Jury Finds Meta and Google Negligent in Landmark Social Media Addiction Trial

A Los Angeles jury has found Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta and Google’s YouTube liable in a groundbreaking lawsuit concerning harm to children using their platforms, awarding $3 million in damages to a young woman who claims social media addiction during childhood worsened her mental health.

NBC News reports that in a precedent-setting verdict, jurors in the high profile social media addiction trial deliberated for more than 40 hours across nine days before determining that both Meta and YouTube were negligent in the design and operation of their platforms. The jury concluded that each company’s negligence was a substantial factor in causing harm to the plaintiff, a 20-year-old woman who testified that her childhood use of social media created an addiction to the technology and aggravated her mental health problems.

The multimillion-dollar award is expected to increase significantly, as jurors determined that the companies acted with malice or highly egregious conduct. This finding means the jury will soon hear additional evidence and return to deliberations to decide on punitive damages, which could substantially raise the total compensation.

Meta and Google-owned YouTube were the final two defendants remaining in the case after TikTok and Snap reached settlements before the trial commenced. The plaintiff, identified in court documents as KGM and referred to as Kaley by her legal team during proceedings, provided testimony alongside high-profile technology executives. Meta leaders Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Mosseri appeared as witnesses, while YouTube CEO Neal Mohan was not called to testify.

According to her testimony, Kaley started using YouTube when she was six years old and began using Instagram at age nine. She told jurors that she spent time on social media platforms all day long throughout her childhood. The legal team representing Kaley, headed by attorney Mark Lanier, was responsible for demonstrating that the negligence of the respective defendants was a substantial factor in causing harm to their client. Zuckerberg, Musk Pictured at Epstein’s ‘Wild’ Dinner With Other Billionaire CEOs After Conviction

A photo has emerged of Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg attending a “wild” California dinner party with infamous pedophile Jeffery Epstein years after he was convicted as a child sex offender.

The image, which was in the latest trove of documents released by the Department of Justice, shows Musk sitting at a table with the Facebook founder and others during the swanky Aug. 2, 2015 dinner that Epstein once boasted about attending.

Along with Musk and Zuckerberg, Epstein claimed in two separate emails that the guest list included other big names like PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

The first mention of the party appeared in an email between Epstein and embattled CBS News contributor Peter Attia, where the dead pedophile bragged about the upcoming dinner.

“Where are you? I might be in LA Monday, burbank to look at the interior of the other bbj, tonite dinner with Musk, Thiel, Zuckerburg,” Epstein wrote. (Read more from “Zuckerberg, Musk Pictured at Epstein’s ‘Wild’ Dinner With Other Billionaire CEOs After Conviction” HERE)

Tech Billionaires Seem to Be Doom Prepping. Should We All Be Worried?

Mark Zuckerberg is said to have started work on Koolau Ranch, his sprawling 1,400-acre compound on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, as far back as 2014.

It is set to include a shelter, complete with its own energy and food supplies, though the carpenters and electricians working on the site were banned from talking about it by non-disclosure agreements, according to a report by Wired magazine. . .

Asked last year if he was creating a doomsday bunker, the Facebook founder gave a flat “no”. The underground space spanning some 5,000 square feet is, he explained, “just like a little shelter, it’s like a basement”. . .

Then there is the speculation around other tech leaders, some of whom appear to have been busy buying up chunks of land with underground spaces, ripe for conversion into multi-million pound luxury bunkers.

Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, has talked about “apocalypse insurance”. This is something about half of the super-wealthy have, he has previously claimed, with New Zealand a popular destination for homes. (Read more from “Tech Billionaires Seem to Be Doom Prepping. ‘No Penalties’: Facebook Calls End to ‘Fact-Checking’ That Was Used to Censor Conservatives

Meta will shutter its fact-checking program across Facebook, Instagram and Threads on Monday, marking a major shift in the company’s content moderation strategy.

The announcement follows a January pledge by CEO Mark Zuckerberg to dial back censorship and restore “free speech” on Meta-owned platforms. Going forward, Meta will adopt a system modeled after X’s “Community Notes,” allowing users to affix context to posts with no penalties or content suppression — effectively ending the era of third-party fact-checkers rating and flagging information.

