BIAS: Facebook CEO and His Wife Privately Recommended Staff Hires to Pete Buttigieg

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has privately made hiring recommendations to presidential contender Pete Buttigieg, the Indiana Democrat’s campaign confirmed Monday, revealing that the Big Tech executive has played a larger role in the 2020 election than was previously known.

Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, recommended two individuals earlier this year who were ultimately hired, campaign spokesman Chris Meagher said. The recommendations came “around the launch when we were getting a ton of incoming resumes,” Meagher wrote in a text message, confirming a report by Bloomberg News.

The suggestions are notable because they come amid heightened scrutiny on the social media platform. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, another Democratic contender, has threatened to break up the company and other technology giants, while conservatives have accused Zuckerberg of censoring right-wing voices.

Facebook has been accused of providing a platform for disinformation during the last presidential election, and has been criticized for refusing to remove ads for President Donald Trump’s reelection that include false information. . .

Buttigieg has criticized Facebook and the other Big Tech platforms, though he has not gone as far as Warren. In April, Buttigieg said that he would empower the FTC to take on a heightened regulatory role when it came to Facebook and the other platforms. In May, Buttigieg said that Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes “made a very convincing case” about how Zuckerberg and other tech executives had too much power. Hughes has since left the company. WATCH: Trans Protesters Go After Gay Presidential Candidate

Protesters interrupted South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg on Thursday at the CNN LGBTQ forum, shouting “trans people are dying, do something!”

The Democratic presidential candidate took the stage amid applause, which turned into shouts from the crowd. . .

“Let me just point out there is a long and proud tradition in history in the gay and lesbian and transgender community of protest, and we applaud them for their protest,” moderator Anderson Cooper told the crowd. “And they are absolutely right to be angry and upset at the lack of attention.” (Read more from “Trans Protesters Go After Gay Presidential Candidate” HERE)

WATCH: Pete Buttigieg Chimes in on Baby Remains Found at Late Abortion Doctor’s Home

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg decided to finally chime in on the fact that 2,246 fetal remains were discovered at the home of the late Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, a former abortionist, who died earlier this month. Family members were going through belongings on his property when they made the discovery.

“Like everyone, I find the news out of Illinois, extremely disturbing,” Buttigieg told reporters. “I think it’s important that that be fully investigated. I also hope that it doesn’t get caught up in politics at a time when women need access to health care. There’s no question that what happened here is disturbing, it’s unacceptable and it needs to be looked at.”

WATCH: Beto Unleashes Foul-Mouthed Rant on Buttigieg Over Gun Control

Beto O’Rourke launched an expletive-fueled defense of his call Sunday to ban assault-style weapons and impose mandatory buybacks of AR-15s and AK-47s while also pushing back at critics — including fellow 2020 Democrat Pete Buttigieg.

During last Thursday’s presidential debate, the former Texas congressman said, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47, and we’re not going to allow it to be used against your fellow Americans anymore.” Three days later, O’Rourke appeared on NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” where host Chuck Todd pointed out that there was “a lot of hand-wringing” about the presidential contender’s full-throated call on national TV for confiscating such rifles.

As O’Rourke had put the issue of gun violence at the center of his campaign effort, some fellow Democrats chastised him and were concerned that his statements may have made things harder for gun control supporters as they negotiate with President Trump on legislation to respond to this summer’s mass shootings. . .

Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” and agreed with Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., saying the clip of the former O’Rourke’s statement about AR-15s and AK-47s “will be played for years at Second Amendment rallies with organizations that try to scare people by saying Democrats are coming for your guns.” . . .

[Beto] later tweeted, “When candidates say, ‘At least Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell are pretending to be interested,’ sh–, that is not enough. Neither is poll-testing your message. Gun violence is a life or death issue—and we have to represent the bold ideas of people all over the country.”

Gay Buttigieg: Supporting Trump ‘Is Supporting Racism’; Beto’s Website: ‘The President of the United States of America Is a White Supremacist’

By Breitbart. . .Univision Anchor Jorge Ramos asked, “Eight out of 10 Latinos in Texas fear another mass shooting targeted them. This is according to a new Univision pool. President Trump has called Mexican immigrants rapists and killers, tried to ban Muslims from entering this country, separated children from their parents. He supporters have chanted ‘build a wall’ and ‘send her back.’ Do you think people who support President Trump and his immigration policies are racist?

