Man Arrested in Connection with NJ Shooting After Phone Number Found on Gunman

A man has been arrested in connection to a New Jersey shooting that left six dead, including the shooters, after his phone number was discovered on one of the suspected gunmen.

The FBI arrested Ahmed A-Hady, 35, on Saturday after finding his contact information on one of the suspected shooters who opened fire on a Jewish market in Jersey City on Tuesday. He was charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon.

Both suspected shooters, David Anderson, 47, and Francine Graham, 50, were found dead after a shootout with police. They killed four people, including a police officer, before succumbing to their wounds. The murders are being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism, and police believe the kosher deli was “targeted.” They also found that at least one of the gunmen had posted anti-Semitic messages online.

Authorities described a handwritten note found in the back pocket of Anderson that contained the phone number for A-Hady, as well as the address for a pawn shop about 35 miles away from the location of the shooting. A-Hady was convicted of attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance or analog by fraud in 2012, which banned him from owning firearms. Several handguns and rifles were discovered at the pawnshop, including “a large number of hollow-point bullets.” (Read more from “Man Arrested in Connection with NJ Shooting After Phone Number Found on Gunman” HERE)

Terrorists Who Shot up Kosher Market Intended to Attack Jewish School for Children

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said Friday that he believes the two suspects behind the Tuesday attack at a Jewish kosher market intended to target children at a Jewish school attached to the market. . .

The attack reportedly carried out by David Anderson and Francine Graham — who were both allegedly affiliated with the Black Hebrew Israelite movement — took the lives of at least six people, including a police officer and both suspects. . .

“It is pretty apparent that he goes to the adjacent door first and then turns,” Fulop said. “Secondly, it is pretty apparent from the amount of firepower and weapons he brought to that location. Clearly he had intentions of doing more damage than just murdering three people in a deli.”

Fulop promised the public that he would be forthcoming to the public with regard to any information about the attack.

“We will never know with 100 percent certainty as they are deceased, but based on those facts, it is pretty easy to conclude,” Fulop said.

Disarm Innocents and Release Gun Felons: Jersey City Attacker Had Gun Felonies but Was Released From Prison

Weak sentencing for gun felons plus serving as a sanctuary for criminal alien fugitives minus the ability of peaceful citizens to defend themselves equals New Jersey?

The Garden State has become a breeding ground for repeat violent offenders who can illegally own firearms, while peaceful citizens face the strictest gun control laws imaginable. The tragic case of the Jersey City attack on a kosher supermarket, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and an ace police detective, should spawn a national discussion on weak sentencing against gun felons paired against the ineffectiveness of broad gun control on the citizenry.

The nation watched in shock on Tuesday as David Anderson, 47, and his girlfriend Francine Graham, 50 entered a Jewish food store in Jersey City and killed three civilians during a hostage/shootout situation that lasted several hours and shut down part of the city. Anderson and Graham, who are now dead, are also believed to have ambushed Jersey City detective Joseph Seals, and there’s evidence they are connected to the murder of an Uber driver in neighboring Bayonne, New Jersey.

Jersey City, like most murders, is about criminal control, not gun control

There’s been a lot of focus on their association with the Black Hebrew Israelite sect, an anti-Semitic and black supremacist cult, and the fact that this was likely a hate crime targeting Jews in an era of growing anti-Semitism. But the bigger public policy discussion should revolve around the fact that while the owners of these types of stores must remain unarmed in a state like New Jersey, a man like David Anderson, who had an extensive criminal record and firearms violations, was able to get a hold of the rifles used in the attack. If government really wants to protect the Jewish community as well as other innocent residents of New Jersey, it should focus on keeping the good guys armed and keeping people like Anderson behind bars.

It turns out that, according to the New Jersey Department of Corrections records, Anderson was charged with weapons offenses in 2004, 2007, and 2011, yet he never spent a significant amount of time in prison and mainly got probation. He was also convicted on a drug charge in December 2008 for which he served no time. In 2009, he was arrested for domestic violence in Ohio, but spent just 30 days in jail. According to the New York Post, he was picked up by Portage County, Ohio, police again in April 2011 following another incident of domestic violence, and Ohio police discovered an outstanding warrant from Hudson County, New Jersey, for violating his probation on a previous gun felony. Ohio police did their job, but when he was extradited back to New Jersey, authorities there rewarded the probation violation with … more probation. Although he was sentenced to five years in prison in June 2011, he was released after just four months.

