Dan Bongino Returns to Civilian Life by Trading Brutal Insults With Ex-Lawmaker Matt Gaetz: ‘Piece of S***’

Former deputy FBI director Dan Bongino returned to his life as a conservative content creator this week and kicked things off by getting into a profanity-filled argument with former congressman Matt Gaetz on X.

The two MAGA-affiliated media personalities began trading barbs at one another Tuesday morning, after Gaetz undermined Bongino’s political credentials by asking Grok, X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, to recount Bongino’s three unsuccessful congressional elections.

“Maybe if I spent more time at shady parties with monied insiders I would’ve won. I heard you’d know a bit about that. You’ve always been a d*** by the way,” Bongino responded to Gaetz. “Grifting off your daddy like a suckling little doggie. When I first met you in the panhandle I knew you were a piece of s***. It’s written all over that phony face of yours,” he added.

Bongino’s harsh insult kicked off a series of exchanges between the two that lasted through the afternoon.

Gaetz told Bongino to “take a chill pill,” Bongino referenced accusations of Gaetz being antisemitic, Gaetz reminded Bongino that he once endorsed him, and Bongino maintained his belief that Gaetz is “a d***.” (Read more from “Dan Bongino Returns to Civilian Life by Trading Brutal Insults With Ex-Lawmaker Matt Gaetz: ‘Piece of S***’” HERE)

Democrats Ramp Up Their Criticism of Tulsi Gabbard

Now that former congressman Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is no longer a threat to Democrats, they are on to the next one in President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet.

On Sunday, Democrat Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) warned viewers on CNN that former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is “compromised” and is like a “Russian asset.”

Host Dana Bash asked Duckworth, who served with Gabbard in the House, what she thought of the former Democrat, accusing her of promoting Russian propaganda.

“Well, I think she’s compromised,” Duckworth began. “I think by going to Syria and basically um, backing you know, a brutal dictator there. I mean Russian controlled media called her a Russian asset. So I do think that we have a real deep concern whether or not she’s a compromised person.”

She claimed that the U.S. Intelligence community has identified Gabbard of having “troubling relationships with America’s foes,” accusing her of not being able to pass a background check. (Read more from “Democrats Ramp Up Their Criticism of Tulsi Gabbard” HERE)

The GOP Establishment Is A Greater Threat To Trump’s Agenda Than Democrats

Matt Gaetz withdrew his name from consideration for attorney general on Thursday. It was an early setback for President-elect Donald Trump that confirms the greatest threat to his agenda isn’t Democrats, but establishment Republicans.

Apparently there were at least four GOP senators staunchly opposed to confirming Gaetz as attorney general: Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and John Curtis of Utah. Assuming all Democrat senators voted against him, that would have put Gaetz one vote shy of confirmation.

The corporate media, along with a cadre of Never Trump commentators on the right, boasted about the defeat of Gaetz’s nomination, citing widely discredited sexual allegations against him as evidence that he was unfit to lead the Justice Department. Never mind that those allegations have always been comically thin.

Indeed, as my colleague Mollie Hemingway laid out in these pages recently, the entire campaign to smear Gaetz as a “child sex trafficker” was from the outset a giant psy-op and fraud. After an 18-month investigation by the Biden Justice Department, no charges were filed against Gaetz because the two central witnesses in the probe had serious credibility problems.

But that didn’t stop House Democrats from launching an ethics probe that relied on these same sources and their unsubstantiated claims about Gaetz. They dragged their probe out for more than a year as part of an ongoing effort to sideline and silence Gaetz, who had been one of the most effective voices in Congress calling out the corruption of the Justice Department. Matt Gaetz Is Withdrawing His Name From Consideration for Attorney General

Firebrand former to future Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to be the nation’s attorney general and was expected to take a hammer to the weaponized processes the Department of Justice implemented under Joe Biden, has withdrawn his name from that nomination.

Gaetz said, “I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.

“I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I’m certain he will Save America.”

Trump responded, “I greatly appreciate the recent efforts of Matt Gaetz in seeking approval to be Attorney General. He was doing very well but, at the same time, did not want to be a distraction for the Administration, for which he has much respect. Matt has a wonderful future, and I look forward to watching all of the great things he will do!” (Read more from “Matt Gaetz Is Withdrawing His Name From Consideration for Attorney General” HERE)

House Ethics Panel Does Not Agree to Release Report on Matt Gaetz

The House Ethics Panel has not agreed to release the report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), according to reports.

Following Wednesday’s meeting, Michael Guest (R-MS), Chairman of the House Committee on Ethics, told reporters that the committee did not reach an agreement to release the highly anticipated report on Gaetz, who resigned from Congress after President-elect Donald Trump tapped him to serve as Attorney General.

“There was not an agreement by the committee to release the report,” Guest said, according to Politico.

According to reports, many members refrained from providing details to the press. Others indicate that the report is still not completed and that they plan to finish it and meet again in December.

The evenly split committee would only need one Republican vote to make the release a reality. Notably, now that Gaetz is no longer a member of Congress, he is no longer subject to the committee’s orbit. (Read more from “House Ethics Panel Does Not Agree to Release Report on Matt Gaetz” HERE)

Disturbing Charge: Woman Told Ethics Panel That Matt Gaetz Had Sex With Her When She Was 17 — As Bipartisan Calls Grow To Release House Report

The key figure in a Justice Department investigation into sex trafficking allegations involving Matt Gaetz told the House Ethics Committee that the former congressman had sex with her when she was 17 years old, according to a report.

