Now Sheet Music Is Racist

The old saying is that music “can soothe the savage beast,” but who knew that those sheets of paper with staves, notes, key signatures and time signatures have the power to “slap” people in the face?

It’s the latest battle in “woke” politics, with faculty of the University of Oxford’s department of music seeking to remove sheet music from the curriculum because of its “complicity in white supremacy.”

Professors are fretting that the classical music notation has not “shaken off its connection to its colonial past,” reports Fox News, and is a “slap in the face” to students of color.

The Telegraph in the United Kingdom reported that in the wake international Black Lives Matter demonstrations, faculty members want to address the “white hegemony” in music courses and enhance the diversity of the undergraduate curriculum.

The Telegraph reported professors said the classical repertoire taught at Oxford, which spans works by Mozart and Beethoven, focuses too much on “white European music from the slave period.” (Read more from “Now Sheet Music Is Racist” HERE)

‘Cinderella’ Production Canceled Over Concerns the Cast Is Too White

A planned production of Cinderella has been canceled over concerns that the cast was too white.

“It was 98% white,” artistic director Michael Brindisi said of the cast. “That doesn’t work with what we’re saying we’re going to do.”

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres in Minnesota has now decided to scrap the project altogether and will instead turn to producing Footloose in 2022.

“After careful consideration and with our ongoing commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres has made the decision to cancel our upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” the company said in a statement. “Our hope in beginning the production process again with a new title will allow us to put into practice an intentional process based on the work we have been doing towards equity and inclusivity.”

Brindisi, who originally pointed out the lack of diversity in the cast, said that Chanhassen considered recasting the show. A Parent Who Criticized Critical Race Theory in Schools Has Been Placed on a Hit List for Harassment

Former Justice Department official, consultant and concerned parent Ian Prior recently wrote a lengthy op-ed in The Federalist criticizing critical race theory [CRT] being promoted or taught in Virginia’s taxpayer funded schools. . .

Now his leftist neighbors, who have advocated for illegal behavior like hacking and destroying websites opposed to CRT, are putting him on a list.

A woman named Jen Morse recently posted to the “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County” Facebook page, which is kept private, and urged 636 members to do the following:

-Infiltrate (create fake olive profiles and join these groups to collect and communicate information, hackers who can either shut down their websites or redirect them to pro-CRT/anti-racist informational webpages)

-Spread information (exposes these people publicly, create online petitions, create counter mailings)

The Cancellation of Dr. Seuss Should Disturb You, Because You’re Next

Dr. Seuss has been cancelled. Some of his work has been deemed racist, and we can’t have that. On Tuesday, the entity that oversees the estate of Theodor Seuss Geisel announced it would no longer publish six of Geisel’s books because they “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.” . . .

To grasp how a man known as much for his messages of tolerance as for his artistic genius could be canceled for racism, you have to understand what’s actually happening here. The left’s war on the past, on long-dead authors like Geisel, isn’t really about the past, it’s about the future. It’s about who gets to rule, and under what terms.

There’s a predictable pattern to what we’re seeing now. It’s predictable because it has happened before in much the same way it’s happening now. During China’s Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and ‘70s, the Chinese Communist Party, at the direction of Mao Zedong, called for the destruction of the “Four Olds”: old customs, old culture, old habits, old ideas. All of these stood in the way of Mao’s socialist ideology, so they had to be destroyed. . .

We’re obviously not there yet, but the woke revolutionaries who now run our elite institutions and exert outsized influence in the corridors of power are following this same pattern. . .

The people behind the statue-toppling, the digital book burnings, and the street violence won’t stop until all three of these things—history, ideas, and dissidents—have been destroyed. ‘Racist’ Dr. Seuss Books Are Now Spiking in Value

As you might expect, the six Dr. Seuss children’s books that are now out of print due to complaints about racist imagery in their pages are now collectors’ items. . .

The titles in question are “If I Ran the Zoo,” “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!” and “The Cat’s Quizzer.” . . .

“If I Ran the Zoo” in hardback was going for $995 at its lowest price on Amazon; no paperbacks were available. On eBay, a decent-looking hardback copy was going for a low “buy it now” price of $200 — all the way up to $9,999. (There also was a copy going for $1 million, believe it or not.)

“And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” in hardback was going for $1,399 at its lowest price on Amazon; no paperbacks were available. On eBay, a decent-looking hardback was going for a low “buy it now” price of $150, while the most expensive “buy it now” hardback was $100,000.

