Obama Threatens Fox News, Rush Limbaugh

In a sycophantic interview with The New Republic, conducted by former campaign staffer Chris Hughes and leftist writer Franklin Foer, President Obama suggested that he had all the answers to the pressing issues facing America and therefore no compromise was necessary with Republicans. He added that Republicans should compromise. And if those Republicans don’t compromise, Obama suggested that the fault would lie at the feet of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh – and that the calculus had to be changed to force Fox News and Limbaugh to stop holding Republicans accountable to conservatism.

Here’s Obama on how he’s going to fix the country:

“The truth is that most of the big issues that are going to make a difference in the life of this country for the next thirty or forty years are complicated and require tough decisions, but are not rocket science. We know that to fix our economy, we’ve got to make sure: that we have the most competitive workforce in the world, that we have a better education system, that we are investing in research and development, that we’ve got world-class infrastructure, that we’re reducing our health care costs, and that we’re expanding our exports. On issues like immigration, we have a pretty good sense of what’s broken in the system and how to fix it. On climate change, it’s a daunting task. But we know what releases carbon into the atmosphere, and we have tools right now that would start scaling that back, although we’d still need some big technological breakthrough. So the question is not, Do we have policies that might work? It is, Can we mobilize the political will to act?”

Despite the fact that Obama’s policies have been abysmal failures on virtually every front, the question for Obama is not what to do, but how to swindle the American people into doing it. And Obama said he would not be focusing on how to get things done in Washington, D.C.; instead, he’d be attempting to drum up public support on every issue. Obama then compared himself to Lincoln for such tactics:

“I always read a lot of Lincoln, and I’m reminded of his adage that, with public opinion, there’s nothing you can’t accomplish; without it, you’re not going to get very far. And spending a lot more time in terms of being in a conversation with the American people as opposed to just playing an insider game here in Washington is an example of the kinds of change in orientation that I think we’ve undergone, not just me personally, but the entire White House.”

Limbaugh Rips GOP Leadership: They Gave ‘A Seminar On How To Surrender’

Rush Limbaugh took a moment on Wednesday to speak about the joint press conference held by the “so-called Republican leadership” — comprised of House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and several others. Criticizing the party’s acquiescing on the issue of tax increases on the wealthy, Limbaugh said the Republicans have “conceded.”

“I don’t know why, but they were smiling,” Limbaugh said. “What we got today was a seminar on how to surrender. It was weak. The Republicans have conceded the language, they have conceded the silly notion of baseline budgeting.”

To his point about the language, Limbaugh said that now “deductions are loopholes,” which sets up the premise that 100 percent of income is subject to taxation. The bottom line: “All money is Washington’s.”

Video: Military Retiree Explains to Rush Why Obama Knew Immediately About Benghazi, Refused Aid

If you have any desire to know, from the inside, why Obama had to have known, early on, about what was going on in Benghazi, you need to watch this video.

This retired Lieutenant Colonel, at his own “peril,” describes the standard protocol that almost certainly involved Obama directly, not just in notifying him about what was going on but also in seeking his approval to defend Americans on the ground.

Here’s an excerpt of the colonel’s statement:

[T]he protocol says someone marched their happy little ass up to the senior guy standing next to POTUS and said, “Sir, ambassador in Libya is in peril.” …And evidently they were strip ready in [Sicily] and they would have the assets to penetrate the airspace, you know, an MC-130 papa, which is a C-130 specially equipped with electronic countermeasures. They didn’t need permission to enter Libyan airspace, okay?

I’m giving you a lot of Inside Baseball stuff, and maybe putting myself in a little peril by doing it, but the In-Extremis [rescue] Force, they would have been chomping at the bit to do this. It was turned down, POTUS [Obama], at his five p.m. Eastern time meeting with the principals, that’s when he put the kibosh on everything. It was a conscious act. It has to be because, you know, the In-Extremis Force is required to be prepared to do In-Extremis non-combatant evacuation operations for its geographic responsibility, the entire continent of Africa. So there’s always somebody ready to go, and the aircraft are always prepared to go. It’s maddening to say that there was not intelligence.”

