certainly can’t speak to the revelations that are coming out in the book” by Bob Woodward and Bob Costa, explained Kirby, directing the reporters to a previously released Pentagon statement.

But in spite of his repeated insistence he wasn’t going to speak to unconfirmed reports from a book the Pentagon hasn’t reviewed yet, Kirby had a lot to say about how normal, appropriate, and unconcerning Chairman Milley’s alleged actions were.

“What I can tell you is that it is not uncommon at all for the Department to continue to review security protocols particularly when it comes to our strategic deterrence capabilities… to make sure that they are still relevant,” said Kirby, who again claimed he was not speaking to the accusation that Milley took steps to prevent Trump from launching a nuclear strike and assured his Chinese counterpart that he would warn of any incoming American strike.

“It’s also completely appropriate — and again I’m not speaking to the validity of things that are in the book — but it is completely appropriate for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff… to want to see those protocols reviewed on whatever frequent basis that he wants to do that.”

Milley Should Spend More Time Studying Treason and Less Time Studying Critical Race Theory

By Washington Examiner. United States Army General and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley is either a liar, a traitor, or completely incompetent. Either way, it is becoming clear that he is part of the elitist swamp, inept at his job, and sabotaging U.S. national security interests.

Authors Bob Woodward and Robert Costa write that Milley made secret phone calls to Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army and informed him that he would notify him before the U.S would attack. If true, this is dangerous and should result in Milley losing his job.

It would be an overreaction to call Milley’s actions treasonous because of back-channel communications with a foe. President John F. Kennedy famously had back-channel communications with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The fact that Milley was communicating with Zuocheng is not the problem. The problem is, if Woodward’s accusations are true, Milley went behind the back of the commander in chief and offered to betray the U.S. by warning China of any attack. This would directly endanger the lives of the U.S. soldiers Milley commands. (Read more from “Milley Should Spend More Time Studying Treason and Less Time Studying Critical Race Theory” HERE)

Milley’s Team Defends Alleged ‘Secret’ Calls With China, Concern for Nuke Codes

By Fox News. A spokesperson for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley is defending allegations of “secret” calls with his Chinese counterpart, saying the conversations are “vital” to “reducing tensions” and “avoiding unintended consequences or conflict,” maintaining that the calls were coordinated with high-level defense officials.

“The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs regularly communicates with Chiefs of Defense across the world, including with China and Russia. These conversations remain vital to improving mutual understanding of U.S. national security interests, reducing tensions, providing clarity and avoiding unintended consequences or conflict,” Milley spokesman Col. Dave Butler said in a statement Wednesday.

Butler said that Milley’s calls “with the Chinese and others in October and January were in keeping with these duties and responsibilities conveying reassurance in order to maintain strategic stability.”

“All calls from the Chairman to his counterparts, including those reported, are staffed, coordinated and communicated with the Department of Defense and the interagency,” Butler said.

“Also in keeping with his responsibilities as senior military advisor to the President and Secretary of Defense, General Milley frequently conducts meetings with uniformed leaders across the Services to ensure all leaders are aware of current issues,” Butler continued. “The meeting regarding nuclear weapons protocols was to remind uniformed leaders in the Pentagon of the long-established and robust procedures in light of media reporting on the subject.” (Read more from “Milley’s Team Defends Alleged ‘Secret’ Calls With China, Concern for Nuke Codes” HERE)

After China Report, Calls for Gen. Milley To Resign Increase (VIDEO)

A key witness in the first impeachment of then-President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “must resign” if he is confirmed to have made secret calls to his Chinese counterpart in order to reassure Beijing that Trump would not order military action against the Communist superpower.

Retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a former member of the National Security Council, tweeted that if the calls were made, Milley “usurped civilian authority, broke Chain of Command, and violated the sacrosanct principle of civilian control over the military. . .

Details of the calls between Milley and Li Zuocheng, chief of the Joint Staff Department of Beijing’s Central Military Commission, were reported by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa of the Washington Post in their forthcoming book “Peril.” . . .

Vindman briefly gained notoriety in 2019 when he testified that he had raised concerns to his superiors about a July 25 call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in which the US president asked Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter over the younger Biden’s lucrative gig on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma. . .

Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the Ukraine affair and has described the July 25 conversation with Zelensky as a “perfect call.” (Read more from “After China Report, Calls for Gen. Milley To Resign Increase” HERE)

Trump on ‘Dumbass’ Milley: ‘Action Should Be Taken Immediately’ for Secret Calls With China; Milley’s Alleged Secret Calls to China Are Just Another Reason Americans Believe the System Is Rigged

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump castigated Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley in a statement on Tuesday, after a new book alleged he had taken secret action to limit the president’s authority in the wake of January 6 and told China that he would give them advance notice if the U.S. were to attack it. . .

Trump blasted Milley in his statement:

If the story of “Dumbass” General Mark Milley, the same failed leader who engineered the worst withdrawal from a country, Afghanistan, in U.S. history, leaving behind many dead and wounded soldiers, many American citizens, and $85 Billion worth of the newest and most sophisticated Military equipment in the world, and our Country’s reputation, is true, then I assume he would be tried for TREASON in that he would have been dealing with his Chinese counterpart behind the President’s back and telling China that he would be giving them notification “of an attack.” Can’t do that!

The good news is that the story is Fake News concocted by a weak and ineffective General together with two authors who I refused to give an interview to because they write fiction, not fact. Actions should be taken immediately against Milley, and better generals in our Military, of which we have many, should get involved so that another Afghanistan disaster never happens again. Remember, I was the one who took out 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. Milley said it couldn’t be done!

Milley’s Alleged Secret Calls to China Are Just Another Reason Americans Believe the System Is Rigged

By The Federalist. The Washington Post published extremely serious allegations against Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley yesterday, although of course the paper tried to make the centerpiece of the story former President Donald Trump’s erratic behavior.

From WaPo:

Fearful of Donald Trump’s actions in his final weeks as president, the United States’ top military officer twice called his Chinese counterpart to assure him that the two nations would not go to war, a senior defense official said Tuesday after the conversations were described in excerpts from a forthcoming book.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley told Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army that the United States would not strike. One call took place on Oct. 30, 2020, four days before the election that defeated Trump. The second call was on Jan. 8, 2021, just two days after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by supporters of the outgoing chief executive.

The story here, however, is not Trump, no matter how much the corrupt corporate media would have it be so. The story is that a military leader defied civilian control over the direction of America’s foreign policy, and did so through secret talks with our chief adversary on the global stage. Report: Civil War In Afghanistan Is ‘Likely’

Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, believes there’s a good chance of an Afghan civil war in the near future following the United States’s military withdrawal.

The U.S. ended the war in Afghanistan last week, leaving the Taliban in control of the country, though it’s too soon to tell if the terrorist organization will be able to field a functioning government.

“My military estimate is… that the conditions are likely to develop of a civil war,” Milley told Fox News . “I don’t know if the Taliban is going to [be] able to consolidate power and establish governance.”

“I think there’s at least a very good probability of a broader civil war and that will then, in turn, lead to conditions that could, in fact, lead to a reconstitution of al-Qaeda or a growth of ISIS or other myriad of terrorist groups,” he added. “You could see a resurgence of terrorism coming out of that general region within 12, 24, 36 months. And we’re going to monitor that.”

Various Biden administration officials and Pentagon top brass have said the military will work to combat the growth of terrorism in Afghanistan through “over the horizon” capabilities. However, the military will be at a disadvantage due to a lack of troops on the ground to help with intelligence. (Read more from “Report: Civil War In Afghanistan Is ‘Likely'” HERE)