How about “McElligot’s Pool”? Well, the lowest price for a collectible hardback was $999 on Amazon (while the paperback was only $349.99). LinkedIn Yanks ‘Be Less White’ Diversity Training Lesson Following Intense Backlash

LinkedIn has removed a training seminar from its site that encouraged attendees to “be less white.” . . .

A description of the course promised attendees that the training “gives you the vocabulary and practices you need to start confronting racism and unconscious bias at the individual level and throughout your organization. There’s no magic recipe for building an inclusive workplace. It’s a process that needs to involve people of color, and that needs to go on for as long as your company’s in business. But with these tools at your disposal, you’ll be well on your way.”

Elsewhere in the webinar, white participants were encouraged to be “less white, less arrogant, less certain, less defensive, less ignorant, and more humble.” . . .

Earlier this week, LinkedIn announced that it would no longer host the webinar on its site.

Public Schools Cancel Advanced Classes for High Performing Students Because of ‘Racism’

Boston Public Schools officials said that a program with advanced learning classes would be cancelled over concerns that the classes served disproportionate racial groups.

The program known as Advanced Work Classes was intended to serve high-performing students in the fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Students are encouraged to study their subjects in a deeper and non-traditional manner.

School officials became concerned when a report showed that the program was disproportionately serving white students, and underserving black and Hispanic students.

The district analysis found that more than 70% of the students in the program were white or Asian, while nearly 80% of the students in the district are Hispanic or black.

Bill Gates Behind ‘Anti-Racist’ Math Push

A radical new push to purge math curricula of allegedly racist practices like showing your work and finding the correct answer is bankrolled by one of the nation’s most prominent nonprofits: the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Gates Foundation is the only donor mentioned on the homepage of A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction, a group of 25 education organizations whose curriculum states that asking students to show their work and find the right answer is an inherently racist practice.

Over the past decade, the Gates Foundation has given upward of $140 million to some of the groups behind Pathway, whose antiracist resources are the basis for a new teacher training course offered by the Oregon Department of Education.

The Education Trust, a California-based group that promoted the September release of Pathway’s antiracist “toolkit,” has received $86 million from the Gates Foundation, including a $3.6 million grant awarded in June.

Teach Plus, another group dedicated to creating an antiracist culture in K-12 schools, has received more than $27 million from the Gates Foundation. The group’s board members include former Democratic congressman George Miller and Obama-era secretary of education John King Jr.—who is also the president of The Education Trust. ‘Transracial’ Rachel Dolezal Whines That She Can’t Get a Job

Infamous race-faker Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who was outed for pretending to be black in 2015, still insists she’s African American and complained in a recent interview she’s been unable to secure a new job for six years.

Dolezal, 43, who now goes by the Nigerian name Nkechi Amare Diallo, sat down for a talk on the “Tamron Hall” show to whine about how she wishes people could see her for who she is rather than “what” she is.

“I started with applying for all of the things I was qualified for and after interviews and getting turned down, I even applied to jobs that didn’t even require degrees, being a maid at a hotel, working at a casino,” Dolezal told the former “Today” host in the interview, which aired on YouTube Monday.

“I wasn’t able to get any of those jobs either,” she lamented.

Report: School Instructs Third-Graders To Rank Themselves Based on Their Privilege

A California elementary school is pushing critical race theory on third-grade students, according to a new report. A teacher at an elementary school in Cupertino allegedly instructed third-graders to rank themselves based on their “power and privilege” during a math lesson.

A third-grade teacher at the R.I. Meyerholz Elementary School “told the eight- and nine-year-old students that they live in a ‘dominant culture’ of ‘white, middle class, cisgender, educated, able-bodied, Christian[s]’ who ‘created and maintained’ this culture in order ‘to hold power and stay in power,'” according to Christopher F. Rufo, contributing editor of City Journal. The students live in a city where 67% of the population is Asian-American and the median household income is $171,917.

Based on reported whistleblower documents and testimonials from parents “familiar with the session,” the teacher read from “This Book Is Anti-Racist: 20 Lessons on How to Wake Up, Take Action, and Do the Work,” which is rated appropriate for children ages 11+, according to Common Sense Media. . .

The R.I. Meyerholz Elementary School teacher allegedly pushed the “principle of intersectionality” on the young children and claimed that those who don’t hold power are oppressed.

The educator purportedly commanded the students to create an “identity map,” where the children listed their “race, class, gender, religion, family structure, and other characteristics.” The teacher then instructed the third-graders to “circle the identities that hold power and privilege” on their identity maps, according to the report. Then the students were allegedly told to rank their “traits according to the hierarchy.”
