Trump Attends UFC 299 With Daughter Ivanka After Georgia Rally

Former President Donald Trump appeared at UFC 299 in Miami on Saturday after holding a campaign rally in Georgia.

With rock star Kid Rock‘s “American Badass” playing, Trump walked into the Kaseya Center alongside UFC CEO Dana White to loud cheers.

A fan of UFC and having attended various fights over the years, Trump was joined at Saturday’s event by his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner. A number of fights took place in the octagon, including Sean O’Malley defeating Marlon “Chito” Vera in the main event.

According to a Bloomberg reporter, at one point of the event, the crowd chanted “F*** Joe Biden.”

The former president posed for a photo with NFL players Nick Bosa and Joe Burrow. He was also seen shaking hands with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and former ESPN host Sage Steele.

Democrat Forgets the Pledge of Allegiance at First Public Meeting

A local Democrat forgot the Pledge of Allegiance in her first meeting as a Miami city commissioner last week.

Sabina Covo, who was elected as the Miami City District 2 commissioner on Feb. 27 in a special election, went blank-faced during the March 9 meeting after being asked to recite the pledge.

“And now, Commissioner Covo, will you lead us in the pledge of allegiance, please?” she is asked in front of the room.

“You don’t know it? Ok,” the commission’s chairwoman whispered to Covo.

Mass Shooting Reported at Restaurant Where Major Rapper Was Filming Music Video

Nearly a dozen people were shot at a restaurant in Miami Thursday night where rapper French Montana was shooting a music video at the time.

7 News Miami reported that Miami Gardens Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the scene at The Licking soul food restaurant around 8 p.m. where there were reportedly a total of 10 victims. Miami School Board Rejects Recognizing ‘LGBTQ History Month’

The Miami-Dade School Board overwhelmingly voted to reject recognizing October as “LGBTQ History Month.”

After listening to three hours of heated debate, the board voted 8-1 Wednesday evening to strike down the measure that would also have included teaching 12th graders about Supreme Court cases Obergefell v. Hodges (inventing the constitutional right to gay marriage) and Bostock v. Clayton County (adding a “sexual orientation” protection to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964).

Last year, the board voted 7-1 in favor of defining October as “LGBTQ History Month,” something that did not include teaching about Obergefell or Bostock.

The lone vote in favor was school board member Lucia Baez Geller, who proffered the measure.

“There is an election year and the anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric is a tool used by some to spread misinformation,” she said, according to the Miami Herald. “This is just plain disinformation.” (Read more from “Miami School Board Rejects Recognizing ‘LGBTQ History Month’” HERE)

COVID-Sniffing Dogs at Miami Airport Have 99 Percent Accuracy

Two COVID-sniffing dogs in Miami International Airport’s latest pilot program are reportedly more than 99 percent accurate at detecting the virus in their training.

Last week, a pair of dogs, named Cobra and One Betta, who were trained at the Forensic and Justice Center at Florida International University, began a 30-day program where they would detect COVID-19 among airport employees and alert when the virus is detected in a sniff test.

“We trained these dogs just using face coverings from patients, who, at a hospital, have COVID and those who do not,” Florida International University’s Kenneth Furton told CNN’s New Day on Monday.

Man Allegedly Shoots at Mother and Son After Screaming at Them to Social Distance

Police have arrested a man who allegedly fired shots into a Miami Beach hotel lobby’s floor after he told a mother and her son to practice social distancing at a Miami Beach hotel.

Miami Beach Police arrested 47-year-old Douglas Marks at the Crystal Beach Suites Hotel, along the 6900 block of Collins Avenue, Monday night.

“The guy came and started shooting,” a witness said. “The son and the mom were, like, crying, and they were scared.” . . .

According to a police report, the man was enraged that a mother and child were not social distancing. Detectives said the mother and son angered the man enough for him to allegedly fire gunshots into the lobby’s floor.

Miami Reporter Missing in Politically Collapsed Venezuela

WPLG Local 10 News in Miami, Florida lost their contributor in Venezuela Wednesday.

