. . .Netflix’s “Dave Chappelle: The Closer” triggered trans employees enough at Netflix that they took part in a walkout. The employee who led the walkout has since been fired, as they also allegedly leaked data.
The fired employee, who is Black and currently pregnant and did not wish to be named, declined comment for The Verge. Another Netflix employee, however, did speak to the outlet. As Zoe Schiffler reported:
“All these white people are going around talking to the press and speaking publicly on Twitter and the only person who gets fired is the Black person who was quiet the entire time,” says a former employee in an interview with The Verge. “That’s absurd, and just further shows that Black trans people are the ones being targeted in this conversation.”
Schiffler referenced how metrics ended up in reporting with Bloomberg. That report in question, by Lucas Shaw from October 13, notes specifics about the reach and profitability of Chapelle’s specials. Shaw also writes:
Netflix shares lots of company data, including salaries and quarterly results, with employees as part of its culture of freedom and responsibility. It does so on the condition that those employees don’t share financial results or the performance of individual titles with the public. But the Chappelle special has prompted leaks unprecedented in the company’s history.

Netflix suspended three employees, including a transgender staffer who spoke out against comedian Dave Chappelle’s recent Netflix special, for reportedly crashing a business meeting they were not permitted to attend.
Netflix suspended the three employees and has launched an investigation into them for allegedly attending a quarterly business review meeting that invited only directors and vice presidents, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Senior software engineer Tara Field, who is transgender, is among the three who were suspended. She had also spoken out about Chappelle’s “The Closer” special, which addressed the trans community after the comedian faced years of backlash and claims he is “transphobic.”
“I work at @netflix. Yesterday we launched another Chappelle special where he attacks the trans community, and the very validity of transness – all while trying to pit us against other marginalized groups. You’re going to hear a lot of talk about ‘offense’. We are not offended,” Field said in one tweet on the special last week, which is pinned on her Twitter account. Though Netflix’s animated series, “Big Mouth,” bills itself as TV-MA and is ostensibly intended for adults, it features 12- and 13-year-old characters engaging in sex acts and includes animated nudity and graphic dialogue, according to a parents group demanding Netflix be investigated over the show.
One scene, for example, shows a 13-year-old boy who doesn’t want to be left at camp yelling, “I’ll suck your d**k,” to his departing father. Another shows a group of middle school boys fully nude in a shower, waving their penises. Still another scene shows two boys discussing mutual masturbation, sharing tips on how to masturbate, and fondling themselves in front of one another.
A new report from the Parents Television and Media Council (PTC) argues that, despite being a cartoon, “Big Mouth’s” sexually explicit content is meant to depict minors and therefore qualifies as child pornography. The group is calling on law enforcement to investigate the distributor, Netflix. . .
While much of this material is expressed through dialogue, some scenes do depict sex acts and show nudity. In total, the PTC reports, these ten episodes included 17 instances of animated nudity, primarily depicting the genitals of middle-school boys and girls. Netflix is now facing a criminal charge in the ongoing backlash over “Cuties,” a French film centered around a 11-year-old girl living in Paris who wants to join a local “free-spirited dance crew.”
A grand jury indictment for promotion of lewd visual material depicting a child was filed on Sept. 23 in Tyler County, Texas, according to Texas state Rep. Matt Schaefer, a Republican.NBC News obtained a copy of the indictment Tuesday, confirming Schaefer’s tweet.
The indictment states that Netflix promoted, distributed and exhibited material which “depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age” for the “prurient interest in sex.” It also states that the material held no serious “literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.” . . .

Critics said the film and its promotional materials sexualized the young girls, equating it with child exploitation or child pornography.
The streaming company was criticized in August for the U.S. “Cuties” poster, which featured young girls in revealing two-piece dance costumes. (Read more from “Netflix Indicted in Texas Over Disturbing ‘Cuties’ Film” HERE)

