Accused Cop Killer Who Bragged About Prior Releases From Jail Offered Bail AGAIN

Who says crime doesn’t pay? Tavores Dewayne Henderson, who is accused of killing a female Houston police officer earlier this week, clearly felt no deterrent against committing crimes, as he previously bragged about the ease with which he posted bail. That sentiment was validated last night when a Harris County judge offered him bail, even after being charged with murdering a cop.

Sgt. Kaila Sullivan, 43, was attempting to arrest Henderson Tuesday night on a domestic assault warrant when he broke free, went back into his vehicle and allegedly ran her over, killing her. He was a fugitive until police found him on Thursday.

Sullivan’s murder, like most murders in this country, could have been prevented had Henderson been properly punished and deterred from his past crimes. Yet he barely served a day in jail, and he bragged about it.

According to court records, Henderson was charged with theft in Galveston County and with fleeing from police in Montgomery County. Then, in February, he was charged with domestic violence in Harris County after a woman accused him of pointing a gun at her head and then choking her. He never served time in jail and was out free pending disposition of those cases. Henderson was previously arrested on weapons and drug offenses in Fort Bend County in 2016, but never served a day because he was a juvenile.

Henderson was so proud of his jailbreak that after he bonded out of Harris County jail earlier this year, he posted a video on Instagram showing off his bail. “Y’all thought the kid wasn’t coming home. Over three counties … over three (expletive) bonds … over three cases,” he said as he showed the cash on camera, according to KHOU.

Well, guess what? Even after Henderson was caught on Thursday and charged with a homicide that should never have happened, a Harris County judge offered him bail! Harris County magistrate Colin Amann offered Henderson $150,000 bond, which means he could likely be released after coming up with 10 percent of that sum. This is a capital murder case of a police officer, which almost always results in the suspect being held without bond or at least on $2 million bond. I’ve never seen anything like this before, especially from a repeat offender who has already skipped court dates.

Joe Gamaldi, president of the Houston Police Officers’ Union, wan irate and took to twitter to call on the judge to resign.

The sad thing is that the bipartisan consensus from the two liberal political parties is that not enough people are let out of jail and that the system is somehow too tough on criminals. Harris County is on its way to abolishing bail just like New York did.

Sullivan was the second Houston police officer murdered by a repeat offender let out of prison in just a few days. On Saturday, Houston Police Sgt. Christopher Brewster was responding to a domestic violence call when Arturo Solis, 25, allegedly shot him in cold blood. The police chief, Art Acevedo, who is a tool for the liberal political leadership of Houston, blamed the incident on guns and the NRA. But this case, like almost every other murder, is really about criminal control, not gun control. Police Make Move Against Jussie Smollett

Chicago law enforcement officials have officially declared actor Jussie Smollett to be a suspect in a criminal investigation on Wednesday for allegedly committing the felonious act of filing a false police report.

Chicago Police Chief Communications Officer Anthony Guglielmi tweeted: “Case Update: Jussie Smollett is now officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation by #ChicagoPolice for filing a false police report (Class 4 felony). Detectives are currently presenting evidence before a Cook County Grand Jury.”

“Chicago detectives investigating an alleged attack on Jussie Smollett are working to obtain the actor’s financial records, a high-ranking police source said Wednesday,” CNN reported. “Smollett’s attorneys met with Cook County prosecutors earlier Wednesday, according to Chicago Police spokesman Tom Ahern. But a source close to actor’s team told CNN that he has not given police a follow-up interview and no such meeting is scheduled.” . . .

Two brothers, who are believed to have orchestrated the attack on Smollett at Smollett’s instruction, claimed that Smollett was also behind sending the threatening letter to himself.

“The FBI and the US Postal Inspection Service are currently investigating whether Jussie Smollett played a role in sending a threatening letter addressed to him at ‘Empire’s’ Chicago studio prior to the alleged attack,” ABC News reported, after confirming with two federal officials. “The accusation, made by the two brothers who were persons of interest, has not been confirmed.”