“By Monday afternoon, our fact-checking program in the US will be officially over,” Joel Kaplan, chief global affairs officer at Meta, wrote on X. “That means no new fact checks and no fact checkers. We announced in January we’d be winding down the program & removing penalties. In place of fact checks, the first Community Notes will start appearing gradually across Facebook, Threads & Instagram, with no penalties attached.”

The program’s demise comes after mounting backlash from conservatives who long accused Meta’s third-party fact-checking partners — including groups like PolitiFact and Lead Stories — of ideological bias and collusion with government agencies to suppress dissenting views. While Meta maintains those fact checkers operated independently, critics pointed to repeated incidents involving censorship of stories related to COVID-19, Hunter Biden’s laptop and election integrity.

Zuckerberg’s move to replace the fact-checking framework with Community Notes signals a significant break from the previous model. Similar to X’s system, Meta’s new feature allows verified users to write “notes” adding context to posts, which are then rated for helpfulness by a broader pool of users. If deemed useful by ideologically diverse raters, the note is published. (Read more from “‘No Penalties’: Facebook Calls End to ‘Fact-Checking’ That Was Used to Censor Conservatives” HERE)

Mark Zuckerberg Banned Tampons in Meta’s Male Bathrooms, Here’s What Happened Next

By Townhall. Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg’s decision to remove tampons from Meta’s male restrooms has prompted employees to take matters into their own hands as Zuckerberg turns to the right side. In contrast, his employees are stuck in the hamster wheel of the left’s progressive policies.

Zuckerberg has made a concerted effort to mend ties with President Donald Trump, beginning with a face-to-face meeting at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate and a $1 million donation to his inauguration fund. In the wake of that meeting, Zuckerberg rolled out a series of strategic shifts within Meta aimed at distancing the company from its previously entrenched left-leaning reputation. Meta Employees Take Matters Into Their Own Hands

By Christianna Silva. After tampons, liners, and pads were removed from men’s bathrooms earlier this month, they mysteriously reappeared — not through company policy, but through the quiet defiance of workers who brought in their own supplies. According to five anonymous sources cited by The New York Times, employees also circulated a petition calling for Meta to reinstate the amenities.

Meta, however, stood firm on its stance. The company reportedly responded it had “not been the intention of Meta leadership to make employees feel unwelcome or excluded in our offices, [but] at this point, we do not have plans to revisit our on-site amenities offerings.” Don’t worry, though — the feedback was shared with leadership. Zuckerberg’s Rebrand Of Facebook’s Role In Biden Censorship Scheme Refuted In Facebook Files

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is on a mission to give Facebook’s key role in the censorship industrial complex a makeover, but his attempts to save face one alleged fact-checking policy change and tampon at a time flounder in the face of the evidence.

The Silicon Valley bro’s attempt to drastically shift Facebook away from the radical policies that have defined its presence in the Big Tech world while the second Trump administration takes over the federal government is no coincidence. Zuckerberg even took a page out of President Donald Trump’s playbook by going on the number one podcast in the world, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” to explain the alleged end to the Big Tech company’s partisan “fact-checking” program he announced earlier this month.

One of the most newsworthy moments of the episode occurred when Zuckerberg admitted to host Joe Rogan that members of the Biden administration “would call up our team and like scream at them and curse” demanding censorship of content, including memes, that it claimed undermined the regime’s Covid-19 vaccine agenda.

According to the Facebook founder, the employees on Meta’s censorship team rejected and even pushed back on the Democrat regime’s pressure to remove posts and “take down humor and satire.”

“It basically just got to this point where we were like ‘No, we’re not going to take down things that are true. That’s ridiculous,’” Zuckerberg said. (Read more from “Zuckerberg’s Rebrand Of Facebook’s Role In Biden Censorship Scheme Refuted In Facebook Files” HERE)

Mark Zuckerberg Exposes Alarming Details About Biden Admin’s Social Media Influence (VIDEO)

META founder Mark Zuckerberg has made headlines after revealing startling details about the Biden Administration’s influence on social media platforms, and in a recent interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, the Facebook CEO admitted that the Biden government had pressured his company to crack down on certain types of content, particularly around the 2020 election and the COVID-19 pandemic. Zuckerberg’s comments have reignited debates over the extent of government involvement in regulating speech on private platforms, raising questions about the balance between national security concerns, free speech, and corporate influence in the digital age.

