Illinois Law Grounds PETA Drones Meant to Harass Hunters

Illinois passed a new state law that set back the efforts of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), making the use of drones to interfere with hunters and fishermen prohibited.

The law was created in response to PETA’s plan to employ drones called “air angels” to monitor outdoors enthusiasts engaged in hunting and fishing nationwide. Of course, the motivation for many outdoorsman is to get away from technology and be in harmony with nature.

But PETA has another plan for lovers of the wilderness. They want to spy on hunters as self appointed green police trying to trap them in violations. Surprisingly, these “hobbyists” are able to take home their personal drone for only $324.99.

Message to PETA: Stay the Hell Out of Alaska

From grieving the “enormous suffering” of dead fish to demanding that Honey Boo Boo rename Nugget, her pet chicken, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) seems to be pursuing an increasingly fringe agenda. The crazier the radical group becomes, the more it attempts to cram its animal rights agenda down throats of every American.

One of its latest campaigns is focused on Alaska’s Iditarod … again. This time, PETA complains that Iditarod volunteers and a Fairbanks musher should face criminal charges because her dog died while awaiting transport.

This unfortunate incident occurred after the musher’s dog was “dropped” at the Unalakleet checkpoint and the musher and her team continued on to Nome. A storm hit Unalakleet after the musher left. Iditarod volunteers then placed her dog, as well as a number of others that had been dropped, in an area protected from wind. Transportation for the dogs was delayed by the storm, several were buried by the snowfall, and the musher’s dog died.

Although there’s little doubt that Iditarod procedures can and should be improved to avoid this type of situation in the future, there’s absolutely no evidence of criminal intent by any Alaskan in the death of the dog.

But here’s the kicker: it was just disclosed this week that PETA, the same organization demanding criminal prosecution over the accidental death of a musher’s dog, hypocritically slaughtered 90% of the cats and dogs brought to one of its “rescue” facilities last year:

The charity, well-known for attention grabbing publicity campaigns such as the ‘I’d rather go naked’ anti-fur campaign, euthanized 1,647 cats and dogs last year and only placed 19 in new homes according to the data submitted to the Virginia Department for Agriculture and Consumer Services.

PETA’s hypocrisy reflects how morally bankrupt the group really is. Alaskans of all stripes should reject its meddling in the Last Frontier.

Beyonce Dogged By PETA For Showing Too Much (Snake) Skin At The Superbowl

Photo Credit: Christian PetersonThe animal rights organization PETA was not moved by Beyoncé‘s Super Bowl showing. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) threw a flag on the play for the singer’s wardrobe choice, which included leather, python, and iguana skins.

“We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés, she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits, or other animals who died painfully,” PETA’s statement said. “Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyoncé’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

The first video was of Joaquin Phoenix, who lends his voice to a behind-the-scenes clip that shows how the exotic-skins industry brings products to the market.

PETA Urges Honey Boo Boo To Rename Pet Chicken ‘Nugget’ to More Animal-Friendly Name

In our time watching Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, we’ve learned a few things: Honey Boo Boo’s family fiercely embraces its redneck ways. A dollar makes Honey Boo Boo holler. And finally, the pageant princess LOVES eating meat. But PETA apparently hasn’t figured this out yet, as the organization recently sent Honey Boo Boo a letter asking her to give her pet chicken a more animal-friendly name. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen.

Honey Boo Boo loves Nugget, her pet chicken, but she’ll love Nugget even more deep-fried and ready for consumption. PETA’s leaders either have not watched Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or don’t understand what a carnivore its star is, because they decided to send the little pageant queen a request for better animal treatment, or more specifically, not naming her pet after the means by which it will ultimately be consumed.

So, since PETA doesn’t find Nugget a suitable name for a chicken, what could work better? How about “I Am Not A Nugget?” Nice try, PETA, but you might as well quit now. In addition to being incredibly clumsy to pronounce, this name would be a bit misleading. It’s pretty obvious that Nugget ultimately will become a plate full of nuggets.

PETA Wants Street Sign Memorializing “Enormous Suffering” of Dead Fish

Just when you thought you’ve heard or seen it all, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) shows up to astonish. In the latest screwball event, PETA is trying to get the City of Irvine, California, to put up a sign memorializing the deaths of several hundred fish from a traffic collision. Such signs are normally reserved only for human fatalities of accidents.

The Orange County Register reported that:

a truck carrying 1,600 pounds of live fish and several tanks of pure oxygen crashed with two other vehicles. The oxygen was used to keep the saltwater bass alive as the fish were being taken to market.

In the letter, Dina Kourda, on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, asks the city’s street-maintenance superintendent to place the sign at the site of the crash on Walnut and Yale avenues.

The sign would read, “In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot,” to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are “hauled to their deaths every day,” according to the letter, provided by PETA.

“Although such signs are traditionally reserved for human fatalities, I hope you’ll make an exception because of the enormous suffering involved in this case,” the letter read.

“Research tells us that fish use tools, tell time, sing, and have impressive long-term memories and complex social structures, yet fish used for food are routinely crushed, impaled, cut open, and gutted, all while still conscious,” the letter continued.