WATCH: Police Chief Swears in 6-Year-Old With Cancer, Fights Back Tears

In a moment that brought the local police chief to tears, a six-year-old Texas girl was made an honorary police officer in Freeport Texas on Thursday, and she had the most compelling reason of any recruit: she has cancer which doctors say cannot be treated with chemotherapy, and she wanted to become an officer so she could fight the “bad guys” in her body and make them “go away.”

Abigail Arias, 6, has Wilms tumor, a type of kidney cancer in children. Freeport Police Chief Raymond Garivey Jr. told CNN, “The chemo and radiation hasn’t worked and basically the family is now leaving it in God’s hands and praying for a miracle.” Abigail’s mother Ilene admitted to KTRK, “They basically said it’s time to enjoy some life. Extremely tough. We cried for a few weeks.” Abigail herself said, “I have cancer. The bad guys are in my lungs. I rung the bell, but now this cancer is coming back.”

In December, Abigail met Garivey and told him about her dream to become a police officer. Garivey recalled, “She goes, ‘I want to be a police officer.’ I looked back at her dad and I said, “She probably should have never told me that.” And he kind of just winked at me and I said, “We’re going to make that happen.”

The police invited Abigail to come to the Freeport station on February 7 to become an honorary police officer. Garivey said, ““Her terrific smile and will to keep fighting ‘the bad guys’ inside of her — I wanted to make her dream come true,” according to CNN, adding, “You have to meet her to really understand what a great and inspiring young lady she is.”

Another Good Guy With a Gun — This Time a Florida City Official — Shoots Home Intruder

By The Blaze. Typically stories about United States citizens who take to heart their constitutional right to keep and bear arms — and who use their guns to protect themselves and loved ones — involve civilians.

But this time the good guy with a gun turned out to be a Florida city official — and the result was the same as it’s been in so many of these instances: Bad news for the bad guy. . .

Palmetto police spotted a possibly impaired driver about 10 p.m. Thursday and attempted to pull over the vehicle — but the driver sped away instead, police told the Bradenton Herald. . .

Vasquez-Perez climbed a fence into Palmetto Commissioner Brian Williams’ backyard and broke into Williams’ garage in an apparent attempt to hide from police, the paper said. . .

But Williams pushed Vasquez-Perez back — and then shot him twice, Chief of Police Scott Tyler told the paper. (Read more from “Another Good Guy With a Gun — This Time a Florida City Official — Shoots Home Intruder” HERE)

Palmetto City Commissioner Shoots Intruder in Self-Defense, Police Say

By Bradenton Herald. A Palmetto city commissioner shot a man in self-defense after that man broke into his home after crashing into his neighbor’s house while fleeing from a traffic stop, according to police. . .

Williams’ daughter, who lives next door, spotted Vasquez-Perez and called her dad. Williams armed himself, then heard Vasquez-Perez trying to get into the kitchen from the garage. Vasquez-Perez was then confronted by Williams at gunpoint. Vasquez-Perez attempted to push past and punch Williams, who then pushed Vasquez-Perez back and shot him twice, according to Tyler.

“He was lawfully defending home and family,” Tyler said. . .

Vasquez-Perez surrendered to police and was rushed to Blake Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. As of Friday, he was in stable condition and expected to recover from his injuries.

Williams declined to comment while the police investigation into the shooting remains open other than to say, “I am glad that everything turned out the way it did. I guess he is doing OK and we are happy and glad that no one in my family was hurt.” (Read more from “Palmetto City Commissioner Shoots Intruder in Self-Defense, Police Say” HERE)

Ex-Police Chief Gets Three Years in Prison for Framing Black Men

A former Florida police chief who admitted to framing black men for crimes they did not commit was sentenced to three years in prison on Tuesday.

A federal judge in Miami imposed the sentence on ex-Biscayne Park police chief Raimundo Atesiano, who pleaded guilty earlier this year to directing his police officers to frame innocent black men for a series of unsolved burglaries.

