Report: Adult Son Fatally Beats Elderly Father With Ceramic Bowl, Police Find Him Playing Video Games Shortly After

In a shocking and disturbing incident, a 45-year-old man in San Antonio, Texas, is accused of brutally beating his elderly father to death with a ceramic bowl. The harrowing details emerged after police responded to a welfare check requested by a home health care agency concerned about the couple’s well-being.

The San Antonio police arrived at the Three Fountains apartment complex on January 19 around 6 p.m. after attempts to reach the couple were unsuccessful. Upon entering the unit with the assistance of a maintenance person, officers were met with a grisly scene. A woman, later identified as the 85-year-old victim’s wife, was found in an injured state inside a room. She revealed that her son, James Gordon Barber, had attacked them the night before.

The police discovered the lifeless body of an 85-year-old man covered with blankets on the ground. Investigators later determined that the elderly father had succumbed to blunt force injuries inflicted by a broken ceramic bowl, which was found at the crime scene with traces of blood.

Disturbingly, when the police located James Gordon Barber, he was reportedly playing video games. Authorities noted that Barber, who did not resist arrest, was uttering incoherent statements. The couple had endured the assault approximately 20 hours before the police discovered them.

The motive behind the brutal attack remains unclear, but a family member informed KENS-TV that Barber had been grappling with severe mental health issues. After a recent divorce, he had moved in with his parents, raising concerns about his well-being.

The 57-year-old mother suffered life-threatening injuries, including head trauma and fractures, and was promptly admitted to a hospital for medical attention. Meanwhile, Barber has been charged with murder and aggravated assault, with a bond set at $400,000.

Tragedy Strikes as Delivery Man Fatally Beaten With Firewood by Naked Attacker (VIDEO)

A horrifying incident unfolded in Fort Worth, Texas, as a delivery man, 51-year-old Scotty Jackson, was brutally attacked and beaten to death with firewood by a naked assailant, 27-year-old Christantus Omondi. The shocking crime occurred as Jackson was delivering firewood to a residence, leaving the local community in profound shock.

According to court documents, Jackson had been hired to bring firewood to a home in Fort Worth in a U-haul. However, upon arrival, he was confronted by Omondi, who proceeded to attack him with pieces of wood. The homeowner, who had hired Jackson for the delivery, was present during the horrifying encounter but managed to escape Omondi’s violent assault.

Describing the chilling incident, the homeowner recounted a naked Omondi holding a key and insisting that Jackson was on his property. Despite attempts to reason with Omondi and continue with the firewood delivery due to freezing temperatures, the situation escalated. Omondi allegedly chased the homeowner into his home and later attacked Jackson, dumping a wheelbarrow on top of him.

Law enforcement responded to calls of an assault, discovering Jackson with “severe blunt force trauma” to his head and neck. Witnesses and video surveillance corroborated the homeowner’s account of the brutal attack.

Following the assault, Omondi reportedly returned to an Airbnb he was renting and confronted a woman in the laundry room, making threatening remarks. When police arrived, Omondi resisted arrest, prompting the use of a taser to subdue him.

The victim’s daughter, Kasey DeLeon, expressed her profound grief, describing her father as a loving figure who had spoiled her and her daughters. “I’ll never be able to call my dad again. I’ll never be able to see him. At this moment, I have so much hate and so much anger,” she lamented. DeLeon fervently hopes for justice for her father.

The incident has left the Fort Worth community grappling with shock and sorrow, as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic and senseless death of Scotty Jackson.

Teens Face Murder Charges After Allegedly Laughing While They Beat 53-Year-Old Father to Death

On December 6th, three Columbus area teens allegedly laid in wait for a 53-year-old father to exit a local Kroger, whereupon they reportedly were “laughing and enjoying” themselves as they beat the man senseless. Now all three face murder charges after their victim died Monday from his wounds.

The victim has been identified as Donnie Smith. According to Smith’s wife, Smith was “an amazing person” who was a father to a 15-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.

According to the police report, Jamarion Fredrae Evans-Bennett, 19, Dionta Davon Hughes, 18, and an as-yet-unidentified 17-year-old male allegedly became involved in an altercation inside the Kroger with a number of Kroger patrons, whereupon they were asked to leave by security. The three then reportedly went outside to wait for Smith. It is unclear as yet why Smith in particular was targeted by the group, or what was the nature of the disagreement inside the store. Gas Station Clerk, 23, Shot Dead After Texting Pals About Safety

A 23-year-old Tennessee woman was shot dead at a convenience store where she worked the midnight shift only hours after she expressed safety concerns — and a father and son have been charged in her murder.

Tava Woodard, a clerk at the Roadrunner Market on North Broadway in Johnson City, texted friends and co-workers on June 2 about a shoplifting incident and said she wanted to find a new job, People reported.

A short time later, two masked men identified as Mark Sexton Jr., 41, and his son Mark Sexton III, 18, entered the store and stole money from her at gunpoint, WJHL reported.

