China, Russia Could Launch ‘Space Pearl Harbor’ on Aging US Satellites: Expert

The United States is not prepared for strategic space competition against a united China and Russia, according to one expert.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is nearing technological parity with the United States in key space domains, according to Brandon Weichert, an independent geopolitical analy
st. That means that it will soon threaten the United States’ ability to project power in space.

“You’re already seeing China being able to catch up to us in certain areas,” Weichert said during an Oct. 13 interview with NTD, a sister media outlet of the Epoch Times.

“They are still able to do things that we were not anticipating that they would be able to do, such as getting this new space station of theirs in orbit as quickly as they did and getting many of our key allies to sign on in support of the new China space station. And that’s just the beginning.”

Weichert said that the United States was not ready to face the combined aggression of the CCP and Vladimir Putin’s Russia simultaneously because the nation had failed to capitalize on its dominance in space following the end of the Cold War. Entrepreneur: Same Companies That Pulled Out of Russia ‘Will Not Say a Peep’ When China Invades Taiwan

Strive Asset Management Executive Chairman Vivek Ramaswamy argued on Wednesday that the same American companies which left Russia after the invasion of Ukraine are too financially dependent on China to do the same if the nation attacks Taiwan.

More than 1,000 companies in the Western world have decreased operations within Russia beyond the extent required by international sanctions, according to an analysis from the Yale School of Management. During an interview with Fox Business, Ramaswamy predicted that economic conditions will bar companies from leaving China in the way that did not apply to firms leaving Russia.

“It’s easy for multinational corporations to shun Russia. Multinational corporations are not going to shun China in the same way,” Ramaswamy commented. “Many of them depend on China for their growth. So I think the same multinational corporations that condemned Russia for taking action against Ukraine will not say a peep — I think you can mark my words on this — will not say a peep as China makes its move on Taiwan.”

China has heightened aggression toward Taiwan in recent months. As the United States pursued trade talks with the island nation, the Chinese military sent a “readiness patrol” near Taiwanese sea and airspace. As Russia began the invasion of Ukraine, China likewise sent squadrons of jets into Taiwanese airspace following a similar incursion one month earlier. U.S. Singles Out China, Russia in New National Security Strategy Statement

. . .On Wednesday, the White House drew attention to Biden’s worldview by releasing an official national security blueprint that singled out Russia as a dangerous foe and China as the United States’ chief competitor.

The three-page “National Security Strategy” contains few surprises, but it does effectively lay out what amounts to a Biden doctrine on foreign affairs at a time of heightened tension over a global economic slowdown and the war in Ukraine.

“The most pressing strategic challenge we face as we pursue a free, open, prosperous, and secure world are from powers that layer authoritarian governance with a revisionist foreign policy,” the memo says. Russia Invites U.S. States to Secede and Join Country

A senior Russian lawmaker has seemingly invited American states to secede and instead join the Russian Federation, amid polling showing support amongst Americans for their states to break away.

Alexander Tomalchev, a senior member of Russia’s parliament (the Duma) told Russian news website Podmoskovye Segodnya that any US state wanting to secede from the US would be welcome to apply to join his country, Newsweek reported on Monday.

He cited polls showing Americans wanting their states to break away from the US, before calling for any such US state wanting to join Russia to hold elections on the matter.

“It is important that voting takes place not on social networks, but officially and legitimately,” Mr Tomalchev said in apparent reference to online polling in the US and elections in regions of Ukraine annexed by Russia this month.

Mr Tomalchev reportedly added that Moscow would consider any US state wanting to join the Russian Federation should any such election be held, and that United States was beginning “to decay”. (Read more from “Russia Invites U.S. States to Secede and Join Country” HERE)

U.S. Sensors Unable to Track Chinese, Russian Hypersonic Missiles: Report

U.S. radars are unable to track Chinese and Russian high-speed missiles until late in their flight, even as new systems are being developed as part of the Pentagon’s accelerated hypersonic missile defense program, according to a congressional report.

The Congressional Research Service report said that the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency and Space Development Agency are working on parts of a hypersonic missile defense systems that could be used to stop the missiles, in part because current systems are inadequate for the job.

“U.S. defense officials have stated that both existing terrestrial- and space-based sensor architectures are insufficient to detect and track hypersonic weapons,” the Oct. 3 report states.

Mike Lee asks Mitt Romney for endorsement in final weeks of campaign
For geostationary satellite sensors, hypersonic targets are 10 to 20 times harder to detect than conventional ballistic missiles, which travel in more predictable trajectories, the report said.

Hypersonic missiles travel at speeds greater than 1 mile per second. Current U.S. space and ground radar systems are unable to detect the missiles until late in flight, making interception with anti-missile systems difficult. Elon Musk Denies Report He Recently Spoke to Putin Before Unveiling Ukraine Peace Plan

Space and electric car guru Elon Musk denied reports that he recently talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin before unveiling his peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.