He admitted he wanted to appease community leaders and polish the department’s property crimes records.

“When I took the job, I was not prepared,” the 54-year-old man told the judge on Tuesday, the Miami Herald reported. “I made some very, very bad decisions.”

Atesiano, who faced a maximum 10-year sentence, pleaded guilty in September to a conspiracy charge of depriving the three suspects of their civil rights because he and the officers charged them without a legal basis. Mom Accidentally Locks Infant in Car, Calls 911. Emergency Services Tell Mom Help Isn’t Coming.

A Michigan mother inadvertently locked her infant in the car while loading the child and her supplies up on Saturday. When she called emergency services for assistance in freeing the infant from the rising heat in the vehicle, she was told “no.” . . .

Lacey Guyton, 25, was leaving her grandmother’s home in Waterford, Michigan, when she realized that her car keys were in her 2-month-old daughter’s diaper bag — which Guyton had promptly loaded into her vehicle after securing her daughter in a car seat.

Guyton’s stomach dropped when she heard the car’s auto-locks deploy as she was circling the car to get into the driver’s seat. Guyton told ABC News that she had another key fob on her, but it refused to work when she tried to unlock the vehicle. . .

Guyton’s grandmother told dispatchers that there was an infant locked in the car, and the dispatcher reportedly responded that the emergency services department doesn’t answer to such calls of unlocking vehicles or breaking windows. The dispatcher, instead, reportedly offered to send a towing company to the scene. . .

After several more tries, Guyton was able to break the window, but not before her child stopped crying and had started to close her eyes. (Read more from “Mom Accidentally Locks Infant in Car, Calls 911. Emergency Services Tell Mom Help Isn’t Coming.” HERE)

Police Under Fire for Fatal Shooting of Black Man; New Report Reveals Suspect Shot at Officers

Leftist activists, with help from the media, have attempted to frame the fatal police shooting of an armed convicted felon, who happens to be a black male, fleeing Minneapolis officers as racially motivated. But the released video footage from the June incident and a new investigative report from Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman reveals that the felon shot at officers before he was fired at. . .

In the released footage of the incident, suspect Thurman Blevins is shown in possession of a firearm. “I don’t know the exact seconds of shots, but as Blevins’ gun comes around you’ll see he fired, it hits the pavement in the alley, the round hits the pavement right in the direction of Officer Kelly,” explained Mr. Kroll, according to KMSP News.

This assertion is backed up by an investigative report that revealed a bullet casing from Mr. Blevins’ gun was recovered. “One brass cartridge case was recovered near Mr. Blevins’ body (later determined to have been fired by Mr. Blevins’ gun),” says the report. . .

“The Federation maintained from the start that the officers’ actions during this incident were heroic. The body camera footage exemplifies this,” he said. “The officers did exactly what the public expects them to do. They responded to a 911 call of someone shooting a gun. They located the suspect, gave numerous orders for him to comply, pursued the suspect as he fled. They were forced to fire at the suspect only after he pointed a gun and fired at the officers. The officers deserve Minneapolis Police Department’s highest award, the Medal of Honor, and they deserve the respect of the population they are sworn to protect.”

Facial Recognition Toll Booths Identify Drivers and Passengers, Notify Police Within Seconds

The state of New York is using facial recognition cameras to identify drivers and passengers at toll booths.

A recent article in the New York Post revealed that toll booths use facial recognition to identify everyone.

“We are now moving to facial-recognition technology, which takes it to a whole new level, where it can see the face of the person in the car and run that technology against databases,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. (Click here & here to learn more.)

Police are also testing facial recognition cameras that can identify people based on the shape of their ears!

“Because many times a person will turn their head when they see a security camera, so they are now experimenting with technology that just identifies a person by their ear, believe it or not,” Cuomo said.

. . .

Last year Vocativ revealed that NYC is using toll booth gantries to create a ring of spying cameras.

