Trump: If Kim Attacks Guam ‘He Will Regret It Fast’

President Donald Trump refused to back down Friday from a comment he tweeted earlier in the day that military solutions to the impasse with North Korea are “locked and loaded.”

During a media event called to discuss the Trump administration’s efforts to increase apprenticeships, Trump was asked about the crisis with North Korea, which has said it is drafting plans for an attack on Guam.

“We are looking at that very carefully and I hope they are going to fully understand the gravity of what I said, and what I said is what I mean,” Trump said during the event at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club. “So hopefully they will understand … exactly what I said and the meaning of those words. Those words are very, very easy to understand.”

“Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely,” Trump had tweeted earlier Friday. “Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!”

Trump was asked how he would respond to critics who have attacked his Tuesday remark that North Korea would face “fire and fury” as an inflammatory statement.

“Well, you know, my critics are only saying that because it’s me. If somebody else uttered the exact same words that I uttered, they’d say, ‘What a great statement, what a wonderful statement,’” Trump said.

“We have tens of millions of people in this country that are so happy with what I’m saying — because they’re saying, finally we have a President that’s sticking up for our nation and, frankly, sticking up for our friends and our allies.”

Trump vowed to win the war of wills over North Korea’s missile program.

“And this man will not get away with what he’s doing, believe me. And if he utters one threat, in the form of an overt threat — which, by the way, he has been uttering for years, and his family has been uttering for years — or if he does anything with respect to Guam, or anyplace else that’s an American territory or an American ally, he will truly regret it and he will regret it fast,” Trump said.

Amid reports that U.S. and North Korean officials are communicating through diplomatic backchannels, Trump said, “we don’t want to talk about backchannels.”

“We want to talk about a country that has misbehaved for many, many years, decades actually, through numerous administrations and they didn’t want to take on the issue and I had no choice but to take it on, and I’m taking it on. And we’ll either be very, very successful quickly or we’re going to be very, very successful in a different way, quickly,” Trump said.

Asked about a comment from German Chancellor Angela Merkel that there was no military solution to the North Korean crisis, Trump bristled.

“Maybe she’s speaking for Germany, let her speak for Germany. She’s a friend of mine, she’s a very good person, a very good woman, she’s a friend of Ivanka. Perhaps she is referring to Germany. She’s certainly not referring to the United States, that I can tell you,” he said. (For more from the author of “Trump: If Kim Attacks Guam ‘He Will Regret It Fast'” please click HERE)

China ‘Will Stop’ U.S. From Toppling North Korean Regime

If North Korea launches an attack that threatens the United States then China should stay neutral, but if the United States attacks first and tries to overthrow North Korea’s government China will stop them, a Chinese state-run newspaper said on Friday.

President Donald Trump ratcheted up his rhetoric toward North Korea and its leader on Thursday, warning Pyongyang against attacking Guam or U.S. allies after it disclosed plans to fire missiles over Japan to land near the U.S. Pacific territory.

China, North Korea’s most important ally and trading partner, has reiterated calls for calm during the current crisis. It has expressed frustration with both Pyongyang’s repeated nuclear and missile tests and with behavior from South Korea and the United States that it sees as escalating tensions.

The widely read state-run Global Times, published by the ruling Communist Party’s official People’s Daily, wrote in an editorial that Beijing is not able to persuade either Washington or Pyongyang to back down. (Read more from “China ‘Will Stop’ U.S. From Toppling North Korean Regime” HERE)

North Korea Plans to Fire Multiple Missiles Into Waters Around Guam

North Korea stressed Thursday that President Donald Trump will only learn through a show of force.

Trump is “such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him,” North Korean state media reported.

The North Korean military is “seriously examining the plan for an enveloping strike at Guam through simultaneous fire of four Hwasong-12 intermediate-range strategic ballistic rockets in order to interdict the enemy forces on major military bases on Guam and to signal a crucial warning to the U.S.,” according to the Korean Central News Agency.

The military will report its plan to Kim Jong Un in mid-August and await his order. The missiles would reportedly splash down within a matter of miles of Guam. (Read more from “North Korea Plans to Fire Multiple Missiles Into Waters Around Guam” HERE)

North Korea Is a Blowhard Joke… Until It Fires a Missile

The North Korean regime has produced miniaturized nuclear warheads that can fit on intercontinental ballistic missiles that can travel across the Pacific Ocean and destroy American cities, potentially killing millions of Americans.

This sobering report comes from the Washington Post, which also recounted how the communist regime in North Korea, led by the mentally unstable dictator Kim Jong Un, is now in possession of as many as 60 nuclear weapons, according to U.S. analysts.

The findings are likely to deepen concerns about an evolving North Korean military threat that appears to be advancing far more rapidly than many experts had predicted. U.S. officials last month concluded that Pyongyang is also outpacing expectations in its effort to build an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking cities on the American mainland.

[…]

“The IC [intelligence community] assesses North Korea has produced nuclear weapons for ballistic missile delivery, to include delivery by ICBM-class missiles,” the assessment states, in an excerpt read to The Washington Post. The assessment’s broad conclusions were verified by two U.S. officials familiar with the document. It is not yet known whether the reclusive regime has successfully tested the smaller design, although North Korea officially last year claimed to have done so.

The Washington Post’s report has been confirmed by NBC News. How serious is this?

Russian interference in the 2016 election has no effect if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Affordable health care is worthless if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Climate change is irrelevant if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Entitlement reform is meaningless if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Taxes won’t be too high if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

A border wall protects no one if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Free markets don’t matter if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Infrastructure is immaterial if you die in a nuclear holocaust.

