Missouri County Reaches $10.25m Settlement With Officer Told to ‘Tone Down’ His ‘Gayness’

St. Louis County, Missouri, agreed to pay out a $10.25 million settlement to a police lieutenant who said he was ordered to “tone down” his “gayness” and was passed over for a promotion 23 times.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the agreement between the county and Keith Wildhaber was finalized on Monday, within hours of St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar’s retirement announcement after six years of being on the job.

County officials said they were unsure how much of the settlement would be covered under insurance policies and how much would be paid for by the taxpayers. But county officials did say the settlement money would not come out of the Proposition P public safety tax. He’s Caught Stealing American Flag from Business. but the Owner — a Veteran and Former Cop — Has a Better Idea Than an Arrest.

A 19-year-old teen was caught on surveillance video stealing an American flag from a Missouri business early Thursday morning — but Bill Hoaglin, the owner of Beacon Car & Pet Wash, had a better idea in mind than an arrest, KTVI-TV reported. . .

Hoaglin posted the surveillance footage on Facebook, which led to people identifying Keaton Chandler, the station said. . .

Hoaglin told the outlet that Chandler offered to return the flag if Hoaglin removed the Facebook footage. But Hoaglin, a former cop of 18 years who specialized in community issues, offered Chandler a deal: Return the flag and avoid criminal charges by carrying out a symbolic punishment, Yahoo Lifestyle said.

“I sent my daughter to Walmart to purchase more than 150 miniature American flags for Keaton to pass out to customers,” Hoaglin added to the outlet. . .

For nearly five hours Chandler distributed every single flag to customers, Yahoo Lifestyle reported, adding that Hoaglin noted that Chandler “said he would do whatever it takes.” (Read more from “He’s Caught Stealing American Flag from Business. but the Owner — a Veteran and Former Cop — Has a Better Idea Than an Arrest.” HERE)

PRO-LIFE WIN: Another State Passes Major Abortion Ban

On Friday, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, a Republican, signed into law one of the most pro-life laws in the nation, outlawing abortion at eight weeks, save an exception for the life or risk of major physical harm to the mother. The legislation does not include an exception for rape or incest, and sex- , ability- , and race-selective abortions are also banned outright.

The law is set to go into effect on August 28, though pro-abortion organizations are expected to challenge its constitutionality. As noted byFox News, the Missouri law was crafted to stand up to legal challenges, not provoke a showdown over Roe v. Wade: “If the eight-week ban is struck down, the bill includes a ladder of less-restrictive time limits at 14, 18 or 20 weeks.” . . .

Responding to criticism over the lack of exceptions for abortion post-eight weeks, Gov. Parson argued that two months is enough time to decide to get an abortion, even in tough cases.

“Is it a terrible thing that happens in those situations? Yes it is,” the Republican acknowledged, according to Fox. “But the reality of it is bad things do happen sometimes. But you have two months to decide what you’re going to do with that issue, and I believe in two months you can make a decision.” . . .

Democrats have responded to sweeping pro-life legislation with their own proposed bill: the euphemistically-named “Women’s Health Protection Act,” or WHPA. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA), would block and upend vital pro-life legislation, such as so-called “heartbeat bills” — which protect unborn babies with a detectable heartbeat from abortion — waiting periods, and mandates on ultrasounds, among other abortion restrictions, as reported by The Daily Wire on Friday. Senate Approves Pro-Life Bill, Declares Itself ‘Sanctuary of Life’

The Missouri Senate passed legislation Thursday that contains some of the nation’s strongest safeguards for unborn babies and their mothers, including a ban on abortions from eight weeks of pregnancy and a declaration that Missouri is to be a “sanctuary of life.”

“In recognition that God is the author of life,” begins the Missouri Stands for the Unborn Act (HB 126) that state House Speaker Elijah Haahr (R) labeled the “strongest pro-life bill in the country.”

