New Jersey Invites in Violent Criminal Aliens While Stripping Citizens of the Right to Self-Defense

For those of you living in free states, here is a glimpse of the living hell endured by those residing in blue states.

When the clock strikes midnight Tuesday morning, anyone in New Jersey who owns a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition is officially in possession of illegal contraband and is deemed a fourth-degree felon. Unlike previous magazine bans, this one retroactively bans people from even owning such magazines in their homes, even though they had been purchased legally. At the same time, the most violent criminal aliens will be actively shielded from deportation by state officials, against federal law. The inmates are running the asylum, while the law-abiding citizens and federal law enforcement are treated like criminals.

While the courts create insane rights for violent criminal aliens, they refuse to recognize the most unambiguous right to bear arms or the constitutional prohibition on ex post facto laws. New Jersey has become a sanctuary to the most dangerous criminal aliens and gangs, many of whom engage in gun trafficking, but peaceful citizens are stripped of the right to self-defense and treated like criminals.

Governor Phil Murphy signed the bill into law in June, giving residents 180 days to discard their magazines of higher capacity than 10, permanently modify them, or transfer them to someone who is legally able to possess them. The ban includes everyone except active-duty military and retired police officers under certain circumstances. Veterans are not excluded at all.

Late last week, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, in a 2-1 decision, ruled that the Second Amendment is not a real right subject to strict scrutiny against its regulation. As such, it ruled that the desire to stop gun violence is enough reason to retroactively ban all common magazines in use for basic self-defense and recreation.

The only right the courts will not recognize

Since the Heller ruling, five circuit courts have essentially abolished the ruling by allowing states to ban common weapons, common magazines, and any ability to carry any firearms outside the home. Until now, the Supreme Court, led by the clever obfuscator Chief Justice John Roberts, has refused to overturn these cases. Justice Thomas complained that the lower courts were “resisting this Court’s decisions in Heller and McDonald and are failing to protect the Second Amendment to the same extent that they protect other constitutional rights.”

The New Jersey law is more draconian than anything enacted so far because it bans the passive presence in one’s own home of an item that has been legal until now. Aside from running completely afoul of the Second Amendment, this law violates Art. I Sec. 10, which bars states from enacted ex post facto laws. The Supreme Court (Calder v. Bull, 1798) defines ex post facto as a law that “makes an action done before the passing of the law, and which was innocent when done, criminal; and punishes such action.” Crazily, with the courts commandeering every political issue from the political branches of government, granting citizens relief from ex post facto laws was the quintessential exercise of judicial review that Hamilton envisioned judges would use.

These same liberal judges are subjecting governmental actions against illegal immigrants to strict scrutiny in order to protect newly concocted rights, yet they refuse to use this standard against regulations on the most foundational and unambiguous right of self-defense. As Judge Stephanos Bibas, a Trump appointee, noted in his dissent, “Though the majority purports to use intermediate scrutiny, it actually recreates the rational-basis test forbidden by Heller.” In fact, the Heller opinion explicitly barred judges from using any “interest-balancing approach.”

Sadly, both in gun and immigration cases, the Supreme Court is callously allowing lower courts to violate settled law.

Just to illustrate the reckless nature of this law, the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, a pro-gun group that is fighting the law in court, observes that there is already a state law prohibiting the transfer or disposal of high capacity magazines, thereby placing citizens in a catch-22.

The law is the law … except for illegal aliens

Now, juxtapose this fascist law and absurd court ruling to New Jersey’s other recent policy making the state a sanctuary for criminal alien transnational crime syndicates, gangbangers, and drug cartels. Last Thursday, N.J. Attorney General Gurbir Grewal issued a directive banning law enforcement from, among other things, participating “in civil immigration enforcement operations conducted by ICE” and providing “ICE with access to state or local law enforcement resources, including equipment, office space, databases, or property, unless those resources are readily available to the public.”

Even those illegals detained by local law enforcement “with violent or serious offenses – such as murder, rape, arson, assault, bias crimes, and domestic violence offenses,” may only be held for ICE until 11:59 pm of that day!

What are the results? The state has become a magnet for some of the worst transnational gangsters and drug traffickers who commit the most heinous crimes imaginable, in addition to poisoning thousands in the state with deadly substances. Just over the weekend, ICE completed an operation resulting in the arrest of 105 illegals, of which 80 percent “had prior criminal convictions and/or pending criminal charges.” The charges included child prostitution, domestic violence, drug trafficking, firearms charges, assault and robbery – and also included violent gang members.