Buttigieg said, “Anyone who supports this is supporting racism.” (Read more from “Gay Buttigieg: Supporting Trump ‘Is Supporting Racism’” HERE)

Beto’s Website: ‘The President of the United States of America Is a White Supremacist’

By The Blaze. Struggling Democratic presidential candidate and former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke is getting desperate in his quest to appeal to the far-left base, even declaring on his campaign website Thursday night: “The president of the United States of America is a white supremacist.” . . .

O’Rourke is seeking to breathe life into his campaign amid consistently weak polling performances, and apparently used the occasion of the third Democratic presidential primary debate to go for broke. . .

But as the debate wore on, pundits on the Twittersphere discovered that O’Rourke’s campaign website had also been updated for debate night.

“Here’s proof,” the site says, citing dozens of “examples.” The first was reportedly pulled from the El Paso Times, and reads, “Trump falsely claimed that El Paso, one of America’s safest cities, had ‘extremely high rates of violent crime’ before fences were built.”

Another example quoted USA Today as reporting that “Trump launched his campaign calling immigrants ‘rapists’ and criminals.” A third excerpt was from CNN, and read, “Trump said there is an ‘infestation’ of gangs in our country.” (Read more from “Beto’s Website: ‘The President of the United States of America Is a White Supremacist'” HERE)

Mayor Pete Uses the Bible to Redefine When Life Begins and Now His Family Wants Him to Repent

South Bend, Indiana Mayor turned 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg used the Bible to explain why he believes life doesn’t begin until a baby takes his or her first breath.

“Right now they hold everyone in line to this kind of piece of doctrine about abortion, which is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think through. Then again, you know, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible which talk about how life begins with breath,” Buttiegeg explained during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “And even so, that’s something that we can interpret differently.” . . .

Now, Buttigieg’s brother-in-law, Pastor Rhyan Glezman, wants the presidential candidate to repent.

“I feel a sense of responsibility and stewardship of my faith to stand up and say something, to say, ‘No, that’s not true,'” Glezman told the Washington Examiner. “God places a very high value on all human life. Everyone is created fearfully and wonderfully in the image of God with intrinsic value. That doesn’t start at the first breath, it starts when we enter our mother’s womb.” . . .

“If we’re going to say we’re for all people and we love all people, but we don’t value human life in the womb, that’s being a hypocrite. You’re hypocritical if you don’t stand up for all life. So that’s why I’m speaking out,” Glezman explained. “This isn’t a little issue, especially when we’re talking about life. This is not just a political conversation. We’re talking about human life. These are human beings.” (Read more from “Mayor Pete Uses the Bible to Redefine When Life Begins and Now His Family Wants Him to Repent” HERE)

Pete Buttigieg Attacks Pro-Life Christians

By Breitbart. Mayor Pete Buttigieg defended his belief that Christians should have a right to abortion, pointing to Scripture stating life begins when a baby breathes.

“You know, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible that talk about how life begins with breath,” he said when discussing abortion. “So even that is something we can interpret differently.”

Pro-life Christians frequently cite Jeremiah 1:5 to say that life begins in the womb: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Christians on the left argue that life begins at first breath, citing the account of God creating Adam in the book of Genesis: “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

Buttigieg commented on Scripture during a discussion with ‘Charlamagne tha God’ on The Breakfast Club radio show about Republicans’ grip on the Christian vote in America. (Read more from “Pete Buttigieg Attacks Pro-Life Christians” HERE)

Radio Host Tells Buttigieg He ‘Got Lost’ During Debates

By Fox News. Pete Buttigieg had an awkward moment on “The Breakfast Club” Friday when radio host Charlamagne tha God gave him a frank assessment of his performance in the Democratic primary debates.

“Do you think you sucked in the first couple of debates?” the host asked, prompting Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind., to say he thought he did well.

When Buttigieg asked what he thought, Charlamagne said the veteran didn’t show the same kind of charisma that he’d demonstrated before.

“You kind of got lost, Mayor Pete — like, I like you because your charismatic, I didn’t really get that from the first couple of debates,” he said.