Cody Weddle’s sister, Kelsey McMahan, told Bristol Herald Courier that she believes the country’s authorities arrested him at 8 a.m. that morning after raiding his home in Caracas. Their mother, Sherry Weddle, said that the U.S. Embassy contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but have yet to hear back. She last contacted her son Tuesday on Facebook messenger.

“[I heard from him at] maybe about 6 or 7 yesterday evening and yesterday morning about 10,” Sherry Weddle told CNN. “I asked him how he was doing. He said he was fine and wanted to know how I was.” . . .

Weddle lived in Venezuela since June 2014, covering the economic turmoil, political struggle and humanitarian crisis in the area. One of his recent articles detailed the growing deadlock between political opposition leader Juan Guaido and President Nicolas Maduro as the National Assembly brought in a new board of directors for their oil sector. The new faces of the board consist of people who will give the opposition side more say in Venezuela’s government. . .

Watch: Trump-Hating Former Porn Star Engages in Shootout With Cops

Security footage released by prosecutors on Wednesday shows the shootout between a former porn star and cops that occurred earlier this year in Miami.

On May 18, 2018, Jonathan Oddi, a former adult film actor, broke into the Trump National Doral Miami resort and began pacing, barefoot, in the lobby. Witnesses to the event said Oddi was “making disparaging remarks about” President Donald Trump, according to NBC.

Oddi, 42 can be seen in the footage dragging a large American flag with him and holding a gun. He unfurls the flag on the resort’s concierge desk and angrily shoves a cannister off the end of the desk.

The footage then shows him leaning against that desk and putting on socks before spreading out the flag and attempting to reach the security camera. Oddi unfurls the flag some more and smashes the resort’s front desk computers before police arrive outside.

At first, Oddi puts the gun down and puts his arms in the air, but then picks the gun up and begins shooting at the officers, using the desk as cover. After some back-and-forth shooting, Oddi takes off into the hotel, still firing. He briefly slips on the hotel’s floors as officers pursue. He then runs up a flight of stairs and knocks over some furniture before an officer is able to arrest him.

Here’s How Much Miami’s New Restroom for the Homeless Cost – Complete With Needle Exchange

By The Blaze. Homeless advocates are praising Miami for the installation of the first public restroom in the downtown area – complete with a needle exchange. . .

The $300,000 project was spearheaded by the Downtown Development Authority, a “semi-autonomous tax-funded agency.” . . .

The restroom will be open 12 hours a day, and will have attendants during those hours hired from a Miami homeless shelter.

The city is gearing up to end an agreement to protect the homeless from law enforcement, and the bathroom is one way to manage the homeless population as they pursue the new policy.

The agreement came as a result from a lawsuit by the ACLU that accused police of acting unconstitutionally when arresting homeless people for “life-sustaining” activities like urinating in public or sleeping on a sidewalk. Seattle Homeless-Services Providers See Mixed Results, Some to Face Penalties

By The Seattle Times. eattle homeless-service providers are helping more homeless people off the streets this year than last, but 35 percent fell short of new performance targets in their contracts, according to data released on Friday.

City officials said Friday that Seattle would impose financial penalties for missing contracted goals intended to boost the number of people who found “permanent exits” from homelessness, ending months of speculation among service providers, some of which have previously asked city officials to reconsider how performance figures are calculated. . .

Earlier this year, the city announced $34 million in new contract awards, marking the first time homeless-services contracts were competitively rebid in a decade. In another important development, the city tied pay to performance and set an ambitious goal to double the number of people who would be moved out of homelessness and into permanent housing. All told, Seattle has planned to spend more than $86 million on more than a dozen departments to address the homelessness crisis this year. Crate With Hillary Clinton Painting Triggers Police Dogs

When two security dogs reacted to a suspicious crate before an Art Miami tent opening early Saturday morning, Miami police officers briefly shut down the area for a few hours to investigate the possible threat.

But when they opened up the offending crate, officers found something else instead: a punky portrait of Hillary Clinton in a studded jacket and shaggy pink haircut, in a neon picture frame to match.

Fair director Nick Korniloff said that the two dogs reacted to the crate during a pre-show check shortly after 8 a.m., prompting organizers to clear the site. Both the Art Miami tent and a tent for Context, connected by a tunnel, were closed off. The package was then searched and the painting of the former Democratic presidential candidate was found inside . . .