Several of the individuals were previously released by sanctuary counties that refused to honor detainers. A number of others living in the state will now be set free unless ICE gets to them first.

And what about the drug crisis? Roughly 3,000 people are dying every year in New Jersey due to drug overdoses. And no, this is not a prescription problem. Prescriptions have plummeted to the lowest levels in recent memory nationwide and particularly in New Jersey, yet deaths from illicit drugs brought in by illegal alien traffickers have skyrocketed. Just 12 percent of the deaths in 2017 were attributed to oxy or morphine, and as I’ve noted before, most of those people are mixing them with illicit drugs. New Jersey is one of the fastest-growing crisis states, yet the same people who decry the crisis and blame it on doctors and pain patients are actively shielding the very criminal alien networks truly responsible for it.

Let’s not forget that these are the very sorts of people that are convicted for drug trafficking in the federal system, but often committed even worse crimes – and would be released early under the First Step Act. But sanctuary cities are already releasing them, and they go on to commit violence in other states.

Just last month, Luis Rodrigo Perez, an illegal who was apprehended by Middlesex County, New Jersey, for domestic violence was released in defiance of an ICE detainer. He went on to commit a triple homicide in Missouri.

Todd Lyons, acting Field Office Director of Boston’s ICE office, told me in an exclusive interview that he is particularly concerned about the effect of sanctuary states on one another, exacerbating each other’s problems and encouraging criminal aliens to move from one to another. “When other states, especially in the northeast, have a sanctuary police where violent and egregious offenders are released, it creates a problem for states like Massachusetts, where other sanctuary jurisdictions do not factor in criminal history. So, Massachusetts could have an illegal alien arrested for no valid driver’s license released because of the lack of coordination, yet the same alien may have a violent criminal history in a state like New Jersey or New York.”

These liberal sanctuary politicians release real, violent gun felons and are weak on crime but then take away the right of peaceful people to arm themselves, not only on the streets, an act clearly protected by the Second Amendment, but even in their homes, at a time when they need their right to self-defense the most. Mom’s Actions Help Stop a Potential Mass Killing in Kentucky

By The Blaze. Police have credited a New Jersey mother with helping to thwart a man’s plans to carry out a mass killing hundreds of miles away in Kentucky.

According to a report Monday by WTXF-TV, Koeberle Bull of Lumberton, New Jersey, recently received a Facebook message from a man she didn’t know. . .

Bull took a look at the message’s contents and was shocked to discover crude, harassing language toward her and her children.

She said that she checked out the man’s profile and discovered his name was Dylan Jarrell. Jarrell claimed to hail from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, some 650 miles away from Bull’s New Jersey home, and featured a photo of Jarrell posing with a weapon. . .

The Kentucky State Police took Bull’s complaint seriously and approached Jarrell, 21, for questioning as he was pulling out of his driveway. (Read more from “Mom’s Actions Help Stop a Potential Mass Killing in Kentucky” HERE)

Police: New Jersey Mom Stops Potential School Shooting in Kentucky

By Fox 29. Police say a 21-year-old man was minutes away from carrying out a school shooting in Lexington, Kentucky, when federal agents arrested him. They say if it were not for a mother hundreds of miles away in New Jersey, we might be broadcasting the nation’s next mass shooting. . .

Officials also believe Jarrel was planning to carry out an attack on a local school before the FBI made an arrest. Inside his home, police found a gun, 200 rounds of ammo, a Kevlar vest and a detailed plan of attack.

“I can tell you he was caught backing out of this driveway,” Kentucky State Police Commissioner Richard Sanders told FOX 29.

On Monday, Jarrell pleaded not guilty to making terroristic threats. Meanwhile, 650 miles away, a New Jersey mother is being hailed as a hero. (Read more from “Police: New Jersey Mom Stops Potential School Shooting in Kentucky” HERE)

Trouble for Imam Who Wants Every Last Jew Dead

An imam from New Jersey who called on Allah to destroy every Jew is in trouble.

The Times of Israel reported Aymen Elkasaby apparently is going through a retraining period after making the comment that Allah should “kill them down to the very last one.”

He’s from the Islamic Center of Jersey City, and the report says he gave a sermon on November 24 where he called on “Allah to wreak vengeance” on Jews.

“That sermon came days after U.S. President Donald Trump defied warnings from the world and recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,” the report said.