This trend of choosing probation over incarceration in order to dramatically reduce the prison population as an end goal has only grown exponentially in states like New Jersey since 2011. The total incarcerated population has plummeted by 31 percent from 2011 to 2019, even as the overall population has grown slightly. A man with Anderson’s record today would likely serve even less time, thereby creating an even weaker deterrent against murder and mayhem.

The sad “irony,” which isn’t that ironic when you study crime and gun control, is that New Jersey has the toughest gun laws in the nation. Nobody can carry a weapon outside their homes, and so-called assault weapons have been banned for years. As of this year, anyone in New Jersey who owns a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition is officially in possession of illegal contraband and is deemed a fourth-degree felon. Unlike magazine bans in other states, this one retroactively banned people from even owning such magazines in their homes, even though they had been purchased legally.

Here’s the enduring lesson of the Jersey City attacker and over 90 percent of other homicides in America. You can have all the gun control you want and it won’t stop shootings, but if you keep the known violent criminals, particularly violent gun felons, locked up, you will prevent the overwhelming number of homicides, which are committed by recidivists. If, on the other hand, you have gun control, but empty out the prisons to serve the idols of “criminal justice reform,” you get a security nightmare.

For example, in Baltimore, another bastion of both gun control and weak sentencing against criminals, the average murder suspect in 2017 had nine prior arrests, and 70 percent had prior arrests for drugs, according to city police data. The people doing all the crime are barely serving time. In total, 85 percent of murder suspects had a criminal record, and 44 percent were previously arrested for gun crimes.

One can only imagine how bad this attack would have been had Anderson usefully detonated the pipe bomb he built inside his U-Haul truck parked outside the kosher store. Remember, when you focus on the guns and let out the criminals, they have many ways of harming people with all sorts of weapons.

Leftists are using mass shootings to promote counterintuitive gun control policies. According to the Washington Post, there have been 1,196 victims of mass shootings since 1966. But in total, there have been 943,591 homicide victims in America from 1966 through 2018. Thus, 99.9 percent of all homicides in this country were committed by general murderers, the overwhelming majority of them being known criminals with rap sheets who were not deterred and punished properly. Some of the mass shooters who were first-timers were the exceptions.

The bottom line is if we locked up repeat violent offenders more often and closed more of the loopholes allowing them out – rather than pushing a further weakening of the criminal justice system – most murders could be prevented. Yes, that is an outcome that is worth the cost of building prisons.

Inviting in thousands of foreign criminals, including gun felons, while stealing guns from New Jersians

What’s worse than releasing violent felons while stripping innocent citizens of the right to defend themselves against those felons? New Jersey is a complete sanctuary state that invites in and harbors other countries’ criminals.

Earlier this year, N.J. Attorney General Gurbir Grewal issued a directive banning law enforcement from, among other things, participating “in civil immigration enforcement operations conducted by ICE” and providing “ICE with access to state or local law enforcement resources, including equipment, office space, databases, or property, unless those resources are readily available to the public.”

Even those illegal aliens detained by local law enforcement “with violent or serious offenses – such as murder, rape, arson, assault, bias crimes, and domestic violence offenses” may only be held for ICE until 11:59 pm of that day!

ICE just released a report showing that illegal aliens who were the subject of detainers had accrued 2,500 homicide charges just from this year’s cases! Given New Jersey’s large illegal immigrant population (the fifth in the nation), how many of those completely preventable murders occurred in the state?

In addition, Democrats in the state legislature are close to passing a law granting illegal aliens driver’s licenses.

Earlier this year, ICE engaged in a targeted operation to apprehend 123 criminal aliens caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs who were released by state and local law enforcement. Some also had homicide, firearms, and child molestation charges

Liberals often ask how many people have to die before we “do something” on guns. New Jersey has done a lot on guns. The one thing it hasn’t done is actually lock up the bad guys with the guns and help remove foreign criminals, thereby ensuring that good guys, who are deterred by such laws, are the only ones without guns. How many people need to die at the hands of repeat violent offenders and illegal alien criminals before we stop this madness of prison release and sanctuary states? WATCH: TV Host Implies New Jersey Shooters Were ‘White Nationalists’… There’s Just One Problem

“The View” co-host Joy Behar implied Wednesday that two shooters who killed three civilians and a police officer in a Jersey City, New Jersey, shootout on Tuesday were “white nationalists.”

