Tucker Carlson Accuses ‘Flamboyantly Pure’ Pence of Collaborating With Feds to Nail Trump in Docs Case

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson has a different take on the reports involving former Vice President Mike Pence and the classified documents found at his Indiana home.

According to Mediaite, Carlson attacked the former vice president as he accused him of conspiring with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to bring down former President Donald Trump as his classified documents investigation continues.

The conservative primetime host made the remarks during his segment of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday, January 24. He opened the discussion by highlighting what he describes as “unexplained weirdness.” . . .

“So here’s the latest example of unexplained weirdness in the news,” Carlson opened the broadcast. “Mike Pence, of all people, has just swooped in to save Joe Biden. Yes, Mike Pence, a man so flamboyantly pure he won’t have dinner with ladies, not his wife. And yet Mike Pence also had secret documents in his house, just like Joe Biden!” . . .

“We can’t say for certain, but it’s entirely possible; in fact, it’s likely that Mike Pence was asked to do this by federal prosecutors who are trying to build a case against his old boss, Donald Trump,” Carlson explained. Mike Pence Had Classified Documents Too

As more and more classified documents are discovered in President Biden’s Wilmington home, it turns out more than just Biden and former President Trump took sensitive materials from their respective vice presidential and presidential offices.

On Tuesday, CNN broke the news that former Vice President Mike Pence also had some classified documents, a fact he informed Congress of on Tuesday, found at his home in Indiana on January 16. Pence had “about a dozen” classified documents from his time as VP, and subsequently turned them over to the FBI.

As CNN explained in its report based on “sources” —

The classified documents were discovered at Pence’s new home in Carmel, Indiana, by a lawyer for Pence in the wake of the revelations about classified material discovered in President Joe Biden’s private office and residence, the sources said.

In a twist, Pence had said in previous interviews that he did not have any classified documents in his possession from his four years as VP to Trump. (Read more from “Mike Pence Had Classified Documents Too” HERE)

Veep Cut: Trump Responds After Pence’s Classified Doc Discovery

Former President Donald Trump was quick to respond to reports that classified documents were found at former Vice President Mike Pence’s home in Indiana.

Trump, who is dealing with the fallout of his own classified documents scandal, took to Truth Social to say: “Mike Pence is an innocent man. He never did anything knowingly dishonest in his life. Leave him alone!!!”

Given how Trump’s relationship with Pence deteriorated in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and his vice president’s refusal to change the Electoral College vote, it’s unclear if Trump was being sincere or sarcastic with his message.

Pence’s team alerted the National Archives to two boxes of possible classified materials inside the house on Jan. 18.

Mike Pence Says He Will Not Testify Before Jan. 6 Committee: ‘Congress Has No Right to My Testimony’

Former Vice President Mike Pence said that he would refuse to testify before the Jan. 6 Committee because Congress has “no right” to his testimony.

Pence made the comments in an interview with Margaret Brennan of CBS News, who asked him whether he would testify as many of his staffers have.

“I served for twelve years in the Congress, it’s inconceivable to me that one party would appoint every member of a committee in Congress, that’s antithetical to that whole idea of the committee system. That being said I never stood in the way of senior members of my team cooperating with the committee and testifying,” Pence responded.

“But Congress has no right to my testimony,” he added.

“We have a separation of powers under the Constitution of the United States and I believe it would establish a terrible precedent for the Congress to summon a vice president of the United States to speak about deliberations that took place at the White House,” Pence said. Mike Pence Expected to Testify Before Jan. 6 Committee

A member of the Jan. 6 committee said he expects that former Vice President Mike Pence will speak with investigators.

“In no one’s case is a subpoena out of the question, but I would assume he’s gonna come forward and testify voluntarily, the way the vast majority of people have,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said during an interview that aired Sunday on CBS News’s Face the Nation.

Pence has so far been noncommittal about appearing before the Jan. 6 committee if he is called upon for testimony.

Mike Pence Has Second Thoughts on Testifying to Jan. 6 Committee

Former Vice President Mike Pence has reneged on his previous statement that he would consider testifying before the House Jan. 6 committee.

Recently, Pence said he would consider appearing before the Democrat-led committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach. Meanwhile, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), who is considered the face of the panel, recently told news outlets that Pence was in talks with the committee to testify.

But during an interview with The Washington Times over the weekend, Pence spoke with a more cautious tone and described the committee as “very partisan.”