The woman, who is now in her 20s, was subpoenaed by the ethics panel over the summer and testified that Gaetz had sex with her when she was a minor and still in high school, ABC News reported on Thursday. . .

“These allegations are invented and would constitute false testimony to Congress,” Gaetz said in a statement provided to The Post. “This false smear following a three-year criminal investigation should be viewed with great skepticism.”

The DOJ informed Gaetz last year that it would not bring charges against him related to the probe, but the House Ethics Committee has been running a separate investigation into the former congressman, who abruptly resigned from Congress Wednesday after being nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as attorney general.

The ethics committee was reportedly set to vote Friday on whether to release its findings in the Gaetz probe, according to Punchbowl News. Could This Be the Real Reason Why Trump Nominated Matt Gaetz As Attorney General?

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has been nominated to be our next attorney general. It’s triggered all the right people, as he would take a baseball bat to the Department of Justice. It’s a clear sign that the era of gangster antics from the rogue officials and agents here is over. Gaetz is indeed the king of controversy. He wallows in it so that this confirmation fight will be bloody. It just is since there are more than enough squishy Republicans who could make this fight a slog.

There have been many theories as to why Gaetz was selected. Is it 4-D chess? Is it a ploy to get Gaetz to resign from Congress? He did so yesterday, according to House Speaker Mike Johnson. Even Politico thought the ploy of Gaetz leaving would make it easier for Trump to select who he really wants to be a stretch. Yet, it might be one massive loyalty test (via Politico):

Once Gaetz’s selection was announced, the chatter among top Republicans on Capitol Hill quickly turned to four questions:

1. Was Trump aware of the coming Ethics report on its Gaetz investigation?

The committee was planning to vote Friday on whether to release the report, as Punchbowl first reported. But if “Gaetz is no longer a member of the House, the report likely won’t be formally released,” as Olivia Beavers and Jordain Carney report.

Frankly, it seems implausible to us that this won’t come out — if not on Friday, then during Gaetz’s confirmation hearings (assuming, of course, that Trump doesn’t try to end-run around those with recess appointments to the Cabinet). The House leaks like a sieve, and the Senate Judiciary Committee is definitely going to want to see at least the underlying evidence in the report.

2. Is this for real?

Pretty much every Hill Republican we spoke with thinks there’s something strange going on here. One theory we heard over and over from bewildered Republicans is that perhaps by picking him, Trump is giving Gaetz an out from the Ethics report (which seems possible), and that Gaetz is returning the favor by becoming a sacrificial lamb who will ease the way for Trump’s eventual pick for AG (which seems like a stretch).

A separate theory we heard goes like this: Maybe Gaetz is resigning only from this Congress — so as to stymie the Ethics probe for now — with an intent to be seated for the next Congress come January. We find that very hard to believe, both because it doesn’t sound like it would realistically slow the Ethics report’s release, and because House Speaker MIKE JOHNSON has already spoken to Florida Gov. RON DeSANTIS about holding a special election right away — which there would be no need for if Gaetz were planning to be seated in January.

Trump Makes Shock Pick For Attorney General

President-elect Donald Trump announced via a TruthSocial post that he would be nominating Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz to be his attorney general.

Trump wrote in a social media post that Gaetz is a “deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law” who will end the “Weaponized Government.”

“Matt is a deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice,” Trump wrote in the TruthSocial post.

“Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan Weaponization of our Justice System. Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department,” he added.

GOP Rep.: There Are 5 Assassination Teams on U.S. Soil Targeting Trump

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz has voiced serious concerns regarding the level of protection around former President Donald Trump, citing information from a senior official at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

According to Gaetz, the official revealed that there are five known assassination teams in the United States, three of which are believed to be inspired by foreign governments and two that are domestic.

“A senior Homeland Security official I met with said that they were aware of at least FIVE teams in the country—three foreign in nature and two domestic—that are geared toward assassinating President Trump,” said Gaetz.

Gaetz stated that prior to the second assassination attempt against Trump, DHS officials had already expressed concern over the insufficiency of force protection around the former president.

“The coordination at the dignitary protection level was at the bare minimum required to keep our presidents and presidential candidates safe while on the trail,” said Gaetz. (Read more from “GOP Rep.: There Are 5 Assassination Teams on U.S. Soil Targeting Trump” HERE)

REVEALED: DOJ Freaked Out After Matt Gaetz Brought Up Hunter’s Laptop During Hearing

Employees at the Department of Justice (DOJ) sent an email in March 2022 regarding Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz’s line of questioning to the assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI’s) cyber division about Hunter Biden’s laptop, according to documents uploaded by the DOJ.

During the March 2022 hearing, Gaetz entered Hunter Biden’s laptop into the Congressional record and pressed the FBI on the location of Hunter Biden’s laptop, to which he did not get an answer. Gaetz also asked if the Biden family had been compromised and if anyone at the FBI knew where the laptop was located.

During Gaetz’s line of questioning, an employee at the DOJ sent an email that said: “Now Matt Gaetz asking Hunter Biden laptop questions. Wow.”
