Rep. Matt Gaetz Boasts About Turning Congress Into a ‘Living Hell’ for Republicans Who ‘Dress up Like Democrats in Drag’

Rep. Matt Gaetz boasted Friday about turning Congress into a “living hell” for “swamp rat” Republicans that act “like Democrats in drag” during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

“In Congress, I’m often excoriated, smeared, derided for exposing a corrupt system that has been weaponized against we the people,” the Florida Republican said.

“I have made it a living hell for the swamp rats, and many of them are retiring now.”

Gaez went on to revel in a report suggesting that his successful push to oust Kevin McCarthy from his House speakership position last October has contributed to a growing number of congressional Republicans deciding to retire early rather than seek re-election in 2024.

“You’re welcome,” he told the hard-line conservative crowd. (Read more from “Rep. Matt Gaetz Boasts About Turning Congress Into a ‘Living Hell’ for Republicans Who ‘Dress up Like Democrats in Drag’” HERE)

House Ethics Committee Widens Investigation Into Matt Gaetz

The House Ethics Committee is reportedly expanding its investigation into Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), reaching out to multiple new witnesses with ties to the initial Justice Department (DOJ) investigation. The Republican-led Committee, initially focused on possible lobbying violations by Gaetz, is now delving into the “sex trafficking investigation” involving the Florida congressman, according to an ABC News report.

The Committee’s outreach to individuals linked to the DOJ’s criminal investigation signals a shift in the probe’s scope. Gaetz responded to the report, stating, “It’s great to see the Ethics Committee has interests beyond trading stocks. They seem to be quite the unusual whales.” The Committee had reopened its investigation in July 2023 after the DOJ requested a delay in the initial probe, which concluded without charges against Gaetz.

The congressman, known for his outspoken nature, emphasized that he was cleared by the DOJ and the FBI, who scrutinized his life for years. Gaetz expressed his belief that the House Ethics Committee is attempting to weaponize its process against him, citing his role as a vocal advocate for addressing national debt and spending issues.

Gaetz asserted, “I’ve never been found to have violated any ethical laws. I won’t be found to have violated them in this matter either.” However, with the Ethics Committee broadening its inquiry and venturing into the sex trafficking allegations, the congressman’s challenges seem to be intensifying.

McCarthy Screams at Gaetz as Fellow GOP Rep ‘Almost Lunged at Him’

The Republican conference meeting grew heated following the announcement that Rep Jim Jordan is relaunching his campaign for the gavel after putting a pause on his speakership bid.

Rep Kevin McCarthy, the recently ousted speaker, reportedly screamed at Rep Matt Gaetz, who brought the motion to vacate against Mr McCarthy earlier this month, to sit down and Rep Michael Bost was seen “almost lunging at him,” a person who was in the room told Axios.

Mr Jordan backtracked on a pause on his speakership bid on Thursday (19 October), announcing in the afternoon that the members of the House GOP had rejected a temporary solution to empower interim speaker Patrick McHenry until January.

“We made the pitch to members on the resolution as a way to lower the temperature and get back to work. We decided that wasn’t where we’re gonna go. I’m still running for speaker and I plan to go the floor and get the votes and win this race,” he said, according to the Washington Examiner.

According to Punchbowl News, Majority Whip Tom Emmer said: “As I have made very clear over the last few days, we should never allow a Democrat-backed coalition government. Ever. The only coalition we should be looking to build is a Republican coalition uniting all of our conference.” (Read more from “McCarthy Screams at Gaetz as Fellow GOP Rep ‘Almost Lunged at Him’” HERE)

‘Shouldn’t Be in the GOP’: House Republicans Slam Matt Gaetz, Others Who Voted Out Kevin McCarthy

Several House Republicans slammed Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and other conservatives for voting to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday.

The House voted 216 to 210 adopting the motion to vacate the speaker filed by Gaetz after McCarthy led the chamber in passing a 47-day continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown over the weekend. Republican Reps. Don Bacon of Nebraska, Dan Crenshaw of Texas, Mike Collins of Georgia and Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin, who all voted against the motion, criticized the eight GOP members who voted with Democrats to remove McCarthy from the speakership.

“I’d love to have (Gaetz) out of the conference,” Bacon told CNN’s Annie Grayer following the vote. “He shouldn’t be in the GOP Party.”

Rep. Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, who also voted against McCarthy’s ouster, told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he expects there will be an effort to expel Gaetz, as well.