Zuckerberg revealed that the Biden Administration often treated its employees poorly when seeking to remove certain Facebook content. He told Rogan that the outgoing president’s staffers would yell and demand content be censored—even over things deemed accurate.

“Basically, these people from the Biden administration would call up our team and, like, scream at them and curse,” Zuckerberg said. “It just got to this point where we were like, ‘No, we’re not gonna, we’re not gonna take down things that are true. That’s ridiculous.’”

The META CEO, who made liberal’s heads turn after congratulating President-elect Donald Trump on his historic win, revealed that when the Biden Administration was trying to push out its vaccine program, the government attempted to censor anyone who argued against it.

“They pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly, were true,” he continued. “They basically pushed us and said, you know, that ‘anything saying that says vaccines might have side effects, you basically need to take down.’ And I was just like ‘We’re not going to do that, we’re clearly not going to do that, I mean that is kind of inarguably true.”

Mark Zuckerberg Meets With Trump in Fla., Parks Private Jet Next to President-Elect’s Plane

Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg parked his private jet right next to Trump Force One Friday during a visit to Palm Beach, Fla., to meet with the incoming 47th president.

Zuckerberg, 40, was dressed up in a fitted suit and tie when he was spotted boarding his Gulfstream G650 jet at Palm Beach International Airport.

The tech titan’s jet was parked in the shadows of President-elect Donald Trump’s much larger, custom Boeing 757 aircraft, which he’ll trade in for Air Force One in less than two weeks.

Earlier in the day, the billionaire Facebook founder met with Trump at his nearby Mar-a-Lago estate, a source told The Post.

It’s at least the second time Zuckerberg has convened with Trump, 78, at Mar-a-Lago since the president-elect’s landslide victory in the 2024 presidential election. (Read more from “Mark Zuckerberg Meets With Trump in Fla., Parks Private Jet Next to President-Elect’s Plane” HERE)

Mark Zuckerberg Promises Less Censorship on Facebook as He Scraps Biased Third-Party ‘Fact Checkers’

Mark Zuckerberg has announced major changes to Meta’s content moderation policies and practices on Facebook and Instagram, citing a desire to embrace free speech and avoid censorship. Zuckerberg’s changes begin with scrapping Facebook’s third-party “fact check” system which is notorious for its leftist bias.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, is undergoing a major overhaul of its content moderation practices. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Tuesday that the company will end its fact-checking program, plagued by severe leftist bias, and replace it with a community-driven system similar to X’s Community Notes. The changes come as a response to what Zuckerberg perceives as a “cultural tipping point” towards prioritizing speech, influenced by the recent elections.

In his video, Zuckerberg states: “We’re going to get back to our roots and focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies and restoring free expression on our platforms. More specifically, here’s what we’re going to do. First, we’re going to get rid of fact checkers and replace them with community notes similar to X, starting in the U.S.”

In a press release, Joel Kaplan, Meta’s Chief Global Affairs Officer, stated, “Meta’s platforms are built to be places where people can express themselves freely. That can be messy. On platforms where billions of people can have a voice, all the good, bad and ugly is on display. But that’s free expression.” (Read more from “Mark Zuckerberg Promises Less Censorship on Facebook as He Scraps Biased Third-Party ‘Fact Checkers’” HERE)

Here’s Why Mark Zuckerberg Had Dinner With Trump At Mar-a-Lago

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence to seemingly brown-nose the soon-to-be commander-in-chief to reportedly be a part of Trump’s revolutionary change in the United States.

Despite lying to Congress about censoring conservatives, Zuckerberg visited Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida home on Wednesday to be a part of his “reform movement” that the incoming administration is leading.

Trump adviser Stephen Miller confirmed Trump and Zuckerberg’s meeting, saying that the Facebook founder views Trump’s second term as a chance at “national renewal” in the country. He said that although Zuckerberg has his own company and his own agenda, he “understands that President Trump is an agent of change, an agent of prosperity.”

A Meta spokesperson said that Zuckerberg was “grateful” to be invited to Mar-a-Lago for dinner to meet with Trump.

“It’s an important time for the future of American Innovation. Mark was grateful for the invitation to join President Trump for dinner and the opportunity to meet with members of his team about the incoming Administration,” the spokesperson said.