The two shooters, one male and one female, were both African-American. The male shooter, 47-year-old David Anderson, reportedly posted anti-police and anti-Semitic rhetoric on his social media page and was once a follower of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement, according to the New York Times. Members of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement, per CNN, believe “blacks are the true descendants of biblical Jews.” Both Anderson and Francine Graham were killed during Tuesday’s shootout.

During a Wednesday “hot topics” round with fellow “The View” co-hosts and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Behar asked Christie to provide more detail about the shooting. . .

“It’s a really terrible thing, and we need to pray for this detective’s family,” Christie said. “Those five children lost their dad.”

“Yes,” Behar said. “You will concede that the nationals — these white nationalists have been let out of their holes.”

Jersey City Shooting: Police Officer Among 6 Killed in Shooting; Gunmen in Deadly Shooting Targeted Jewish Market

By ABC 7. One police officer was killed and two others were wounded, and five people were dead inside a grocery store following a wild shootout and standoff in Jersey City Tuesday afternoon.

The slain officer, identified as Detective Joseph Seals, was a 13-year veteran, husband, and father of five.

“It’s a really tough day for the city of Jersey City,” Mayor Steven Fulop said. “Even more than being a police officer that loved Jersey City, that was probably responsible for or one of the leading officers for the most guns getting off the street, from what I understand, he was also a husband and a father of five children.”

Authorities say the incident started at Bay View Cemetery just after noon, with Seals, 40, fatally shot and a second officer wounded in the shoulder, and was possibly related to a drug or gun deal gone bad.

They say two men dressed in black then fled in a stolen U-Haul to the area of JC Kosher Supermarket on Martin Luther King Drive, where they continued firing at responding officers. (Read more from “Jersey City Shooting: Police Officer Among 6 Killed in Shooting” HERE)

Jersey City Mayor: Gunmen in Deadly Shooting Targeted Jewish Market

By Washington Examiner. The shooters in a fatal gunfight in Jersey City, New Jersey, intentionally targeted the kosher supermarket in which must of the shootout took place, according to the city’s mayor.

Six people, including one police officer and two suspects, were killed in the gun battle that unfolded Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, the shooting may have started in a cemetery before the shooters fled to a bodega owned by a Jewish family from Brooklyn, New York. Police later found five of the dead inside the store.

While an investigation into the matter is still ongoing, Mayor Steven Fulop indicated that initial investigation suggests the suspects targeted the market. . .

It is unclear if there is an active anti-Semitic hate crime investigation into the incident. (Read more from “Jersey City Mayor: Gunmen in Deadly Shooting Targeted Jewish Market” HERE)

Mayor Calls LGBTQ Rights Movement ‘an Affront to Almighty God’

A New Jersey mayor called the LGBTQ rights movement “an affront to almighty God” at a town council meeting and warned that people who support “unrighteous laws” will be held accountable.

Barnegat Township Mayor Alfonso Cirulli, a former assistant principal, began Tuesday by condemning a state law that requires LGBTQ-inclusive material be taught in public school. He said the law “crossed over the line into absurdity” and politicians “have no right to promote the LGBT agenda.”

He said, “There is no hate or bigotry intended here,” and that his comments did not represent the Barnegat Township Committee. Barnegat Township’s legislative body is called a committee. The town of about 20,000 is on New Jersey’s south shore. . .

In January, New Jersey followed California to become the second state in the country to require that public schools teach LGBTQ- and disability-inclusive curricula. (Read more from “New Jersey Mayor Calls LGBTQ Rights Movement ‘an Affront to Almighty God'” HERE)

State’s Assisted Suicide Law to Allow Terminally Ill Patients ‘Right to Die’

New Jersey’s assisted suicide law goes into effect Thursday, allowing terminally ill patients to request a prescription from their doctors that would aid in ending their lives.

The law, which took eight years to pass in the state until Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy signed it in April, allows New Jersey residents with a terminal, incurable diagnosis that would end the person’s life in six months to request a prescription medication that would end their lives.

Patients would be required to ask their doctor twice in 15 days and submit a written request witnessed by two people stating that they are “fully informed” of alternatives, including palliative care and pain control. . .