“If the committee wanted to extend a formal invitation I would consider it, but we would reflect very carefully on my obligations to preserve the separation of powers and the constitutional framework that I served in,” he said.

Pence, who was a Republican governor of Indiana before becoming vice president, told the newspaper that he has “real concerns about the partisan nature of the Jan. 6 committee.” (Read more from “Mike Pence Has Second Thoughts on Testifying to Jan. 6 Committee” HERE)

Is Mike Pence Taking the FBI’s Side Over Trump’s?

Former Vice President Mike Pence called out members of the Republican Party for going after the FBI following the raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

Criticizing his own party, Pence told the GOP to stop attacking rank-and-file FBI personnel.

“I also want to remind my fellow Republicans we can hold the attorney general accountable for the decision that he made without attacking the rank-and-file law enforcement personnel at the FBI,” Pence said during a speech in New Hampshire.

Pence, who has publicly spoken against Trump, is taking yet another aim at his former partner by seemingly taking the FBI’s side.

“It is fairly well-known that President Trump and I had our differences… Our party stands with the men and women who stand on the thin blue line at the federal, state, and local levels. These attacks on the FBI must stop,” Pence continued to say. (Read more from “Is Mike Pence Taking the FBI’s Side Over Trump’s?” HERE)

At Odds: Pence Says He and Trump ‘Differ on Focus,’ Not Issues

Former Vice President Mike Pence admitted that he and ex-President Donald Trump “may differ” on their focus for the future of the Republican Party, but he would not go so far as to say the movement was “divided” as the two potential 2024 presidential candidates were scheduled to hold back-to-back events in Washington, DC, on Tuesday. . .

“President Trump and yourself are both speaking this week in DC. And there seems to be a divide between the two of you on your outlook on what the future of the conservative movement might be,” Andrew Rashard, a student at Gettysburg College, asked the former vice president.

“So do you think that this divide extends to the rest of the conservative movement like the general public, and what do you think we can do to alleviate it? . . .

“So I don’t know that our movement is that divided,” he said. “I don’t — I don’t know that the president and I differ on issues.

“But we may differ on focus,” Pence admitted. (Read more from “At Odds: Pence Says He and Trump ‘Differ on Focus,’ Not Issues” HERE)

Trump Says Pence Refusing to Overturn Election Led to Russia-Ukraine War

Former President Donald Trump has argued that the Russian invasion of Ukraine “never would have happened” if former Vice President Mike Pence had overturned President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.

Trump said in a statement on Thursday night just before a prime-time hearing of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol that Pence’s unwillingness to block Biden’s win on the day of the riot was responsible for everything from the war, to inflation, high gas prices and the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The former president also shared the statement to his Truth Social account as the hearing was airing live.

Trump’s statement said that Pence had told him “and everybody else” that “there was nothing he could do about the Electoral Vote Count–it was etched in stone.” Trump argued that Pence was incorrect since “the Democrats and RINOs,” or Republicans in name only, were currently “working so hard to make sure there is nothing a VP can do” to change an election outcome. . .

“We would have no inflation, inexpensive gasoline, be energy dominant, have no war or largescale death with Russia and Ukraine (this conflict never would have happened), would have left Afghanistan on same timetable, but with dignity and strength,” Trump said. “And would have kept Bagram Air Base, not had dead soldiers, taken out all American hostages, and would not have given the Taliban $85 billion worth of first-class military equipment.” (Read more from “Trump Says Pence Refusing to Overturn Election Led to Russia-Ukraine War” HERE)

Mike Pence Endorses GOP Rival of Trump-Backed Candidate for Governor

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Monday endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson, who is running against Trump-backed, former TV news anchor Kari Lake in the GOP primary for Arizona governor.

The endorsement further escalated the public rift between Mr. Pence and his former boss, teeing up another high-profile intraparty showdown ahead of the Aug. 2 primary.

Ms. Robson, a real estate developer and former member of the Arizona Board of Regents, is “the best choice for Arizona’s future” who will “keep Arizona’s border secure and streets safe, empower parents and create great schools, and promote conservative values,” Mr. Pence said.

“I am honored to announce the endorsement of former Vice President @Mike_Pence,” Ms. Robson tweeted. “He has been a warrior for the sanctity of Life; limited government; law & order; opportunity for all; & the knowledge that our freedoms are granted by God. I’m proud to have him on my team.” (Read more from “Mike Pence Endorses GOP Rival of Trump-Backed Candidate for Governor” HERE)