According to reports on the dispute, Elkasaby also said suggestions that the recent terrorist attack on the Sinai Peninsula mosque where some 300 worshippers died was done by Islamic State were “ridiculous.” (Read more from “Trouble for Imam Who Wants Every Last Jew Dead” HERE)

New Jersey Authorities Arrest 79 Alleged Sex Offenders in Sting Operation

Authorities in New Jersey announced Friday that they arrested 79 suspected sex offenders in a nine-month-long investigation aimed at protecting children from sexual predators.

The investigation, called “Operation Safety Net,” resulted in the apprehension of suspects ranging in age from 14 to 75 years old and included a police officer, swimming coach and youth minister, The Inquirer reported. The suspects were arrested for different sex offenses, including possession of child pornography, sending inappropriate photos to children and sexual assault.

New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino said a California man and an Indiana man solicited undercover detectives to transport a young girl to their states so they could have sex with her. Porrino said the men they arrested “lurked in the shadows of the internet and on social media,” FOX29 reported. Where in the World Is Sen. Bob Menendez, New Jersey DEMOCRAT?

Congress has a busy few months ahead of it, but one member won’t be around for much of it. Instead, he’ll be in a federal courtroom in New Jersey, standing trial in the Senate’s biggest corruption trial in a generation.

The congressman in question is Sen. Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey. (Bonus points: Guess which one of those descriptors the New York Times glossed over at first.) He’ll be standing trial with his longtime friend, Florida ophthalmologist and alleged “patron” Dr. Salomon Melgen, on 18 counts of fraud and bribery.

Prosecutors allege that the pair engaged in a years-long pay-for-play relationship, in which Menendez “sold his office” for cushy vacations and political donations, while kicking back various favors that benefitted Melgen both personally and professionally.

Both men have plead not guilty and deny the claims.

But it’s not just the senator in hot water; he’s bringing the rest of his Senate colleagues with him.

The federal judge in the case had denied Menendez’s requests to work around his legislative schedule, and with such a busy legislative session between now and the end of the year, Menendez taking time away from the chamber is going to put a real strain on the Democrat minority when every single vote counts.

On a recent episode of CRTV’s Capitol Hill Brief, we ask: “Where in the world is Sen. Bob Menendez?” and come up with one clear answer: In a whole heap of trouble.

Man Who Doesn’t Know How to Swim Rescues Boy in Hotel Pool

Police say a Pennsylvania man who doesn’t know how to swim jumped in and rescued a boy from drowning in a pool at a New Jersey hotel.

Fairfield police say a Paterson woman and a male companion were in the pool at the La Quinta Inn on Thursday with her five children, who range in ages from one to nine. Police say none knew how to swim, and the 9-year-old went under water. (Read more from “Man Who Doesn’t Know How to Swim Rescues Boy in Hotel Pool” HERE)

If You Want to Fly a Political Flag, Don’t Do It in New Jersey

prison-553836_960_720Vexillologists beware! If you fly a flag in New Jersey, you might find yourself in a jail cell.

Joseph Hornick flew a “Trump – Make America Great Again!” flag on his property only to have the police show up at his door and instruct him to remove his flag. It turns out a local city ordinance makes it illegal to post political signs more than thirty days before an election, so if Hornick continues to let his Trump flag fly, he could end up with a $2,000 fine, a 90 day stint in jail or both.

Now, I’m no Trump fan, but I am a fan of free speech, and telling someone they cannot fly a flag or post a sign in favor of a certain political candidate makes a mockery of our fundamental American right to speak our mind.

Though a real problem, laws like this always make me roll my eyes for the regulations are so arbitrary. We are supposed to believe that flying a flag that supports Trump is a menace to society that must be stopped with the full force of law, and yet the same guy who is banned from flying a flag in his local neighborhood can go online and tell the entire world, “Trump will make America great again!” without consequence. We are told political signs are bad and must be stopped, but there’s no problem with people wearing T-shirts supporting Trump, so are we to believe that a stationary political message is somehow more threatening than a mobile political message? This local township is telling us that it’s a travesty of justice to post a political sign thirty-one days before an election but thirty days before an election, it’s all a wonderful part of the electoral process? What nonsense!

I think most people would agree that this law serves no purpose, and yet this is just a single example of nonsensical restrictions on the election process. There are many equally arbitrary laws which bizarrely win popular support. Why is it perfectly okay to give a political candidate $2,700 and yet completely illegal to give the candidate $2,700.01? I personally find it difficult to imagine how a single penny could pose that much of a threat to the nation. We are supposed to believe it’s totally wrong to give a dime over $2,700 to a political candidate, yet it’s perfectly okay to give an additional $5,000 to a political party or a PAC (Political Action Committee) that in turn will give a candidate that money. You can even give an unlimited amount of money to a Super PAC which will not give the money directly to the candidate but will spend every dime on ads and other political tools designed to get a single candidate elected. How does any of this make sense?