The law is gaining momentum in several states— including Oregon, Washington, California, Vermont, Hawaii, and Colorado— and state health department records show that 3,478 people have died using assisted suicide methods since the law was passed. . .

“Physician-assisted suicide is fundamentally incompatible with the physician’s role as healer, would be difficult or impossible to control, and would pose serious societal risks,” the American Medical Association (AMA) wrote in May. The Next Battle: New Jersey Removes Mississippi State Flag From Park Due to Confederate Emblem

We’re still grappling with whether or not we should remove confederate monuments, but New Jersey is taking the battle over an ugly part of American history to the next level.

Gov. Phil Murphy (D-NJ) ordered the Mississippi flag to be removed at Liberty State Park and replaced with the American flag, citing the Magnolia State flag’s confederate emblem.

“New Jersey’s strength is rooted in our diverse communities,” Murphy said in a press release regarding the order. “The Confederate symbol displayed on the Mississippi state flag is reprehensible and does not reflect our values of inclusivity and equality. I applaud Senator Cunningham for bringing this issue in her district to my attention.” . . .

Buzzfeed also reported that the Mississippi flag is the only one in the country that still contains the Confederate battle emblem, as Georgia replaced its flag in 2004 to remove the emblem. Mississippi voted in 2001 — long before the outrage over centuries-old statutes — to keep its flag the way it was.

This is not to say that everyone in Mississippi currently feels that way or still feels that way. Legislators in the state have tried and are trying to change the flag. State Sen. Kenneth Wayne Jones, a Democrat, told Buzzfeed that “the time is now to change our flag.” (Read more from “The Next Battle: New Jersey Removes Mississippi State Flag From Park Due to Confederate Emblem” HERE)

Never Go Full Socialist: This U.S. City Is Testing Something That Even Some European Countries Have Rejected

What is it with New Jersey and falling in love with bad ideas? Seriously, from high taxes to suffocating regulations that have made it a dead zone for business, New Jersey Democrats find new creative ways to tell the rest of the country that it’s being run by complete and total morons. No wonder why people are leaving this state in droves. In Newark, they’re going full socialist, testing a universal basic income program (via Fox News):

New Jersey’s largest city plans to test whether universal basic income is feasible, making it the latest government to flirt with a program that would guarantee income for residents whether or not they have a job.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka announced his decision last week to create a task force and pilot program to study whether the program is possible.

“We believe in Universal Basic Income, especially in a time where studies have shown that families that have a crisis of just $400 a month may experience a setback that may be difficult, even impossible to recover from,” Baraka reportedly said, adding that one-third of the city still lives in poverty.

But the people were happier, and they didn’t have jobs. So, happier, but it didn’t give them any urgency to find work. Yeah, that’s just another welfare program that’s going to waste taxpayer dollars. We all know this. I know I’m preaching to the choir, but at least you can be happier while jobless in Newark, New Jersey. University Bans Chick-Fil-A

Last month, a dean from Rider University in New Jersey announced her resignation over the school’s decision to ban Chick-fil-A from becoming an on-campus restaurant.

In November, the university removed Chick-Fil-A from a list of possible new restaurant franchises to bring to campus, claiming that the fast food chain is “perceived to be in opposition to the LGBTQ+ community.”

Cynthia Newman, the dean of the College of Business announced her resignation — which will become effective on August, 31 — in a statement that reflected on the handling of the situation, Campus Reform reports.

“As some of you already know, I am a committed follower of Jesus Christ. As such I endeavor every day to do exactly what Chick-fil-A puts forwards as its overarching corporate value: to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to me and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with me,” Newman said in the announcement. “During my initial conversations, I expressed how disappointed I was, not that the decision has been made to not have Chick-fil-A on campus … but rather that the University leadership had made such a judgemental statement about Chick-fil-A’s values — values that reflect the essence of the Christian as well as other faiths.” . . .

“Unfortunately, that did not happen,” Newman said. “Instead a second email was issued without any type of an apology and I, along with other campus leaders, was given a set of talking points about the Chick-fil-A decision that we were to use to respond to those who were critical of the decision. I could not, in a good conscience as a committed Christian, adhere to those talking points.” (Read more from “University Bans Chick-Fil-A” HERE)