Today’s North Korea news is deadly serious. It is the single most important issue facing the Trump administration, facing the Congress, facing the American people, period.

Do I overstate the threat? North Korea has been posturing for decades — threatening the U.S. with nuclear destruction in its propaganda without ever taking credible action against the United States.

It is tempting to think of the regime as an unserious, bloviating joke.

Until they fire that missile.

The decisions President Trump will make regarding North Korea in the following weeks will be some of the most consequential decisions made by a U.S. president in this nation’s history. They will define this presidency. He cannot fail.

He must not fail. (For more from the author of “North Korea Is a Blowhard Joke… Until It Fires a Missile” please click HERE)

Trump Vows ‘Fire and Fury’ for North Korea

President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned North Korea about facing “fire and fury” if the isolated nation makes more threats to the United States.

“They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening … and I said they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before,” Trump told reporters during what he calls a “working vacation” at his New Jersey golf club.

His comments came hours after revelations Pyongyang has successfully created a miniaturized nuclear weapon designed to fit inside its missiles. While miniaturizing marks a major step in North Korea’s nuclear ambitions, it does not necessarily mean the country has an accurate nuclear-equipped intercontinental ballistic missile, yet. North Korea Threatens to ‘End USA’

North Korea has threatened to “end” the US in its latest war-mongering rant.

State-controlled media slammed America’s recent decision to fly two supersonic bombers over the Korean Peninsula.

The B-1 bombers were escorted by South Korean fighter jets as they performed a low-pass over an air base near the South Korean capital of Seoul last month.

But Kim Jong-un’s media branded the move a “hysteric fit” and warned against such “provocations”.

North Korea’s KCNA news agency ranted: “The day the DPRK is provoked means the end of the US.” (Read more from “North Korea Threatens to ‘End USA'” HERE)

North Korea Fires Another Ballistic Missile

North Korea test-fired its second intercontinental ballistic missile in less than a month late Friday, with experts concluding that the launch flew higher and longer than the first and now puts a large chunk of the United States — including Chicago and Los Angeles — within range of Pyongyang’s ever-improving weapons systems.

Japan’s Defense Ministry said the missile, launched at 11:42 p.m. Friday from Mupyong-ni in northern Jagang Province, around 60 kilometers (37 miles) from North Korea’s border with China, reached an estimated height of more than 3,500 km and traveled about 1,000 km, landing inside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, some 150 km northwest of Okushiri Island, a tiny islet about 18 km off the coast of Hokkaido.

The rare nighttime launch was fired on a very high or “lofted” trajectory, which limited the distance it traveled.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told an emergency news conference in the early hours of Saturday morning that the missile flew for about 45 minutes, a flight that would put it about five minutes longer than the test of its earlier ICBM, known as the Hwasong-14, on July 4. North Korea Threat: Alaska Mayor Says He’s ‘Worried About Moose, Not Missiles’

While lawmakers in Alaska have doubled down on calls for improved U.S. defense in the wake of a North Korea ICBM test, some have appeared to shrug off the threat seemingly posed by the rogue regime.

“I’m worried about moose, not missiles,” Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz told The Washington Post in a story published Saturday. “Bears, not bombs.”

Todd Sherwood, an attorney who served more than a decade in the U.S. Air Force, told the newspaper that if North Korea would to attack, the U.S. military reaction would probably be severe. He downplayed the threats cast by Dictator Kim Jong Un . . .

According to The Washington Post, Alaska’s past may have something to do with its mellow response to the possibility of an attack from North Korea. An Alaskan town was bombed in 1942 during World War II and in the same week Japan occupied two Aleutian Islands. Alaska was also on alert during the Cold War with its incredibly close proximity to Russia. Some Alaskan homes still have fallout shelters. North Korea Tested Intercontinental Ballistic Missile [Capable of Reaching Alaska], U.S. Officials Believe

North Korea fired its first intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday, military officials said, a significant step forward in Pyongyang’s weapons program and an escalation of a perilous nuclear standoff with the United States.

The United States condemned the test-launch, firing warning missiles and vowing to hold the regime accountable at the United Nations.

The ICBM, which is believed to be “two-stage,” officials said, would have a range of at least 3,500 miles and thus be able to reach Alaska.

The North Korean regime earlier Tuesday claimed that it successfully fired a long-range missile into the Sea of Japan, declaring itself a “proud nuclear state.”

“It is a major celebration in our history,” said an announcer on North Korean state television. North Korea “is now a proud nuclear state, which possesses [an] almighty ICBM rocket that can now target anywhere in the world.” (Read more from “North Korea Tested Intercontinental Ballistic Missile [Capable of Reaching Alaska], U.S. Officials Believe” HERE)

Shadow President? Obama Meets With South Korean President to Discuss Trump

Former President Barack Obama seems to be feeling nostalgic for his old job, meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in Monday for 40 minutes.

The Korea Herald reported that Moon spoke about his recent meetings with President Trump in Washington and asked Obama for his advice on how to improve that relationship.

The meeting came after Obama spoke at the Asian Leadership Conference and the Fourth Congress of Indonesian Diaspora in Jakarta. There he attacked Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate change accord.

“In Paris, we came together around the most ambitious agreement in history about climate change, an agreement that even with the temporary absence of American leadership can still give our children a fighting chance,” Obama said in Indonesia.