“[I]t is the intention of the general assembly of the state of Missouri” to “defend the right to life of all humans, born and unborn” and to “declare that the state and all of its political subdivisions are a ‘sanctuary of life’ that protects pregnant women and their unborn children,” the legislation states.

“This comprehensive, life-affirming legislation prohibits abortions once a heartbeat has been detected, prohibits abortions when a baby is capable of feeling pain, and would outlaw abortion in Missouri upon the reversal of Roe v. Wade,” summarized state Sens. Dave Schatz and Caleb Rowden in a joint statement.

Police Officer Killed During Alleged Russian Roulette-Style Game

A St. Louis police officer has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after he allegedly shot and killed another officer while playing a Russian Roulette-style game shortly after midnight on Thursday morning.

Officer Nathaniel Hendren and his partner were on-duty Wednesday evening when, according to a probable cause statement, Officer Katlyn Alix, who was off-duty, met Hendren and his partner at Hendren’s residence.

While Alix and Hendren were “playing with firearms,” Hendren “produced a revolver,” the statement reads. The officer removed all the bullets from the revolver, then loaded a single bullet back in, and spun the chamber. . .

Hendren’s partner claims to have felt uneasy about what was happening, according to the statement. He allegedly told Alix and Hendren “that they shouldn’t be playing with guns,” and exited the room with the intention of leaving the residence.

Hendren reportedly took back the gun, pointed it at Alix, and once more pulled the trigger. This time, a bullet was discharged, hitting Alix in the chest. As Hendren’s partner was leaving, he heard the fatal shot, and returned to the scene.

Hundreds at Vigils Mourn Victims of Missouri Boat Accident

By AP. A Missouri town known for its country shows and entertainment mourned Friday after 17 people — including nine from one family — were killed when a tourist boat sank on churning water in a sudden storm.

The grief-stricken community hosted two separate vigils Friday night. In one, about 300 people gathered in the parking lot of Ride the Ducks of Branson and sang “Amazing Grace.” Mourners at a church sang the same words. . .

Twenty-nine passengers and two crew members were aboard for a pleasure cruise. Seven of the 14 survivors were hurt when the vessel went down. At least two children and two adults were still hospitalized Friday afternoon. The captain survived, authorities said. Missouri Boat Accident Kills 17, Including Nine From One Family

By Reuters. The World War Two-style amphibious vehicle was carrying 31 passengers including children when the sudden “microburst” storm hit Table Rock Lake outside Branson, with waves slowly swamping the vehicle before it sank.

More than three dozen people have died in incidents involving duck boats on land and water in the United States over the past two decades.

Tia Coleman said she and her nephew were the only survivors from 11 members of their family who went on the “Ride The Ducks” tour. . .

She said the captain of the boat told them when they were in the lake not to put their life jackets on, an action she believed cost lives. The crew was warned to get in and out of the lake quickly as a storm was approaching, she said.

The 17 victims were aged between 1 and 70 and came from six U.S. states, authorities said. The included Arkansas residents Steve Smith and his son Lance, their church newspaper said. Smith’s daughter Loren survived. His wife opted not go on the tour, the paper said. (Read more from “Missouri Boat Accident Kills 17, Including Nine From One Family” HERE)

This Guy Rapped About Dismembering Murder Victims. Now He’s an Elected Democrat.

A Democratic state representative who has organized anti-police protests in St. Louis rapped about shooting “snitches” and dragging their dead bodies behind cars in a series of rap videos.

State Rep. Bruce Franks Jr., a freshman lawmaker elected in November 2016, used the rap name Ooops as part of a rap group called St. Louis Cypher. In a series of videos, some as recent as 2015, Franks rapped about shooting and stabbing people to death and hiding the evidence.

“I off them if they snitch, I put a shotty to their body, send them straight to the reverend! I put them in a body cast, put them in a body bag, tie them to the bag of the Chrysler then it’s body drag!” Franks can be heard shouting in a freestyle rap video. “A nigga speak my name, he will get slain!”

