NYT to Remove ‘Potentially Insensitive’ Words From Wordle

The New York Times said it is editing Wordle’s puzzles with the intent of removing offensive words.

The news comes after a user noticed on Wednesday the solution for Wordle puzzle #284 appeared to offer two different options. While one person first solved the puzzle with the word “harry,” the other solved it with the word “stove.” When asked why there were two words, a representative from the newspaper affirmed that the answer had been changed that day.

While most people in the United States may use Harry as a name, the word harry means “to harass, agitate, or trouble by or as if by repeated attacks; beleaguer,” according to Dictionary.com. (Read more from “NYT to Remove ‘Potentially Insensitive’ Words From Wordle” HERE)

Donald Trump Responds to NYT Admission on Hunter Biden Emails

Former President Donald Trump on Friday responded to the New York Times admitting the emails found on a laptop at a repair shop in Delaware belonged to Hunter Biden and are authentic.

Trump said in a statement: “The New York Times just admitted that it participated in an effort to rig the election for Joe Biden.”

“Read the article by the New York Post here,” he added, linking to a scathing New York Post editorial slamming the Times for ignoring its breaking reporting on the emails two years ago, not attempting to authenticate the emails at that time, and printing Democrats’ statements calling the reports’ credibility into question.” (Read more from “Donald Trump Responds to NYT Admission on Hunter Biden Emails” HERE)

Twitter Suspends Account That Shared Video Reportedly Exposing NYT Reporter (VIDEO)

Twitter suspended an account that reportedly exposed a New York Times (NYT) reporter slamming his colleagues for their reaction to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The account, @UnmaskNYT, was suspended as of Wednesday after it posted a video from Project Veritas appearing to show NYT reporter Matthew Rosenberg calling his younger colleagues “f*cking bitches” for “going on about their trauma.”

The video remains on Youtube and several tweets linking to the video remain active on Twitter, as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Daily Caller has reached out to Twitter regarding the suspension but did not receive a response at the time of publication.

In the video, Rosenberg, who is a national security correspondent for NTY, appears to claim “there were a ton of FBI informants amongst the people who attacked the capitol.” (Read more from “Twitter Suspends Account That Shared Video Reportedly Exposing NYT Reporter (VIDEO)” HERE)

The New York Times Makes a Stunning Admission About CDC Data on Vaccines

The New York Times made an eye-popping admission on Sunday regarding data collected by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on Covid-19 vaccines.

In an article titled, “The C.D.C. Isn’t Publishing Large Portions of the Covid Data It Collects,” reporter Apoorva Mandavilli writes: “For more than a year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has collected data on hospitalizations for Covid-19 in the United States and broken it down by age, race and vaccination status. But it has not made most of the information public.”

Mandavilli, who covers science and global health for the Times, reported that the agency has published “only a tiny fraction of the data it has collected” since the pandemic began, including data on booster efficacy for 18 – 49 year-olds, a tremendous chunk of the U.S. population.

Reasons listed include bureaucracy, sample size, and not being “ready for prime time,” but one that’s definitely set to raise lots of eyebrows is the claim that the data could be “misinterpreted” by Covid vaccine skeptics.

The NYT FINALLY Admitted What We’ve Known About Natural Immunity and COVID

The CDC has finally admitted that those with natural immunity had six times the protection as those who were vaccinated when the Delta wave hit. So, obviously—it’s not shocking that those with natural immunity represented a lower percentage of deaths and hospitalizations during this wave. It’s a thing, folks. We’ve known it for months. The experts and the media are just showing up. They’re late to the party (via NYT):

By the week beginning Oct. 3, however, vaccinated people with a prior diagnosis fared best against the Delta variant. Unvaccinated people with a history of Covid also had lower rates of infection and hospitalization than those protected by vaccines alone.

The data are consistent with trends observed in international studies, the researchers said.

Waning of vaccine-derived immunity may explain why vaccinated people were less protected from infection with the Delta variant than those who had a prior diagnosis, the researchers said.

A recent study of employees at the Cleveland Clinic suggested that while vaccination does not add much benefit to a prior bout for the first many months, it may offer better protection against symptomatic illness over the long term than does immunity from a previous infection.

Corporate Media’s Jan. 6 Anniversary Coverage Is All About Silencing Republicans

A lengthy New York Times editorial over the weekend has set the stage for this week’s Jan. 6 anniversary coverage. “Every Day Is Jan. 6 Now,” declare the Times editors, warning that Republican lawmakers in 41 states “have been trying to advance the goals of the Jan. 6 rioters — not by breaking laws but by making them.”

The argument itself, that tweaking state election law is somehow a subversion of democracy, is absurd and incredibly lazy. But it’s important to note, if only because it will serve as the baseline narrative for the entire corporate media’s Jan. 6 coverage this week.

Their message — they will all have more or less the same message — is simple: all Republicans are insurrectionists, the GOP is the enemy of the people, and the only way to preserve American democracy is to ensure that only Democrats can win elections.

To make this case, the Times’ editors had to stage a kind of linguistic insurrection. Lawful, constitutional efforts by elected representatives to change state election laws amount, in the Times’ telling, to a “bloodless, legalized” insurrection that “that no police officer can arrest and that no prosecutor can try in court.”

That’s no different than saying “speech is violence.” It’s nonsensical. By definition, there’s no such thing as a “bloodless, legalized” insurrection, any more than there could be a “mostly peaceful” riot. That said, the Times editors are wrong about one thing: state laws, including state election laws, can and often are challenged in court. Democrats Prepare to Dump Joe Biden Now That He’s Served His Purpose; Pelosi’s Majority Crumbles: Three Democrats Announce Retirement Within 24 Hours

By The Federalist. When The New York Times begins publishing op-eds saying Joe Biden should not run again, and that he should announce it soon, then the gig is officially up. Biden is a lame duck. Perhaps someone should tell him.