And here’s the interview with Rush Limbaugh:

Video: Rush Limbaugh – Morgan Freeman’s Ridiculous Obama Ad

On yesterday’s show, Rush Limbaugh hammered Morgan Freeman’s ridiculous Obama ad for playing the blame game and misleading viewers. Not only does Freeman talk about all the problems that Obama inherited, he also suggests that the President has gotten our factory lines “humming again.”

This is what Rush said about the ad:

What the hell does that say? It says absolutely nothing. All it does is start whining and making excuses. Every president inherits challenges. Few have faced so many. Yeah? That’d be surprising to George W. Bush. He had 9/11, his own recession. Ronaldus Magnus, the four years of Jimmy Carter, the Iranian hostage crisis he had to settle and fight the Cold War and defeat the Russians, the Soviets. These people think they’ve had it so tough. Four years later our enemies have been brought to justice. The hell they have. Our enemies are spiking the football. Zawahiri and Al-Qaeda are spiking the football! Killing our ambassador in Benghazi and three other Americans, after Obama has said there is no more Al-Qaeda. After Obama has tried to tell everybody he’s brought Al-Qaeda to its knees.

Here’s the ad itself:

The Media’s double standard: Fort Hood vs. Aurora, Colorado

National Review columnist Mark Steyn on Friday criticized attempts to psychoanalyze accused Aurora, Colo., “Batman” shooter James Holmes and any ties he may have to political organizations, as ABC’s Brian Ross attempted earlier in the day.

Guest-hosting Rush Limbaugh’s radio show, Steyn contrasted media coverage of the Colorado shooting to the 2009 massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, committed by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.

“Nobody ever says, ‘Where did Maj. Hasan get the ideas that made him want to stand on a table shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and gun down a bunch of people?’” Steyn said. “That is an isolated one-off. It doesn’t have anything to do with any books he might have read or any spiritual advisers he might have listened to. That’s an entirely insulated one-off.”

The incident in Aurora, Colo., evoked a more immediate reaction, with several Twitter users suggesting that Rush Limbaugh’s commentary on “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises” may have motivated the shooting.

“But when it comes to some guy of no known political affiliation, who may have no political affiliations whatsoever, but when he decides to walk into a motion picture theater and kill a bunch of people, then the first thing that has to happen is that has to be pinned on right-wing talk radio and Fox News and all kinds of other stuff,” said Steyn. “This is pathetic. It’s abysmal. It’s not worth talking about.”

Rush Limbaugh- Obama Blames Others For Economy

Rush reads six pages of headline of Obama blaming everyone else for the economy.

Limbaugh: Don’t Be Fooled — Debt Deal Means More Taxes

Whether the deal to reduce the government deficit passes or not, says radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, the American people are still going to get a tax increase.

“Any way you slice it you are going to get tax increases. That’s how screwed we are,” he said.

Limbaugh blames the complex accounting done by the Congressional Budget Office, he said on his radio show on Monday.

President George W. Bush’s tax cuts that are due to expire at the end of next year, he says. If Obama extends the cuts, the CBO will consider that a $ 5 trillion reduction in government income which will have to be made up elsewhere. If they expire, that’s a direct tax hike on Americans, Limbaugh said.

“Anyone wanting to tell you there are no tax increases in this technically may be right, this piece of legislation does not have a specific tax increases in it. But what’s slated to happen over the next few months results in one,” Limbaugh said.

We’ve Been Played for Saps, Folks: Boehner Bill Will Become Reid Bill

RUSH: I think we’ve been played for a bunch of saps, I mean not us exclusively, I just mean the whole country, the Republican Party, ruling class. I’ll explain as uncomfortable as it is and as grading as it is, I’ll explain as the program unfolds it’s great to have you here as always telephone number if you want to be on the program. 800-282-2882. The e-mail address [email protected].