The Authority is interested in implementing a Facial Detection System, in a free-flow highway environment, where vehicle movement is unimpeded at highway speeds as well as bumper-to-bumper traffic, and license plate images are taken and matched to occupants of the vehicles (via license plate number) with Facial Detection and Recognition methods from a gantry-based or road-side monitoring location.

Police facial recognition to identify drivers within seconds

According to the NY Post, toll booth gantries can identify vehicles within seconds.

License plates scanned at the toll plazas, at least, are already being checked for warrants, suspected felons, parole violators, terrorist suspects and the intel is passed within five seconds on to cop cars stationed at the crossings.

How long before NYC uses facial recognition cameras to identify drivers and passengers within seconds?

Currently there are at least thirty-one states that allow police to use facial recognition to identify people from drivers licenses and state IDs.

Roughly one in every two American adults—117 million people—are in the facial recognition networks used by law enforcement, according to a 2016 report.

DHS and law enforcement have created an Orwellian nightmare in NYC.

Imagine a future where police install facial recognition cameras at two thousand bridges and tunnels throughout NYC.

Now imagine that happening in your city or town.

Facial recognition cameras and license plate readers are being used to create secret hotlists and watchlists that track our every movement.

It is time for Americans to stop letting DHS and law enforcement use 9/11 as an excuse to destroy everyone’s privacy. (For more from the author of “Facial Recognition Toll Booths Identify Drivers and Passengers, Notify Police Within Seconds” please click HERE)

Business Owner Accused of Hiring a Hitman to Kill a Cop. You Won’t Believe Why

A Houston business owner was arrested on Tuesday, accused of a murder-for-hire plot. The suspect allegedly sought out a hitman to kill a police officer who had issued him several citations for nuisance violations. . .

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo announced the arrest of Mohammed S. Mohamed, who owns a logistics and shipping business. After repeatedly being ticketed for having too many vehicles in his commercial parking lot and other violations, authorities say Mohamed sought to put an end to the citations by hiring out a hit on the police officer writing them.

Acevedo told reporters, “The suspect wanted the officer dead because he believed that the officer was interfering with his business operations. In order for the suspect to get his business [in line] with code, he indicated to a witness that it would’ve cost him tens of thousands of dollars to accomplish it.”

And the alleged plot was rather elaborate. At first, Mohamed is said to have told an undercover officer (who was posing as the hitman) that he wanted the ticket-writing officer maimed. Acevedo said, “He wanted someone to carry out an attack on the officer and disable him by throwing acid in his face.”

But the chief added that Mohamed soon changed his mind: “Due to the possibility of the suspect getting more tickets and additional penalties, he ended up deciding that, ‘No, that’s not enough. I don’t want to just maim this officer. I don’t want to just injure this officer. I want him killed because that’s the only way that this will go away.’ The suspect specifically wanted to hire a hitman.”

Colorado Kids, Church Raise Thousands to Provide Safety Gear for Local Police

Caleb Landrum and Andrew Deeds, two elementary school students, recognized the danger law enforcement officers face every day. So they partnered with a Christian nonprofit to do something to protect the officers.

The kids partnered with the nonprofit Shield 616 to raise more than $14,000 to pay for helmets and protective vests for officers from two departments in Colorado, KCNC-TV reported. . .

First we want to equip every first responder with necessary, advanced active shooter/crowd control gear. Second, we want to provide a support group for that first responder who will pray for the first responder and his or her family on a daily basis and shower the first responder with support and encouragement throughout the year.

Shield616 raises funds to donate safety gear to financially struggling departments and replaces that gear every five years. The organization collaborates with local individuals, churches, and businesses to support this mission. . .

A local church, Living Word Chapel, raised another $17,000 for police gear. In total, the donations paid for helmets and vests for 20 officers. (Read more from “Colorado Kids, Church Raise Thousands to Provide Safety Gear for Local Police” HERE)