In a mailout to subscribers, Eurasia Group founder Ian Bremmer reported that Musk told him Putin was “prepared to negotiate” so long as Crimea remained within Russia’s grip, according to Vice News. Musk insisted that he hasn’t talked to Putin in nearly 18 months, which would precede the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February. . .

Bremmer later appeared to rebuff Musk’s denial, reiterating that Musk told him that he spoke with Putin, though refraining from laying out a specific timeline.

I Won’t Go to War With Russia for Randi Weingarten

After news broke on Monday that Russia launched missiles at several Ukrainian cities, the president of the second-largest teachers union in America announced she was “heading to the border now to assess the situation.” . . .

What is the woman infamous for sentencing American children to school on screens doing in Ukraine other than making herself a Franz Ferdinand-like target and possibly violating the Logan Act? Especially since the U.S. Department of State has ordered Americans “not travel to Ukraine due to Russian military invasion.”

According to the AFT, which sponsored the trip, Weingarten’s presence in Ukraine is supposed to “offer solidarity and support in the face of relentless attacks that have forced hundreds of thousands of refugees to flee the country’s east.”

Frankly, that’s not a good enough reason to be gung-ho about celebrities such as Ben Stiller, Angelina Jolie, Sean Penn, Liev Schreiber, Jessica Chastain, and now leftist pawns such as Weingarten making the dangerous pilgrimage East with the hopes that they can “make a difference” in Ukraine. These American civilians have no business traveling to Eastern Europe in the midst of a conflict that is teetering on the edge of nuclear war, even if they are just trying to “do something” beyond putting the performative blue and yellow flag in their Twitter bios.

Already, American warmongers including President Joe Biden have threatened escalation if Russia continues its rampage in the East. The last thing the United States needs after funneling more than $67 billion to the Volodymyr Zelensky regime without any accountability or oversight is to have an American injured or dead thanks to their reckless travel. There’s no doubt that any incident of consequence would be used as an excuse to take U.S. involvement from proxy war to direct conflict.

Russian Troops Pour Into Belarus ‘by the Trainload’

Russian troops are pouring into Belarus “by the trainload.”

The news comes alongside an announcement from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko that Russian troops would return to the country, which neighbors both Russia and Ukraine, in large numbers, according to the Belarusian state news agency Belta. Tens of thousands of Russian troops used Belarus as the staging ground for their initial northern offensive into Ukraine in February but mostly withdrew by late March. Since then, a few hundred Russian troops have stayed behind, mostly air and missile troops that use the close Russian ally as a launching pad for missile strikes into Ukraine, but that now appears to be changing.

“Russian soldiers are entering Belarus by the trainload. They’re traveling in cattle cars — just a huge quantity. Just waves of trains arriving,” a Belarusian source told Kyiv Post correspondent Jason Jay Smart.

White House Walks Back Biden’s ‘Armageddon’ Remarks

The White House on Friday attempted to take the edge off President Biden’s warnings that the U.S. could soon face nuclear “Armageddon.”

Presidential press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre attempted to allay heightened fears when speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One, returning to the administration’s official mantra that the U.S. has no indication “that Russia is preparing to imminently use nuclear weapons.”

Mr. Biden “was reinforcing what he has been saying, which is how seriously we have taken these threats about nuclear weapons as we have done when the Russians have made these threats throughout the conflict,” she said. “The kind of rhetoric we have seen is no way for the leader of a nuclear-armed state to speak, and that’s what the President was making very clear.”

Still, Ms. Jean-Pierre reiterated that the U.S. does not assess that Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to launch nukes in the immediate future.

“As I said before, we have not seen any reason to adjust our own strategic nuclear posture,” she said. (Read more from “White House Walks Back Biden’s ‘Armageddon’ Remarks” HERE)

NATO Must Fire ‘Preemptive Strikes’ to Prevent Russian Nukes, Zelensky Says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on NATO to conduct “preventative action” against Russian targets to prevent their use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

The president said these actions “are needed so that [the Russians] know what awaits them if they use nuclear weapons” on Thursday during an event with the Australian think tank the Lowy Institute. “Not the other way around, waiting for Russia’s nuclear strikes and then saying, ‘Oh, you’ve done that, then get this.’”

During Zelensky’s remarks, his interpreter said he called for “preventative strikes” but then corrected himself to say “preventative action.”

Zelensky adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said on social media that reports he called for a preventive nuclear strike were “fake.”

“Another ru-fake. 1. @ZelenskyyUa said nothing about a preventive nuclear strike on RF,” he said. “2. Zelensky reminded about Russian nuclear blackmail and suggested to preemptively outline the consequences for Russia and intensify strikes against it — sanctions and armed assistance to UA.” (Read more from “NATO Must Fire ‘Preemptive Strikes’ to Prevent Russian Nukes, Zelensky Says” HERE)