Where are we on the debt deal? I suspect that most of the people, and this is what a lot of people are relying on, “Just finish it!” A lot of people are sick and tired of hearing about it, let’s move on to something else. “I’m tired of talking about it. Can’t we do something that’s fun? What the hell is going on?” I understand the sentiment. Yesterday or last night the Republican leadership succeeded in getting Allen West to flip and vote for the Boehner plan or to commit to it. The same thing with Paul Ryan, and I’ve had a lot of e-mails: “What’s Allen West doing? I can’t believe Allen West, of all people.” These Democrats, folks, you have to understand who we’re dealing with here. This whole thing with Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz going on the House floor and accusing West of wanting to cut Medicare and Social Security and all that in the south Florida district, and you remember the contretemps that begin with West responding to it and so forth. They have put his re-election into play and, of course, they’ve got the media on their side down here in south Florida.

So all over the media is the allegation that Allen West wants to do all this damage to senior citizens and so forth so that’s how his vote gets — I’m guessing. I haven’t spoken to him. But I think that’s a large part of it. Now, as we all know the Boehner bill is not ideal. It’s another one of these eight hundred, nine hundred, I don’t even think it gets to a trillion, but let’s say it does, a trillion dollars in cuts over 10 years, the debt limit raised immediately so the spending occurs immediately, but it re-invites the debt limit debate all over again in a few short few months and in fact there is from the Daily Caller today a story that says the GOP is stealing Christmas. The Democrats are going back to the Gingrich that stole Christmas theme from the Clinton days. And here’s the story from the Daily Caller: “GOP Aims to Gut Christmas, White House Alleges — House Speaker and national grinch John Boehner is planning to spoil Christmas, White House officials are claiming, as they try to head off passage of Boehner’s two-stage debt ceiling bill.”

They don’t want to head off passage of the Boehner bill. They want the Boehner bill to pass in the house. There’s a trap essentially that’s being set, and I noticed that there’s an AP story, and way down at the AP story: “In fact, Boehner’s plan has enough in common with Reid’s — including the establishment of a special congressional panel to recommend additional spending cuts this fall — that Reid hinted a compromise could be easy to snap together,” between his nonexistent bill and the Boehner bill. What does that mean? What it means is that over in the Senate Reid really doesn’t have a bill. He’s got an idea, but he doesn’t have a bill. And what he’s put forth as an idea hasn’t gotten all that much support. But here comes, let’s say the House, and Boehner doesn’t have the votes in the House yet according to Politico. And this is key. That was as of 9:30 this morning and they’re going to be working the Republican caucus all day long before the vote tonight. But, as of now, Boehner doesn’t have the votes for his bill. But let’s assume he gets the votes. The Boehner bill then goes to the Senate where it’s dead on arrival. There are 58 senators that are going to vote against it, by design. However, they’ve got a bill over there now.

So Dingy Harry can take the Boehner bill and tweak it and rewrite it, make additions to it, take some things out of it, play with it however he wants, and get enough votes from Democrats since it becomes the Reid bill, and then it gets sent back to Boehner in the House looking nothing like his bill, but the rationale for passing the Boehner bill in the House is we’ve got to do this, the time is up, we’re not going to get blamed. So if Reid monkeys around with the bill that he gets from Boehner, and it passes in the Senate, with whatever changes that are not favorable to us, of course, they throw it back in Boehner’s lap, and then the pressure is going to be back on Boehner. Okay, do you sign the Reid bill? Do you pass it? Do you get your guys to vote for it and send it to Obama, basically a Democrat bill. That is what a lot of people — and I sign on to the theory, too — this is one of the traps that’s being set. The Boehner bill is essentially being used to be a foundation for a nonexistent as of yet Reid bill. And thereby the Boehner bill becomes the Reid bill, therefore Democrat bill all in the absence of an Obama plan. No Obama plan at all in this.