Two men were arrested on Monday for allegedly planning a ‘Netflix worthy’ terrorist attack on American soil looking to carry out violence on behalf of ISIS, according to KSAT.
The men involved, Kristopher Sean Matthews, of Eglin, S.C., and Jaylyn Christopher Molina, of San Antonio, Texas, are accused of conspiring to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization” according to the outlet.
KSAT reported that the documents from the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in San Antonio said Matthews, who went by the alias “Ali Jibreel,” used an encrypted messaging application last year to find an ISIS facilitator outside the U.S. to help him travel to Syria and recruit additional members who support the group’s ideology.
Meanwhile, Molina who refers to himself as “Abdur Rahim,” used the same encrypted chat in April and May to post manuals on how to train with an AK-47 and images providing bomb-making instructions. . .
FBI investigators reportedly used covert tactics to track Matthews and Molina, in which they learned of conversations between Matthews, Molina and others in a secretive chat group where they allegedly professed their loyalty to ISIS, their hate for the United States and Western nations and their desire to support the extremist terrorist group however they can. Republican senators are demanding Netflix explain its decision to adapt a Chinese science fiction trilogy written by a Xinjiang genocide denier into an original series.
The senators, including Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.) and Rick Scott (Fla.), are marshaling support against the streaming giant’s plan to adapt Chinese author Liu Cixin’s bestselling Three-Body Problem trilogy into a live-action series. Cixin defended his government’s brutal suppression of Muslim Uighurs in a 2019 interview with the New Yorker.
“The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is committing atrocities in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region (XUAR),” the legislators wrote. “Sadly, a number of U.S. companies continue to either actively or tacitly allow the normalization of, or apologism for, these crimes. The decision to produce an adaptation of Mr. Liu’s work can be viewed as such normalization.”
Bela Bajaria, a Joe Biden campaign megadonor who gave as much as $500,000 to a group affiliated with the candidate, was in charge of “international content” when Netflix ordered the series. She now oversees all of Netflix’s original series across the world, according to the Wall Street Journal. Netflix, which did not return a request for comment, previously told the Washington Free Beacon that she “works on the series side of the business.”
Netflix’s collaboration with Liu reflects Hollywood’s willingness to cater to the massive Chinese market, even if it means turning a blind eye to the country’s human rights abuses. Disney’s recent live-action remake of Mulan even thanked Xinjiang authorities—some of them directly implicated in the Uighur crackdown—in its closing credit. Hollywood studios also routinely avoid topics that might anger Chinese censors, going so far as to change movie villains’ nationalities from Chinese to North Korean. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is making the pro-pedophile left crazy and all it took was asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate Netflix for violating U.S. child pornography laws. Today’s Democrats are so focused on attacking followers of QAnon that they are in the process of publicly defending child exploitation. Aaron Rupar, a journalist at Vox, tweeted out this interview with Ted Cruz asking the DOJ to investigate Netflix for distributing the film Cuties — a film that appears to violate U.S. law. Rupar declared this as evidence that he is “tossing some red meat to GOP’s QAnon base.” In reality, Senator Cruz is asking our law-enforcement agencies to do their jobs.
The fact that QAnon followers are concerned with child-trafficking and child exploitation should not make any rational person decide “I’m against stopping child-trafficking or exploitation now,” just because some people who have some weird theories are against it. This is just evidence that the opposition to Republicans is so unhinged that no matter what Donald Trump or Republicans do (including trying to rescue sex-trafficked kids), the other side will declare it double-plus ungood. Stopping the exploitation of children on Netflix is somehow evil because Republicans are doing it, or something. Here’s a blue-checked journalist saying he would let his daughter perform sexually for an audience.
absolutely. if my 11 year old daughter had the maturity level and talent and was cast in a well-written film like that, i would be a real piece of shit to not allow her to *act* https://t.co/FurX9Sph40
But Cruz isn’t going to let that stop him. He sent a letter to the Department of Justice asking for an official investigation into Netflix and its movie Cuties that shows underaged little girls in sexual situations, performing for sexual titillation, with close-ups of their genitals while doing suggestive twerking dances, flashing their underwear, among other horrors. Cruz wrote:
The video streaming service and content-producer Netflix is currently hosting a film entitled “Cuties” that sexualizes young girls, including through dance scenes that simulate sexual activities and a scene exposing a minor’s bare breast. I urge the Department of Justice to investigate the production and distribution of this film to determine whether Netflix, its executives, or the individuals involved in the filming and production of “Cuties” violated any federal laws against the production and distribution of child pornography.
Ted Cruz is apparently unaware that he’s upset about a foreign film. And I wonder how many other outraged folks are clueless about that simple fact. https://t.co/4TPwyT6f0c

Despite the headline, they don’t dispute the facts: (1) movie sexually exploits kids, (2) Netflix making $$ from distributing; and (3) Netflix pays Obama big bucks.

Netflix is currently promoting an award-winning film, “Cuties,” that’s being marketed as “a coming-of-age tale” from the streaming giant.
But people across the world are expressing outrage with concerns that the movie sexualizes young girls, and a petition has been launched in an effort to have it removed from Netflix. . .
On Tuesday, Netflix announced that “Cuties” would be coming soon to its platform, sharing the French language film’s trailer on Twitter. The promotional plug reads: “Amy, 11, becomes fascinated with a twerking dance crew. Hoping to join them, she starts to explore her femininity, defying her family’s traditions.”
The Hollywood News published the full synopsis of the film, which reads:
Eleven-year-old Amy lives with her mom, Mariam, and younger brother, awaiting her father to rejoin the family from Senegal. Amy is fascinated by disobedient neighbor Angelica’s free-spirited dance clique, a group that stands in sharp contrast to stoic Mariam’s deeply held traditional values. Undeterred by the girls’ initial brutal dismissal and eager to escape her family’s simmering dysfunction, Amy, through an ignited awareness of her burgeoning femininity, propels the group to enthusiastically embrace an increasingly sensual dance routine, sparking the girls’ hope to twerk their way to stardom at a local dance contest.