Buttigieg responded by claiming that the debate formats — with so many people — made it difficult for candidates to give substantive answers. (Read more from “Radio Host Tells Buttigieg He ‘Got Lost’ During Debates” HERE)

‘Saint Buttigieg’ Quotes Bible to Shame ‘So-Called Christians’ on Minimum Wage

By Breitbart. Mayor Pete Buttigieg scorned Christian Republicans on Tuesday for opposing a guaranteed $15 an hour minimum wage for workers proposed by Congressional Democrats.

“The minimum wage is just too low, and so-called conservative Christian senators right now in the Senate are blocking a bill to raise the minimum wage, when Scripture says that whoever oppresses the poor taunts their maker,” he said, citing the book of Proverbs.

The South Bend mayor criticized Republicans during the CNN Democrat Debate on Tuesday as the candidates discussed the loss of manufacturing jobs in Michigan.

Buttigieg did not offer any specific solutions for car factory workers losing their jobs, other than worker retraining. (Read more from “‘Saint Buttigieg’ Quotes Bible to Shame ‘So-Called Christians’ on Minimum Wage” HERE)

5 Fights at the Democratic Debate

By NBC News. The health care debate within the debate centered on whether to pursue a single-payer Medicare For All system favored by Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., or an alternative that preserves competing private plans.

The more moderate candidates made the case that Americans wanted to have a choice of private insurance, with some like Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, and former Rep. John Delaney mentioning unions that had negotiated specific plans. . .

Similar to the first Democratic debate last month, the disagreement on immigration centered on a proposal put forward by former HUD Secretary Julian Castro that would make illegally crossing the border a civil rather than criminal offense.

Warren argued it would remove a legal basis for President Donald Trump to prosecute parents of children crossing the border and consequently separate families. “We need to continue to have border security and we can do that, but what we can’t do is not live our values,” she said. . .

The candidates agreed that they needed significant government action to confront climate change, but differed over the particulars of the Green New Deal, a resolution put forward by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen. Edward Markey, D-Mass., calling for a rapid shift to renewable energy. (Read more from “5 Fights at the Democratic Debate” HERE)

Pete Buttigieg: White Supremacy Threatens to End United States

Mayor Pete Buttigieg warned Saturday of the rising threat of white supremacy, noting that it could end the United States of America.

“It could be the lurking issue that ends this country in the future if we don’t wrangle it down in our time,” he told ABC News.

Buttigieg argued that white supremacy started the Civil War and almost ended the United States. . .

“If we do not tackle the problem of racial inequality in my lifetime, I am convinced that it will upend the American project in my lifetime,” he warned in July. “It brought our country to its knees once and if we do not act, it could again.” . . .

“It will not be enough to replace racist systems and racist policies with neutral policies,” he said in June. “If we are not actively, pro-actively, yes, affirmatively reversing these harms, then my generation too will be held to account with our failure to control the system.” (Read more from “Pete Buttigieg: White Supremacy Threatens to End United States” HERE)

Debate Crowd Cheers as Buttigieg Attacks Christian Republicans

On Thursday night during the second round of the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate, Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind., tried to shame Republican Christians into silence by attacking immigration policies that the Trump administration either never employed or that the Obama administration also employed.

“The Republican Party likes to cloak itself in the language of religion,” Buttigieg, a member of the liberal mainline Episcopal Church, began. “Now, our party doesn’t talk about that as much largely for a very good reason — which is we are committed to the separation between church and state and we stand for people of any religion and people of no religion.”

“But we should call out hypocrisy when we see it,” he added. “And for a party that associates itself with Christianity, to say that it is okay to suggest that God would smile at the division of families at the hands of federal agents, that God would condone putting children in cages, has lost all claim to ever use religious language again.”

Buttigieg has long directed his liberal Christian ire against conservative Christians who follow the clear teachings of the Bible on sexuality. My church actually withdrew from his denomination because the Episcopal Church started saying that Jesus was not the only path to salvation, and because it was rejecting the Bible on sexuality issues. It is ironic for Buttigieg to slam conservative Christians as insufficiently Christian when he does not follow the Bible on these issues. . . .

First, the narrative that Trump’s administration put “kids in cages” is entirely false. The infamous photos of “kids in cages” by the border came from 2014 under the Obama administration, not under Trump. Photos showing immigrants sleeping on the concrete floor also date from Obama’s tenure, in 2015. (Read more from “Debate Crowd Cheers as Buttigieg Attacks Christian Republicans” HERE)