(our apologies, but apparently the Democrats succeeded in getting the below video pulled down from YouTube):

“These niggas better stop playin, I get to AK-in,” Franks raps, referencing an AK-47.

(offensive lyrics regarding murder victims and others are throughout in the following video, but the worst starts at 5:31):

Planned Parenthood Teams up With Satanists

Missouri has reportedly doubled its abortion capacity this year “thanks to the Satanic Temple and Planned Parenthood,” who have worked in tandem to fight the state’s restrictions on abortion.

With some of the most clearly defined regulations on abortion in the nation, Missouri had managed to lower the number of abortion facilities to a single clinic, but a second Missouri clinic opened its doors recently and two others plan on following soon.

Planned Parenthood has battled against state regulations requiring abortion clinics to meet the same surgical center standards as full hospitals and for their doctors to have hospital privileges, and in April a federal court sided with the abortion giant.

U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs granted a preliminary injunction invalidating requirements for the state’s abortion clinics to meet standards for surgical centers and for their doctors to have hospital privileges, citing a U.S. Supreme Court ruling striking down similar restrictions in Texas, which deemed those laws unnecessary and unconstitutional. Senator: ‘I Hope Trump Is Assassinated!’

A Missouri state senator said in a now-deleted Facebook post that she hopes President Donald Trump is assassinated.

Maria Chappelle-Nadal acknowledged on Thursday that she wrote a post which read: “I hope Trump is assassinated!”

She made the comment in an exchange with a left-wing activist who claimed that his cousin is a Secret Service agent.

Chappelle-Nadal confirmed to a reporter with St. Louis TV station KMOX that she posted the comment.

“I put something up on my personal Facebook page and it has now been deleted,” she said.

Missouri Gun Owners Won Constitutional Carry. It’s Time to Take This Show NATIONAL

Constitutional carry is officially legal in the state of Missouri, as a new law permitting legal gun owners to carry concealed firearms has gone into effect with the start of the new year.

The bill that was enacted into law, Senate Bill 656, allows individuals to carry hidden weapons anywhere they can carry weapons openly. Missouri joins 10 other states that allow concealed carry.

The bill’s sponsor, former Missouri Representative Eric Burlison, said that an American’s Second Amendment right to carry a firearm applies both in and outside of your pocket. “The same right you have to carry on the outside of your jacket or pocket, we want to extend that right to be able to carry on the inside of your jacket or pocket,” said Burlison, according to KY3.

Additionally, the new law creates a “stand your ground” right, which allows people to remain in any place they have a legal right to be in and defend themselves with their firearm if there is danger present. It also extends the “castle doctrine”— the right of a homeowner to use deadly force if confronted with a threat in their home — to invited guests, such as a babysitter.

The bill became law after a contentious legislative battle in 2016, in which state senate Republicans used an arcane parliamentary procedure to overturn Democratic Governor Jay Nixon’s veto. The state’s Republican majority has previously used the tactic, known as “calling the previous question,” to overcome Democratic filibusters and force votes on bills.

If only congressional Republicans had that same resolve in advancing their agenda under President Obama. However, there is a great opportunity to defend the Second Amendment under the administration of President-elect Trump.

“The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans,” reads President-elect Trump’s official policy position on the right to bear arms. “The Constitution doesn’t create that right — it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.”

The president-elect’s strong vocal support for the Second Amendment can be translated into national policy with the passage of national concealed carry reciprocity. Such a law would permit a Missouri resident who can legally carry a firearm in his state to carry his weapon legally in any state in the country.

Trump is in favor of such legislation, declaring: “A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.”

With Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, will national concealed carry reciprocity become law?

Time will tell. And conservatives will exert pressure on Republicans in Congress to advance a conservative agenda. (For more from the author of “Missouri Gun Owners Won Constitutional Carry. It’s Time to Take This Show NATIONAL” please click HERE)