Columnist Bret Stephens is right to note that the president would be 86 years old at the time of the next election cycle, and that he now “seems … uneven. Often cogent, but sometimes alarmingly incoherent.” More simply, Joe is old and tottering—and he’s unpopular to a startling degree.

As Stephens notes, even passage of a multi-trillion-dollar “infrastructure” spending bill didn’t boost his numbers much. He suggests the president liberate his party by freeing new (and younger) candidates to begin exploring a path to the presidency.

Sure, the question of Joe’s future “need(s) to be discussed candidly, not just whispered constantly.” At the same time, can we also ask the other obvious question candidly?

Why did the media cover for an elderly septuagenarian with clear age-related issues, thrusting him into a job he was never truly capable of holding—and subjecting the nation to a dangerous period without a strong leader? It’s fine to have a mea culpa moment, and truth delivered late is better than truth denied forever, but as the nation stumbles along with a puppet president there should be some accountability. Pelosi’s Majority Crumbles: Three Democrats Announce Retirement Within 24 Hours

By Breitbart. Three vulnerable Democrats announced they would not be seeking reelection to the House of Representatives within 24 hours of each other, bringing the total of House Democrats not seeking reelection to 23.

Rep. Albio Sires (D-NJ), Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), and Chairwoman of the House Appropriations subcommittee overseeing immigration issues, Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), announced they would not run for reelection within 24 hours of each other.

Sires became the twenty-first Democrat to bow out when he confirmed to the New Jersey Globe he would not seek reelection. He is expected to make an official announcement before the end of the year. While Sires is in a solidly blue district, the announcement came as the state’s Legislative Redistricting Commission has been considering new maps to approve. However, his open seat would reportedly not affect the outcome.

During his time in Congress, he has been a close confidant to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., now that he is the president, voting with Pelosi 100 percent of the time in the current Congress to help pass partisan agenda items.

Murphy became the twenty-second Democrat to fold when she told Politico, “It’s been a real honor for me to serve in Congress, but it does come at a personal sacrifice. My time away has been hard on my family and my kids and on me.” While the proposed redistricting map is waiting to be approved by the Florida legislature, it would essentially delete her congressional seat. Insulting and Absurd: Woke Claim That ‘Rational Thinking’ Is a White Male Thing Is Ridiculous

George Orwell famously said that “there are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them.”

His adage now applies to anyone associated with academia in any capacity.

The New York Times ran a report the other day on the canceling of University of Chicago geophysicist Dorian Abbot for his dissenting views on affirmative action. The paper quoted a Williams College geosciences professor, Phoebe A. Cohen, who supports Abbot’s shunning. She explained her dim view of academic freedom thusly: “This idea of intellectual debate and rigor as the pinnacle of intellectualism comes from a world in which white men dominated.”

Ah, yes, that poisoned fruit of the patriarchy — intellectual debate and rigor.

This idea isn’t new, even if Cohen expressed it in a memorably pithy and direct way. Of all the faddish notions blighting college campuses and the broader culture, it is among the most indefensible and self-destructive. NYT Falsely States That 900,000 U.S. Children Have Been Hospitalized From COVID

The New York Times was forced to issue multiple, major corrections for an article published on Wednesday that falsely claimed 900,000 children had been hospitalized for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

The full correction reads:

An earlier version of this article incorrectly described actions taken by regulators in Sweden and Denmark. They have halted use of the Moderna vaccine in children; they have not begun offering single doses. The article also misstated the number of Covid hospitalizations in U.S. children. It is more than 63,000 from August 2020 to October 2021, not 900,000 since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, the article misstated the timing of an F.D.A. meeting on authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children. It is later this month, not next week.

The headline and subhead still mention single-dose vaccines for children, but that only refers to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

And while the Times article discusses how other countries are trying to balance the risks of vaccinating children, it notes that the U.S. is doing things differently. One infectious diseases physician told the outlet that “We’ve had a significant impact on our pediatric population.” This is when the Times originally claimed 900,000 children had been hospitalized during the pandemic. The article now says 63,000 children were hospitalized between August 2020 and October 2021. It also states that 520 children have died due to COVID-19, without noting how small a fraction that is compared to the hundreds of thousands of adults who have died during the pandemic or noting the low likelihood children have of getting COVID.

NYTimes Sparks July 4 Outrage By Claiming American Flag ‘Alienating To Some’

The New York Times sparked fireworks with an Independence Day report on the political implications of displaying the American flag — just weeks after being forced to defend an editorial writer who said she was “really disturbed” to see Old Glory flown by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

The Times article — with the online headline “A Fourth of July Symbol of Unity That May No Longer Unite” — suggests that Trump supporters have embraced the flag “so fervently” that liberals have “all but ceded the national emblem to the right.”

“Today, flying the American flag from the back of a pickup truck or over a lawn is increasingly seen as a clue, albeit an imperfect one, to a person’s political affiliation in a deeply divided nation,” the Times tweeted on Saturday, with a link to their piece, “A Fourth of July Symbol of Unity That May No Longer Unite.”

In the piece, author Sarah Maslin Nir quotes a few individuals who believe that the flag has become so politicized that they now think twice about flying it outside their homes or businesses.

“What was once a unifying symbol – there is a star on it for each state, after all – is now alienating to some, its stripes now fault lines between people who kneel while ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ plays and those for whom not pledging allegiance is an affront,” Nir wrote.