“If you’re voting with every single Democrat in the House to oust a Republican Speaker, it’s not about winning for your constituents. It’s not about winning for conservatives. Based on all the fundraising emails we are seeing, it’s only about personal attention,” Crenshaw wrote in a tweet. “There are people who fight for you, and people who fight for your attention. Big difference.” (Read more from “‘Shouldn’t Be in the GOP’: House Republicans Slam Matt Gaetz, Others Who Voted Out Kevin McCarthy” HERE)

Matt Gaetz Files Motion to Remove Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida filed a motion Monday to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy from his position.

Gaetz had vowed to bring such a “motion to vacate the chair” following Congress’ rapid enactment of a continuing resolution on Saturday to avoid a government shutdown, which was supported in the House by Democrats and moderate Republicans but opposed by GOP conservatives. Gaetz has argued that McCarthy’s decision to accept Democratic support breached an agreement reached in January, which led to his speakership after 15 rounds of voting, as well as claimed that he engaged in a “secret side deal” with President Joe Biden to fund Ukraine’s war effort against Russia, which he and other House Republicans have opposed, leading him to file a motion to vacate the chair on Monday.

“Resolved, the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives is hereby declared to be vacant,” Gaetz read from his privileged resolution at the conclusion of Monday’s votes.

Matt Gaetz Will Make His Move Against Kevin McCarthy: Report

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) will make his move against Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday, according to congressional reporter Annie Karni.

Gaetz has been at odds with McCarthy since the January battle for the Speaker’s chair. His group of lawmakers fought against McCarthy in the post, only agreeing to withdraw their opposition after some concessions.

“Gaetz plans to deliver a floor speech laying out a detailed case against McCarthy,” said Karni. “He isn’t expected to call for a motion to vacate, but he is laying the groundwork for a potential move to oust him if things reach that point.”

Last week, Gaetz (R-Fla.) on Tuesday dialed up pressure on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca.), demanding he move forward with impeachment whether other lawmakers were ready or not. (Read more from “Matt Gaetz Will Make His Move Against Kevin McCarthy: Report” HERE)

Gaetz Caps off Grilling of FBI Director With Last-Second Zinger

By Daily Caller. Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz slammed FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday for allegedly failing to uphold his duties as a director.

Wray was testifying at the Oversight Committee when Gaetz began questioning him about text messages allegedly sent from Hunter Biden to a Chinese business associate that mentioned President Joe Biden.

Wray refused to comment on the alleged texts, prompting Gaetz to ask whether Wray was protecting the Biden family.

“You seem deeply uncurious about it, almost suspiciously uncurious. Are you protecting the Biden’s?”

“Absolutely not,” Wray said, with Gaetz again pushing that Wray should at least acknowledge or answer the question. Gaetz then asked how many illegal FISA inquiries have occurred since Wray has been in charge, noting the Inspector General reported more than one million were in error. Gaetz then said the court said the number was actually around 200,000. Wray said he did not know the answer or correct number. ‘Are You Protecting the Bidens?’ Matt Gaetz Goes on Rampage Against Chris Wray in Explosive Hearing Showdown

By Mediaite. Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) didn’t waste a second to throw accusations at FBI Director Chris Wray during his hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.

Wray, on Wednesday, has already faced several of his harshest critics — as his committee appearance was set to address claims about the alleged two-tiered justice system in America and the weaponization of federal law enforcement against conservatives. Gaetz kicked off his questioning with the alleged WhatsApp message of Hunter Biden invoking his father’s name and demanding payment from his Chinese business associate. . .

The confrontation moved on to Gaetz interrogating Wray over the FBI’s alleged FISA abuses, which coincides with Gaetz’s push for Congress to not renew the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Gaetz also cast perjury accusations at Wray before proclaiming “the FBI has broken so bad that people can go and engage in queries that when you come before the Congress to answer questions, you’re, like, you’re blissfully ignorant” about the FBI supposedly “using the FISA process as their creepy personal snoop machine.” (Read more from “‘Are You Protecting the Bidens?’ Matt Gaetz Goes on Rampage Against Chris Wray in Explosive Hearing Showdown” HERE)

Matt Gaetz Rolls Out ‘Inside Job’ Theory in Defense of Biden: Classified Documents Were Planted (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden received full-throated defense over the classified document controversy from a curious place Thursday: proud Ultra-MAGA Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz appearing on Fox News.