Why have so many Americans been convinced that attempts to influence the political system are a bad thing? Isn’t the entire point of a representative government encapsulated in the idea that citizens can influence the political landscape?

Here’s my crazy idea. People should be able to do what they choose with what is theirs. Is it your property? Then fly whatever flag you want to fly. Is it your money? Then give to whomever you darn well please.

How could a rational person come to any other conclusion? (For more from the author of “If You Want to Fly a Political Flag, Don’t Do It in New Jersey” please click HERE)

Prop Pistol May Cost New Jersey Actor 10 Years Behind Bars

New Jersey’s bizarre gun laws have struck again. An actor who used a pellet gun while filming a movie now faces 10 years behind bars on felony possession of a firearm charges.

Carlo Goias, whose screen name is Carlo Bellario, was recently filming “Vendetta Games” when he was arrested in a residential neighborhood for having an Airsoft gun. The Toms River resident was holding a plastic toy outside a vehicle during a chase scene, which prompted some 9-1-1 calls. He was then forced to spend four days in jail while trying to raise $10,000 bail.

“I was shooting a movie – I wasn’t committing a crime intentionally,” Goias told the Associated Press on Wednesday. “Robert De Niro doesn’t ask Marty Scorsese if he has gun permits. We’re actors. That’s for the production company to worry about.”

Goias rejected a plea deal offer Tuesday that would have resulted in less than one year in prison. Prosecutors said prior convictions for theft and burglary could result in a 10-year sentence.

“I pretended to shoot out the window; they were going to dub in the sound later,” Goias said. “We get back, and within a couple of minutes we’re surrounded by cop cars.” (Read more from “Prop Pistol May Cost New Jersey Actor 10 Years Behind Bars” HERE)

Here’s the Phrase Angry Muslims Are Using to Taunt NJ School Officials [+video]

muslims-jersey-2-575x290Muslim parents taunted school officials in Jersey City, New Jersey after schools would not close for Eid al-Adha.

The Blaze reported:

The Jersey City Board of Education voted last week not to close schools for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, one of the most important holidays for Muslims.

School board members in New Jersey made their decision Thursday despite appeals from Muslim attendees who showed up to advocate that the board change the school schedule. . .

New Jersey Retiree Facing 10 Years in Prison for Having an Antique Pistol During Traffic Stop

By Nina Golgowski. A 300-year-old flintlock pistol may be the exact kind of weapon the Second Amendment was written to protect.

But for 72-year-old Gordon van Gilder — who’s a collector of 18th century antiques — he says he’s facing up to 10 years in prison because he was found possessing such a weapon at a New Jersey traffic stop.

“Beware of New Jersey. Don’t come here. Don’t live here,” the retired teacher recently told NRA News following his big bust for unlawful, felony weapons possession in the Garden State.

The Cumberland County resident said his own honesty got the best of him when he voluntarily revealed the unloaded, antique firearm to prying deputies late last year during a search of his vehicle.

Even though antique guns aren’t considered “firearms” under Federal law, New Jersy’s gun laws treat them like any other modern-day weapon. (Read more about the New Jersey retiree HERE)

5 Things You Need to Know About Rights-Violating Police Checkpoints

By The Daily Sheeple. It seems that every time we turn around there is some new type of checkpoint or a new way for police to stop innocent people. The fact that you are a law-abiding citizen who hasn’t been drinking is not always enough to keep you safe from police abuse at checkpoints.

The National Motorists Association has put together a helpful list of five key points to consider when dealing with the rights-violating, freedom-diminishing police checkpoints. . .

Q. Are roadblocks legal? A. The US Supreme Court has found roadblocks to be legal for a variety of purposes, the most prominent being so-called “sobriety check points.” There is a longer history of roadblock approvals related to checking vehicles near or at national border crossings. . .

Q. Do I have to answer the questions posed to me at a roadblock? A. You do not have to answer any questions, particularly questions that would be self-incriminating. You may be required (forced by threat of arrest) to show your drivers license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance, if the state requires these items to be present in your vehicle.

Q. Can they search my car? A. Your car can only be searched under the following circumstances: You voluntarily give the police permission to search your vehicle. The Police have a warrant to search your vehicle. The police have “probable cause” or “reasonable suspicion” based on a reasonable explanation of why they believe you have illegal items in your vehicle. They must be able to explain what they think they will find and why they think said items are in your vehicle. (Read more from this story HERE)