“The two men then walked towards the door but as they were leaving, one of the men turned around and fired a shot from the pistol, striking Ms. Woodard,” according to an affidavit cited by the outlet.

When police arrived eight minutes later, they found her body lying on the ground. (Read more from “Gas Station Clerk, 23, Shot Dead After Texting Pals About Safety” HERE)

Bryan Kohberger Could Face Firing Squad If Convicted of Idaho Students’ Murder

Bryan Kohberger could face a firing squad if convicted of killing four college students in Idaho.

Kohberger, 28, a criminal-justice doctoral student, has been charged in the Nov. 13 stabbing deaths of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20 and Xana Kernodle, 20.

Prosecutors have not said whether they plan to pursue the death penalty against Kohberger if he is convicted, but it is certainly possible considering the heinous crime.

Enter GOP state lawmaker Rep. Bruce Skaug.

Skaug, chairman of the state House Judiciary, Rules and Administration Committee, last week introduced a bill that would bring back the firing squad as a legal form of execution in Idaho, according to the East Idaho News. Idaho Victim’s Mother Feels ‘Betrayed’ by Attorney Representing Murder Suspect (VIDEO)

The mother of Xana Kernodle, one of the four victims in the University of Idaho killings, said that she feels “betrayed” by her former attorney who reportedly dropped her to represent Bryan Kohberger, the man suspected of murdering her daughter.

Court-appointed attorney Anne Taylor previously represented Kernodle’s mother, Cara Northington, in an “unrelated drug case” when she suddenly withdrew her services on Jan. 5, the New York Post reported. On that day, Kohberger appeared in court for the first time since his arrest with Taylor representing him.

In an interview this week with NewsNation, Northington said she felt “heartbroken” because she trusted Taylor.

“[Taylor] pretended that she was wanting to help me,” Nottingham said. “And to find out that she’s representing him, I can’t even convey how betrayed I feel.”

NewsNation noted that Taylor’s office represented Northington in four cases since 2017. In the most recent case, drug charges were reportedly filed against Northington on Nov. 19, days after her 20-year-old daughter, her boyfriend, and two of her college roommates were found dead inside of their off-campus home near the University of Idaho.

Search Warrant Released in Idaho College Murders as Cops Reveal What Was Found in Suspect’s Apartment

A Washington court has unsealed the search warrants for the office and apartment of University of Idaho stabbing suspect Bryan Kohberger, a 28-year-old Washington State University Ph.D. student accused of murdering four undergrads in nearby Moscow, Idaho.

A search of his office in the school’s department of criminal justice and criminology turned up nothing, according to the filings, but police found hair samples, fabric with dark red stains, and a single black glove and other evidence at his apartment. . .

In the newly unveiled filings, investigators described previously undisclosed evidence they were seeking, including blood, DNA, shoes with diamond-pattern soles and “data compilations” of information about the victims and the King Road house where they were killed. . .

The warrants allege that Kohberger pre-planned the ambush and had studied other murders and how to avoid detection as part of his preparations.

“These murders appear to have been planned, rather than a crime that happened in a moment of conflict,” an affidavit seeking the search warrant reads. (Read more from “Search Warrant Released in Idaho College Murders as Cops Reveal What Was Found in Suspect’s Apartment” HERE)

Report: Suspect in Idaho Student Killings Had ‘Little Remorse’ as Teenager (VIDEO)

The man accused of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho students reportedly shared dark thoughts online when he was a young person.

The suspect apparently wrote about being unable to feel emotion and claiming he could do “whatever I want with little remorse,” the New York Times reported Friday:

The new revelations about the suspect, Bryan Kohberger, come from posts he made on an online forum in which he discussed his mental health struggles, as well as from interviews with those who knew him and messages he sent to friends that were obtained by The New York Times. They paint a portrait of an anxious, isolated and depressed teenager who turned to heroin use before eventually getting clean and becoming fascinated with studying criminal psychology, saying then that he hoped to one day provide counseling for high-profile criminals.

Alleged Suspect in Idaho Slayings Was Reportedly Studying Criminology

The alleged suspect arrested Friday in connection with the slayings of four University of Idaho students was reportedly studying criminology at a nearby university.

Authorities arrested 28-year-old Bryan Christopher Kohberger in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in the early hours of the morning. He was wanted on a warrant for first degree murder, according to NPR.

Kohberger was reportedly a student at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, studying criminology, NPR reported, noting the university’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology listed a Ph.D. student by the same name. The university is less than 10 miles from the University of Idaho. Kohberger appeared to have been pursuing a doctorate in the subject after seemingly receiving a master of arts in criminal justice from DeSales University in 2022, the New York Post reported.

Screenshots circulating on social media are reportedly taken from Kohberger’s Reddit page, where he allegedly asked former prisoners to participate in a criminology study during his time at DeSales. (Read more from “Alleged Suspect in Idaho Slayings Was Reportedly Studying Criminology” HERE)