The Deep State and Biden’s own “democrat lawyers” are to blame for Biden’s classified document possession, Gaetz suggested during an appearance on The Ingraham Angle, suggesting a bizarre conspiracy theory that this was an inside job. And in case this idea was lost on Fox News viewers, “Inside Job” was included in a lower third even before Gaetz suggested as much.

Biden said Thursday he has “no regrets” about his handling of classified documents and told reporters there is nothing scandalous about the situation. “I think you’re gonna find there’s nothing there,” Biden said. “I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no ‘there’ there.”

“Well, things in Washington aren’t always what they seem,” Gaetz opened. “Consider this. It was Joe Biden’s Democrat personal lawyer that was rummaging around his stuff, looking for what? Evidence of a crime that his septuagenarian client committed nine years ago?” You see, Biden is too old to have masterminded a classified document caper, Gaetz suggested. Federal Judge Raises Questions About Why Intelligence Operative Not Charged in Gaetz Extortion Scheme

The federal judge presiding over the case of the extortion scheme targeting Rep. Matt Gaetz’s father raised questions as to why an intelligence operative involved in the crime hasn’t been charged, according to court transcripts.

In the sentencing hearing for long-time con man Stephen Alford, who was charged in the Gaetz extortion case and sentenced to five years in prison, federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers questioned why former military intelligence officer and State Department contractor Bob Kent — who was involved in virtually every step of the crime — was not charged as well, saying she disagrees that there isn’t the evidence for it (emphasis added):

Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: Is that why he’s here but no one else is here in terms of charges —
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Goldberg: He is here because he is the only —
Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: Excuse me — in terms of the charges in this case?
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Goldberg: No. He is here because he is the only one the government has evidence committed a crime.
Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: Okay.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Goldberg: I don’t think the government, certainly not me, has ever asserted differently.
Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: It seems like Mr. Gaetz might think differently.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Goldberg: He might. He’s not a prosecutor.
Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: No, and I’m not either, and I’m not going to tell you how to do your job. I just am questioning why maybe he’s the only one here and it seems like it’s his criminal history to me, but that’s just my —
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Goldberg: The government has no evidence that Mr. McGee or Mr. Kent committed a crime that is provable. Otherwise, the government would have considered conspiracy charges which it did not charge; it charged substantive counts of wire fraud.
Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: I don’t think you have evidence, I would agree with you, as far as Mr. McGee. I’m not so sure about Mr. Kent.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Goldberg: Well, Mr. Kent —
Federal Judge Margaret Casey Rodgers: But I don’t make those decisions.

Bob Kent is a former Air Force intelligence officer who has admitted to soliciting Don Gaetz for $25 million, which he claimed would be to free Robert Levinson, an American held captive by Iran. That claim was included in the litigation, but part of the deal was the offer of a pardon. WATCH: FBI Cyber Chief CAN’T FIND Hunter Biden’s Laptop

By Daily Mail. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) got into a heated spat over the whereabouts of Hunter Biden’s laptop during a House Judiciary hearing on oversight of the FBI’s Cyber Division on Tuesday.

The Republican firebrand used his allotted time to grill the division’s assistant director Bryan Vorndran, who repeatedly told Gaetz he didn’t have any information on where the hard drive belonging to President Joe Biden’s son is currently located.

At one point Gaetz tried to enter the hard drive into the Congressional record but was blocked by House Judiciary Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), who changed his mind a short while later.

‘Sir, I’m not here to talk about the laptop. I’m here to talk about the FBI’s cyber program,’ Vorndran told Gaetz after the lawmaker asked where it was. . .

‘You are the assistant director of FBI cyber. I want to know where Hunter Biden’s laptop is. Where is it?’ he pressed. (Read more from “FBI Cyber Chief Can’t Find Hunter Biden’s Laptop” HERE)

‘Today Is Just a Small Taste’: Grassley Drops New Hunter Biden Documents

By Townhall. Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Chuck Grassley took to the Senate floor Tuesday night to give “a little taste” of new information about Hunter Biden’s deep business and family ties to communist China.

“Today, Senator Johnson and I will begin our series of speeches on our investigation into the Biden Family’s financial deals,” Grassley said. “We’ll refute and dismantle the talking point that the liberal media and our Democratic colleagues pushed on the American people: That our investigation advanced and spread Russian disinformation.”

Using posters displaying documents, Grassley connected the dots right to Hunter’s bank account.