Netflix has released an “original” series based on a popular book series from my childhood, “The Baby-Sitters Club.”
Like most stories targeted at “tween” girls, the topics in the books revolved around boys, family, illness, and more. Much to my chagrin, though, Episode 4 of the Netflix series sneaks in issues surrounding a transgender child.
The novels, written by Ann M. Martin and published from 1986 to 2000, were wildly popular and sold 176 million copies. The Netflix show also is about a group of preteens and teenagers who operate their own babysitting service.
But I don’t appreciate Netflix using the sweet, nostalgic “Baby-Sitters Club” series as a Trojan horse to discuss a controversial and potentially harmful subject that young children often aren’t equipped to understand.
Netflix writer Rose Dommu posted a thread via the Netflix Twitter account to explain why, as a trans woman, the transgender episode of “Baby-Sitters Club” meant so much to her. The Twitter thread is worth reading, providing insight into exactly why I think this was a bad idea for the writers of the Netflix series to adapt the books into something more progressive.
Dommu writes: “This generation’s BSC handle[s] the same dramas as their original incarnations, with the circumstances updated for 2020.”
This is convenient and important: Parents who might give the OK for their children to watch Netflix’s “Baby-Sitter’s Club” because it’s just like the familiar book series might not appreciate this particular episode. Indeed, most of the series likely does stick more closely to the books, just not Episode 4, which definitely updates “circumstances” to reflect the very progressive era we now inhabit. Dommu calls this episode a “timely and poignant modernization.”
Mary Anne, one of the babysitters, ends up watching Bailey, a boy who has decided to be a girl. The scene the writers used to demonstrate this is related to clothing. Dommu describes the scene well:
Ready for an outfit change, Bailey explains that the closet is full of her “old clothes,” while her new clothes are much more sparkly—taste! Mary Anne understands immediately that Bailey knows who she is & has supportive parents who trust their daughter and want her to be happy.
Later in the episode, Mary Anne confides in her friend Dawn about babysitting a transgender child, Dawn, who prides herself on hailing from California, explains: “The same way that you know you’re right-handed, Bailey knows she’s a girl. And we all want our outsides to match our insides right? And it’s rad to have parents and a babysitter who get it. She’s really lucky.”
Mary Anne’s friend Dawn gives a thoughtful, educational, and compassionate explanation of trans identity — duh, she’s “from California.” This simple breakdown gives the show’s young viewers a powerful tool to shape their worldview. Maybe the children really are our future pic.twitter.com/zb0pJ4JJsP
Later, Bailey comes down with a fever and Mary Anne takes the child to the hospital. This is clearly a ploy to allow the child to experience what transgender people call being “misgendered.” The doctors refer to Bailey as “he” and suggest that he change into a blue gown for examination.
Mary Anne pulls the doctors aside and explains that even though he might look like a boy, and his chart might say he is a boy, and indeed he was born an actual boy, he feels like a girl. And therefore the doctors must refer to Bailey as a girl or they are “ignoring who she is” and making “her feel insignificant or humiliated.” The doctors, of course, apologize.
Dommu, writing the Twitter thread about the importance of the episode, explains: “What this episode ultimately gives me is hope. It illustrates what was articulated so perfectly in @Disclosure_Doc: You can’t be what you can’t see. Imagine the young trans children who are going to watch this & see a version of themselves who is actualized, supported, and HAPPY.”
I’m disappointed to see the writers adapting this great book series use it as an opportunity to sneak in such a complicated issue, which most audience members, likely between 7 and 15 years old, are unable to truly grasp—especially the younger ones.
That the creators of the show not only sneak in this subplot but later highlight it on the Netflix Twitter account as a point of pride shows how important it is to them to showcase progressive ideology, even to small children.
Research shows that simply encouraging children to transition socially is one of the more harmful ways to respond to gender dysphoria, which is clearly what Bailey is experiencing in the show. Many health care professionals encourage therapy first rather than a transition to the other sex. It’s too bad that option wasn’t shown here at all.
Of course, parents can use their own discretion when it comes to allowing their kids to watch this show. I have two daughters; I decided they could watch this episode and we would discuss it together. I then explained what I believed to be more accurate, honest, and helpful to young children about transgender ideology.
Other parents may choose not to allow their children to see it. That’s up to them.
“The Baby-Sitters Club” so far is a charming series that discusses topics that tweens already are thinking about, such as babysitting, school, friends, and boys.
Why introduce to them a topic that’s not only rare but actually harmful for kids? It’s disappointing to say the least. (For more from the author of “Netflix Sneaks Transgender Ideology Into New Tween Series” please click HERE)

More than one million people have signed a petition against a Netflix movie that implies Jesus Christ is gay.
“The First Temptation of Christ” is reportedly a satirical representation of Jesus Christ, his mother Mary, and his father Joseph, in which Jesus returns home for his birthday party with a friend named Orlando, according to the New York Daily News. The publication reports that Orlando continuously hints in the film that he and Jesus are more than friends. . .
The comedy group Porta dos Fundos (which translates to Back Door) created “The First Temptation of Christ” following their International Emmy Award-winning production of “The Last Hangover,” a movie which satirizes the biblical Last Supper, the last meal Jesus Christ shared with his disciples before he was crucified.
As of Friday afternoon, more than 1.4 million people had signed a Change.org petition demanding that the film be removed from Netflix and saying that the film “seriously offended Christians.” (Read more from “More Than a Million People Sign Petition Bashing Netflix Movie Implying Jesus Christ Is Gay” HERE)
