Illegal Alien Student Arrested for Threatening School

A student with a shotgun made a terrorist threat against East High School on social media, according to Rochester police.

Abigail Hernandez, 21, is charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony. She is currently in the Buffalo Federal Detention Center in Batavia because she is an undocumented immigrant, Rochester Deputy Mayor Cedric Alexander said.

Police said, “The initial threat came from an anonymous Facebook account, which our investigators had to track down and determine the author of the Facebook account.” Hernandez allegedly made the threat at 5:08 p.m. Feb. 15, stating, “I’m coming tomorrow morning and I’m going to shoot all of ya bitches.” . . .

Hernandez was arrested at home at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 20 after she made a “credible threat” against the school, Alexander said. Police recovered a shotgun in her home. “The threat referenced a shooting and sympathy with the school shooting in Parkland, Florida,” Alexander said . . .

Hernandez is a student in the Rochester City School District, but she is not a student at East. Authorities declined to say where she is enrolled. Rochester Police Deputy Chief La’Ron Singletary said he was unsure why Hernandez allegedly threatened East High. He said a City School District member alerted police to the threat. Student Threatens to ‘Shoot up’ His School – What Police Find at His Home Is Chilling

California law enforcement authorities say they might have prevented a school shooting at El Camino High School after a student muttered that he was going to “shoot up” the campus . . .

Police were called immediately after a seventeen-year-old student said that he was planning to “shoot up” the school and was overheard by a safety officer. During an investigation, they discovered a cache of weapons at his home.

Robert Jacobsen, the general counsel for the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, said that the student made the comments after a disagreement with a teacher over headphones.

Marino Chavez, the safety officer, questioned the student about what he overheard him saying. After investigating the matter, the student said that he was simply joking.

“He did say that he was just kidding, he did not mean it. I said, ‘Well you can’t say those things on a school campus,’” Chavez said.

Chavez informed the police, who saw that an AR-15 was registered at the student’s address. When they investigated the home, they discovered several weapons, including two AR-15 rifles, two handguns and 90 high-capacity magazines. Politicians Exploit School Shooting, Silent About Obama’s Bombing Victims

Following the recent Oregon school shooting, many politicians rushed to the microphones to call for new gun control laws. President Obama even called on gun control supporters to “politicize” the shooting, while some members of Congress worked to establish a special commission on gun violence.

The reaction to the shooting stands in stark contrast to the reaction to the U.S. military’s bombing of an Afghanistan hospital run by the international humanitarian (and Nobel Peace Prize winning) group Doctors Without Borders.

Our Nobel Peace Prize winning president did apologize to his fellow Nobel laureate for the bombing. However, President Obama has not “politicized” this tragedy by using it to justify ending military involvement in Afghanistan. No one in Congress is pushing for a special commission to examine the human costs of U.S. militarism, and the mainstream media has largely ignored Doctors Without Borders’ accusation that the bombing constitutes a war crime.

The reason for the different reactions to these two events is that politicians prefer to focus on events they can “politicize” to increase government power. In contrast, politicians ignore incidents that raise uncomfortable questions about U.S. foreign policy.

If the political and media elites were really interested in preventing future mass shootings, they would repeal the federal “gun-free” schools law, for example. By letting shooters know that their intended victims are defenseless, the gun-free schools law turns schoolchildren into easy targets.
